Please read my story before you use Aspen Roofing and Siding. This is the worst business and owner I have ever worked with. My only recourse appears to be to warn others via my own experience as the owner refuses to refund my money despite providing him three opportunities to fix the work. The owner is not disputing the job is bad. Rather he’s knows it’s bad and says all he can offer is to fix it because he states he can’t afford to return my $5,000. The photos speak for themselves as this was the product I received after patiently working with the company through three attempts to redo the work. When I signed a contract on March 20th, Randy ensured me the work would be done in one month, he would deliver siding color samples in one week, and would personally oversee the job to ensure I received a great product. None of this occurred. Siding samples were never delivered, work did not begin until May 13th, and when it did subcontractors showed up with a siding color I never approved. Randy did show up that day to ask for more money and a promise the job would be finished by Friday. That didnt happen. There’s install issues with the siding, gutters, the casings around my windows are missing, and four sets of shutters were trashed without my permission. The frame around my garage door has also been damaged which cost me $250 to repair. What work that has been done looks horrible despite being redone two and three times while my yard was consistently left in disarray with pieces of gutter, nails, and aluminum coil scattered about. My son’s foot was almost impaled by a sharp piece of trim coil. The siding warps in the sun, gaps exist between the siding and trim, and the trim looks like it was beat by a hammer. I have repeatedly asked Randy for my $5,000 back, but he insists that he cannot afford to reimburse me which seems odd considering his excuse for my poor job is that he has too much work to do. Everything he did to my house needs to be replaced. Every contractor that has looked at this job says it’s the worst they’ve ever seen. Handymen driving by my house have even stopped and offered services to fix it as it just looks that bad. Before you ever use this company consider these facts. Aspen is no longer accredited by the better business bureau because of the number of complaints received and Randy Jones lack of response to those complaints. There are four lawsuits active in Hamilton County against Randy for breach of contract. Also Randy and his employees are providing google reviews for his business to try to get his rating back up. There are at least five reviews I can identify here that are either from Randy himself or one of his contractors. Also know that Randy sub-contracts out all of his work. Please do your homework before using this company. Aspen’s website will tell you how much they value building relationships and treating you like family. However, my experience has been anything but.
Working with this company has been a painful experience. Its been 8 months and the job is not finished, and the work completed to this point is incredibly sub-par. I repeatedly gave the owner opportunities to make it right, and he failed at every point. Now my only recourse is to share my regret for hiring this company. They have terrible communication, hire unprofessional sub-contractors, negotiate in bad faith, wont fix the terrible work they do or the damage they did to personal property, and theyll take forever to get the job done (if they get it done at all) and give excuse after excuse. At the end of the day, there is no acceptable excuse for a contractor to ghost a client when the job is unfinished and there are mistakes still to be fixed. They also made drastic design decisions to cut their cost without even consulting me. The owner admitted after the fact (when he was getting aggressive over wanting full payment in advance of our final walkthrough was scheduled for a couple days later) that the siding they used was double the price of what was initially quoted. So he chose, from the beginning, not to address that with me, but to instead cut corners to save himself money. He kept trying to tell me he thinks their work looks great, but Ive had several siding contractors out here to quote finishing the job and fixing it the mistakes, and every one of them spotted the issues and the cost cutting that was done without me having to say a word.Ironically, I got a call in March 2020 from some type of office worker asking why I hadnt paid my balance 😂. I had to explain to them that they never finished the job that they started in August 2019. What a train wreck this company is.Photos show a couple of the many bad mitre joints (there are many more), one of the many terrible gaps in the the trim, the motion sensor they broke (and didnt tell me), and a ridiculously trimmed window that has way too many joints (near the top-no doubt done to cut their costs by joining scrap pieces together).
Came over an hour late without calling. I saw him walking around my yard with his girlfriend. Didnt even come up to the door to greet us. For a simple siding project he said it would be around 5 grand. Ahhaahaha the next guy I called did it for 875 bucks and that included labor. No wonder the guy is a felon now!
FYI - If you had a roof installed by Aspen Roofing & Siding, double-check to make sure your warranty was registered. Ours was not and we are currently doing the paperwork. We had our roof installed in July 2018, and had issues arise during the initial visit and completion of work. During the inspection they opened the backyard gate without any communication with us and let our dogs out, which resulted in a frantic chase around multiple neighborhoods. During the installation, a section of the work had to be redone as the removal of a chimney was not completed, and after looking at the finished job in daylight, they had installed the incorrect color shingles. When this was brought up to them, they did not offer to correct the issue, but instead offered to paint my house for the cost of paint. We have not heard anything since. We have also had ongoing condensate issues with a skylight this the roof was replaced.
I worked with Randy and Aspen for a few months and it was a horrible experience. Phones would ring he said they were leads but most were previous customers calling to let him know they were gonna sue him for the horrible job he did on their home.. he never paid his people on time if at all . Always showed up late in the afternoons when everyone in office been waiting on him since 8 am . Always had an excuse to make himself look good or look like the victim . Every Friday was pay day but randy was never to be found for hours .. job sites were left in horrible conditions nails everywhere in backyards. Would leave stacks of shingles in a customers yard for weeks on weeks .. good contractors don’t Want to work with him due to how he pays.. Office staff was horrible at their jobs had no experience or training and Randy was so far behind on everything .. let’s just sayHis chosen lifestyle isn’t fit for a owner of a company So be careful there are plenty of true roofing companies out there with good owners don’t waste your time with thisOne
We had a great experience with this company. They were able to get out to us quickly after a storm to assess the damage and give us an honest and reasonable quote. After deciding to go with them, they were very professional and did a great job of putting on our new siding. We appreciated their suggestions of colors along the way and are very happy with how it turned out. We would definitely use them again!
ASPEN roofing did an amazing job replacing our siding from storm damage! Randy suggested a color and we went with it and love it!! The job was done in about 3 days which was very quick and the whole crew was very nice. We are very happy with the finished project and would highly recommend!
Several stipulations described in the contract were not completed as outlined in the contract. Lack of communication, appropriate knowledge, integrity and ethical oversight in operation of business. Inept workmanship. All the work Aspen did had to be redone. The roof was more reliable before Aspen replaced it.
Id like to start by saying I hate leaving bad reviews, but I could not let another person go through the experiences that we have been through with Aspen Roofing. *Avoid using this company AT ALL COSTS.* Our experience was one problem after another. They started by telling us our roof would be completed within a week—it wasnt started till over a month after (no big deal, we understood were in the middle of pandemic, etc, etc). Then, the work. We signed a contract that said the gutters would be included in the price that we signed for. This is why we decided to use Aspen because we thought it was a great value. Well, apparently the contract does not matter. With work already underway, we were asked to pay additional for the gutters, even though the contract said it was included. Feeling threatened by the repercussions of lesser quality work if we didnt acquiesce to the additional cost, we reluctantly obliged. Then, the workers. A worker was throwing up aggressively in our backyard, trash was left, thats fine whatever get the job done. Our roof was exposed to the elements when work suddenly stopped with no explanation—several sunny & rainy days passed before work resumed. Our hydrangeas were ruined from ladders getting moved all around. Holes were punched through our siding from a ladder — that was never fixed by Aspen. Fast forward two months, we are getting ready to sell our house and the sellers had an inspection. There were several items that did not pass a third-party roofers inspection. People make mistakes so we offered Aspen to come out and fix it since its under warranty. RADIO SILENCE. We still have yet to hear back from Randy and his team after sending the inspection reports and what needs to be done.If youd like your sanity do not hire this company to do any work for you. Aspen does not operate under any standard of ethics appropriate for any business.*Edit: The owner, Randy Jones, has given himself 5-star reviews.
No longer located at this address owner will not move or mark the business as closed.
Randy Jones and the crew did an amazing job tearing off the old roof, adding proper attic venting, installing a new roof and gutters in two days with zero mess left behind. My house looks gorgeous! Beautiful update!
Aspen just finished my whole house siding and trim and I couldnt be more happy! I have received many compliments from friends and neighbors. Although it took a few months for them to get started because they were so busy, it was worth the wait! Randy kept me updated continually. Couldnt be more pleased with the end results. Im having trouble trying to post a picture.
They were on time and answered all of our questions, before we even committed to them… “We are here to help” was the first thing they told us! Our ventilation system is better and noticing a difference already ! NO OTHER COMPANY NOTICED WE HAD A FAILING VENTILATION SYSTEM
5 star experience! Best in greater Cincinnati. They don’t take the easy way, they don’t do short cuts & they DONT take their time. Best bang for your buck!!
Aspen Roofing was extremely professional and courteous. I was given an excellent price, and quality craftsmanship, they treated us like family, with respect and honesty. Will definitely recommend and be using again for all my roofing/gutter needs!!!
Recently had Aspen install a roof and gutters. I left a great review because they made a lot of good promises. Randy is who we contracted with.First off, they are terrible at scheduling. The job took far too long, and they would show up out the blue. The dont return calls timely and show up whenever they feel like. The roof itself was put on well. The guys who did it were experienced. The problem is the gutters. They were completely screwed up I have downspouts the are beat on with a hammer to the point of reshaping them. They are out on backwards and now water leaks down the side of my house. They also put a color on without consulting me. My wife threw a fit. They didnt seal any of the cracks either. A very poor job.I urge you to stay away from this company. Hopefully they improve but not holding my breath. Also good luck on getting a call back. They forged my signature on documents as well.
Our job was mismanaged and filled with unkept promises. I am very disappointed with the poor workmanship and professionalism to uphold the contract. I’ve been waiting 4 months to have repairs made to poor quality work and all I’ve received are excuses. Happy to update this review as actions change.
Had a new roof installed about 2 years ago. Very happy at the time. But two leaks are now occuring. Randy came out and agreed to fix them both. Never heard back. After 2 months i called him. His phone mailbox is full so you cant leave a message. Finally reached him on his cell phone and after i explained that our leaks were getting worse, he hung up on me and refused to answer subsequent calls. Something has gone terribly wrong with this business and its owner. I can only guess. Please dont even think about using this company.
Aspen Roofing was extremely professional and very timely in every aspect of the process. Randy came out initially to inspect the damage and figure out the game plan. He kept me informed the entire time as to what was going to happen next, when the crew was going to be there and everything went better than expected. The crew did a fantastic job on the roof, gutters & down spouts and did a very nice job cleaning up. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone in search of a professional company for their roofing/siding needs!! A+ service all around- thank you Randy!
I hired a different company about 4 months ago & they essentially ran off with my money. I called ASPEN in desperation to get my roof fixed, because there was a constant leak that was creating more damage. I explained to them that the other company had ran off with my money and that I was very low on money. They informed me that they offered financing and that I wouldnt have to make any payments until the job had been fully completed. I was worried that I wouldnt get accepted, because my credit score was not the greatest but it wasnt the worst either though. They accepted me and covered the full price. Aspen did an amazing job on my roof! And with me getting approved through financing, I didnt have to start making payments for a month and that gave me time to save up some money. The payments were very reasonable and the type of loan I got approved for... I could make payments as I wanted and there was no set payment per month. I didnt even know places allowed you to make payments on you own time as long as you paid it all of by a certain time. This entire experience has changed my whole outlook on contractors. Im glad that there are still honest people in this world! If you need to hire a contractor, ASPEN is your company!!!!!
Aspen replaced our roof in November of 2017. Their pricing was extremely competitive and they were able to schedule the install quickly. As promised the entire roof (5,000 sq ft home) was replaced in a single day and the final clean-up, which was very thorough occurred the following day. The roof looks great! The owner, Randy, made a follow-up visit a couple of days later and promptly addressed a couple of outstanding issues. We have since recommended Aspen to several friends without hesitation. A couple of weeks ago a small issue arose that needed to be addressed right away. Once again, Randy sent a crew in last week for immediate resolution. Great experience!!!
Very happy with the finished product and professionalism! Will and have recommended Aspen to friends and family. Jacob Wires made everything easy!
The house we bought needed a new roof put on before closing. We had limited time for the new roof to be put on to not interfere with the closing and inspection. Randy provided excellent service walking us through the process. The key here is that these guys got our new roof on before closing! Highly recommend Aspen Roofing!
Randy and his team at Aspen went above and beyond in taking care of me and my roof. I got a great deal on my roof and am VERY happy with how it looks. I highly recommend using Aspen for your roofing and siding needs
We entered into contract with Aspen to replace fascia and gutters and provided a deposit of $3,800 in March 2020. We were told the work would be done within a month or so from the contract date. We spend the better part of March and April trying to get Randy to schedule our work. On May 11th, 2020 Aspen sent a crew to our house and without permission ripped off siding to the front and side of my house above the garage before we were able to stop them. We had no intentions of replacing our siding, nor does our contract with Aspen include any work other than fascia and gutter replacement. The day the damage occurred I sent Aspen a letter explaining they are responsible for the damage and I expect all siding replaced because existing siding could not be matched. Over the phone, in person and in an email Randy stated he would replace all siding at no additional cost since new siding will not match existing siding and the original siding is damaged and unable to be reused. However, he has been avoiding my calls since May 15th and has made no effort to repair the damage caused to my house. Every time I call him he is very short, says he is busy, needs to get off of the phone and states he will call me back… though he has never called me back to discuss a plan to complete the original contract or complete the repairs to the damage he caused to my siding. I’ve provided a demand letter on May 26th, 2020 detailing my expectations for the repair and I’ve provided a letter on June 3rd, 2020 with deadlines for completion, of which no action was taken by Aspen. Despite already taking a $3,800 deposit for the fascia and gutter contract, Aspen has provided no materials or labor. Additionally, he has told me he needs more money from me to complete the repairs of the damage he caused to the siding. I believe he is trying to scam me out of additional money without providing the original service or the repairs to the siding. Its been over a month since the damage has occurred and siding is still missing from the front of my house with no confidence Aspen will do the right thing and repair the damage.
A tree fell on our house and we were having a hard time getting the insurance to cover the damage. Once we hired Aspen they got the damage covered plus some. They communicated with us every step of the way (when materials would be delivered, when the install would take place, when we should expect the money from the insurance). The job only took one day, they cleaned everything up to a T, and they provided quality work. It was also very convenient for us to hire one company to do all of our work (roof, siding, & gutters). We never had to communicate or deal with our insurance at all. Aspen handled everything and they submitted everything for us that the insurance demanded/requested. I am very happy with the work and service that they provided. I would HIGHLY recommend them!!!!
This company is no longer in business please everyone mark this location as permenatly closed
Excellent job on the roof! They worked quickly, and the crew cleaned up all debris. I was very happy with the job that Randy and his team did. They were professional and courteous. I would definitely have them back for additional work on my house.
If you are looking for a moral company with integrity and Christian values, this is it. Not only have they been incredibly professional, but they put us, the customer, first. I would recommend Aspen Roofing to anyone and in fact already have done so several times. Its really important to me to be able to get behind and support the companies I use for my home and life, and this is one I back 100%.
Aspen Roofing has been permanently closed- RLS Construction has moved into its location at 7220 Beechmont Avenue but is in NO WAY affiliated with Aspen Roofing.
Had our roof and gutters replaced after wind damage. Randy made the process of working with our insurance company very easy. The crew was professional and efficient, and provided a great-looking finished product. Will have Aspen back for additional work if it ever becomes necessary.
Aspen Roofing are truly exterior & interior professionals who care about building relationships with their customers. Great experience definitely would recommend.
Aspen Roofing took care of a bad roof that was installed on our brand new home..ABSOLUTELY TOP NOTCH COMPANY.. Randy Jones and his crew are #1 in Quality and workmanship. Took a complete roof off to the rafters..and completely installed s Beautiful new Roof in one Day!! Yes 1 Day! I recommend Aspen Roofing & Siding to everyone.
Aspen replaced roof for us that was damaged in a storm. Randy and crew did a great JOB! They were quick to fix cleaned up and could not tell they had been there. Also did another house on my street. I would recommend to anyone.
I would never recommend this company due to the communication issues with the owner. Excuse after excuse as to why he couldnt answer the calls my wife made or work with her to handle issues with a bad original quote - the quote did not line up with what we expected to be done. With that said, when I was able to contact him after we offered to pay more than the orignal quote to get the work done that we wanted, he felt that it was a good decision to disrespect my wife and say how he wishes he would have spoken to me first about the matter of siding my house because She doesnt seem to know what shes talking about although she seems like a nice woman. Unbelievable when I had heard and seen every bit of communication she had with the company and she was perfectly clear with what we wanted done. It is a shame, because the workers were absolutely fantastic, respectful and did a great job. If I could have hired them directly I would have because they were the only thing positive out of the experience - they made sure things were done right and the house looks great despite what it took for us to get to that point.
Called and needed help getting a major leak fixed at my store front, they came out about a half hour after my call and fixed it. Great price with a great staff to back it. Will call them again for anything, and will recommend them to everyone.
Aspen just replaced my roof and gutters. They were very competitive in their pricing and worked with my insurance carrier since the roof had sustained wind damage. They were very professional and did a great job in a timely manner. I was very happy with the service provided by Shane & Randy and will refer them whenever possible.
Pulled into Don Rigo on 5 mile. Employee in company truck parked in handicap spots side ways picking up a carry out order. He was 2 spots away from the carry out spots.
I currently did 2 jobs for Randy and also bought material for both jobs and 20 days later i still havent been paid after the homeowners already paid him for both jobs that we finished. I have been promised on various occasions that i was going to get paid and still havent been paid. I dont advise anyone to be a subcontractor for this company.
Randy and his crew was on time . Got the roof done in one day . And also helped us with our insurance company . Great job done
Great work provided, friendly office staff, great company! Would highly recommend!
Aspen just finished a completely new roof on my home. We are very pleased with their service. The crew was very professional, worked non stop and did and excellent job.
Very professional outstanding work would recommend highly
Very unprofessional and horrible customer service. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.
Randy Jones, the owner, is the least reliable businessman I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.My mother’s garage had two large branches fall through it during a rough storm last year. I went through Home Advisor to find what I hoped would be a quality, scrupulous company. I was wrong. He started off by no showing on three appointments. I was telling him by all means I didn’t want to use him. How do you work with a company when the owner doesn’t show for three appointments with no call? He apologized over and over and promised this “Great” deal. I gave him one more chance, and it was a great deal. He had one of his men come out to write a contract with my mom...done!They were working on the detached garage roof, and Randy Jones stops by and says the roof of your home looks like it has some damage, I can take a look. I said fine. He came down and said the damages were enough that the roof should be replaced. I said I would speak with my mother about it. He said to let him know, as he wanted to be here when the adjuster came.My mother filed another claim for the house, and we scheduled a time for the adjuster. I called Randy Jones an informed of the time and date of the appointment.Well the adjuster came, as scheduled, but NO Randy Jones....Shocking! I called him and asked him where he was...he asked why.... I said the adjuster is here....he said but it’s raining...(it was barely sprinkling)... I said well he showed up as scheduled....he said he would send someone right over???????????? I’m totally perplexed at this point!• I think I need to add:- My mother is 82- I have a neurological disease that can leave me extremely forgetful, I have trouble with word recall, and it is drop to the knees painful at times.I explained this to Randy Jones several times when he was moving to fast, not letting me finish a sentence or get my point across (if I’m interrupted my thought is gone). He used it against me, was rude and demeaning to my mother and myself. I would actually have to tell him to shut up on several occasions just to speak. When he came to write the contract for the house, he took the claim information from the insurance company from my mother to write up his deal. He had the garage contract as well with that insurance info. He re-wrote the garage contract for over a thousand more...So much for the good deal! Then he had my mom sign them, by putting them in front of her saying don’t worry about it you won’t understand it anyway. He accidentally wrote the new garage contract where the old contract was visible.Things went on and on and that fashion. The elder abuse and the way he took advantage of me and my condition was blatantly cruel. We did talk to our insurance company about our experience with Aspen Roofing, and they were so troubled they reported them for taking such horrible advantage of a senior citizen. It was sooo sad .... Randy Jones would call my mom and give her such grief, she’d be in tears. He actually called her last week telling her she owed him 5,000+ dollars that she paid when the work was done....which has been almost a year and promises, promises. He installed our roof when it was so cold, that the nails didn’t go all the way through the wood underneath the shingles (can’t remember what it is called). I complained to Randy Jones on several occasions, and he continually told me it was just the wave of the under shingle wood. It was like little bumps all over the roof, and it’s a duplex, su it’s rather large. He finally sent out a subcontractor, which was another smaller roofer. When they arrived, I told them my concerns, and what Randy Jones said it was. How it was our older home. They all got on the roof and started laughing out loud. They couldn’t believe that they had done that. It was obvious that the nails didn’t go all the way in.Randy Jones just looks at you like your ridiculous. From what I’ve seen and heard, I do believe that Randy Jones is a bit on the chauvinistic side. He never seems to treat women very well.DON’T HOLD YOUR BREATH!!!!!
It has been a pleasure working with Aspen Roofing! The owner Randy truely cares about his customers and company. I would highly recommend them for any exterior house needs!!
