If youre in the area and need a cut definitely hit this place up. Go see John, hell take care of you. I got myself a really nice skin fade today and will be back soon.
I have gone here maybe once before, c. 2019, and returned today to get a haircut, having shopped around between barbers thanks to the pandemic and my go-to person moving away. Both times I have a kindly gentleman named Joe, an émigré from France who has been at this barbershop since 1964! I do plan to start going here and to his chair going forward. Perhaps like many, I pine for the days of old-fashioned, NON-CHAIN-OR-FRANCHISE barbershops which usually double as a local meeting place for gossip and wisdom. This was what I was used to with the local barbershop growing up until I moved into the city. Angileri’s is this kind of place. They have many longstanding clients and much history, including Angileri family military heirlooms rightfully on display. As a law firm runner, I would pass it all the time in the Pedway on my way to and from agencies in the Dunne Building. Give them a try; they could use your business and know what they are doing. Theyve been at it for quite a while!
The location cant be beat if you live/work on the loop or pas through on the way home. Your cut and care is a function of who you get, but they honor requests. The hot shave has been well executed regardless of who does it. These days I ask for John Fleming and am never disappointed. Also, note each barber has different forms of payment they accept, John takes anything and processes his own credit card payments on Square
Great atmosphere always a good cut 😁
John Angileri cut my hair and I can say Im impressed all the way around.Shop was clean and relaxed with the obligatory Mens Magazine tastefully placed in a pile of newspapers.I couldnt be happier with the cut and cant wait to see John and his crew again. I look forward to trying out the Shave and a Haircut in the future.
Never being there thats why give 1 star
Great place for a haircut and convenient if you work in the loop. Ive been going to John Fleming for over a year and he always does a great job.
Was a great experience. One of the few old school barber shops left.
Wish I could give zero stars, the people were nice I guess but messed up my hair, the guy didnt know what he was doing.
As good a barber shop as you can have in Chicago. Ask for my guy John Fleming, and say hello for me.
A little hard to find, dont use a satnav, but great service, would highly recommend. To get there, you can either enter through the daley center, or through the blue line washington stop.
Mary joe was terrible. I asked for a simple medium fade with a little off the top and what I got was a lopsided mushroom line with points sticking out along with a $25 bill.
Best haircut I’ve ever had.
