Best place to go if you really want your car fixed properly at a good price. They knew exactly what was wrong with my Impala and then fixed it the same day. The other place I went to told me I had to do a lot of things to my car, and David explained that my car was in great shape and none of the thousands of dollars of work the other place wanted to do was necessary. I escaped a huge scam because Garys was honest and professional. I HIGHLY recommend these folks. They are great!

Had an outer rear tail light installed. He did the work right on the spot when I got there, and it didnt take long at all. He was a really nice person and very professional. He charged a really good price for the work and it looks amazing. Definitely would recommend! I will be back :)

I had the misfortune of having the alternator decide it had reached the end of the road while traveling many hours from home on a weekend trip. Called triple A and then had the great fortune of driver recommending Garys Automotive as the place to go in Chico for the job. Prompt, professional, great price, and great work and followed up with me to make sure we were satisfied and happy. I only wish I lived closer by as they would definitely be my go to for all my vehicle needs.

I write this as Im sitting here in the shop and these guys have just been THE nicest people. My issue wasnt nearly as dire as I thought and since I wasnt able to complete my smog at another place I was able to come right back and he got me in same day for a smog. Will definitely be coming back on the future!

Took our 2013 Honda Civic for a starting issue. After attempting to fix it myself our issue continued. I called Garys Automotive and spoke with David regarding our issue. Good place for a smog

This place is great! I went to get my new air-conditioning parts evacuated and recharged with 134A. It didnt work because the orifice tube was moving in the pipe. They quickly diagnosed the problem with the evaporator hoses being switched. He fixed it, recharged the system and the A/C blows cool again! If you need an honest, affordable mechanical repair shop...This is the place!

Best place in chico to take your vehicle, honest. Reliable, and dependable. As a loyal customer Ive taken my truck their multiple times and they fixed my minor issue in the lot and sent me on my way free of charge. They will always have my loyalty.

Wont be going anywhere else! Had a great experience here. I took my 14 Corolla to Chuck Patterson Toyota to have an oil change done. There they told me I needed the rear brakes changed and fuel injection cleaning. At Garys they found I had about 10,000 miles left on my brakes and quoted me a fraction of the price. The cost for services went from about $850 from Toyota, for services I didnt even need, to $125 from Garys. Garys Automotive kept me from having to overspend and they were extremely professional. Its hard to find honest shops that will keep you from spending on things you dont need; this is one of them.

Called for a quote on a timing belt job. I was told it was $375 more to do the job than 2 other shops. When I asked the why that was, they told me if you dont like our prices go some where else. Great customer service.

I had to bring my car into David after my battery died. I have a Suburu and we figured out that theres a switch behind the wheel that kept my lights on even when the car was off. He didnt charge me anything for helping me out and recharging my battery. Ive been a few times now and every time David has been so kind and patient. Definitely a Chico gem!!

The best mechanic Ive had through the years. Theyre honest, reliable, and helpful every time I need something. Last time I had my oil changed I asked them to replace my brake pads since they looked like they were on the outs. They gave me a call and told me they were good for another 10k or more and only charged for the oil. They take a little longer than any of the quick service places nearby, but its worth my peace of mind.

Our family has used Garys Automotive for over 20 years. They have kept our three older vehicles on the road since they were new. David utilizes a computer program that tracks what work has been done (for warranty parts), and what needs to be done in the near future. Pat & David are honest, reliable, affordable, and demonstrate expertise in diagnosing and making necessary repairs or part replacements. The north end of the Esplanade is a better place because of Garys Automotive.

These guys are great. We paid another machanic $1800, they did a bunch of unnecessary stuff to the car and it still wasnt fixed. I described the problem to Garys. They knew what was wrong and fixed it for under $300. Well never go anywhere else

The first time I took a car to Garys was in 1995 to have it smogged. He called me and said it was going to need an oxygen sensor so I authorized the additional money. When I picked up the car he said he checked the car one last time without the new sensor and it passed. . Over the years, more times than not, when Ive picked up my car, I have been charged LESS than the amount I authorized them to spend. That alone is reason enough to keep going back, but they do fantastic work as well.

My dad took all three of our cars to Garys throufhout most of my childhood, we would occasionally struggle with the fixes that needed to be made as we expected them to financially stunt us. Garys always had a way to point out those of utmost importance so as to assure us that we wouldnt have to do it all at once. This continued on beyond my dads passing and now as I take my first car in there for repairs and various other things along the line. The first time I brought it in myself was shortly after my dad had passed because my window hadnt rolled up, I was strapped for cash and entirely too stressed to have something like that happen (isnt that always how it works?) it was also the Friday before a big holiday weekend and I could only assume all of the garages were facing lots of business in preparation for those going out of town... Garys came out of the shop and met with me on the driveway to see if there was a quick fix and, upon finding out there wasnt, listed my options and gave me several that I ended up being able to use to my advantage and get my window fixed before the afternoon was over. Little things like good customer service go a long, long way in our household. My dad always loved Garys, and Im happily writing this review as they smog my jeep today. Thanks guys!
