I love the Black Pepper Chicken dinner. Tender chicken, crunchy green bell pepper, onion, celery, plenty of oil, and a good portion of steamed white rice. Ending things with fortune cookies is always fun. If I’m craving Chinese food in less than 15 minutes, then I’m calling Shangri-La.

I ordered dinner through Uber eats and I was super impressed with how fast the food got here and it was hot and fresh when it arrived. From the time I placed my order my food arrived within 20 min. I ordered the schezuan chicken and Mongolian beef with fried rice and each meal comes with an egg roll. The food was good and it was reasonably priced!! It was around $25 for both meals with delivery, can’t go wrong.

My favorite place for take out when Im meeting with my with my daughter. We both love everything they have to offer. Wishing for an Asian tea but still come back always they are superb

Small, hole-in-wall, with the best Asian food weve had in a long while! We ate Chinese only and the food was served within 15 minutes with large portions and great prices! Very clean dining room with friendly staff, and they were hand-rolling sushi right in dinibg room. Highly recommended!

I ordered the mixed veggies no onions extra brocolli. What I got was just the normal order with huge slices of onions. Other than that it was very tasty after I picked out the onions

Seriously great spot. The staff was really friendly. Wife had the California Roll:chef special and I had dragon roll. The chef didnt prepare any too adventurous. Each roll was filling and delicious. The dragon roll with the inner cream cheese was so amazing. I love warm shrimp mixed with cold fish. But the real special treatment was the staff. 9:05 on a Saturday night, tired as they must have been and closing at 9:30. We still sat for dinner, food was hot and prepared before 9:30 and we were finished by 9:36. It was the meal we both needed and it happened with service with a smile

I took my family to this restaurant during a short trip to Chattanooga. We had a sushi and Chinese craving that needed to be addressed! We had a great time. The server was really nice, and the food was truly authentic. When we return to Chattanooga, this place will absolutely be on our list to visit again!

Best edamame and sushi is really good!! They cook the rice perfectly and ingredients are fresh and moist. Awesome dinner for really low price!

The web site say dine in.No dining in.Went at lunch time,had to pay dinner price.Egg roll only had cabbage in them.The food was fresh and hot.

I was going to get the all you can eat lunch, but was displeased with the customer service. I wanted to have soy paper insted of seaweed in my rolls. I was fist given the excuse that soy paper was to delicate for the rolls (I have had similar rolls in other restaurants with no problems). Then it was too time consuming to make them. The funny thing is there was no one else at the restaurant at the time. Worst custom service I have come across in a long time.If you want costumers to come back and leave good reviews ... its best to make them happy with alittle effort!We will never come back!

I ordered a lunch special which menu says is from 11am-3pm. I arrived at 12:30pm and after I handed over my money and she brought my change back I was told it was wrong price and was forced to pay dinner price without being told. Ive been coming here for years and have always been able to pay lunch price so long as I was there before 3pm. 2 days prior to this I also ordered the same lunch special and paid listed price for lunch. Different employee, different prices. After the rude exchange from the woman I will no longer be a customer. There was no indication that menu price had changed. And they make no effort to make you aware.

I ignored the people saying they got their order wrong because I thought if I used a food delivery service, maybe they wouldnt mess it up since theres nothing getting lost in translation over the phone.Nope, I ordered chicken with fried rice, shrimp tempura, noodles, and 2 white sauces (which are a dollar each).We got chicken with white rice (cheaper than fried rice), chicken tenders instead of shrimp tempura(???), No noddles, and no sauce.

The food is great. The staff is nice. And the prices are affordable. Also get a good amount of food for the price

Hot and sour soup was decent, Spicy tuna roll was decent but the General Tsos Chicken was terrible like every other place, doughy pieces of chicken with the same gooey sauce. I am begging to believe its all bought premade. I will try a few more things and update this in the future. Delivery was quick and prices are reasonable.

Aside from their to-go sushi PRESENTATION their food at first made me (a 1st timer) not even want my food- looked just thrown inside the container. (But with a no refund type of environment/ u order it u pay for it type of ordeal) LUCKILY the food was decent! (except the sauces all of which are nasty) But Id maybe go back. Shrimp lo- mein was decent too & was presented nicely (thank the heavens) They need to work on their presentation though because being a 1st timer made it look so unappealing.

Food is good but the service tonight was really bad. The lady had an issue of giving me a bag for my sauces I paid for. She put it on my bag and it spilled all over my food. There were 5-6 sauces total and you would think they would have put them in something but no. Very disappointed with how I was treated tonight.Maybe it was a language barrier but I’m not sure. :(

Food was great and fairly priced!

This is our go-to carry out and dine in (when dine in opens back up) sushi restaurant. The prices are good and the sushi is great for the price. It is always well packed when ordered to-go. The lo-mein noodles are phenomenal and the soup and salad are good too.

Customer service here is very bad. We didnt know how to order. I checked the paper, wrote it, and handed it to the clerk. After waiting for a while, a man from the kitchen threw the ordered paper at us. And he yelled at me when I wrote it differently. After that, he came to apologize, but didnt feel like forgiving. Really the worst.

Just FYI they arent doing the lunch special anymore. They put a menu in front of you and charge 3 dollars more now for the same thing. I used to think this was a good place to eat until I worked at home for 4 months. Its gross to me now and I am definitely not paying $10+ for a 5 dollar meal.

The service is Swift and the food was okay.I had the Mongolian beef and it had a bit more white onion then I like.I half the onion out when it got to table and it appears the it was all the onions. 😄

We doordashed food from Shangri-la and best choice ever! They have everything from your traditional Asian dishes, sushi, sashimi, fried rice (several flavors to choose from and best fried rice we have ever had!). Prices are unbelievably good for what quality and amount of food you get. They staple shut the food order before it leaves the door with any food delivery service. They in could sauces of all kinds and when you order soup it is in a nice plastic sealed container instead of the usual foam cups. They really put all effort in as far as we could tell, see and taste. Cant wait to dine in after the pandemic calms down enough for sit down dining.Thank you Shangri-la for the above and beyond!!!!

I visited on a week night around 6:45. The place was clean but only had a couple of people eating. They did seem to have a good carryout business.The menu is somewhat limited on the Chinese side, but a nice sushi menu.The food was good and seemed to be prepared when ordered.Will go back again and try the sushi next time.

I placed a call-in order (first time) for two dishes, Shrimp Fried Rice and Mongolian Beef with Steamed rice. I was not impressed one bit. The Shrimp Fried rice was very bland, didnt have a flavor. It wasnt any better than what Im able to cook at home.The Mongolian Beef was spicy. This dish traditionally is NOT cooked with red pepper flakes. In my 30 plus years of eating Mongolian Beef, Ive never had it served spicy....not at all! Because I called in without seeing a menu, I was unaware that the dish was not prepared in the traditional fashion.This was much too spicy, causes me to wonder if the dish was cooked to order.I will not be returning.

Sushi is awesome, tuna is great too. The prices are reasonable and ordering is always easy and quick. Five Stars always 👍

A great place to come to we your Chattanooga tn good food

Portions are unreal! We ordered a “small” but came out with to go boxes.The Philly Roll was the best I’ve ever had at any Japanese restaurant & me and my wife have ate at least 50 different establishments. Their Boston Roll was a little different than what I’m use to but not in a bad way! Great prices, great service, & great overall experience!

I give it 3 stars because of customer service and health. When I first started eating at this restaurant I was ordering through a delivery service but, I went in to eat for the first time and I wasn’t greeted. I sat down and still wasn’t greet. The waiter came over to take our orders and I still wasn’t greeted. However, when some white people came behind me the staff was all too happy to greet them. Also, they were playing with a child on top of the counter standing with his shoes off, where people pick up their orders. That’s trifling. Also, I was going to say they don’t speak English but, they do, refer back to the above. There is one girl who is usually at the register who looks like a teenager who seems to be the only one able to speak English conversationally. As far as food, what I ordered was good. Which was, chicken with mixed veggies. It was good but, the last time I ordered from there I had hair in my food. That was the only time that happened there. I haven’t eaten there since about April or May and I won’t be going back. I’m very big on customer service and even more so when I feel that lack of it has to do with my race. Hope this helps future visitors.

Ive Been Eating Here For 5yrs And I LOVE THE EGG ROLLS, the Specials rolls called Da Bomb Rolls.. Ive never had problem with their food jus my type of food until today. I realized I cant eat beef any longer and I have to eat chicken due to my new diet...thank you for re-Making my order it means alot. I give 5 stars and Will Continue eating here!!!! Never disappointed!!!

I’m not the type to complain about bad service etc... but as a Chattanooga native I can honestly say that they have to worst customer service of any restaurant of their caliber (not very high) their food is decent for a quick bite but definitely not worth sitting through a horrendous experience.I would usually say we caught the staff on a bad day- but it’s the same every time I think to give them the benefit of the doubt :/If anything, call in but don’t go!

I just want to highlight that THEIR FOOD, is the BEST Chinese in all of middle Tennessee! I have been to every Chinese restaurant in Hamilton County and ShangriLa La is the most consistent, priced for quality, top quality take out or dine in(not currently due to covid though), fresh & always hot on delivery (22min away)!Thank you Shangri La staff for always satisfying my household when we order! We found out about this restaurant during the pandemic and every time we’ve ordered takeout from here it’s been incredible and the portions have always been super generous!

Shangri-La Chatanooga - Delicious and Large Portions! We ordered for a family of 5 and had enough food for the next day. The sweet and sour chicken was a favorite and they kept the sauce separate so it didnt get soggy. The wonton soup was perfect and the generous portion of General Tso chicken was tender and crispy on the outside. Forgot to take pictures.

Great food at a good price! They have awesome lunch specials! I like their sushi and their entrees. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Restaurant was clean and cozy. One of our favorite places to get a quick bite!

Very good food and immediate service. The price is perfect for the portion size and the staff is incredibly friendly. I love the sushi bar personally while my friends and family usually order from the hot bar. I cant wait to go back!

Consistent and reliable and you can order online. Its the easiest comfort food in town. Lunch time: Get one of the lunch specials. Dinner time: All entrees are large enough to share between two. And dont forget to tip well!

Probably the bat chinese in this city, Ive been looking for a place the past year cause it seems my regular spots just went to cheaper products, chicken being chewy strands or mostly breading, not here. The food was the best, the sushi was perfect. This is my go to for chinese.

We happened upon this restaurant while heading home from North Carolina. When we got there I noticed on the door that it was closing in 10 minutes, so I asked the woman if they were still serving dinner and she said yes. The service was quick and the food was delicious. They were gracious despite the fact that we were keeping them open late. The prices are reasonable too.

The lunch specials on weekdays are a great value for the money charged. I usually end up with leftovers. The Beef and Broccoli is my favorite. For something a little spicier, the Shangrila chicken is also very nice.

Good value but they need to change a few things. You get a good amount of food for the money. Ive noticed that they put to much sugar in their sauces. Id add a star if they used less. The chicken seems to be about half meat and half fat. Id add a star if their meat quality improved. Finally, many of their items include no vegetables. Adding more to their lo mein, fried rice, and meat entries would net them another star. This place is almost great. A few easy to implement changes would transform the experience.

Clean restaurant, crab Rangoon was best I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh and piping hot. Definitely coming here more. For the price point you can’t beat this for Good Chinese food.

Decent food. Good for a quick lunch. I work downtown and eat here often. Never had any major issue with the food. The sushi is pretty good and well priced and made in front of you. They have a sushi bar as well.

Was in there yesterday for the first time and I guess because I asked for a menu and wasnt a familiar face they figured they could fabricate my total. Tax in TN isnt even 10%. I called them on it and then they got hostile then started laughing like I was the one that was crazy. I fought for a parking space for just decent food and like another review stated some of the entrees are oddly flavored and spicy.. Food doesnt applar to be made fresh. Portion sizes are just ok compared to some other places. Plus I has to ask for one sauce. Usually you get two with your meal at other places before having to pay for extra sauce..I wont be back.

I make the five block trek at least once a week. Downtowns Chinese offerings are scarce, but the quality here is perfect for a quick and tasty lunch. The spicy offerings could use a little more kick, but since they are appealing to a broad audience, I cant fault them there. Im not Sushi connoisseur, however, their lunch sushi special is super affordable. Great lunch stop.

This is not a buffet as indicated on Google. The service is extremely slow. The food is okay but more expensive than you anticipate if youre expecting a buffet dinner for a family.Update. My pregnant sister, my five year old niece and I all ended up very sick by Saturday night. I can halfway understand myself getting sick because sushi is raw and sometimes it happens. My sis and niece, however had only fully cooked food. Today is Wednesday and Im just now well again. Ive lost nine pounds since Saturday! If you wanna get beach ready try your luck, otherwise I would advise avoiding this place like the plague! Changing my rating from three stars to one.

Usually really good love their pepper chicken on the buffet. However I found bug bits in the my food.Update : me and my coworkers went again and fount metal strips from the foods. I guess from the steel wool they used to clean dishes? Mine was wrapped around a peice of the chicken being noticeably cooked with it. They did not take the food off the bar when I took my food back to them but offered me a new plate. My coworker fount his in his soup pulling it out of his mouth on a completely different week.

Came here for their lunch special. Price and portions definetely makes this place worth the try. The meat and chicken tasted great, and the veggies were tasty. The fried rice is just rice, but the noodles are a bit more saucy. They have a smaller variety of main dishes for their lunch, but have the staples like Mongolian beef, and teriyaki chicken. Overall a decent place to get a big lunch for a small price.

This is a nice place and a welcome addition to the Chattanooga area. We are sorely lacking respectable Asian food here. There are several buffet style restaurants but I would recommend avoiding most all of them. There are a could sit down restaurants in Hixson but thats all. We tried a variety of items including appetizers, sushi and an entree. Everything was freshly prepared and tasty. I posted photos of everything. They do have a hot bar that you can pick an entree or two. Well be back to try some other items soon! The service and cleanliness met expectations. This is a cozy place, not an upscale eatery.

I ordered this on door dash. The food was great, however, they put a hot roll and a cold raw fish roll in the same box which one will change the temp during delivery. Package your rolls separate!

Great Chinese food at a cheap price. Fantastic for lunch and they process you through quickly because of the local business lunch crowds. They also have good sushi if you want to change it up.

Tried to call in a delivery order because the website kept giving me an error message any time I’d try to add something to the cart. So I called the restaurant to order and she tells me to use the website, which I reply that it won’t work. “Sorry I can only take orders for carry out, not delivery, you’ll have to use the website.” She kept talking over me when I was trying to explain how the website wasn’t working - telling me my address must be entered wrong - even though I explained to her that I couldn’t even get that far because I couldn’t add anything to the cart! Finally just hung up after she wouldn’t listen. Truly bad customer service.

Theyre always quick the restaurants clean and Foods pretty good but I also do food delivery for different Rideshare companies and it seems like every time I come to pick up a delivery they seem to just hate my guts. Honestly the staff here could do some good by being a little bit friendlier

Worst customer service ever!!!! I ordered chicken fried rice and it was horrible, the chicken tasted like plastic so I told the waitress I couldnt eat it. Before I finish telling her she interrupted me saying what do you want? in the rudest way possible, and kept repeating it. She walked away super angry.We had to leave the place and eat somewhere else. Im never returning there

This was my first time going. I didnt know what to do and no one really explained how the process works. But all in all, the food was amazing. The sushi is top notch. Definately would recommend the spicy cucumber and salmon roll.
