I had a week to find a lawyer and i got served on a Thursday, Last minute find and couldn’t be more comfortable with the decision I made. I used Jacob Brown to represent me in my child support case. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with any lawyer. For starters, he didn’t even show up to the first court hearing.Could ONLY get a hold of him when it was time to pay up. Weeks would go by before I could even get an update on my case despite countless attempts to reach out. Absolutely unprofessional.I can’t speak on the whole firm, but whatever you do do NOT let Jacob Brown represent you unless you simply want to be taken advantage of.

AWFUL terrible attorneys. Dont be misled by the high ratings. I had a very similar experience to another reviewer. If you have a child custody case and your children are important to you, DO NOT hire this firm. Initially, I looked up some firms and these guys had good reviews and called me right back. I talked to Brenden and told him what had happened up to that point and that my ex wife most likely fled the state with my children He filed some motions on my behalf and got me a court order that my ex was supposed to return the children to the state and to my custody within 7 days. So far so good. Well my ex, who was living with her new boyfriend, just straight up ignored that court order and filed a retaliatory order of protection against me in another county claiming I had assaulted her 5 months prior. They filed a motion to hold her contempt, then suddenly withdrew it themselves. Then they said we would go to a hearing about the EOP and thats when they passed my case to Angela Curry. Without ever having a hearing, the EOP was extended to an interim order. According to substitute counsel, my attorney lost to a pro se (aka someone not a lawyer representing themselves). Ms. Curry, who only passed the bar exam in 2019, should have been shadowing someone because I dont think she has anywhere near enough experience to be working alone. She was completely clueless, incompetent, and borderline negligent. Case communication was awful. Motions were being filed and responded to without ever informing me or sending me copies. Oh, and she forgot to tell me for a straight month that I was supposed to take a drug test. You can imagine my surprise when I shower up to court and they were like mom took a test as soon as we asked but dad hasnt.I could keep going on and on but you get the point by now. My next attorney did more in 2 weeks than these guys did in 6 months. I paid them roughly $7,000 and all they did was make things even worse for me. My divorce could have been finalized already had I not hired incompetent lawyers to represent me. Please dont make the same mistake I did. If your case is important to you or it involves custody of your children, you are playing roulette with this firm. The attorney I hired to replace them was shocked at their negligence and the fact that more than half the documents were missing from my file. They never give me the marital interrogatories or notice to produce from opposing counsel. She said they could lose their license for such negligence and I agree.

Hi I used this firm for child support. At the last minute my case was transferred to someone else within the office. All the things that were discussed with the previous attorney before it was handed off did NOT get communicated to the current attorney. I would say mediocre service. Things I requested like retro active support, wages, etc. was not put into place. Although the team was always professional there was discrepancies with the price of attorney fees. I had different attorneys tell me different prices. If I had to do it over again I would choose a law firm who prioritized my case as a priority even if it is only child support. I am still paying my hard earned money for services. Another thing is that I was not updated regularly, however I would get a called regarding payment monthly and not much was done during the month but maybe a mailing. The monthly fees are expensive and to pay that for only sending a mailing or waiting for a reply from the opposing party should be reviewed. Thank you.

If I could give this firm zero stars I would. I am currently going through a situation where the lives of three children are involved, and I Was looking for representation .Spoke to Brandon on the phone who gave me completely different information from when I spoke on the phone with John. John offered a completely different plan to go to court in two or three weeks and cheaper payment plan while Brandon was claiming it could take a very long time to even get into court AND offered a different rate. John seemed more interested in my case while Brandon seemed bored. The reviews on the internet seemed telling, but immediately this phone call exchange between the two was already sketchy. Nevertheless I decided to meet with John and when I entered the office at their 1 N Lasalle I encountered three things that were unprofessional,1.) there was no receptionist or anyone to sit and greet at the front desk2.) there was paperwork from different clients cases for everyone to see sitting on the desk where you are greeted. That is most likely confidential information, yet they had it strewn all over the desk. Assuming I had to sign in since no one was there I looked over these papers and saw court papers, etc. UNPROFESSIONAL.3.) when Brandon eventually greeted us, we were sent into a room to wait on who we THOUGHT we were going to be talking to. ( keep in mind when we called we spoke to John Buchmiller) instead of meeting with John we met with a young woman who knew nothing about our case and had little experience in the field of family law. We wanted someone with extensive experience in family law as this case is EXTREMELY serious. Then we were told that John is at their other location in LAS VEGAS YET NO ONE INFORMED ME OF THIS, JOHN SPOKE TO ME ON THE PHONE AS IF I WOULD BE MEETING AND DISCUSSING PAYMENT WITH HIM AND WORKING WITH HIM. That itself was misleading.!!!!!!!!!!!! Then Brandon who was at the office proceeded to try and meet with me but explained he only had a couple of minutes to discuss MY CASE since he was taking calls. Only a few minutes !!!!!So on top of the fact that they mislead POTIENTAL CLIENTS THEY ALSO DID NOT HAVE THE TIME TO INVEST. ALSO BRANDON HAD NOTHING TO SAY WHEN I EXPRESSED TO THEM HOW DECEPTIVE AND MISLEADING THIS FIRM ACTIONS ARE! BEWARE OF COMING TO THIS FIRM. First off, when I first needed an attorney I tried these attorneys out because of the great reviews. At first I kept on getting contacted by like 2 or 3 attorneys to try to get me to go with them. Me being young and eager to get some type of documentation for custody of my child, I tried them out. When I went ahead at first, can’t remember the attorney, he seemed very nice and eager to fight my case which made me happy to see someone fight for me. I was told law firms switch attorneys but I didn’t believe it. Until a month later after my first payment, I was contacted by someone else. Don’t want to call out names but said attorney was like entry level. Only reason why I’m leaving a review is because I would have to contact them after court dates to see what happened. I would have to call them to know how court went. Fought for about 6 months and tried to fight more. My attorney said that I’m just wasting my money and to leave things as is. Not really what I wanted but left it as is. He was also suppose to send me info to set up a payment arrangement for me but I never received anything after my last payment. Will definitely be looking for someone else to handle my case. For my first time using an attorney, was not my best experience. Lack of communication, lack of compassion, and a waste of money. Would definitely not use them again or recommend them to anyone. Poor experience.
