Our company has been serviced by Family Heating and Cooling for about 10 years now. They have always been honest, fair and professional. We just had Family install a new HVAC unit for our building this week. The process went well, the price is what I would consider fair (for a commercial unit) and it works great.

My wife and I are moving out of town and the week before we leave, the pilot light goes out on our ancient furnace. Just to be safe we had someone come out to check on it, on a Saturday. Ken was informative and polite, and discovered a crack in the unit which warranted a replacement. We were able have the new furnace up and heating by Monday afternoon, in a snowstorm and single digits temps. Our furnace in the home we just moved into was replaced in March and started making a squealing noise on Friday at 2pm. I called around 3, but then was going to a movie. I was told it would be the beginning of the week before they could get someone out, which I totally understood. By 4pm Ken was calling saying he could be at our house for the end of his work day to try to be sure we dont lose our A/C. I explained I couldnt get there, and he said he could come Saturday after another scheduled stop he had. I was going to be gone again, but we had friends at our house and he asked if I would be ok with him entering my home without me being there (with my friends there). He was overly considerate and concerned about getting us fixed as soon as he could. Even just for warranty repair. He got there at 11am and I was able to be home shortly after. He had the fan out and found the issue and was great at walking me through the issue and other information about our furnace. What amazing service! They have won my business! Thanks again Ken!

My husband and I were so impressed by Family Heating and Cooling. Our 14-year-old water heater went out and we were without hot water for nearly a week before we called Ken. He really worked hard to solve all of the problems with the water heater and went above and beyond, and out of his way to get the right parts that were needed to take care of the job. Ken was really helpful and knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. The job was finished quickly and we couldnt be more thrilled!

About a month ago our heater completely shut off and we couldnt figure out how to fix it. We had Xavier come take a look. He could have done everything over the top and make sure every detail was perfect and charge us $300, but instead he gave the option to just make it run for $85.About a month later I called Family because our heater was blowing cold air. They put me in touch with Xavier again because I worked with him in the past. Check this out: He told me that it could be a couple things, but if it was the simple fix, he told me how to fix it. He said, if this doesnt work, Ill come out there. he proceeded to text me pictures of what I should be looking for.I fixed the heater in 5 minutes, and Family didnt charge me a dime. I highly recommend them.

Our air conditioner went out on one of the hottest days of the year. After calling several other shops, Ken was the only guy who could make it out the same day. Woke up on a nippy December Saturday morning to no heat. Ken arrived a few hours later, made the necessary repair, cleaned the furnace we were up and running. Great work, prompt & friendly, I highly recommend.

The tech was very thorough and explained everything that was wrong with our 12 year old builders grade (off brand) furnace. We ended up getting a new furnace installed with Family Heating and Cooling. We are very happy with the service we received through all of this. We now have a very quiet new furnace. They cant change the price of a new unit but, they did help us secure financing for it.

First time customer. Got work done in November. Okay experience overall. Lowered review because I was quoted the price for both the part needed and the diagnostic done before having the tech come out (480 total). When the tech came he charged that plus an additional 80. When it was time to pay I did ask why the price was different, and at that point he mentioned and applied a military 5% discount. Not sure that wouldve happened had I not asked why the price was different. Tech was nice but did try to push on additional services, even suggesting we need a new furnace. Definitely not needed. I didnt feel reassured by the experience. This company does have good reviews, may consider using again.

Being a weekend, I called “Family Heating and Cooling” for they have 7 x 24 service and Isaac, a technician for the organization responded promptly.After a very good dialog with him and numerous questions which all were answered in a knowledgeable and professional way I had my course of action. He gave me choices and options.Without any further competitor checking (which is unusual for me) I committed to a new replacement furnace.My information was passed on to Jaime at the office and I closed the deal. Had work done on furnace (cleaning) which was found to be incomplete when home was inspected for sale. Contacted the owner of Family Heating and he personally came out to repair additional needs of the furnace and perform cleaning on the same day. Estimated additional cost of $480 which he waived completely. Enough cannot be said for honestly, integrity, and ownership of an issue. Everyone will make mistakes, but only a few take ownership and go the extra mile to then complete the job. Could not recommend Ken and his company more highly.

I am shocked that this place is still in business....actually I am not shocked! Needed a simple furnace check and clean..$65.00..no big deal. The tech comes out and says I need a new evaporator coil because there is rust and motor blower. Invites the owner to come out and double check. Owner says, yep needs to be replaced. Cost? $1,975.00! What?! So knowing nothing about furnaces/AC, I agree. Pay them to replace motor blower: $580.00. Start to question if this is right. Call a different company to come out. They find no issues. Zero issues. Told me sorry that I got scammed, even put a sticker on the furnace saying that they checked it AND everything looks good...didnt charge me for checking because they knew I was out that money. Get a second opinion people! Not all companies are on your side.

Very good experience! I needed someone to replace a vent cap on our roof which comes out from the furnace. When the technician got on the roof, he discovered part of the old vent cap fell into the furnace exhaust! Of course this is a safety factor, as CO2 can back up into your house. He tried everything and could not get it out. He mentioned he may have to start taking the furnace apart and may even have to get into the walls to retrieve it! (oh no!) Luckily he was a very smart guy--he took the bottom part of the furnace exhaust off and threw his screwdriver down the pipe. It dislodged the old vent cap and he was able to get the new one installed. Even though I had to pay an extra hours labor, it was highly worth it with the effort he put forth to NOT tear into our walls! Thanks!

Very nice people to your face and on the phone, but terrible service. Xavier showed up to my house for the diagnostic on my furnace. He cleaned off one sensor with a brush on his keychain and said it was good. Running my credit card took more time than any service being done. The next morning I woke up to it still not working! When I called, I was told I’d have to pay for the diagnostic again. Obviously they aren’t confident enough in their work to back their diagnosis and service. Customer satisfaction should be priority over swiping my credit card! Thanks. I’ll go elsewhere.

Very reliable and honest. I watched them install a furnace at a friends house and liked what they did. I had 2 old furnaces at my home and both needed replacing within a year of each other. The cost was reasonable and the work done was professional. I would recommend using this company.

Ken came out today to diagnose my furnace. He figured out what was wrong and was able to fix my furnace all today. He was extremely professional and honest. Once he fixed my furnace he showed me and made sure everything ran. He also got on my roof and checked my vents which the other company I had come out did not do! They diagnosed our furnace issue within minutes. They took the time to help us understand all of our options and answered all of our (many) questions. Great customer service. My water heater went out about a month ago, we were out of town and had family house sitting. I contacted family heating and they had someone out to replace our water heater within 3 hours. Would highly recommend this company!

Yesterday a tech came to check my hot water heater, only for him to tell me it was the vent and how it wasnt pushed all the way on causing a back draft (he didnt even get on the roof to confirm). He said it definitely was the thermal couple or pilot assembly (which my father in law said it probably was and I told the tech this). He left and I called back when the pilot light turned off again which was about 30 minutes after he left. He called me back later and explained they didnt have the parts for my water heater and he would get them in the morning. Today he called saying the plumbing house didnt have the parts and couldnt help me unless I wanted to purchase a new hot water heater (mine is only 4 years old). Im out the diagnostic fee and didnt even get the correct diagnostic. What a joke to tell me it was the vent! I hope you find better trained techs to work for you. I chose you because of the reviews but I am very disappointed and will never use Family Heating and Cooling again.

You can TRUST them. They just saved me over $3,000, literally. I know absolutely nothing about furnaces and mine went out, I didnt know why and my daughter and I were cold. The first place I called told me I needed a new furnace, and I was ready to shovel it out but felt a little uneasy. I called these guys for a second opinion and discovered that my furnace was FINE - all I needed was a new thermostat. Heat is one of those things you NEED in Colorado, and there are companies here that will happily take advantage of your situation. This company will not. I called today to have a tech sent to my home free of charge for one reason.... MISINFORMATION. I was okay that a mistake was made and gave them the opportunity to live up to the opinion that they know what they are doing. I was called back by a gentleman and we got into a conversation about the information. He was basically telling me that it had been too long and that I could have done something in the mean time to mess up the thermostat. I told the gentleman I had my cable provide come and professionally install everything and they have been back twice to confirm that nothing they had done could have changed the situation in any way. I didnt ask them to come fix the damn thing, I just wanted information, but would have gladly paid SOMEONE KNOWLEDGEABLE to fix it. I told the gentleman I dont know what I am doing otherwise I wouldnt be talking to you. I just need some help here.I was very politely told that If I wanted to fix everything myself I could go to HVAC School when I asked why they would charge a customer who paid $120 for a diagnostic twice. I Understand they have to come out twice, but I never got the right information. You are your word, I just wanted to hear the correct ones. I could have paid Home Depot twice with $120! They Claimed since they never installed anything (the reason for no installation being because the thermostat they said I needed was $150 through them) They couldnt warranty anything. I told the gentleman that I dont want a warranty, I want the right information.Bottom line... Im out $120 and still have no heat in my home.

What a joke! We moved into our house, and within the first week our A/C stopped working and was no longer blowing cold air. We decided to call this company since they had the best google reviews I could find and were the soonest available. We had a feeling it was the refrigerant but knew we werent A/C experts so we left it up to the professionals. Within 30 minutes of arriving, the technician came to me and said we had quite a few things wrong. Rusted A/C coil, bad blower motor, and low refrigerant just to name a few. All in all he quoted us $2200 just to fix the A/C problems and get it up and running, however he said that since we have an older system (built in 2003) it would kick the bucket in a few years and we should just get a brand new system instead... a quote of $7000!!! Completely caught off guard as not expecting to hear such large numbers, I said I would have to call them back and let them know our decision. We then decided to give the company, Calibrating Air, whom my home warranty recommend, a chance to diagnose our A/C a few days later. They were able to let me know Family Heating and Coolings finds were entirely BOGUS!! Firstly, A/C coils are made of COPPER. Copper doesnt rust, secondly the blower motor was working perfectly. The only actual problem with my system was a refrigerant leak and low refrigerant. A total of $300 is all I had to pay to get my A/C back up and running with no issues!! I have never met such a scamming company. Definitely get several diagnostics before letting this company do any work!! What a bunch of scam artists!!

I had Family Heating and Cooling come and look at my furnace. They replaced a part but that didnt get it work and they had to come back the next day and it turns out it was best to get a new furnace. They refunded the part that put in the day before, and they were able to work me in quickly on a very cold week.

He was able to talk my husband through a repair on our heater over the phone. Saved us the cost of someone coming out after hours. Simply fix - NO COST!

My normal hvac guy was booked and the heat in my rental was not working. Needed it fixed asap, so called family heating. They got in same day and got it working, I was very pleased with that. However I took a star off because he told me it would be $120 hold since I was not at the rental. No problem except most techs I work with apply that to the work done. He charged that on top of the work and parts. It was not communicated well. Also would not let me know parts cost since they bundle work and parts. Great work done and timeliness, not pleased with the price.

We recently purchased a water heater from Family Heating and Cooling in Colorado Springs and we were very pleased with the timeliness of the installation, quality of the work, the way the work was explained to us and the friendliness of their entire staff.

I had a humidifier installed by Family Heating and Cooling this summer (a great deal and great service by the installation team). We would leave the fan running during the day to circulate the air and add humidity (my son gets bloody noses in low humidity). My furnace was really old, so it didnt have a Fan only capability. The installer showed me how to turn the blower on and off, without having to install an expensive circuit board. It was a lifesaver during the Black Forest fires. I could leave my windows closed, circulate air, and purify any smoke out of the air in our house.When I went to turn my furnace back on yesterday, the thermostat wouldnt start up the heater. I called Family Heating and cooling and explained what was going on. The owner called me back and set a next day appointment to assess the situation. During the installation of the humidifier, a thermostat wire was bumped loose. He found the issue right away and offered to fix it for free.He also took a look at the heat exchange on my furnace. The furnace is almost 30 years old and he had concerns about carbon monoxide. I am glad he looked. He found 2 cracks in the exchange (he showed them to me) and was able to come up with a really affordable furnace to replace the old one.When he found out that today was the only good day for my family to do the installation, he offered to drive down to the Carrier dealer himself so that his technicians could begin ripping the old furnace out and ensure a same-day installation.They really go above and beyond for their customers. Their installers are very polite, professional, and conscientious (always offering to take off their shoes, etc.). My experience with Family HVAC surpasses any service Ive had previously in 3 different cities in Colorado over the past 20 years. Office staff is highly competent, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. The owner clearly knows his business and has consistently demonstrated the highest level of technical expertise, code requirements, integrity and interpersonal skill. (I was fortunate to find Family HVAC after nearly being victimized by a scam.) Family HVAC is exceptional, reliable, honest and cost effective in every way. I decided to use Family HVAC on a yearly service subscription basis and recommend this business highly--in fact, Id give the owner and staff 10 stars if it were possible.

Excellent service! We had a new Variable furnace put in at our house this month after getting 5 estimates from different Heating and cooling companies and Family and heating was the 2nd cheapest but the one that was cheaper left me uneasy and was the only one who said I needed a 90k ton unit when all the others said 70k. Ken and Isaac came out to install the unit and both of them were very patient and had the heart of teacher when it came to the installation. They both knew what they were doing and took the time to make sure the job got done correctly. Even the city inspector said these guys are great, will definitely be using again for our heating and cooling needs occur.

I got home last night and discovered my furnace had quit working. I did a Google search and found Family Heating and Cooling. They had a 4.9 rating and were open till 9PM so I gave them a call. I was pleased to talk to a real person right away and fully expected to be told they would be out some time in the next couple of days (it was 30 some-odd degrees outside and dropping fast.) I was surprised to be told they had a technician on call and would send him my way. Mark showed up 40 minutes later and had my furnace running 30 minutes after that with a new igniter that he had on his truck! I was STOKED! (pun intended). Exceptional Service! Great prices! Will definitely use Family Heating and Cooling for all my HVAC needs and highly recommend them to all. Two thumbs, way-way up!

Scheduled an estimate to install a new AC unit for am home Im under contract to purchase. When scheduling I explained the situation and was assured it was not a problem to have the tech write me an estimate.However, when meeting the HVAC tech at the property, he wouldnt even come inside to provide an estimate stating I need to be homeowner so they can lock me in with a contact. While I understand each company has its own policy, this couldve been explained to me up front instead of wasting not only my time, but also my realtors time. Moreover the tech was short and rude about this fact; unnecessary and unprofessional.I certainly will not be using Family Heating and Cooling for my HVAC needs and will be purchasing my new AC unit elsewhere.

I normally do not write reviews, but I felt I should take the time since it helped me make the decision to call Family Heating and Cooling. My thermostat seemed to not be working and I thought I had the ability to change it out. I saw that my furnace was flashing an LED code and since I had no idea how to resolve the problem, I called in a professional. Ken found a safety overridden in the system and showed me the diagnostic on each of the major components. He explained everything thoroughly and I am aware I have some components that need replacement, which I declined at this time. I felt that I learned a great deal about my HVAC system and have ideas about future issues and costs. I felt better knowing my furnace is running efficiently and a limit switch was restored.

Family Heating and Cooling were able to fit us in almost immediately. They diagnosed the issue and were able to fix the problem on the spot. I would definitely recommend them.

We have been using Family Heating and Cooling for several years now, and cannot say one negative thing about them! We started using them when we were still living in Colorado Springs for all our heating and cooling needs. They were always on time, very professional, got the job done in a very proficient manner, with very competetive prices! 3 year ago we moved 20 miles out of Colorado Springs. I had such a positive experience with Family Heating and Cooling, that I wanted them to continue their service, but wasnt sure if they would charge me extra coming all the way to my new location. Well, they dont, and I can continue using somebody I trust! I can recommend Family Heating and Cooling whole-heartedly to anyone!

Kevin shows up, looks at furnace 10 minutes .says my fan is the problem and wants $600 to do the job I say thats too much,I then get charged $60 for the service call..so for $125 and 2 hours of my time I do the work myself turns out the motor wasnt the problem it was ONE loose wire and the squirrel cage fan was off balance.THANKS FOR NOTHING...maybe if he had taken the time and got his hands dirty instead of trying to get out of here as quick as possible he would have seen that himself.p.s. he spent more time writing the estimate than he did looking at the furnace

I have to say that this company is what you expect when dealing with professionals in the Home Heating and Cooling industry. They came when they said they would. They fixed all the issues with the furnace when other companies (which shall remain nameless) charged my family and did not do the job.Even when the furnace stopped working again, they came right back out and found out it was something simple. Customer Service comes first with this company.Even when people choose not to pay attention to the BBB, my family has found that when you use it you find companies like this.If you need HVAC help in your home, dont hesitate to call this company folks. They will take care of you.
