If this is for ACE rental car, it is a local scam company. If you use a third party booking site(Travelocity, etc) there is no mention of needing to have a return flight ticket in order to avoid a 100 mile per day cap, .25 per mile over fee. All correspondence makes no mention of this, you only find out if you click and read the exceptions tab online or they inform you once you are there.There are thousands of little companies out there fighting to compete with the big chains, its a shame to see one that is taking advantage of the large websites. Pretty sure they will not be able to maintain this if people are aware of their very deceptive business practices.UPDATE:Interesting as if this NOT your business you can cut/paste their policy? Im sure all businesses would do the same if their competitor truly was involved in bait and switch.Bottom line is this a small company that wants to advertise it offers the same a national chains, but you have to read their restrictions in advance. in order to catch their scheme. When you advertise Free unlimited miles like the other businesses consumers expect the same professional treatment. There was never any mention of out of state travel nor of the driver having an out of state license. All locals here, disappointed with this company.(IF someone did write about such a negative experience they had with a COMPETITOR of mine, I would contact them to get their business. One mans loss is another mans gain.)
Not sure about all the bad reviews, but me and my fiancé just rented from here a second time in a year. Always friendly and super helpful, even when we traveled with a 2 year old. They tell you about fees up front and even the toll fines. Also suggest to call them directly to get a discount which we will do next time. You just can please everyone; remember that!
Made a reservation 10 days ago for pick up today at 5pm. Just got a call from an employee of this rental car company that had a few questions. Was informed that their cars CANNOT be taken out of town. So I am scrambling now to find a rental at the last minute. Why would you wait until the day of pickup to call a customer to give rules. I will NEVER do business with this company again!!!! :(
This is the second time I used Auto Rental X-Press and both experiences were fantastic! I had relatives come from PA and rented a minivan both times. The vehicles are top of the line, very clean and run great!!! Prices for the rentals are the lowest and the staff are very professional, friendly and all around great. Any future rentals Auto Rental X-Press will be the first called!!!!!!!! Thanks for the service and experience. BEST RENTAL PLACE EVER!!!!!!!!
WOW – impressive company!!! Arrived in the St-Pete Clearwater airport to find nothing available, if you are carrying golf clubs. Economy Rent a Car had an actual car in the baggage claim area with their brochures and business cards on it. TAKE ONE AND CALL!!! Wes picked me up, helped with my luggage and golf clubs, took me to my rental car and loaded my luggage for me. After I signed the contract, Wes gave directions to avoid road construction and I was on my way. When I returned the car they took me to the front door at the airport for drop off. Did I mention they had the best price overall! It can’t get any easier than this! As a travel agent for 20 years – I found the diamond in the rough!!! ~Beth
A little out of the way if you are picking up the car. Be sure to have the $30 airport surcharge taken off your bill if you a local and renting from here. Try to go for the weekly rate. Much cheaper. Otherwise the cars are clean and the service was friendly.
If I could give a zero star rating I would. This company refuses to contact me in regards to a rental car that they charged me for, yet I never even picked up. I did not sign any paperwork, yet they charged me for a rental that was never used. The day I canceled my reservation, the rude female customer service representative assured me it would be canceled and taken care of. I had to run out to my car to grab my drivers license to finish the process and while I was out there, an elderly lady was telling the manager her car smelt of cigarettes and she could not be around the overwhelming smell. He told her she didnt smell anything and if she wanted a rental, she would take it and go. The manager and the staff were so rude in all situations, whether dealing with me or other customers. A man ahead of me was trying to pick up his rental and even though he had a confirmation paper, the manager kept telling his staff that they were wasting their time because he obviously did not book. The staff told the manger, he has a confirmation number, I just cant pull him up in the system. The manager flipped out and started yelling about how the customer needed to go elsewhere because the reservation is not at that office. The environment was very hostile and on top of having to deal with being treated poorly, I spent almost $200.00 on nothing. I have tried to contact their office multiple times, and even reached out to corporate but everyone refuses to even acknowledge my complaint. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau today since they wont respond.
I dealt with Karla and from the 1st time I called until we dropped the car off she was amazing. We werent the easiest people to deal with, our flight was late by 2 hours and we got lost dropping off the car (my fault) so she gets extra coo-dos. We had to call her several times on both cases and she answered her phone every time. I will use Economy every time! Thank you Karla!
I have rented twice from these folks and both times were great expierences. The cars were both nice late/current models, very clean, and they were able to arrange the size of vehicles to accomodate my family as well as pick us up late at night at the airport when our plane was late! Great folks, great cars, great prices. I highly recommend and will use their services again.

Great experience. They went above and beyond to take care of me twice. Once when my original rental company bailed on me. Then, when I lost my wallet they had a copy of my DL on file so I could board my flight. Thats customer service.
Ive never had a more dreadful rental car experience in my life. Economy rent a car in Toronto has the worst staff Ive ever met, charged me exorbitant and unnecessary fees, and treated me like a nuisance. Stated fee of $65 for five days and ended up paying almost $450 when I spent a quarter of a tank of gas and went down one toll lane costing $4. Absolutely despicable and couldnt rate them lower. I have never even written a product review but I couldnt stay quiet about this one.
Rented a luxury/full size car through priceline only to show up at this place and have them give me a Toyota Yaris! The employee that picked us up from the airport was nice at first but when the issue arised his demeanor changed (learn better customer service) Also received a bill in the mail a month later for TOLL VIOLATIONS! What! Could the rental agency at least have explained this for a person who isnt a Florida resident??!!!! Long story short, id never go back to this place for a rental!!
After being extremely underwhelmed by the Big 3 rentals with stands at the airport I found an advertisement for Economy. 1They were fast efficient and friendly everything I hoped for I was surprised by the bad reviews and can only think they are from other rental agencys I look forward to my next rental

PLEASE READ!!!! I wish I would have heeded the reviews that I read. But, since I reserved through Expedia I didnt think I would have a problem. It was the worst customer service that I have ever experienced.I walked into the office and there were three young individuals sitting behind the counter. One was looking and typing on her phone, one was talking on the company phone (to a client) with his feet propped up on the counter, and the other (closet to the entrance) was looking at his computer screen. No one even acknowledged that I had walked into the office even though he looked at me. I continue to walk up to the counter when he yelled at the other guy who was on the phone with the client; you tell him he has to be here by 9am or the car is not his! At this point, Im standing at the counter and he looks back at his monitor and then back to me and says; what do you need today. He might have been having a bad day, but he could at least smile or say hello or something. I told him that I had a reservation to pick up a car. He looked at my license and then back at his screen and said okay, I can get you in a car and its 100 miles per day. I said, No, its unlimited mileage. Ive got it right here on my reservation. I showed him my reservation that says unlimited miles and he said, You must not have read the restrictions. I said yes I did and it doesnt say anything about paying to extra mileage. He then turned his monitor around so I could see the screen and went to the restrictions page on Expedias website. He couldnt find anywhere in there about a cap on mileage either. He then said; well, Expedia does that all the time and there is nothing I can do about it. I will have to charge you extra for mileage. Do you want me to add that to the amount? I said absolutely not. I will go get a car somewhere else because Ive book through Expedia many times and never been charged mileage. He said; Okay then.I went outside the office and made another reservation with another company and had to pay a little bit more since it was last minute. I had Uber come pick me up from there and take me to the other rental location, and wound up being an hour and a half late to my destination. I have had good experience with Expedia in the past, and I know this has nothing to do with Expedia but I wish they would no longer suggest this company.
This place is horrible and they nickel and dime you for every little thing...mileage.. Roadside assistance..etc...when I received my car it was dirty and when I received my car back and I advised them if the condition the one agent just look at me with no comment ot apology... Smh.. This place is horrible...never again..
Terrible customer service, and make sure you bring the declaration page of your car insurance(No rental place out there ask for that) if not they force you to buy there insurance......Not inside the Airport in Lauderdale, in a not safe, remote location, stay away from this place, not worth it.
