Needed the shifter mechanism replaced in the center console of my mini-van. The part wasnt the easiest to track down. The shop found me some options, then got me scheduled for the work and everything went smoothly. I will come back to this shop for future repairs.
Here they scratched the heck out of my car with the arms of there lift on my passenger door an Denied any involvement an two hours after picking up my car from haveing the transmission fixed they blew a motor up that had less then five thousand miles on rebuild from beckly automotive down town Des Moines where i now wish i would have taken my car cause now i have to detain a lawyer cause they refuse to even return my phone calls after the damage they done to my car so ya personal skills a zero an workman ship zeoreo dont not take ya car here you will regreat it....
Excellent service at a fair price. The repairs were done right. The car was ready when they said it would be ready. It runs great! Thanks AAMCO!
Replaced flywheel and starter on my Ford F-150. Our truck now starts better than it has in years! Very honest/upfront pricing. (Beware: they do not accept checks. No biggie, but worth mentioning.) Thanks, Aamco!
Brought a salvage transmission in for a hotrod build. They had the transmission back to me rebuilt in a few days. Good price and service. Employees were all super cool to deal with. Id go there again for sure.
Great service and excellent prices. They are fair and upfront everything. Would recommend to anyone.
I was told my car had the infamous NIssan CVT transmission problem because of the groaning noise it was making. So I brought it to AAMCO Clive to find out if they could fix it or replace it, to the tune of nearly $4000.Marcy promised to get back to me that afternoon. When she called, she explained that her mechanics had gone over everything and assured me it was NOT the transmission, but bad wheel bearings in the front end. They also found a couple other minor problems. When I picked up the car, there was NO CHARGE.This shows the honesty and integrity of the AAMCO shop in Clive. They could have just gone ahead and said it was the transmission and replaced it or charged me a small fortune to try and diagnose and fix it.But they didnt. They didnt even charge me to tell me what the problem really was.My thanks to AAMCO for saving me a fortune. If you need any work doneon your car, you can trust AAMCO Clive. And Thanks, Marcy!
Beep Beep came highly recommended by my dad while we were visiting Iowa from Montana last week! We couldnt figure out what was causing our Blazer to slowly shut down while on the interstate, when the temperature outside exceeded 80* - what we thought might be the fuel pump was actually the distributor cap, spark plugs, wires, etc! They got us in late Wednesday morning and within 24 hours we were road-ready again! Marcy was particularly great, amazing customer service and so personable. Now our Blazer not only drives thru the heat, but its got a lot more get up n go! We are so happy, and made it back to Montana smoothly! Thanks, Beep Beep and the Aamco team!
Dont waste time or money here. Prices have gone up, and quality of work has gone completely down the drain. Love the owner, but the people he has under him cant be trusted.
Ummm, if you want a job in this industry then apply here, I was charged $155/hr
Rebuilt my transmission in my 2001 PT Cruiser. Very pleased with work. Recommend them.
Only place I will take my vehicles or send anyone to for Transmission work/services/rebuilds. Mark knows what hes doing and has a great team. Especially with the easy financing and warranty options.
They are not professional at all and the service was terrible. The manager in charge only wanted to maximize his own profits without caring the satisfaction of consumers. I went there on 07/06/2020 and asked them to check my car. They didnt find out the real cause and charged me more than 800 dollars. Obviously when I got my car back, the same issue happened again. Then they told me if I continued to let them fix my car, they would compensate all the money I paid but I would still need to pay extra 1000 dollars for fixing it. Of course I said no (Luckily later I got my car fixed for only $160 in another local store), then the manager just rejected any compensation and denied they did anything wrong. So I filed a dispute with my credit card company for this bill. It seems AAMCO knew how to handle this dispute very well, they were never afraid of it. I paid my price for not carefully choosing a repair shop, and just shared my experience, hoping that other people dont need to go through this.
I took my car in because my air conditioner wasnt working. I got a call a short time later, letting me know that there was nothing wrong with it. Another shop in town had forgotten to plug in the compressor again after they replaced my alternator. Being an older car, I fully expected it to need a recharge or a part replaced, and they could have easily sold me something that I didnt need. Their helpfulness and integrity will make me a repeat customer. If you are looking for an honest mechanic, check these guys out.
Great staff amazing service
This has become the go to mechanic for our family. Always straight forward, no run around, advice and pricing. Mark and his team have built a great business and you know that cause they are always busy. Glad to have found such a good auto repair shop.
Mark Beep Beep McCoy was the consummate host and business man.We were travelling through town when we had a problem. Mark invited my family to come in and make ourselves at home in his office. He explained in detail what he could do and had his team do exactly what he had explained. Fortunately the issue was minor and Mark and his team quickly resolved it for us. Mark is an inspiration in these days of minimal service. I encourage anyone that needs their car serviced to bring it to Mark and his team! What an incredible experience. Outstanding! Thank you Beep Beep!
Very courteous and friendly staff. They take the time to explain in detail what needs to be done.
Had my transmission rebuilt in October. It took a few weeks had to rebuild the entire transmission. I paid cash for the service and when I drove it, the shifts were extremely hard in first and overdrive. I was told it had a warranty so I took it back to get it repaired. This was the end of December. After three weeks Ive still havent got my truck back. I was told parts were ordered to fix it, but that was weeks ago. I have called twice this week and was told it would be fixed this week. I am very upset that it would take this long. I want my truck back. Can you please look into this matter for me. Thank you.
Good Customer Service.
Chad at aamco is probably the best transmission mechanic Ive met 10 out of 10 would recommend aamco in Clive. There professional and caring and will help you with needs and worries.
Great staff and quality service
Very professional and courteous. very competitive pricing . i would recommend and will use them in the future if needed . thanks for the great work kevin
They was real friendly and was quick to get us in and out as fast as possible, they was super convenient for us with staying on travel schedule. I would recommend this particular shop every day. Super friendly and top notch service. Almost makes you feel at home
I have taken my vehicles here twice in the last 6 months. I was impressed with the service. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There technicians are friendly and great at communicating the problem and the solution. My wife most recently stopped in with our 2 small children and she had a wonderful experience. I would happily recommend AAMCO to all my friends and family in the area!
Mark and his team know what theyre doing, they are one of the only shops around that is willing to take the extra step to help out customers as well. Whoever the younger gentleman there at the front area is very polite and tries to help out as much as possible as well. AAMCO is also willing to look over vehicles that you are interested in buying which I dont see many shops doing either. Thank you for being such an outstanding shop!!!
Traveling cross country for business when one of the catalytic converters broke down. Called this AAMCO and had it towed in. Service was prompt and friendly. They were able to fix it and we are now on our way again. The repair costs were very reasonable, the manager was professional, honest and friendly, and his offer to assist with any follow-up problems are very reassuring. I would recommend this business to any family, friends and anyone else needing assistance.
My transmission went out in my escalade I had my car towed on Tuesday and it was done on Friday. They did an amazing job and was very professional. I would recommend them to anyone.
Dead battery was restored within three hours. Pleasant service by professionals.
Got me in real fast for diagnostics, explained and showed me what needed to happen. Very easy and professional.
Aamco was amazing at diagnosing the issue with my Impala! Richard is a top notch technician!
They always do a great job taking care of our fleet vehicles and saved us thousands of dollars on transmission work this year!
Avoid this place at all costs!I took my car to this service shop twice and they completely screwed it up both times. Hear my stories:- The first time they told me there is a hole in my exhaust and I gotta get a new exhaust from them for $250. I was this close to do it but I thought maybe I should double check. So I took the car to Terrys Exhaust shop and they told me the hole is supposed to be there and its for warding off water. A year has passed from that day and I havent experienced any issues my exhaust.- The second time, I took my car here for a simple oil change. Nothing can go wrong from an oil change, right? WRONG! A week after that, my engine started to make weird noises for the first time in ten years. I took my car to Drake Garage and they told me there is not a single drop of oil in my car. They also checked for leakage but there was none! If this is not a scam, tell me what is. Oh, by the way, the second time I was there, a man came in and said his check engine light turned on again, minutes after he got his car back from this shop. You do the math.People at this shop dont know anything about cars and if you value your car, youd stay away from these crazy people for good.
Went In for diagnostic. Took 4 hours instead of one. The manager had an attitude definitely shouldnt be the face of the company he was very rude. Left there with more wrong with it then when I dropped it off. Definitely shady place.
Great service great people and fair cost! What more can you ask for! The manager will work with you which in my eyes is hard to find!
Beep Beep and his staff have been instrumental in keeping the vehicle my teenage drivers drive in an operable condition. Its not a luxury car - far from it, but I need it to be safe and I always leave the shop feeling good about the repairs that have been done. Thanks for the great service provided.
The transmission on my 33 foot motor Home started leaking as I was traveling through Des Monies on Thursday before memorial day weekend, I called four other repair shops and all said they could not work on a motor Home. I called the aamco shop and talked to Mark and he said bring it over and he would look at it. He let me camp in his parking lot that night.Long story shortened, he had to Jack up the motor Home in the parking lot to pull the tranny. Mark went way out of his way to be helpful. He and his crew were very friendly, I would recommend his shop to anybody.
Aamco Urbandale does my oil changes, and most of my repairs on both of my vehicles. They are honest, they go the extra mile to make sure they accommodate your schedule and transportation needs, they are affordable, and never try to up-sell me services that I may not actually need. I trust them, and they do a great job. Like the job they just did replacing my vans front blower motor, and a power window motor.
GREAT SERVICE: The team at the Urbandale location of AAMCO is extremely professional, very experienced and trustworthy. They were very helpful in keeping my foreign car with over 200,000 miles running for many years. The staff went above the call of duty and would pick me up or drop me off to accomodate my busy schedule as a business owner. I feel very comfortable when I pass out their cards to friends because I know they will take care of them. Give them a try!
Had my car towed from Kansas City to have my transmission rebuilt here. The communication was terrible and they kept telling me they were almost done with it and never gave me a followup call to let me know it would be delayed. Lost all respect for this shop when I went in on a Friday afternoon and found the manager sleeping in his office with his office door wide open. I rang the ring for service bell in the lobby and the manager woke up - looked at me and went straight back to sleep. They also failed to mention to me that my catalytic converter had been cut out when it was sitting on the side of the road during the holidays. I decided to take a look under my car to inspect what was going on with my exhaust and found that the mechanic that worked on my transmission completely forgot to tighten my transmission drain plug - so there was transmission fluid everywhere. Im hoping thats the only thing they did wrong. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless they dont value proper communication and customer service.
Beep Beep always does a great job whenever Im having car problems. Its nice to have the owners involvement with every step of the way. Thanks Beep Beep!
A big thank you to Mark McCoy and this team last week. My Yukons transmission went out south of Des Moines. We were driving from Arkansas to northern Minnesota to take my mom to her summer home Within 24 hours, Mark was able diagnose the problem, order the parts, and get us back on the road the next day. He even stayed late to get us on our way. AMAZING! Thank you, thank you, thank you. And just as he promised, the Yukon drove smoothly all the way to Minnesota and back to Fayetteville Arkansas.
Helped me with all my car needs at an affordable price. They also check around to see where you can buy parts the cheapest.
In the car fixin business, there is a lot of buyer beware thinking coming from the car owner needing help.AAMCO in Urbandale, IA gives the car owner the care and concern they deserve. They care and will fix your car. I trust this place. I think you will like them.
Beep Beep is a God send!! He really cares about my car and took his time to explain, in detail, what was wrong. I highly recommend Aamco Urbandale!
I have been going to aamco urbandale for more than 10 years now. In most places, theyre happy to get your car for an oil change. However, when you start requesting the shop to look into some strange noise or issue in your car, you usually get this feeling that theyre really not interested to do it because its too much work and the shop wont make a lot of money fixing it compared to a standard oil change. I am happy to say that at this aamco, I have never had that feeling. They seem like they are genuinely interested in helping you with your car issues.
My wife and I have been taking our Jeep to the Urbandale Aamco for more than a year now, and have found Mark and his employees to be very honest with us. Our last visit, a month ago, was no exception. He diagnosed an oil leak as a issue that was previously addressed and fixed it under warranty. He also informed us of a wheel bearing that needed replaced, but would cost about $350. We approved that repair. When he called to tell us everything was done, he said he had done further research on our past repair history and found the wheel bearing was actually fixed as part of a larger repair a few months back and would cover that under warranty as well.Had he charged us, we would have never known the difference, but he chose to be completely honest instead. Its the way every mechanic should operate, but not the way every mechanic does.We appreciate that, and will continue taking our car to Mark for work.
My husband took our car to Aamco to be fixed, and he loved the service he received! When he got home, he said, We will not take our cars any place else!
If you are looking for friendly, honest automotive work. This is the place to go!
Go to All Drive Transmission instead. Aamco sold my daughter a used transmission with absolutely NO WARRANTY! The owner said thats what they agreed to... and the paper work does say so... but still, there should be some responsibility by Aamco for problems arising after only 5 weeks. He wouldnt even give me the name of where he bought the used tranny for me to see if they had the usual 60 or 90 day warranty on their merchandise. Didnt want me to bother his supplier... and besides I told them over and over there was no warranty at all.Didnt even want to take it back to Aamco for them to look at it again. All Drive on MLK took a look at it and replaced the crappy old axle seals. All Drive says they always recommend new seals when they install a used tranny. Their supplier would have given a warranty of 90 days on a used tranny.Well, live and learn I guess. Glad I found a reputable and reasonable alternative to Aamco on Hickman.
Excellent customer service. And professional repairs.
Years of experience dealing with transmissions. ☮
I have used a lot of mechanics over the years and I have dealt with no one that is more honest than AAMCO on Hickman Rd. Mark and company go the extra mile to make sure their customers are taken care of in an honest and fair manner. I refer all of my contacts to them.
Always manage to fit me in. Only place to take my cars.
I wouldnt reccomend.
Bad attitude!!!!
Three times in and out to fix it
Unreliable.
