I have been a customer of Guardian Alarm for many years. Recently I had my control panel upgraded. The technicians, Justin and Jim, were knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. They made sure I understood how to use the new panel and the new app. I have only had positive experiences with Guardian Alarm and recommend the company to anyone looking for a home security system.
I have been a customer of Guardian Alarm for many years now and have had a wonderful experience with their service. My relationship started when I met Scott Frenchik, my sales & marketing person. He is very honest and provides the products and services that I requested. I was never oversold and have had regular communication with Scott as we bought & sold residential and commercial properties. I use Guardian Alarm exclusively for all of our properties. I have had a couple of service calls and Guardians technicians always have resolved our problems. Overall, I am very satisfied with my Guardian Alarm experience and would highly recommend Scott to work with in customizing your property alarm needs. Thank you Guardian Alarm and Scott!
We have been with Guardian Alarm for many years. In that time they have been an exceptional company to work with. Recently we had an upgrade installed to our system and it has had a few bugs, but the people at Guardiian Alarm have been more than helpful in working these out. I feel that the system will get better and better!
I signed up on a door to door solicitation. I told the salesman I would only live in the house for 2 more years. The salesman told me they were interested in participation in my neighborhood and the only requirement was to put the alarm sign next to the front door for 2 years and pay an install fee. The two years I was present I had over 10 false alarms from the back door that no one could solve, some I caught, many I did not which ended in fees of $500 to the local police dept for false alarm calls. When I sold the house I called to cancel and was notified that I had signed up for 5 years, not two as the salesman had told me. I looked at my paper work and there it was, 60 Months and I initialed it, because I trusted the salesman. They then tried to charge me $1100 to terminate the contract, I talked them down to $500 by making the guy look at all the service problems I had and he acted like he was doing me a favor by my taking the reduced rate. RUN DO NOT WALK from this company.
Waited two times for service person to come didnt show up, keep passing you over to supervisor, who doesnt return calls, after 4 calls finely got supervisor when were thinking about cancelling service, supervisor helped in solving problem with out coming to home.
DO NOT USE THEM!!!! After 10 years of service ($6000+) and being told the system (once paid for) would operate locally without monitoring - they have disabled the system as I have elected to end monitoring (they never called when alarm went off in the last 2 years). For the price of an outdated system and poor service - there are better options available. Move on and avoid them at all costs!!!!!
We have been Guardian Alarm customers for many years after they took over ownership from Cincinnati Bell but we hardly heard a peep from them until last year when they sent us a letter saying we qualified for an upgrade to our system and would be able to get special pricing. We called, the salesperson came and pitched a system with upgraded features but not only was the up front cost $500 to $1,000 but our monthly rate would double. After getting a couple of more estimates we decided to to go with a different provider that was half the monthly cost of Guardian. I called to cancel our service in the Sept/October 2018 time frame and told them we were switching but they kept trying to send me to a retention specialist. I finally just sent them a cancellation notice through their website message/question board explaining that I was not happy and terminating my service. I never did hear back from them. Come 2019 and I find they are still billing my credit card for a monthly fee. On January 11th I call them to complain, cancel service and ask for a credit but once again customer service says they cannot cancel without having me talk to a retention specialist so after waiting on hold for about 25 minutes they tell me they are busy and will call me back so I leave my information. No one calls me back until two and a half weeks later upon which I explain everything again and they finally agree to cancel my service but will not give me back credit for any prior billed months because they did not have a record of my calling in the Fall of 2018. They said only their billing department could give a credit so they transfer me to them but they were not authorized to give any credit either and told me I was still being charged because I had to give them a thirty day notice to cancel. A credit back to the original time I called and notified them would have been less than $100 but instead I now have to write a negative review and get in touch with the Better Business Bureau. Lousy customer service led to this and I would now never recommend them to anyone.
We have been a customer of guarding alarm for over 20 years. We are thankful for the excellent customer service. We feel like they truly care.
Ive been with Guardian Alarm for several years now they seem to be a a great company I recommended the people all the time
Beware when cancelling your service. They will tell you that they will continue to monitor your service until the 30-day notification period is over. Then, they will cancel your services immediately, and you basically pay Guardian 30-days for providing nothing (which come to think about it, is why Im leaving and Im not sure why I am surprised). Very unclear information from the person whom I spoke with on the phone about 15 days ago. 4 years as a customer, and their thanks is you can pay more money to reactivate the service for the next 15 days or you can go away. Good riddance.
I have been a Guardian customer for nearly a decade and we have nothing but good things to say. We recently wanted to upgrade to a wireless/non-landline system. Ken was the inside sales rep that took care of me. He was able to work out that our system could upgrade at a low one time cost and a small increase in monthly rate for the change in monitoring. It was still less than maintaining a land line just for our system. AND it is now more secure as a cut phone line or disabled wifi wont keep an alarm from being sent out! I appreciate Kens efforts and taking the time to work with me. Install was quick, the technician very efficient and professional. All in all, I am a very satisfied customer!
After being a customer for over 5 years and paying monthly for monitoring I recently came home to my backdoor wide open with no notification. The system saw the door was opened however when I called I was told that they didnt know why they didnt get the alarm.I was then asked of I wanted them to send a tech to investigate. After discussing with the representative that I didnt want to pay for charges for the fix I was told there was no charge if it was an equipment issue. When the tech arrives an hour late he cant figure out what went wrong... But for a new 36 month agreement he would replace the radio which might have bad service. After speaking with the tech and sales team we shared our frustration with the fact that the problem wasnt assuredly fix and that I didnt want to sign up for a new 36 month term as they were incapable of providing the service I had been paying for.As it stands now I get no empathy for my situation, charges that I never agreed to keep coming and I am being presented with the option of a new agreement. After years of great service I have had a terrible experience and will discontinue service
This company is awful and the entire service is a sham. In our three years with this company (locked in by contract) the service was subpar, requests for assistance were met with rude reps only interested in charging money for equipment or onsite visits, and the last year of our contract was essentially fillled with numerous equipment issues which caused the alarm to randomly go off throughout the day (and night) due to a signal interruption that (you guessed it) they wanted to charge us for. Oh by the way (as mentioned by others) when you call to cancel this farce they will refuse to cancel your service so they can place you on a retention list for 30 days, all for the purpose of charging you another month. Run from this company!
A manager did contact me after this post and handled all of my issues, thank you Guardian!
