As a instructional leader in our building, I have been working closely with Fulcrum Education Solutions on our college readiness initiative since 2016. Fulcrum has provided me with deep professional support in the planning and execution of our program. I am the principal of a charter school on the west side of Chicago. Our school has been working with Fulcrum over the last three years and it has truly been an amazing experience. The team is very knowledgeable about a multitude of things when it comes to educational excellence, and they are ready and willing to help out your school in any way that they can. The plan that was set up for our school was tailored to fit our schools needs, and we revisited our plan periodically throughout the year to ensure that we were seeing our desired results.Through our work with Fulcrum we were able to institute Professional Learning Communities as well as implement rounds of Lesson Study to help our teachers learn and grow as educators. This structure was set up three years ago and we continue to implement it with our staff to this day. This year we have taken on revamping our MTSS program and ensuring that our scholars who demonstrate the greatest need are getting the support that they need. As a result of this work, our scholars who are in MTSS are actually outpacing our schoolwide results when it comes to growth on the NWEA MAP assessment according to our winter data!Fulcrum is incredibly effective and the work that they are doing is helping to transform urban schools. I am thankful for our work with them thus far, and we look forward to continuing to partner in the future.
