This was a fully online rental done from a smart phone. I had zero contact with the facility but needed to contact customer service once on the pick up, once during the rental and once on the drop off. All three times were due to my needs. The truck was fine and as usual, had sloppy steering. U-haul uses older trucks which is fine for local moves. My total cost was $162 for two days and I did spend $28 for the insurance. Everything on the truck worked fine.Im glad they are still renting during COVID and they went to great lengths to ensure no contact with their fully online process. If you are not tech savvy, either go elsewhere or have your child/grandchild do the reservation and be there to support you on the pick up and drop off.I took off one star because I was careful to take return pictures just before drop off. The problems was, the smart system used for contact free drop off reckonized the pictures were 15 minutes old and I had to take new pictures in the pouring rain. I got soaked and so did my non waterproof smartphone.Like I said earlier, dont try this if you are not tech savvy because you need a good phone with data and you need to know how to use it. I get all the bad prior reviews because you need to follow the process. Its not easy for most older folks. Also, the office is not there to help. If you read the information provided during the reservation, it states all this.
Horrible customer service. Called and asked what uhaul trucks were the smallest with a ramp. The young lady was irritated and said we would have to go to uhaul.com and figure it out ourselves.. Then we re-asked what was the smallest truck with a ramp they had available and she sharply replied wit go to uhaul.com. We asked: so you don’t know what’s available? She said no, go to uhaul.com...would score this 0 stars if we could. This process is horrible.
Great service!😊
