They’re patient, kind, tough, and just have a way with getting the kids to listen learn and love what they’re doing. We have built a great relationship with Coach Frank. It means the world to us to know our kids are loved and taken care of and that is as parents can openly talk to the professor. Both kids are showing skills at home that they have been taught in class. When they roll, even at that age, I see them putting to use what they’ve been taught which is amazing. 10 out of 10 we recommend this facility and staff. The first time I visited Off the Grid, it took about 30 seconds watching Professor Frank interact with my son to know we found a special place. He is truly exceptional with the kids. Off the Grid is a warm welcoming team with a family atmosphere. We’re a group of very different people, there to learn the same things but for different reasons. Some are kids who won’t be bullied. Some are Moms who want to want to feel safer walking to their car in the Target parking lot. Some are legit MMA fighters training for professional fights. Some are old guys like me who missed sports and like pretending to be young for an hour or two every couple days. It will be what you need it to be. Whether you train once a week or twice a day, you will be treated with respect by everyone. If you have ever had even the slightest interest in JiuJitsu or martial arts in general, regardless of your age, come check this place out. Don’t wait... One thing Off the Grid students all seem to have in common, is that we all wish we started training sooner.

This place was great. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door, we were able to roll with some very good upper belts, and the head instructor was a lot to fun to be around. I highly recommend this gym if you are on the space coast!

Off the Grid BJJ is clean, beautiful, well equipped, and located at a gorgeous site. Just as I drove in 10 miles on the causeway the sun and beach scenery just melt any bad moods away (even if your face is also melting from the car sauna). Frank was super welcoming, and surprisingly remembered me. He had very creative methods of drilling where he set handicaps which would improve both players fundamental understanding of key positions. Even his newest white belts reflected this knowledge, and the friendly environment was great. Having a bit of wear still on the ankles from a previous injury, I was a little worried about impulsively jumping into an open mat, but everyone, from the newest guys to the pros, was respectful and there to learn and get better. And thats a great environment to be a part of.

I love this place. Frank loves teaching Jiu Jitsu and his student compete on all the biggest stages. Super clean and literally a block away from the beach. I will always come back.

Tried to sign my daughter up. Visited the place a few times and no one seems to be around to help and/or there is no phone number.

This is the best place to train in the area. Seriously if you are in the area stop by try a class you will see what great vibes great rolls is. My entire family loves this place. Its so clean so much knowledge really its the best. Did i mention its 50 feet from the ocean lol. What are waiting for? go try a class.

I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else, the atmosphere you feel walking in for the first time makes any jitters you have go away instantly, and the level of talent is second to none. If you’re a first timer, or someone just relocating, this is the spot you’re looking for.

My 5 year old son took kid classes and absolutely loved them here. It was his first time doing anything like this in a group, and he started out shy and uncertain about the whole thing. Prof Frank had a way of reeling him in with his fun and outgoing personality, taking his time to let him adjust- and before I knew it my son was comfortable, smiling, and having a great time. I’d recommend Off The Grid to anyone, (young or old), who wants to have a great jiu jitsu experience with a professional in an extremely clean, well organized place.

Best BJJ gym in Brevard!

Off the grid BJJ was my introduction to BJJ and was an eye opening experience to the effectiveness of the sport. I sincerely enjoyed the time I have spent there, Frank is an awesome instructor along with everyone I trained with, I hope to get back to it soon. Frank welcomed me to his gym, a traveling white belt, and treated me as a regular and even rolled with me! When you open the door, you become part of the family no matter how long youre there for. Great environment and dope jams on the speakers during sparring.

Coach Frank runs a great school. Our family is in town for vacation and planned on a visit to this gym. The kids class was high energy and fun. Coach Frank is really engaged with the kids and uses many different methods to keep their attention. His many years of teaching kids classes really shows. The 2 hour adult class was great. Perfect warm up routine followed by some great technique. I picked up a few new details I had not seen before. Coach Frank took the time to go over the minute details that really make a technique work. Some instructors just hit the broad strokes with the lower belts. The gym was really clean with plenty of seating for parents during kids class. The 2 Fuji Mats are nice to work on and you could tell gym hygiene was a focus area. This school has an overall great vibe and welcome family feel. The kids and I were really well received and we would all definitely train here again.

Frank is a top notch BJJ practitioner and instructor, and easily owns the best BJJ school in the Cocoa Beach area. On top of that, everyone who trains there is super cool and respectful. Every time I find myself in the Cocoa Beach area I make it a priority to get in there.

Off the Grid is one of my favorite bjj schools. Frank and his students always welcome my teammates and I with open arms. I also have the pleasure of running into Frank at lots of competitions as he is always out coaching and helping his students. I look forward to visiting this school again in the very near future. I started training here after checking into a few gyms. The Members and coaches in this gym are super friendly and after a few classes have you feeling like a part of the family. The coaches have some of the smoothest technique I’ve seen anywhere and breakdown their techniques so even the newest members can understand it. Also if you’re on a budget this is one of the cheaper gym memberships in the area. Some of the other gyms charge more per month for two classes a week than what OTG BJJ charges for unlimited classes a month. They offer classes 7 days a week for adults(mon-Friday 6-8 and sat&sun 12-2) also they offer children’s classes 430-6 Tue-Thur. Ultimately, if you’re looking for a gym to get back in shape, learn to defend yourself, or just meet some good people I would highly recommend this gym!

I am blessed to have a professor that allows other talent to shine and teach us. He is a gifted teacher and we train with little or no ego. Thank you Frank.

Professor Frank was very friendly and his instruction was technical and well delivered. Everyone in the gym made a point to come greet me and introduce themselves to me. Ive never seen that before, and Ive been in a few gyms. It was obviously a gym rule. I thought that was really cool. But overall, great rolls, great atmosphere, and I am grateful they let me train. :)

OTG is such an awesome place to train. From the second you walk in you are greeted by one of the most friendly and enthusiastic black belts I have ever met. Seriously Frank smiles so much I wonder if his face hurts at the end of the day! The instruction is amazing, very technical and effective, proven moves that work.

Absolutely epic! More than ten out of ten! Travelled all the way from New Zealand to Florida to train with Frank and the team, and attend a seminar. Could not give them a better recommendation, nor could they be more welcoming. Its only 32 hours travel each way, so just a tad long to drop in on, but never say never........... Ossssss!!!!

My kids and I joined the gym back in October and as soon as we started the coach and all the students was real helpful and treated us like we was part of the family. The kids class has great discipline and structure that helps them have the Confidence that they need . Coach Frank is the kinda coach that is always there to help with getting the technical part of jujitsu no matter how many trys it takes you and is always encourages you (Thats in the adult class and kid class) to keep trying. My kids and I love the classes, and cant wait to learn more.

Definitely some positive vibes going strong at OTGBJJ. Unfortunately I was injured at the time of my visit and therefore was unable to train, but I stuck around just to watch. Frank has a workman-like approach to his craft and seems genuinely invested in the success of his students. Im definitely going to get on the mats with these guys next time I come through Cocoa Beach.

My 2nd home gym! My family visits Cocoa Beach 3-4 times per year, and each time I’m in the area, Professor Frank and his students welcome me with open arms! I don’t have a black belt instructor to train under back home, so every time I’m down, I make sure to book a private lesson(as well as attend as many classes/open mats as I can), and leave feeling like I gained a month’s worth of experience in a hour’s time!

After walking into gym after gym in the past, I can honestly say that OTG brings a new-age philosophy to martial arts that should have other instructors taking notes. On top of Coach Frank being super-friendly and welcoming, the entire group of students seem to share his demeanor, translating into a better learning experience on the mat. Coach Franks instruction is clear, consistent, and professional. If youre focused on real progression and dont want to have to deal with ego and attitude, go to OTG.

Amazing academy. The instruction and overall atmosphere is unlike anywhere else I have ever trained. Its like a tiki hut/jiu jitsu studio. Professor Frank is friendly, welcoming and extremely personable to everyone, regardless of their abilities. He takes the time to make sure everyone feels comfortable in the academy and always goes the extra mile to help anyone having difficulty with the techniques. And did I mention it is located across the street from one of the most beautiful beaches II have ever seen?
