Needed a company to get me up to date on my fire system at my restaurant and they were the first to return my call so I went with them. What a mistake for not shopping around. After being told my original price was $235 it was bumped up well over a $1000 after the technician added on his entire 2 hours of labor and “parts” he tacked on. 2 weeks later the suppression system went off in my kitchen spraying fluid all over my kitchen with no explanation (no equipment turned on ) Have had the business over 10 years and never had this problem. Silco gets their hands on my equipment and now we have issues. When I called Shane the supervisor about the situation, he wasn’t willing to help out at all. Basically told that it’s $1200 to fill with chemical and maintenance the system. The supervisor didn’t even bother to come to the business to assess the situation, just wrote me off. You would think there would be some kind of effort to retain a customer but I suppose not.

Recently had a couple dealings with Silco. Last week over night, our CO detector activated and an alarm was triggered. I was able to stop the alarm in the morning & when I called the operator said there was no code showing there was a problem. We were going to have people in our facility that evening & I said I would be more comfortable if someone could take a look. Two young fellows came out & inspected for me. The one fellow, Alex, was very nice & suggested that the CO monitor be replace because of age. Both Alex and his partner were went through to make sure we were safe & that there would be no problem. Alex was to have the scheduling person call to schedule a convenient time to replace the CO detector for us.Tuesday 12-22-2020 I received a call from Silco that it was time to schedule the inspection of our emergency lights & exit signs. It is sometimes hard to schedule too far out. The fellow said he had some time next week & that it will take several hours to complete. We were available 12-23-2020 after 12 noon. Im assuming Bobby was working with Earl, because I heard Bobby yell to Earl. Bobby asked Earl if he was busy on Wednesday afternoon and asked if he could help do the inspection. Apparently Earl said yes because Bobby & Earl showed up on time & did our inspections.Thank you, Alex & partner, Bobby & Earl for working around our erratic schedule.

Had a leak on one of our backflow preventers. Called Courtney at Silco and she had a technician, Kevin, at our facility within 20 minutes. Kevin quickly swapped out the defective pressure tap resolving the issue.

I contacted Silco Fire & Security on 10-21-2020 to re-certify our fire extinguishers. Their representative Jamie contacted me the same day and guaranteed me he would be at our facility the same week or the following; for reference our fire extinguishers expired at the end of the month. Jamie never showed and our fire extinguishers lapsed meaning we risked failing a fire inspection audit. I left a voicemail for the company on 10-30-2020, but received no call back. I called back on 11-02-2020 and they were unaware of any voicemail left. At this time it is unclear if they will ever perform the inspection or if we will need to seek another company. It should be noted that the office does not schedule the employees, but rather the employees schedule themselves, which is a completely backwards business practice. Not only that, but the office couldnt get ahold of Jamie by phone, but rather by email, which is another completely backwards business practice. Unfortunately, at this time, I cant give a better review as they cant even give an ETA when services will be performed since they can only reach their technician by email. Corporate took zero ownership of the failure and simply stated they didnt know when Jamie would call nor did they know when Jamie would be able to schedule.UPDATE: Silco Fire & Security did end up showing on 11-02-2020 to re-certify our fire extinguishers. However, while I do appreciate that they remedied the situation after my call, they still had extremely poor execution. I was assured Jamie would call, yet no one called; instead, a different technician arrived without any notice. One of our fire extinguishers is in a locked room that houses our servers and the individual who holds this key was out of the office when the unannounced technician arrived. While we were still able to get the room unlocked, it did provide confusion and annoyance due to the lack of communication. A simple call (as promised) would have ensured the right staff were present to assist, but alas that did not happen. Despite the issue being remedied, my review stands due to the lack of communication and failure to execute promises.

We found Silco and they contacted us back right away. We now have several appointments set up. We will update after we see how it all went. Our Silco Sprinkler Technician, Jason Smith, just completed an air compressor line replacement project at our facility. He replaced a plastic air line with steel pipe. Each piece of pipe was cut and threaded in order to follow the route of the original plastic pipe. Under less than ideal conditions with restricted access and while working among our tenants and office staff, Jason completed the project without disrupting our operations..He was able to keep our system up and running during the whole process. Although he was confronted with many obsticals and unforeseen conditions, he relentlessly pushed through and did not stop until the project was complete. His determination, craftsmanship and professionalism resulted in a quality job. This was not the first time Jason has worked on our sprinkler system and it wont be the last. We usually ask for him by name. Do yourself a favor and call Silco first for all of your sprinkler, security and controlled access needs. you will not regret it!

SILCO Tech Bobby Keeney oversaw our inspections. This was a four day ordeal. Our overall satisfaction level is 10 out of 10. Great service and more importantly through follow up service. Today was fire inspection day at the small apartment building in South Euclid and once again like it has been for the last 10 years Silco Fire was up for the task at hand as they always are where my inspections are concerned.
