We recently used Iron River to repair our existing screened in porch and add on a new deck. Randy, Jesse and the entire Iron River crew that worked on our project did an excellent job. Randy was always very responsive and up-front with project communication. He also put together a great design that reinforced our existing porch while also enhancing it with a new low-maintenance deck. The hard work and craftsmanship by Jesse, Adam and the rest of the crew was also appreciated and very well done. Jesse also took the time to answer any questions I had as they came up and everyone was very respectful to me and my family throughout the project. As unexpected challenges came up, I was informed of it quickly and everyone was easy to work with on finding solutions to move forward. This porch and deck project was not an easy one because it was a combination of restoration and a new build. Our ultimate goal was to have a reinforced/solid structure for our porch and an expanded, low maintenance deck for our family to enjoy for decades to come. The Iron River Crew helped us reach that goal and we are forever grateful. Thanks again fellas, take care! -The Jones Family
Iron River did a great job with the full roof, siding, and gutter replacement on my home. The attached pictures show how great the update was! The whitish/pink is before, and the blue siding is after all of Iron Rivers work. The process was slow and frustrating since insurance was involved and their employee in charge of my project changed employment mid-project(which was unfortunate but happens) but the end result turned out essentially perfect! They came out multiple times to meet with my insurance adjusters to help get them to agree to replace everything that was damaged. Vadim and Maria were both very responsive and informative during the process. They also went above and beyond on the work my insurance initially agreed to pay for in order to not leave parts of my home looking outdated after most of it was being replaced by the insurance claim.I would recommend them for your home projects as the end result was more than I could have imagined and they were knowledgeable and persistent when helping me navigate my insurance claim.
We worked with Iron River for the building of our deck. Everyone was very helpful and professional throughout the whole process, from the Project Manager to the many crews that worked on site. At the beginning we talked through many options and recommendations, the Project Manager helped us decide on the best option for us. The crews on-site were always keeping us up to speed on what was happening and if there were any decisions to be made. Even when there was an “issue” to start, the Project Manager called me right away and talked through what had happened including what options I had to move forward. Thanks Iron River we love our deck!
We had Iron River Construction remove and replace the deck on our house. We found Randy, the sales/project manager to be very helpful, patient and honest. The crew that worked on our house were professional, hardworking and did a very good job. I have no doubt the job was done correctly. We are very happy with the final result and would recommend Iron River Construction to any of our friends and family.
We recently finished a bathroom & master bedroom remodel & added a new bathroom with Iron River. Alex B. was our general contractor on this project. To say I am happy about the process and outcome would be understating my feelings. We had an AWESOME experience & the end project is stunning. Alex laid out a schedule for us almost a month in advance - every tradesperson came when they were supposed to, the project finished on the exact date he laid out and the work was top notch! Two things that stood out for me: at the end of the day someone always cleaned up any construction debris & Alex stopped by almost daily to check on the progress and keep us updated on everything.I could not recommend Alex and Iron River enough and am already planning my next project with them!
Randy and the crew at Iron River were great! Everything was very professional from the quoting and specing process to communication, and site clean up. Iron River remodeled my deck with new composite decking and aluminum railings. Attention to detail was obvious and they kept the site tidy each day. They were one of the higher bids but were worth the price. I will use them again.
Iron River did an amazing job with our kitchen remodel. They managed the countertop install, a custom island and fridge surround, new sink, backsplash, electric, and plumbing. Everything ran on or ahead of schedule, the contractors were organized and tidy. I’m sure we weren’t their biggest job, but we were treated like we were. We will definitely be using them for future projects. Excellent quality and excellent service!
We started looking for a contractor to build out a new deck from our existing deck back in 2019, the process (with other companies) was frustrating and wasted a lot of time. Luckily we found Iron River and the experience with them was night and day. They were responsive throughout the process and ended up being the only company out of 8 or so that actually came back to us with a quote and seemed like they wanted our business. Randy was great to work with from beginning to end and the crew who were onsite were professional and on time. The project ended up getting pushed back due to an early freeze last year and then Covid this spring. None the less they were able to get the project started and completed with in two weeks once they started in late April. The new cedar deck looks awesome, and I cant stress enough how refreshing it was to work with a company that actually cares about the work they do and how they treat their costumers. Many other construction companies should take notice...
We had a lot of work to do, our home needed to be completely remodeled and updated. We had several bids and meetings with various contractors; however, during the first meeting with Alex at Iron River, we knew we wanted him working on our project. We had some out of the ordinary ideas and it was a challenge, but Alex made sure it happened! He was always available to answer questions and notified us immediately of any schedule changes, etc. We started this project in the middle of January, which we thought would be a challenge, but Alex was able to keep the job running smoothly and we finished the entire project the first week in March! We completely gutted and remodeled the entire basement and main level of our home. We added a bar, entertainment unit, bathroom, new lighting, flooring, doors and mill work in the basement. We did a total kitchen overhaul on the main level, as well as new flooring, lighting, doors and mill work on the main level. The result was beyond our expectations! We are in the planning stages of remodeling the upper level bedrooms and bathrooms and will being using Alex at Iron River for sure!
We remodeled our outdated kitchen (70s style) with the help of Iron River Construction. Alex B. made the process seamless. The project was completed on time and exactly to our wishes. Alex kept subcontractors on schedule and was onsite almost daily. The whole project took only 5 weeks. I highly recommend this company, have shared my experience with many friends, and definitely will hire them again for future home improvements. Thank you Alex and Iron River Construction!!!
Iron River Construction built us a brand new deck and we’re so pleased with the outcome! Randy kept us well informed on the status of the deck progress. His team, Jesse and Adam, are excellent carpenters. They use high end material and pay attention to detail. If you’re in the market for a new deck Iron River is the way to go! Thank you for bringing our vision to life, we appreciate the quality work you do!
[Cross-Posted Review]We hired Iron River to build a 15x18 deck with an additional landing (8 footings). It turned out fabulously! In the early stages - our project manager did a great job with responsiveness and turning around revisions to their bid to match what my wife and I wanted. They also included a warranty on their labor! Their bid folder included all of the information a person would want when evaluating a bid so it was pretty easy to decide where Iron River stood among our other bids. The only thing we didnt like was that our project took a long time to get started and we didnt get a whole lot of communication. The challenge with decks is theyre at the mercy of the weather. We would have liked more communication during the interim (we waited almost 2 months, but we did sign in mid April while it was still snowing...) between the signed work agreement and actually starting the deck. It was just hard since we had been told initially that wed be 3 weeks out once the first deck of Iron Rivers season had started.Scheduling aside, once the project started it was smooth sailing start to finish. Im a big fan of communication (if you couldnt tell from above), so it would have been nice to know what they were trying to accomplish over the next couple of days or if they were expecting to pause work for a day (there were days where nobody arrived and the weather was not inhibiting work activities). However, the project start (digging footings) to finish (fascia + inspection) was quite quick even with rainy days.I would definitely recommend Iron River to anyone looking to build a deck, or even some internal house remodeling (but I dont know as much about that).
We just completed a remodel with Iron River and we had a great experience. They remodeled 3 bathrooms a mudroom and a laundry room and also helped us diagnose and repair another house issue. We appreciated their design advice and made improvements to our design based on suggestions. They were professional and did a great job with the work.
Randy Spring and his team at Iron River Construction were great to work with in building our 16x34 Cedar Deck with Aluminum Rails from beginning to end. Randy took the time to present us many options at the beginning, always responded in a timely manner to our questions never being through this before, and let us know of any changes that could affect our projects bottom line whether it was materials, pricing, timeline or financing. Randys crew was just as professional in their efforts and always was available for questions. Our deck was actually completed two weeks earlier than promised because they had an unexpected opening in their schedule and had the foresight to ask us if we would be willing to move into that spot, completing it in time for the 4th of July weekend.
We had an existing wooden deck we wanted taken down, to make way for a larger, one-level deck, with composite boards and aluminum railings.Randy was able to come out to speak with us about the project and was very polite and personable. He was very helpful with ideas for design, and also upfront about cost and timing. He brought over samples so we could see and feel the materials. We knew after this visit that we wanted Iron River for the job. The crew assigned to complete our deck was great - always on time, professional, and cleaned up at the end of their shift every day. They worked very hard to get us on the schedule so our deck could be completed as soon as possible, rather than waiting months. Completion of the project took longer than expected, but we were warned this may happen due to shortage of labor and materials resulting from COVID. In the end, we believe it was done in a timely manner and are very happy with our end result! Even though they are very busy, they even sent someone out to make a couple of adjustments we wanted to add on, and that was also completed in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend Iron River Construction and are definitely considering on hiring them for a few more projects we have in mind.
We hired Iron River to lay tile in our two bedrooms and the laundry area in our condo. Alex came out and looked at the condo. He wasnt able to give an estimate immediately, as he needed to talk to a tile person. The job that the crew did was amazing. We are very happy with the results. Unfortunately, we later found out from our realtor that we were given a steep price and that we could have found someone else to do the same job, with the same quality for cheaper (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). We had the place painted and now the tile really stands out.
We hired Iron River to build a cedar deck for us in 2016. The Project Manager, Randy, did a fantastic job during the bid process to get us the best possible product that was still within our budget. He was transparent and flexible in working with us to get to a final agreement. Up to and during the construction process, he provided frequent communication and was always right there to answer questions. We are so happy with the finished product and the deck has become one of the favorite family hangout spots. Now, fast forward to 4 years later. I had noticed that over time one of the 4x4 support posts had started to bow quite significantly. I contacted Randy to discuss the issue. Once he came out to look at it in person, he determined that there was a defect in the lumber and agreed to order a new post and have it fixed at no cost, even though we were way out of the warranty period. The post arrived a few days later and the work is lined up for later this week. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!! Ive had quite a bit of work done on my house and have dealt with more than a few contractors / trades people. Iron River truly stands out - they stand by their work (which is top notch) and do what they say they are going to do. I have referred Iron River to friends and family and will continue to do so...thank you Randy - thank you Iron River!!
Alex and his crew did a fantastic job with our kitchen remodel. His communication and project management through the design and build process was extremely thorough. There were a couple of curve balls as with most remodels, but Alex was able to work through them, finding creative solutions that worked for us without impacting the committed schedule. All his subs were professional, friendly, did quality work and left the job site totally cleaned up at the end of each day. We greatly appreciated that considering we have children at home. Would definitely recommend Alex to manage any remodel project in the future. 10 out of 10!
We had a large deck built with composite decking. Randy was very easy to work with. The crew was very polite and professional and the craftsmanship very good. The project took a bit longer to complete than we were hoping for, but they were down a couple of carpenters on their crew, which is not unusual during COVID pandemic. I would recommend Iron River Construction for building a deck.
Randy and the Iron River crew did a great job of completing our deck. We love it. What we appreciated most was the kind, professional crew and their responsiveness. If you choose to get multiple quotes for a deck, Im sure youll notice that all companies are relatively competitive with each other. Dont waste your time with multiple quotes...Iron River is competitive and youll get the best customer service.
We used Iron River to rebuild an 18 year old cedar deck and it was a very positive experience. The work started on schedule, completed on schedule, was on budget, and top notch workmanship. I also appreciated the fact that they cleaned up the job site every night. Very professional and capable crew... Id recommend them.
They were not here for the appointment at my fathers house. Going to look for another company to reroof the house
I had Iron River replace my roof this summer due to a leak and was thrilled working with them. I worked with Steph who is incredibly responsive and prompt to return calls, and I instantly felt like I was going to be taken care of when I started working with her. After months asking multiple contractors on how to repair my roof, and feeling overwhelmed a lost, Iron River was a breath of fresh air. They gave me options on what to do next and I felt informed and comfortable with moving forward with them. They got the job done quickly and that stress was finally taken off of my shoulders!Vadim was the PM that ran the project for my roof replacement and he was also an amazing contact. He ensured that I knew what was happening at each stage of the project. My hope is to work with Iron River on a siding project for my home next. I highly recommend working with them for exterior work.
Iron River was great to work with on our roof replacement following hail damage. They helped us navigate the insurance process, walked us through the installation process, and completed the job quickly and ahead of schedule.
Well use Iron River again for our next project, without hesitation. Our project manager, Rick, was great to work with. Great communication both in timeliness and context. The subs he uses are professional and courteous, and he manages them well. The work and materials are of high value, and Rick demands and delivers excellent quality in the work they do. Overall, a great experience.
Iron River just completed our new deck and we love it. It was an easy process and we couldnt be happier with the end result. Randy did a great job as the project manager. He had very good communication and wanted to be sure that we were happy with the deck each step along the way. He was quick to respond to our questions during the process. We would recommend Iron River to anyone looking for a new deck.
Iron River resurfaced our deck that was in great need of a face-lift and new stairs and railings to make it safe. Randy was helpful, knowledgeable and always available to answer our questions - even on weekends and week nights. The on-site crew was on-time, polite and kept our yard very clean as they worked. The project actually ended up being completed ahead of schedule, which was an added bonus. We’re happy to now have a stable, maintenance-free deck that looks great and we can enjoy for years to come. We would recommend Iron River if you want a dependable contractor to deliver a great product.
Alex and the team did a great job with our 3rd floor finishing project. Alex was timely and responsive to communications and they delivered exactly as he said they would. Ive tried working with other contractors, but none have come through like these guys, highly recommended!!
Iron River Construction completed a kitchen remodel early and on-budget even as the COVID shut-down was imminent. Rick Tollerud made the preliminary planning and contract signing process easy to understand. He responded quickly and efficiently to every question and change. Jessica Cook, our designer suggested both a change in space configuration and a unique cabinet stain color. Both turned out beautifully and are our two favorite things in our new kitchen. Thanks to your whole team for getting us into our kitchen two weeks early!
We hired Iron River to complete two projects on our home due to water damage. We had our siding replaced and some interior walls replaced. Both project managers we worked with provided excellent customer service. They responded immediately to calls/emails and visited our home multiple times to make sure work was being done correctly. I would highly recommend them as their prices are very competitive and offer great customer service.
I cant say enough great things about Alex at Iron River Construction. Alex was friendly, knowledgeable and had great ideas. He set a timeline, kept us informed along the way, and finished ahead of schedule! We love our basement remodel and will definitely call Iron River for any future projects. Highly recommend!!! Thank you Iron River!!!!
Iron River recently completed a roofing project for us in Maple Grove. We could not be more pleased with the process and result! The entire Iron River team was responsive, respectful, friendly, professional and helpful. The on-site supervisor and his team worked their tails off to complete the job in only two days and left our property perfectly clean -- much respect for their hard work during challenging weather conditions in November. We highly recommend Iron River!!
I went to 5 different contractors trying to find one that was reliable, produced quality work, and wouldnt break the bank. Two of out three aint bad. : PIt was ~$30k for an AZEK all-maintenance-free 16x24 with diamond pier footings (my request). The price was higher than Id hoped to find, but honestly after looking around as much as I did I dont think we could have gotten it cheaper, at least not without cutting major corners. So the price was disappointing, but not unbearable. Thankfully the rest of the experience was fantastic. When I had questions I almost always received a prompt call back, even when my point of contact was out of state on vacation. The workers were approachable and friendly and answered questions. It was finished on schedule and to spec. We did have one surprise where some extra posts were needed, but that came from the city inspector and was not Iron Rivers fault - in fact, IR worked with us to keep the price of those extra posts as low as humanly possible. They even fixed a minor siding issue we had at the corner of the house (my fault - I hit it with the lawnmower) completely for free. The quality of the deck is fantastic and I cant wait to grill on it this summer. Overall experience was excellent. Were thinking about expanding the space beneath the deck into a 3-season porch in the future using Zip-up. IR built the deck with this possible expansion in mind and if we do decide to pursue it - or any other project in their wheelhouse - I would use Iron River again in a heartbeat.
Iron River Construction helped me with my recent storm damage. Steph was so helpful from working with our insurance and mortgage company, to keeping me informed every step of the process. The workers were so friendly and completed repairs on our roof, siding, deck, and garage doors very quickly! I’m so glad I worked with Iron River and will absolutely recommend them to my friends and family!
Before choosing Iron River to build our new deck we had met with five different building companies. From the moment we met Randy, the contractor, we felt comfortable with him. We could tell he was extremely knowledgeable, had great suggestions and wasn’t pushy or aggressive. He was able to give us an idea of the cost on the spot and then the actual bid came within 24 hours, where a few of the companies we met with took over a month. We were initially scheduled to build our deck at the end of fall so because of the weather it was a later start than we were planning on, but once Joe and his team started they were able to work quickly, even in cold weather. Randy kept in constant communication with us throughout the process and now that our deck is done we couldn’t be happier. We would recommend Iron River to anyone.
I can’t say enough about Randy Soring! He is one if the best! I have Parkinson and needed hand rails for my front porch. We needed it done ASAP and Randy did just that! We are hoping to do a screen in porch and will have Iron River do it. Rudy is who did the work and is a fantastic guy and is very detailed and made sure the area was cleaned up each day. Once again my wife and I are completely happy with the completed product.
We have a beautiful deck on our new home installed by Iron River. From the first meeting with Randy until it was completed everyone on this staff were friendly and knowledgeable of their trade. It was completed on time within our budget and is so wonderful. We are hoping to have a screened area next summer and will be calling Randy for a quote. I was a Property Manager for 30 years and worked with many construction companies and would rate Iron River at the top of all of the others I used. And a thanks to Rudy and his crew for their hard work. We will enjoy our deck for many years to come.
I recently used Iron River to put a new roof on my house in Victoria, MN and was very pleased with the service and quality of the work. Joe with Iron River took the lead and worked with the insurance company from start to finish. The crews they user were very friendly and was very pleased with not only the install of the new roof, but the clean up was top notch.I would recommend Iron River to anyone requiring a new roof. Both from support with the insurance company, to making sure we install the correct shingles, to following up after the project was completed to make sure we were pleased with the service and work. Tim
Our project was on time and on budget. Alex always answered all of our questions and made the experience so easy for us. Jessica helped keep our design selections consistent and on budget. Our main level is beautiful. It turned out better than we even imagined. Thank you Alex and Jessica for being so patient with us! We would highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for someone to manage their remodel.
From start, to finish, Ive been most pleased with Iron River, Randy and the work crew. I had a rather simple project, a tear off and rebuild of an existing deck, while extending one corner of the deck to square it out.At my first meeting, Randy came out and spent about an hour with me, going through all the details of the project, asking questions, answering questions and showing examples of product. This was my third bid, and yet the first time I got to see, in person, the product that we were talking about.Once I signed the contract, Randy was in contact with me to let me know when the project would start. He was leaving for vacation when there was an opening in the schedule and the project was going to start a little earlier. Even on vacation, he checked in.Once the project commenced, it all went rather smoothly. The weather got a bit tricky, however, the deck was built ahead of schedule. Throughout the project, my questions and concerns were addressed and I felt positive that if I reached out with a question, it would be taken seriously and addressed quickly.Im very happy with the final results and am excited to use my new deck next Spring!
We are so happy with the outcome of our project and our experience with Iron River. Our dream of a front porch was brought to reality and within budget. Randy was amazing to work with. Our project had some permit issues, even before construction began and Randy was on top of it every step of the way! His open communication and availability was top notch. He was always willing to work around our schedule, making it very easy to sit down and meet. I’m unsure if anyone could match his customer service. The team that constructed our porch was friendly and respectful and did a fantastic job. We definitely will recommend Iron River to anyone looking for a construction company. We look forward to working with Randy and Iron River in the future.
I have only good things to say about Alex and my remodel. Alex was a wonderful project manager. He stayed on schedule and within budget. He was quick to get back to me when I had a question or concern - he would even respond well into the evening and on weekends. This was my first remodel project, and I will be going back to Alex and Iron River when Im ready to do the bathroom and basement. I had lots of questions and Alex always answered them with patience. I would not hesitate to recommend him to family, friends and coworkers. The whole experience has been very positive.
We worked with Iron River and Alex B. on remodeling our kitchen and mudroom in addition to building custom cabinets in our dining room. Alex was extremely professional and collaborative in the design and budget phase of the project. Throughout the 8 week project Alex effectively managed the various crews on-site while consistently checking in with us to ensure we were satisfied with the project and the progress. We couldnt be happier with the results - it turned out even better than we imagined. We would enthusiastically endorse Alex and Iron River and will certainly give them a call for future projects. Thank you!
I worked with Alex and the Iron River team on a remodel project for our office. Throughout the process Alexs communication and responsiveness was excellent and he was transparent about pricing, expectations, and schedule. It was a pleasure working with a contractor who takes pride in his work and who takes care of his clients. I would absolutely recommend Alex and the Iron River team for any project - commercial or residential!
We had a very positive experience with Iron River with our basement remodel. Randy Spring was our project manager, and he was very responsive and easy to work with throughout the entire process, from bidding our project to completion. Randy was always available whenever we had questions, and he followed up with us to make sure we were pleased with the work being done. The work performed was quality and we were able to stay on their projected timeline and reasonably within our budget. I would recommend Iron River and Randy for any home improvements!
This review applies to anyone in need of a well built residential deck.Randy Spring, project manager, was professional and engaging. He followed through with frequent checks, calls or texts to advise on any weather delays, etc.Todd, the supervising lead carpenter, and his crew were a joy to observe. They were on time, efficient, polite, respectful of property, neat and organized. However, the most important factor when choosing a contractor is the finished product expected. Their excellent attention to detail and overall craftsmanship was far above any of the neighbors deck projects as recently built by competitors. Todds carpentry skills and the overall Iron River experience exceeded my demanding expectation as a homeowner with finish carpentry experience. You do get what you pay for! Highly recommended.
We recently had a composite deck built by Iron River Construction. From start to finish, the entire processs was seamless. Randy Spring was prompt, knowledgeable, and very personable. The building crew was on time, professional, and hardworking. Cory even came on a Saturday to install our stairs. The end product is amazingly beautiful. We will definitely enjoy this and future projects from Iron River Construction.
We couldnt be happier with our experience with Iron River. We built a four season porch and put a maintenance free deck on. After our first meeting with Randy, we went with them. The guys were always on time, polite, and worked hard. There were a couple of delays, but they were weather related and couldnt be helped. We would definitely use them again!
Weve asked Iron River for a couple of quotes over the last few years. For various reasons, we ended up going with another contractor. Every time, something went wrong, and we were disappointed. In November of 2018, we gave them the job of a bathroom remodel for our son and we couldnt be happier. Their follow-through of details was exceptional. Everything was finished on time, on budget, and done right. This is a first for us.Our son, who has epilepsy, has a great deal of difficulty with change. We didnt know how he would manage losing the use of his bathroom and having all the construction debris and noise. Iron River and their sub-contractors were able to work with his needs keeping him relatively happy the whole time. We highly recommend them.
We recently completed a kitchen remodel in our 1980’s split style home. This was our first experience with any type of remodel project (except for those small DIY around the house) and we were not sure where to even start! We met with several teams to determine who would be the right fit and when we sat down with Rick, we knew almost immediately that we would be able to work with him – and he would listen to us and put up with us throughout the process. The step by step nature that Iron River takes you through (planning, design and scheduling process) makes it easy to understand. We were very eager to get started and felt like things moved a bit slow in the beginning, but by the end understood why! Everything in due time! And no matter what, it does not happen as fast as it does on TV! By the end, we (animals included) were all ready to have our house back to ourselves. We still walk into our kitchen and are amazed by the transformation! We enjoy cooking and hanging out and are no longer tripping over each other. Of course we’re happy with all of our new granite, tile, cabinets, etc. However, the key was the new flow. While we didn’t change the footprint of the kitchen, moving key appliances around and changing the space where the “traffic” areas are made a huge difference. During the remodel we knew it was a good decision, now that we’re actually using the kitchen, we know it was the RIGHT decision.
We had storm damage on our roof, and we had mark come out to do a bid on the roof because my family has used them in the past, they do amazing work, and they fight tooth and nail to get your roof fixed through the insurance company, super amazing company I will be using them for all of our future work . Thank you Mark .
We contracted with Iron River to do a $60k renovation of our home, which involved kitchen cabinets, removing a stone floor and installing tile and wood flooring, etc.Our main contact with Iron River was Rick Tollerud, Sr. Project Manager. He did an excellent job of scoping the project, including price and schedule. He monitored the project closely, and was on site every day. He was very responsive to our question and comments, responding almost immediately.Very important to us was adherence to a schedule, and Rick and Iron River delivered 100% on that score. We found all of the people from Iron River and their sub-trades to be very pleasant, courteous and cooperative. This included Rick Jr., Rudy, Jessica (interior design), Dave (tile) and the cabinet fellow. We have had several large renovation projects in the past, all of which dragged on much longer than promised, with considerable creep in cost. In the case of Iron River, they delivered on both cost and schedule, and the work was first rate.We highly recommend them, and will most certainly use them again on any renovation project we undertake.
From the moment I was contacted by Randy and Iron River Construction, I had a feeling he was the guy we were going with. On time for the appointment, actually a few minutes early. He had samples of the products, knowledge of the materials and was straight forward, and would have the estimate to us within 24 hours. Iron river was not the cheapest estimate, but also not the most expensive. They were competitive with a quality product and it just felt right. Work started earlier than expected, which was a good thing and the crew was great. Clean worksite, hard workers and really nice guys all around. The finished product is top of the line and we couldn’t be happier with the job. Highly recommend and would not hesitate to use Iron River for other projects in the future. Best experience with a contractor ever.
Great job by Iron River Construction On our basement remodel! Extremely pleased and our project manager Alex was the best. He is great to provide ideas and suggestions and to use his expertise in guiding the homeowner in selecting colors, flooring, cabinets and countertops. We will definitely use again and highly recommend! Top notch!!!
I had one deck completely rebuilt & another re-surfaced by Iron River Construction. It was completed in a timely manner & with high quality workmanship. They look gorgeous! The crew was friendly & answered questions. Randy, the Project Manager, was patient with my questions & had good suggestions. He even came out the morning of his day off to finish up on part of a railing. I will definitely be using Iron River Construction again in the future.
We have worked with Iron River on three projects: basement room addition, bathroom remodel and new windows and doors. Each time they have been professional, on time and always available if I had questions. We had never done any sort of home remodeling before hiring Iron River so we needed a lot of hand holding in the beginning. They were excellent at communicating what steps were involved with each project, costs and how the construction may affect us. Highly recommend!
Alex did a good job solving any issues that came up during our kitchen remodel. We are happy with the finished kitchen.
This past weekend we had a lot of rain accompanied with an east wind which is unusual for our location. We noticed some moisture in our four season porch. Not knowing to the cause of the moisture I called no less than 12 roofing contractors several advertising 24x7 emergency service in an effort to get someone out to look at and access the situation. Walker from Iron River was the only representative that called me back on Monday morning. Long story short Walker came to our home inspected the area of the roof line and quickly determined a $4 tube of caulk would fix the problem. I was equally impressed when this brief but thorough inspection was done at no charge to me the customer. I even offered to buy Walkers lunch today which he politely declined. You can bet when the need arises I will contact Iron River Construction in the future. Very impressed with the entire experience and customer service.
Had Ricky build my new practice from an existing old home. I cant say enough how awesome it was to work with him and iron river. I literally talked to him every day as he walked me through this crazy process of taking an old home and converting into the practice of my dreams. Ricky takes the lead and somehow able to manage multiple different people for one particular project and make sure everybody is on the same page and getting it done on time while making the costumer informed and updated on a daily basis. If you are looking into or thinking about any kind of remodel for your home and or business you will not be disappointed. Give Rick a call at iron river!!!!
When we purchased our new home in May 2017 we knew the deck would need replacing as it was not up to current code, and frankly not very sound. We reached out to Randy Spring at Iron River Construction to see if he could get the job done. Randy was very informative of our options, the process and frankly, his quote was very competitive with other businesses in the area. We looked forward to working with him.Unfortunately, we decided to skip the deck renovations all together as we are unexpectedly relocating within the next year. We will definitely be keeping Randy/Iron River Construction in mind for future renovations on the next home.
As a Realtor, I have many opportunities to refer contractors to clients. Alex with Iron River is the only one I refer. He has proven to be consistently responsive, professional and truly shows he cares about each and every job.
We are very pleased with our new deck and patio door that Randy worked with us on. Communication throughout the project was great, we always new what to expect and the crew was pleasant, professional and fast. We will definitely be working with Randy and Iron River for our future home remodel projects.
Excellent communication. Top-quality work. Highly recommend. We will most definitely be coming back to Iron River when were ready to tackle our next project!
We had a deck built that was donated from Hancock Remax and Iron river and Alex did a phenomenal job! The workman ship is great, cleaned up great, and were very kind. Our family was very impressed and my son really appreciates it! We would recommend them to anyone!
Craftsmen showed up when scheduled and did very fine work! Project completed on time. Thumbs up!
It was a pleasure working with Iron River on our home remodel project. Everyone we encountered was professional and courteous and had a common goal of making sure we were 100% satisfied with the work. We would definitely chose them again for any future projects.
We had some siding and soffit that needed to be finished after an addition to our house. Iron River came in and did a fantastic job of completing this work, but what stood above all the others was their professionalism and communication. They showed up when they said they would, completed when they said they would, and the completed project looks awesome. Best of all they left the job clean as if they werent even there. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have any type of project done. Thanks John and crew. Excellent job.
Iron River Construction is one of the most professional and reliable home remodeling contractors in the Minneapolis area. Their service and products are of the highest quality. I would highly recommend them.
We hired Iron River to put a new deck on our house. Alex was prompt and professional in providing an estimate and listened to our requests for budget and design. He provided timely responses to any of our questions and was present throughout the entire process. Even with a slight hiccup by the dumpster subcontractor, Alex was available immediately and assured us everything would be taken care of and completed by the end of the deck project. He left us feeling confident in his word and completed the project on schedule. We love our new deck and would work with Alex and Iron River on future projects. We highly recommend their services!
We had our existing (and haphazard looking) deck completely torn off and redesigned by Iron River. Randy, our project manager, was extremely attentive and we could not be more happy with the design that he helped us come up with. The workmanship was wonderful, and everyone on the project worked with us when we asked for small changes along the way. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone we know.
We simply asked for an insurance estimate that was taking over 2 weeks to get and when we called to find out what was taking so long we were rudely greeted by the owner herself. She told me that she wasn’t handling our estimate and referred me to her employee. When I asked her to call her employee and get back to me she was unprofessional and ended up telling me to go somewhere else. She even accused me of having a problem with her employee because she was female and not a male. I never felt that way for one minute, I am a female myself. This company couldn’t haven’t been more unprofessional and unorganized.Really glad I moved on and avoided more problems in the project with this company.Especially after reading other people’s reports about Iron River Construction Company.Yuck
If your looking for an unethical, dishonest, slow to respond, delay filled project that leaves your house in a mess and leaking water through the roof, youve found the contractor for the job!My roofing project was delayed until an early December blizzard hit and their workers damaged the existing fully functioning, non-leaking flashing around the stone turret of our house.Surprise! A couple of months later water is pouring down into our finished garage and mud room doing extensive damage to drywall, insulation, paint, etc. They came out numerous times to try and patch with the solution of using tube after tube of silicone to slap onto my stonework on the turret. The leaks slowed, but did not go away. Finally, when they received the $bid$ to replace the damaged flashing, they blamed me for picking out a shingle that was too thick and that my flashing was not up to code! Code or not, I never had a leak coming through these areas before. Had their workers not been slamming off the old shingles and underlayment in blizzard conditions and damaging the flashing that was working just fine for 18 years, there would be no leak.Instead, they attempted to file another insurance claim with my insurer to recover for their incompetence. Why wouldnt they file with their insurer if they caused the damage???Fortunately my insurer denied the claim based on WORKMANSHIP!If you need to see how Tracy the owner operates her business, the following should give you a pretty good indication:The projects start was delayed for several months this fall until finally they could find a sub-contracted crew to do the job. The weather turned quickly after the start of the project and I asked the project manager and then the owner to stop the project until this coming Spring. The owned Tracy assured me that they could complete the project without issues and to give me a call if the roof leaks!!!Well Tracy, the roof leaks, Ive given you calls and you want to bill me for the damage that your workers did to my home.Ethical - Look up the definition and do some thinking about the meaning!
We had Iron River build a deck on our 2004 house where the previous owner had not finished the deck. The team from Iron River worked with us to design the deck to minimize disruption to the house, keep views of the lake intact and finished the project on time and on budget. They did great work and we would use them again for other projects.
After 17yrs of discussing it and coming up with a design, we finally decided to build a deck off of our home. By luck, at about the same time we were getting serious about finding a contractor we came across Iron River Construction. We called for a consultation and a few days later Randy Spring (an Iron River project manager) came to our home to talk about our project.Right away we knew we had found the right company. Randy is a very personable fellow, listened to what we wanted to do, made a few suggestions/recommendations and agreed to provide an estimate. That estimate arrived within a few days (much faster than promised or expected) and, with some subtractions, was right in the wheelhouse of what we had budgeted for.Our project start was slightly delayed due to weather conditions; Randy ensured that we were kept informed of the shifting start dates. Once the start day was near, the building materials and dumpster were delivered. Both companies that Iron River works with were very polite and made best efforts to place the deliveries were we wanted. Very impressed with the great customer service from both.On the day work started, the crew arrived early and got right to work. We had a few requests of the crew which were followed to the letter. Overall, the crew (Cory, Eric and others) were fantastic to work with. They were conscientious, did excellent work and were on the jobsite long days in order to catch-up.During the entire project, Randy kept us up-to-date on progress and quickly responded to a small change that we wanted. As mentioned, he listened to what we wanted and made excellent suggestions to steer us away from a few design ideas we had (which was absolutely the right call). Our project is now complete and we are thrilled with the results! Our deck has exceeded our expectations. Working with Iron River was a great decision, we highly recommend them. To Randy, Cory and the Crew, thank you, it was a pleasure!Sincerely,David & Kelly
Communication and project were seemless. Randy was friendly and informative. Deck turned out great!
We recently had our deck completed re-done by Iron River Construction. We are completely impressed with the whole experience. From the quick response and bid through the timely completion these guys know their business. Randy (our contact) and their crew completed the project on time and on budget- NO SURPRISES along the way. We are completely satisfied.
I have already recommended Iron River to a couple friends for their projects. They took a simple screen porch rebuild and brought imagination, creativity and a super can-do work ethic to make it fabulous. Everyone from the Project Manager to the subs were on-time, communicative and professional. The estimate respected my budget, and the PM smoothened out a few unexpected permitting issues with the City of Mpls to keep the project on track, on budget, and on time. In the end, there were no loose ends to get tied up--they executed the final punch list promptly and clean up was good. I will be calling Iron River again for the next project.
Iron River did a basement finish with exercise area, social area with dry bar, bath and steam shower. Kitchen update with new counter tops, back splash, fresh paint throughout, Deck replacement. Repaired water damage (and cause) in garage ceiling. The project was on time and on budget.Great communication with Rick, the project manager - very easy to work with but also responsive to any concerns. They are very selective on their choice of subcontractors, and the designer consultant (Jessica) was superb, giving me answers to questions I should have asked but didnt. My project included a Paver Patio, Iron River referred me to Corey of Mustard Seed which delivered a spectacular result.I was really nervous going into this project as there a re a lot of horror stories working with contractors, but Iron River delivered a quality project. I would not hesitate to recommend this company
We used Iron River Construction for a fairly extensive update of our 28 year old split level home. Started in July of 2018 with a visit from Iron River project manager Rick Tollerud to just go over what we were thinking of doing. This led to a comprehensive quote which listed all of the details and costs. We decided to accept the quote and work started in late Sept. Our project consisted of a total update of the main level and a partial update of the lower level. Since we were going to be in residence through the duration of the project, Rick worked with us to break this into two construction periods, first upper, then lower. Our quote included time with Jessica Cook for design assistance. She was great and I highly recommend using this service as a part of the process. Navigating the multitude of finish choices would have been a daunting task without her. Jessica had some great ideas beyond what we had considered and helped us throughout the project. Thanks Jessica.Rick, the Iron River project manager, provided us with a detailed schedule of construction and was ready and on time for our late Sept start. I learned that scheduling all of the trades in at the correct phase of the project is a big deal and Rick was able to handle that so we actually finished a little earlier than the plan. Our project included replacing all of the upper level flooring, counter tops, appliances, paint, two bathrooms (gut and rebuild), some lighting, patio door, partial exterior siding, and exterior trim paint. All of the workers we encountered were top notch. A big thanks to Scott for some amazing tile work in bathrooms, kitchen, and entryway. Ron, Gailen, Alex, Kyle, nice carpentry and finish work. Cambria fabricated and installed some beautiful tops in the kitchen and bathrooms. Above All Hardwood put in some exceptional walnut flooring and did the carpet on stairs and in bedrooms. These flooring installers really had a good eye for arranging the varying patterns and tones of the wood for a perfect result. Wall repairs and Paint turned out great and of course there were plumbers and electricians involved as well. We did not have a single complaint about anyone that worked on our project. Rick Tollerud was always available throughout to address any questions, adjust schedules, and was on site often to make sure we stayed on track. Our site was kept clean through different phases and made clean and ready for us at the finish. In the end, I would use Iron River again if I needed this type of work. Were they the lowest cost provider? No, but the ease with which they worked through any challenges during the project and the quality of the finished product show the real value here. They delivered what they promised and more. We love the end result. Oh, and by the end of the project my wife could argue the merits of caulk vs grout, Thanks Rick.
Awesome company to work with! The level of service they provide truly shows they care about you as a person, not as a client.
We absolutely love our new deck. Unfortunately with the weather the way it is we arent able to use it as much as we would like. We have gotten many compliments from friends and neighbors.I would like to give a BIG shout out to ALL the Iron River carpenters. Due to the weather we saw many of them. Names that I do remember are Alex, of course, for coming out and biddding on the job. Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the product. Rudy for being friendly and an expert at his craft. Then of course Gaylen. He was here every day and did a number of jobs that the guys asked wth good spirits.Thank you again to everyone! We will definately call for future projects.Kent & Darcy Kollodge
Excellent Company, very prompt service when needed, and very customer friendly. Highly recommended!
We hired Iron River to finish our basement. This was a simple walls, ceiling, HVAC and electrical project. They certainly were not the cheapest, but based on their positive reviews, we decided to sign a contract with them. We worked with a new (to Iron River) contractor. The Iron River employee crews (framing) were fantastic. They showed up early and stayed all day to get as much done as possible. I was impressed! The wheels started to fall off the bus with the drywall. Whole DAYS would go by with no one on site and no communication about what was happening. We had to reach out to the GC to get information. Things got worse when the painting started. These painters were new to IR and what was supposed to be a 3 day job took 3 WEEKS! The GC kept excusing the work saying we would finish on time. We did not. We had carpet scheduled from another vendor (because IR price was 2x as much) and they were not finished. When the paint FINALLY finished, the GC told us over text that IR was done and everything should be great! it was a mess. There were missed places, spills and splatter all over the woodwork and drips on doors, moldings and vents. We had to once again contact the GC and put tape on what we wanted fixed. The basement was covered with tape! Also, we were never given an option for paint type. It was finished in flat... that is a horrible solution for a family with kids. In the end, IR fired the painters after our project because of their performance on our project, yet we were not offered any consultation for the experience. In addition, the outside of our new egress window a mess. We asked him several times about excess dirt removal and the unsightly finish job. His solution was to spray paint the insulation. The paint job looked horrible and there was over spray onto the metal window well. Eventually he fixed it as he should have 7 weeks earlier! In the end everything that we asked for got fixed... but not until we said things needed to be fixed. I would expect that the GC would go through and make sure everything was up to IR standards before telling us they are done. Unfortunately, based on the experience, I would not recommend Iron River.
Great company, great people! Would hire them to do any job at my house!
Great Company! Excellent customer service, quality, and peace of mind!
Professional & knowledge.
Professional, prompt, and efficient construction company.
I have worked with a lot of contractors over the years, so believe me when I say that Tracy at Iron River knows her stuff!
You guys rock
