Our company uses some flex office space here and it does the job perfectly for what we need it for!
I cant recommend this place for a variety of reasons. I took my MacBook Pro there to have the battery replaced. It was 50% higher than the Apple Stores price. They also told me when dropping it off that it was going to be about $50 less than what it ended up being. Apples cost quoted $200. They told me originally $250. It ended up being $300 (like $299.23).That said, I believe the $50 discrepancy was simply an honest mistake on the young ladys part. They were prompt with the repair and it took about a week. The set timing expectations and lived up to that standard. The secondary issue, which both presents a value issue and quality issue is that my hard drive was toast when I got the machine back. I had to return it again to have the hard drive replaced. I dont think they are a chop shop nor was anything intentional about this. It happened, but at the same time, I think they could have caused it and should have taken some onus for it.To the repair of the drive: they were nice about it, but just said theres nothing they did that could have caused it. It was more happenstance than not they put it. I understand that its possible that it just went, but it sorta a poor response. Just happens seems like it may have an expediting component. In fairness: They discounted the drive during replacement nor charged me labor to be fair and did the repair quickly. That said, my drive was fine when I dropped it off. I took time off for work to replace it, plus my total bill was $150 more than at Apple (vs $200 for battery only).Value and quality are questionable. Id stick with just sending it to Apple next time.
Battery was overheating. I called Apple and they said it was too old. Called computer DNA and they wanted $600 to replace the battery.Encore not only resolved my issue but upgraded my system to the latest OS and now it works great. Very reasonably priced as well! I highly recommend Encore!
Attended training at Encore. Facilities and instruction was top notch. As a bonus, we had a data center tour. I now know where I will try to hunker down during WW3
Kevin and his team were very informative and helpful when I needed my laptop data backed up.
Data center work is always on par with the best.
Great customer support! Pip was especially helpful.
I wanted to take advantage of Apples discounted rate to replace my iPhone battery. The Apple website steered me to Encore Technologies, which seemed to have the benefit of not having to go to the Apple Store. I set up an appointment. The next day Encore sent me an email confirming my time, which was different than what I signed up for. I corrected the time (no big deal) and then asked just to check, I am getting the $29 replace battery program through Apple?Encores response stated Please send us the serial # of your phone and we can check with Apple to see if the battery would be under the replacement plan, which I did minutes after the request. Four days later I had not heard back from Encore, so I went to the appointment. When I arrived the man at the desk informed me that Encore does not do $29 battery replacements, but that they are $60+ (even though this is not specified on the Apple website nor on the confirmation email from Apple nor in the confirmation email from Encore!). I showed him the email from Encore requesting my serial # (which, again, I sent you), and he said that I should take it up with Global Headquarters. This was entirely avoidable: a simple response to my email from Encore informing me why they cannot offer the $29 replacement would have done the trick. Instead, their response suggested that assuming I had a phone covered under Apples discounted repair plan (I do) I would get the rate. That was misleading and false. The upshot is that I wasted half an hour of my workday for a totally avoidable reason. Its a lack of transparency that I wouldnt expect to get away with at my work.
I left my MacBook air at Nov 3 morning, this shop did not call me in 24 hour. so I visited the store and asked how long will you take, they answer they have 3 laptop before me.Tuesday, they do not call me where MacBook have problem. How long do I wait?
My MacBook Pro needed a costly repair, and Kevin with Encores location off Kennedy Ave in Norwood was able to diagnosis the issue and fix it. There were no hidden fees, or fees for the initial assessment, and they were able to hold on to my computer until I was able to pay them. The service was top-notch, friendly, and prompt; I found my experience here to be infinitely better than any Ive had at the Apple Store in Kenwood. If youre having issues with your Mac, be sure to pay these guys a visit!
I recently had a logic-board replaced in my Macbook Pro at Elan Technologies. My experience with Elan was fantastic! The service was professional and fast and my Macbook works like new! I would recommend them to anyone looking to have a Mac product serviced and or repaired.
Recently, my 5 year old MacBook Pro 2012 failed, kernel panic. AppleStore said most likely the logic board failed, and offered $500 flat rate repair without the warranty. Encore Tech, however, dignosed that it was a defective hard drive cable, which was replaced a month before. It was repaired at a fraction of the Apple flat rate. Now, the MBP works wonderfully.Strength:technical know-howcommunicating with client about the problem at handfriendly servicecost of serviceease of appointmentWeakness:timeliness* I will update if a problem with the current repair occurs.Aug. 1st, 2018This is another review apart from the previous one. My 2012 MBP was having more issues, apps failing, MBP slowing down, and unintended reboots. I know this is an old laptop, and Ive been trying to squeeze more years to the life of my laptop. After testing, Encore figured out that it was my RAM (16 GB, RipJaws) that was failing. RAM was replaced with an in-house RAM while I was getting a replacement (warranty) from RipJaws, so that I could continue to use my laptop in the mean time. After the replacement RAM arrived, Encore installed them in. Now, everything works beautifully. Thanks, Encore.
I have never personally been to Encore Technologies, but Im doing research on tech companies in the area. I noticed complaints on how long it takes these people to repair Apple products such as Macbooks, and I feel as if people need to know that there is only so much that IT can do when it comes to Apple repair. Apple products are MADE TO BE UNREPAIRABLE. Thats how Apple is as successful as it is. They sell products at a higher cost for lower value, and make all the parts built into the computer. You see, this is an issue when it comes to repairing Apple products. It makes it so that technicians such as myself have a much much more difficult time repairing damages on the computer. With a normal computer, a repair can be as easy as replacing a part or two. With an Apple product, a technician is forced to HAND REPAIR the parts. Most of the components that Apple computers have are soldered onto the board, which makes repairs borderline impossible. So in the future, before you post a bad review about a repair company because they were slow in repairing your Apple product, blame Apple, because theyre the ones who made it take so long. In addition, Ive linked a website called ifixit, that explains the difficulty of repairing Apple products, using the Macbook Pro 15 computer as an example. Apple is even rated 1/10 in repairability across all their products. I say again, as a technician, blame apple and not the repair guys.
Great computer things
Superior service, plenty of parking
