Best dojo ever!!

We feel so lucky to have found Seishindo. Shane is an incredible teacher. We so appreciate his patience, easy going style and the natural way he imparts wisdom. Over the last seven years we have watched our son learn karate but more importantly learn lessons of respect and kindness. I cant recommend Seishindo enough.

Karate is something I always wanted to do as a kid. I was introduced to Seishindo in 2016 and have been hooked sense. My 6 year old daughter goes here now and loves it. Sensei Shane is a great teacher. For my daughter, he is incredibly patient and supportive. As an adult, karate is an incredible way to maintain fitness. But an even greater benefit, one I did not expect, is the mental strength and personal growth that Seishindo brings out. I highly recommend coming and trying it out. There is never any pressure to stay, only support in your growth, whatever that may mean for you.

We love Seishindo! Shane connects with each child he teaches, knows their quirks and personalities, and quietly teaches them in a way that both makes them feel safe and able to make mistakes, while at the same time pushing and challenging them and building their confidence. He is amazing.

I have 2 daughters attending classes at Seishindo and they both love it. Shane is a kind and patient teacher. It has been great watching them advance and grow in a positive environment.

Shane does an amazing job with the children who go to Seishindo. He is incredibly patient and kind with all. Sieshendo is a great asset to the Chico community.

My wife and I brought our son to Chico Seshindo to learn self-defense and confidence and we have certainly noticed the difference. Sensei Shane is patient and personable. During one of the tests (2 minute squat) we learned something about the level of determination that our son has. He was shaking and beet-red from holding that squat, but he wouldnt give up. We would not have known this if it werent for Chico Seishindo. Good parent memories right there!

Seishindo is a very family friendly place and Shane is very welcoming to siblings. He invites me to play cross fire with my brothers class, and I love cross fire!

Shane is amazingly patient and a wonderful teacher! So happy hes my sons sensei!

My son started Seishindo Karate when he was 6 years old. My wife and I were a little nervous at first but after just one lesson we knew he was in good hands. The sensei (Shan) is unbelievable with kids and has a unique ability to read each kid and tailor his teaching style to meet each kid’s needs. My kid is now 11 years old and Sheishindo has filled him with confidence and thought him respect and love for other people. I couldn’t recommend something more!!

We love Seishindo! My daughter was a student about ten years ago and last year my six year old son started learning with Sensei Shane. It’s been a great experience both times! Shane is very patient with the younger students and makes sure they learn more than just the moves, but also the history behind it. There is also a high level of respect between the students and between the teachers and students. My son has learned a lot! I highly recommend this Dojo to my friends all the time and believe that everyone would have the same positive experience!Update: My son is almost ten now and still going to Seishindo under the training of Sensei Shane. He’s prepping for another belt test and loving his time at the dojo! I appreciate the ways in which the dojo has maneuvered through the pandemic, to ensure everyone was safe but also comfortable. I really can’t imagine going anywhere else. Definitely check out Seishindo.
