My 2009 Lincoln Navigator rear suspension kept lowering while driving. I was trying to get ahead of the problem and took it in to get fixed before suspension light came on. 16 days and $1200 later nothing had changed. Informed Stephan, only to be told to bring it back in. After keeping truck over night. I was told it was checked and did fine. No problems. On the way to work after getting truck back, had same problem. Phoned Stephan while on side of road. Told to bring back yet again. They say the third time is the charm. I hope so. My check suspension light is on now.

Update:We got the car back on 7/22. It seems to be holding after the second round of repairs and we’re going to see if this one sticks. AAA arranged to have our car towed back to the shop in the early morning and ERT worked to ensure they didn’t miss anything this time and took a look at areas surrounding the repair just to make sure nothing else could happen. I’m waiting a few days before I totally update this review but it’s good to know ERT will work to make things right.————————————————————————————We had our Mazda 5 repaired on 7/21/21, literally drove it home and as we were going to back out of the drive way to get dinner, the repair failed almost immediately. If we had known that they were either not going to repair it right or misdiagnose the problem, I would have had the car towed somewhere else. I won’t be updating this review until they resolve this problem for us. As it stands, we’ve been ripped off.

Ive never left a bad review before but my 2 experiences with this company was stressful. I went to this company because I needed a new transmission. What should have taken 4 or 5 days to complete took almost 2 weeks. The vehicle is my work truck which I use to run my business. I had to spend more money than I would have had to in order to rent a vehicle for the extra week it took for them to replace my transmission.The worst part is I choose to go back to them for a different issue with my work truck and what should have taken a couple of days was going to take double the time to my disappointment and inconvenience. I decided to take my vehicle somewhere else and where I took it they were able to get the job done in 1 day which saved my business money, time, and frustration.

True, you did not fix my jeep. You had my jeep for over 24 hours just to run diagnostic test, then called and said you dont know whats wrong with it and that I needed to have my transmission rebuilt and gave me a ridiculous price. Im not really sure yall even looked at my car, because on the paper you gave me, it said my transmission fluid was burnt, and that was a lie, because my husband changed the fluid and the transmission filter the day before, so it WAS NOT burnt. Have a good day!

My family and I were traveling home, 8 hours away and our check engine light came on. After a quick stop at Auto Zone, we took the car here. They told us it was the transmission that was giving the check engine sign after inspection, how much it was going to cost, and suggested we look into trading the car since this particular brand of car is know for transmission issues, something I had researched as well. The mechanic suggested we drive back to our current residence and not 8 hours home to visit. All this at no charge. I am so appreciative and grateful for his honesty. We had our newborn and 2 kids with us. He could have taken our money but didnt. If I lived in Chattanooga, this would be the only place I go to get repairs. This is how you do business.

I would highly recommend this transmission service. My Toyota 4Runners transmission failed and this service was recommended highly by another mechanic. They are very pleasant and helpful and I got my car back way before it was promised. Everyone was so nice. They have two nice waiting rooms and their receptionist is very helpful and courteous.They have AES certified mechanics and a high Better Business Bureau rating as well as being supported by the AAA.

When my regular service guy read the diagnostics on my ailing car, he immediately said, Take this to East Ridge Transmission to get it done right the first time. He could have done the work himself and kept the money, but knew that Id be happiest with the best. East Ridge had the necessary transmission part in stock, fixed the car overnight, and charged a fair price. The problem reoccurred withing a year, but Id given the car to my son living up north. Had the car been in town, Im sure the good folks at East Ridge would have fixed it for free or very little cost. I trust them and like the facility a lot!

I have had a string of bad service from other repair shops and decide to try them after many recommendations. My first experience was not as good as I expected. I came back because they recognized it went out of their way to make my experience greater. The whole staff is professional. They give me repair options and theyre always smiling when I there. The best experience I have had with a commercial auto repair. I left my van during Christmas holidays to be picked up the following Monday. They had it ready. I was updated with a precise evaluation of the problems during the week they had the van.The transmission is now in great shape as well as additional work performed. I was even given a follow up call to make sure everything was working well. I will definitely use East Ridge Transmission again.

Didnt like the service here. Took car in at open on a Monday asked for oil change and to check engine light. Half the day passes we hear nothing so I call they say tech is looking at it theyll call back. At 5:30 p.m. theyve not called yet theyre now closed. 1st thing in morning the next day i call again. They say they need to run tests it will be about $130. We need to fix car and get it back so we agree so we can get to work and school its our last day off at this point. Again I call halfway through the day and theyve not even started tests. I tell them the importance of having our car back to forget the tests and just get the oil changed like I asked day one. I go about my day and forget to call them expecting them to call me when is done. I hear nothing all day again. I call them after 5 and theyre closed. Next morning go to just pick up car and they NEVER EVEN CHANGED THE OIL YET. After 48 hours they still hadnt changed the oil but we had a $100 tab for tests. This was literally my exact experience. I dont typically leave reviews but I went to this place because of the reviews. Not a pleasurable experience for us at all.

Having moved to Chattanooga, finding a reliable car service provider is about as tricky as finding a reliable doctor. Some people who lived here a long time recommended this place to me. I began using them for basic services like oil changes, repair bulbs, etc. I quickly appreciated their level of friendliness and hospitality - especially their awesome coffee machine! However, when my car broke down needing serious repairs, I really did not know who else to take it to that make me feel comfortable enough to trust them with the repair work. They walked me through every issue with the repair job to make sure I understood what had happened and were not offended with my questions. My car was repaired and driving well so far. Ive lived in Chattanooga now for five years and have never heard anyone say anything negative about them and recommend them all the time to my friends.

Car in that was shifting hard they said the temperature was too low thermostat was stuck open. Found out the car did not have a thermostat in it. instead of checking the water for carbon to tell if it had a blown head gasket they put new antifreeze explain that there was another leak in the system and the car was overheating with the new thermostat so they removed it could not tell me why the car was overheating change the oil and charged me $320 for a car that I cannot run unless I wanted to spend several thousand for them to try to figure out what was wrong with it if you need a part changed Im sure they can change it with no problem the text to not seem to be very educated

Their prices are a little higher than what some places would charge but their customer service, honesty, and warranties on their work make it well worth it. I didnt have a ride to come get my car out of the shop and the owner himself came and picked me up as they were closing! My Transmission went out on the freeway south of Chattanooga as we were going on vacation to Atlanta. Don arranged for a tow truck to bring me and my family in and let us use a mini-van overnight so that we could get to a hotel & arrange to get a rental car for the vacation. They also expedited the rebuild of the transmission so that we would not be stuck in Atlanta for a week & we could get the kids back to school in a reasonable period of time. It only took 2-1/2 days for them to do the full rebuild on my AWD transmission and that includes getting parts mailed in from Louisville. If you are going to have to go through the pain and expense of a transmission rebuild, I think Don & the crew at East Ridge Transmission are great people to work with.

After pricing several different mechanics and being disappointed with either the quotes or the lack of interest of even quoting me, I found this business. Their ratings were pretty awesome and when I called for an estimate the mechanic said he would call me back ASAP with a figure. He called back within 30 minutes with a minimum to maximum estimate which was extremely helpful considering he didnt know the damage until he looked at it. He told me it was first come first serve. I took my car in about an hour before they closed. They asked if I had any time constraints. I told them no, but they still had it ready for me the very next morning and for cheaper than I was even quoted. Im very satisfied with their service and friendliness. I would absolutely recommend them.

I was very pleased with the personnel, their willingness to listen to my problems so as to make an accurate diagnosis, and their explanation of service issues and repair costs. The shop is very clean and professional in appearance. Costs (while not cheap) seem reasonable for the repairs and in line with dealer charges. The service provided has not completely removed the noise I was hearing but the shifting seems smoother and the noise is probably something normal that I just hadnt noticed before - it does seem to be less noticeable. The biggest positive is that I have peace of mind knowing the transmission has been checked and serviced and the technician says everything appears to be normal and within specs!I rate this experience as four stars only because I disagree with the terminology of five stars - loved it - how can one love a transmission check and service?

Losing my transmission came at the wrong time for my family, but I am sure that when expensive most major go wrong, it is never a good time for any of us. I had my transmission rebuilt for a project truck I am currently building. The transmission sat on the pallet it was delivered on for about a year until I was ready to install it. Unfortunately the transmission is leaking fluid and not currently in service, but when I told the shop manager about the issue, he agreed to help me tow the vehicle in for the repair. Great customer service is hard to find these days, but Don Brittons knows how its done. I look forward to doing business with this shop again in the future.

I am new to Chattanooga, so I was pretty nervous taking my vehicle anywhere for service. I relied heavily on Google reviews, and I am NOT disappointed - so thank you reviewers!I waited in a comfortable waiting room and worked from my laptop while the service was taking place. Starbucks coffee available as well, which is a pretty nice touch! The service was completed in time but when I went to pay, my invoice was higher than I was quoted. That was quickly rectified, and I paid what I was told the cost would be, even though the service for my vehicle should have cost more - I was just misquoted. I appreciate VERY much having my invoice changed, though I felt kind of bad about it.I wont forget the excellent customer service provided to me at ERT. I will ABSOLUTELY be returning the next time I need some work on my vehicle.

This is the second time Ive used East Ridge Transmission. The first time was 4 years ago with my Odyssey (which btw is still running like a charm). They were the cheapest and quickest in and out that I could find and I work at a dealership that works on transmissions. This time it was the clutch in my Corolla. Stephan and Casey were very helpful throughout the process and kept me informed! I had a concern with my wheel bearings after my clutch was fixed and called them about it. Casey didnt know if my wheels had been taken off but would ask the next morning whether or not they had and would get back to me. He got back with me at 8:23 the next day and they open at 8. I feel like Im driving a brand new car bc the clutch is better than ever! I never knew it was supposed to be this smooth! I greatly appreciate their honesty and integrity as a company!

It is very rare that I write a review, but I thought these guys earned it.I first had trouble with my transmission about 8 months ago. I ended up using Don Britton in-spite of them being a bit pricey. In the end I wanted the warranty and peace of mind that they assured.After the fix, I quickly noticed there was fluid leaking in my driveway. They promptly towed my car to their shop and repaired it.. While they were working on it, they provided me with a ride, as I only have one car.After the second fix, my car drove great for 8 months. Again I noticed fluid in my driveway last week. I took it in and they are currently fixing it. I understand things go wrong, what is most important is how a company handles problems. A very good experience. One of my vehicles was running rough a few months ago and the engine light was illuminated. I took it to ER Transmission. They diagnosed the problem and had me back on the road in very short order. Very pleased with their work and their demeanor. But then, the oxygen sensor they replaced went bad and I again had the same problem. I took it back to ER Transmission. No questions asked, they just replaced the oxygen sensor again at no charge as it was under their warranty. Now that is the way to do business...by taking care of the customer. Great job by the mechanics and great job by CaryAnne.

I took my Hyundai to East Ridge Transmission with the symptom of hard shifting between 2nd and 3rd gear (auto transmission) when warmed up. Didnt happen during the 1st 5 minutes of driving. I left it with them overnight and they called me the next day to say the transmission needed to be rebuilt and the cost would be approximately $3400.I did not let them do the work and sought out a second opinion. During this time I changed the transmission fluid on my own and the symptom disappeared.East Ridge Transmission did not offer that option to me, their only option was the rebuild for $3400. It actually cost me $30 for new fluid.

I took my Nissan Altima in to have them look at a shifter problem and a small oil leak. The did a complete inspection of the car and found a serious issue in the engine. They advised that a new engine was needed as well as a catalytic converter but did not encourage me to buy one. It was evident from the start that they were in no way trying to sell me on an expensive repair. Everyone I dealt with seemed to be extremely honest and ethical. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them in the future. Finally, they did not charge me a dime, and I am quite certain that the inspection took a considerable amount of time. While the news I got was very disappointing it was nice dealing with honest people.

Although they couldnt diagnose our problem, they tried hard to and assured us the misdiagnosis by local Ford dealership (almost $4k for a new transmission) was incorrect and did not install a new transmission. They understood our situation (stuck on what was supposed to be a vacation with 5 kids), charged us nothing, not even for a thermostat replacement they had tried, and recommended a diesel mechanic more familiar with out truck, who was also fantastic.

This company has costed us no less than $2000 in wasted money to perform some engine repair work on our vehicle. The vehicle eventually ended up at a dealership a short while later where we were made aware that the entire engine was bad due to low oil pressure readings which means the underlying problem could never really be fixed anyways even when this transmission shop continued to dump our money into the fix. The dealership also found many other wrong things, for example, an alternator bolt that was sitting outside of its correct location only being wedged in its place. I am writing this review in hopes that it will help someone else and you will consider other alternatives to this business for your repair work. Do NOT believe all the other positive reviews listed for this company, It would not surprise me if they are paying an outside source to post only positive reviews and suppress the legitimate negative/low reviews. I do have a repair background myself and am familiar with the industry and I can tell you this company does not have a good business model either with very poor communication between the technicians, managers, and then customers. I hate posting negative reviews like this but its not right for the customers to foot their bills.

Couldnt agree more with Daniel Mullins, my experience with East ridge Transmission was a total nightmare, took it in because it belongs to my boss and as a employee they gave me a discount in 48 hours a quoted job went from $326 to $500.++ and 2 scratches in my bumper front and rear apparently with the same object.I took it Monday first thing in the morning because it was a 2 hour job and was promised to be delivered in the afternoon, well took them one day and half of the other, when delivered the same check engine light was still on and i asked the gentleman in the counter why it was still on ?He came with a scanner and could not figure it out, told me to leave it again cause it needed a more sophisticated computer scan, NO WAY Im leaving it again, took them day and a half alreadytook it to the Toyota dealer where i should of take it in the first place they left 3 hoses unplugged and 3 screws from my intake manifold, told my boss about the experience he suggested me to go back and speak to Don the now manager and previous owner for an explanation.when i arrived he pulled 3 pieces of paper put them in the counter and told me that I lied that everything was quoted and their inspection sheet showed that my car was already hit on the back bumper, I told him that none of those papers where filled in front of me, Don said that they inspected after I left and wrote it on the sheet for their protection.When in reality was, that I only told my boss only about the rear impact not about the front bumper too, but their inspection sheet referred only to the rear bumper? and if they really inspected the vehicle why they didnt wrote down that it had two other scratches on both rear panel that you can see from a mile away and the front bumper was not on the inspection sheet either?hmmm some else is the liar, Im sorry it belongs to the company I work for and I probably loose my job after this review, but I didnt ask for special treatment and I paid with US Dollars, I am a mechanic, with a bachelor degree in BM and a Veteran of the US Army, people treat people with ethic and respect just because is their duty when they represent a company.This was my experience, I only wasted my time and my money,but finally got it fixed. and Im giving it 1 star because wont let me publish it without one... worst customer service ever
