When a deal that seemed too good to be true on a KitchenAid refrigerator turned out to be just that, and the freezer went out, I called Act Fast. The first technician who worked on the fridge was sure he’d solved the problem, but when the freezer continued to fail, Act Fast sent a second tech out free of charge.Luis was great. He arrived on time, worked efficiently, and was conscientious about not gouging the floors while moving the fridge around. Most importantly, I could tell he knew what he was talking about when explaining the problem the freezer. He could easily have patched the fridge together and charged me a couple hundred for parts and labor while merely prolonging the inevitable failure of the compressor, but he instead explained to me why the fridge wasn’t worth repairing or sinking any more money into. Although the prospect of buying another fridge after only a month of use doesn’t thrill me, I appreciate Luis’s expertise and honest appraisal and can definitely recommend Act Fast for any future maintenance or major appliance repairs.

Instead, he called me that same afternoon--he found one when he was picking up something for a different job, so he came back and replaced it an hour later. Very thoughtful and much appreciated!

Horrible customer service! If I could give a lower rating I would.I called to have a washer machine gasket replaced. I thoroughly explained to the representative what service was needed, as Ive had the service done in the past. The tech arrives the next day and immediately says, oh we dont do this due to warranty issues. The tech calls his company and they say they can perform the service for $245. I was confused because they just said they couldnt do it. I told the tech never mind and that I will find another company to replace the gasket. The next thing this tech says is, you have to pay the $79.95 trip fee. I said absolutely not! I was NEVER told that there would be a $79.95 charge not matter if the job is done or not. This is an error on the companys part. The representatives should be trained before sending out techs to perform jobs they cant do.I spoke with someone from Act Fast Appliance Repair and explained my frustration and that I will not be paying the $79.95 charge for nothing. He says, well we will be placing a lien on your property and youll be hearing from our lawyer.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!! BUYER BEWARE!

I did my research on exactly which part was broken before I made my appointment with this company and during my phone call I made sure to confirm with the lady -exactly- what the repair would cost. The part is about $15; she said that $80 would cover the transit and repair and the part would be extra depending on what that part costs. I asked multiple times So if the part were $10 for example, would the total cost of repair be $90? and she verified thats that what it would come out to. The 2 guys showed up (walked on my carpet with their wet shoes) and then disassembled my washer. I tried telling them what part was broken based off of a video I had seen and they told me I dont need to know about a Youtube video. Turns out the exact part I told them was broken was the culprit and they tried charging me over twice the repair cost ($250) and if I said no they would still charge me $80 for their travel cost I told them Im not paying their travel cost after the lady blatantly lied to me about the cost of repair on the phone, and so they walked out with my washer still disassembled on my basement floor. He told me he was going to check the recording of the conversation and I told him to go ahead because I confirmed -multiple- times what the repair would cost. This man claimed to be the owner of the company and I would never trust him to repair a single item in my home Im a landlord and have a responsibility to have a working washer for my tenants and they left me here with a disassembled unit that no longer functions -at all-, whereas before it at least still operated. Im now in a position where other repair companies dont want to repair my unit because its been opened up by another company and they dont want liability for what the first guys did0/10 for professionalismWhat the owner did was most likely illegal and he and his family should be ashamed of himself

My dryer had been making a loud squeaking noice for about a week so I looked around for somebody to come out and fix whatever was wrong. The reviews on ActFast do not do these guys justice. They were very polite and considerate regarding my schedule and were very clear communicators. I was really worried I would need to buy a new machine. That was certainly something I am not prepared for financially. Thankfully it was quite the typical fix and Jamie’s crew were in and out before I knew it. Thank you so much! I scheduled an appointment with the company for Friday morning between the hours of 9:00am and 1:00pm. The 4 hour window came and went without a call from the company or the service technician.When I called there office number I was routed to an automated voice starting that if I wanted to be “placed on the do not call list please press 2”.It is now 2 hours past the 4 hour service window and I still have not received a call from the company.DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!! Totally unreliable and unprofessional.

The repair guy was here twice to fix a Maytag front load washing machine that was experiencing an E2 F3 error code and stopping mid-cycle. On the first visit he could not get the error code to occur, said that code could due to anything, lectured me on why I shouldn’t use Tide pods, and told me to send him pics if the problem recurred. Several days later it happened again, only this time I could not even get the machine to start a cycle or open the door. I emailed pics of the error code and called for another visit. Today, he provided a lecture on why the washing machine was not installed right (although it’s worked fine for 10 years), and said it was too difficult to fix a machine with the dryer stacked above it (though it was designed for that). He made a feeble attempt to remove the bottom front panel before giving up, not even able to release the front door so I could rescue the wet clothes that had been in there for 2 days. His advice: buy a new washing machine (this one sells for >$1000). When he left, I googled the error code and learned the most common cause (a broken wire to the temperature sensor). I managed to remove the the lower panel, and sure enough I found the broken wires. I fixed the damn thing myself: total cost was $80 wasted on Act Fast Appliance, plus pennies for me to splice and connect 2 broken wires. I can honestly say this was my most useless experience ever with an appliance repair service.

Our experience with Act Fast Appliance Repair was exceptional. Our dryer was making a terrible squeaking noise. Louis and Junior came to our house at the appointed time and diagnosed the problem. They did not have the parts they needed on the truck, so they ordered the parts and came back the next day. When they returned, they completed the repair quickly and effectively. The dryer no longer squeaks and works just like new. Louis and Junior were courteous and professional. I would definitely use Act Fast again.

Came out pretty quick after calling on a Saturday. Scheduled for the following Monday and had my whirlpool oven working within the hour on arriving.

Jamie came out to fix dryer and clean vents. Month later and the vents are already clogged. We contacted Jamie and we were told he would be out to repair for free. Several weeks later and about 10 text messages and phone calls we cant get anyone to contact us back. So now we have to pay someone to repair Jamie and Act Fasts error.

Of course my oven decided to die just days before the Thanksgiving holiday! I called Act Fast and Jamie returned my voicemail within minutes. I live about a mile from the shop and he was able to squeeze me in and was onsite within about 30 minutes! Repaired the ignitor switch and saved the holiday.I honestly cant think of any repair service that was able to be onsite and resolve the issue so quickly. I will definitely use Act Fast Appliance Repair again as they truly live up to their name.

ActFast Appliance Repair in Chicago has completely let us down. After looking at our oven, they needed to order a part (sensor) which took 5 weeks to arrive. Not their fault, COVID has been a doozy for all of us. The 1-star review was earned when they showed up to install the part and wouldnt move the oven because their insurance wouldnt cover it...They are an appliance repair company that cant move an oven in order to repair it?? They asked me to move it myself or hire a GC to move it before the next appointment, which I agreed to. The day before the scheduled appointment, they didnt answer texts or emails, same for the day of the appointment. Ive called and texted the technician with no response and the customer experience team has been zero help. I was promised a call back from a manager or the owner (who was at my house when they wouldnt move it) and have gotten zero response. Going on 8 weeks with a broken oven and now looking for a new service provider. Im not normally one to jump online and file a complaint, but this experience has been especially terrible. These guys should be avoided.

I thought it was very overpriced for a simple, less than 30 minute, LG gas dryer re-connect. COST $179. And I was told initially it was $79 for service call, but if you have the work done the service call is waived. But they really could not tell me what the actual cost was going to be. I had the part. but they wanted to use their own part. I got phone calls and texts from different phone numbers - felt it was a shell game. And it took 3 trips out to get it done. Not sure they are really an authorized LG repair service. It did come with a 1 year warranty.

I just had to repair my clothes dryer and had a really good experience with Actfast. Jamie and Louis called 30 minutes before they arrived, got in, did the repair and got out in 45 minutes. I had arranged for a full package of parts; belt, pulley and rollers. It turned out that I needed only the pulley, the other parts were in good condition. That dropped the price by $45.00. They also gave advice on maintenance of the washing machine and refrigerator.Polite, efficient, no hard sell. After searching Next Door, Thumb tack and other sites online I got lucky. I found an honest repair service.

I had already drained my broken washer myself and removed the hose. The repairman was very honest with me and told me I had already done the hard part and most of the work. He told me if I was able to do all of that, then I could buy a generic drain pump for an inexpensive price on Amazon and easily replace it myself. If I didn’t feel confident, he said he could replace it of course, but then he’d have to charge me the price of the brand name drain pump and labor, which would’ve cost me a lot more. He said if I replaced the part myself and wanted him to check it to make sure everything was okay, he could return to check it at no charge. I ended up installing the drain pump myself. The repairman was right; it was easy compared to all the work I had already done. Like he had said, it was just a matter of screwing in screws.Btw, I’m a young female and the last repair company I worked with tried to talk me into replacing so many things that were unnecessary. I went with Act Fast this time bc ppl mentioned in their reviews how honest they are. My experience is just another in many that proves it. I really appreciate their honesty. Thank you! They diagnosed then ordered the part and installed it within three days. Works like new. I found the service persons to be courteous and very helpful.

Act Fast is the best repair experience Ive ever had. They came out quickly and solved one obvious cause of a leaky fridge. But when the fridge kept leaking, they kept coming back with no additional charges until they could diagnose a really rare problem. Theyre fantastic, and Id recommend them to anyone.
