Morningstar is AMAZING!! The horses are well-behaved, and the kids loved the rides and farm visit. The countryside is beyond beautiful, and Mike and Kathleen were wonderful hosts teaching about the horses as well as how to ride and care for the animals. We highly suggest Morningstar!

We had a great time yesterday riding with Mike/Morning Star Stables. He encouraged us to not ride in January, but to wait for nicer weather and that was excellent advice! Perfect day to ride, good conversations with Mike, our trail guide. The horses were perfect for my husband, a novice rider and for me, I hadn’t ridden in over 20 years. Would strongly recommend Morning Star if you are looking to go riding with great guides, beautiful terrain and want a stable that treats their horses like family

A veteran-friendly program at a secluded get-away for a scenic horse ride. Beautiful drive to and great views at the site. The hosts were super friendly and hospitable. The animals were well taken care of and gentle which put our boy’s nerves at ease for his first ride. The ride was enjoyable and picturesque and our only wish was that it could’ve been longer in duration. Ollie, Beach, and Jet were great animals and Mike and Kathleen were incredibly friendly hosts.

We had a great experience at Morning Star Stables. Mike and Kathleen were excellent Guides, both warm, personable, and hospitable. The horses were beautiful, and it was an amazing experience to ride them. We hope to do it again!

Mike and Kathleen are wonderful and their services were very reasonable! My partner had never ridden a horse. Kathleen was wonderful at getting us acquainted with the horses and making sure he was comfortable. They have a beautiful property. The entire experience was totally amazing, a total recommendation!!

What a gem! Our 8 yr old has been begging to ride a horse for months. We had plans to be in Charlottesville for the weekend, and reached out to Morning Star Stables to see what we might arrange. Kathleen was very responsive and helpful, from our first email throughout our entire experience. Kathleen, Michael and Angela did a beautiful job matching us each with our horses and getting us settled. We went on an hour long beginner ride. The scenery was beautiful, and the guides were incredibly hospitable. Activities with 4 children (ages 6, 6, 8 and 12) can be a toss-up, but this was an ABSOLUTE win. We all had a wonderful time!

We had the best time here! I’m definitely a novice horseback rider while my boyfriend has had a little more experience, and we both had the perfect horses for our level. Kathleen and Mike were so friendly and knowledgeable and it’s obvious they love what they do. The whole area was beautiful and we even got to ride the horses through a stream. Mike was kind enough to take photos of us on the horses and airdrop then to us later. Mike and Kathleen are awesome and will go the extra mile to make sure you have a great experience

My husband & I went here to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary & it was the best ever! The owners Kathleen & Mike were hands down some of the most genuine people there are. Loved the horses & the trail was great. Really enjoyed getting into the river. Would highly recommend this to anyone. We will definitely be back 😊

I have never been treated so rudely by an establishment. They made us feel like we were an intrusion and did not even follow through with our ride time. We were told our ride was cancelled and were blamed for booking a 2 pm slot! DO NOT RECOMMEND! Find a nicer place with better ownership.

During the world pandemic, and a lack of things to do for Mother’s Day, I found this stable and I’m so glad we did. Not only did we have an amazing experience, but the horses were all friendly, the staff seemed like family, and the views were breath taking. This was by far the best Mother’s Day ever. Can’t wait to come out again.

Such a wonderful experience! We live over an hour and a half away and are already planning our next trip back. The staff was so friendly and warm, the trails were beautiful, and the horses were well-tempered and clearly very well cared for.

I booked my boyfriend and I a trail ride for his birthday, I actually grew up riding on this very farm and he had never ridden before. Despite having an experienced ride and a first time rider, it was equally enjoyable for both of us! We absolutely loved our experience with Morning Star Stables. It’s an excellent way to explore the beauty that Crozet’s countryside has to offer!

We chose this adventure on a Friday and was able to schedule a beginner ride for that Sunday. Kathleen & Michael were wonderful and the ride was beautiful, relaxing, and easy. Thank you so much! This is a must go do adventure! We will recommend them and go back again soon.

We had a great time on our trail ride today. The guides were awesome and the horses were well trained and easy to ride. The trail was so fun, the scenery amazing. If your looking for a horseback riding tour, this is the one. Special thanks to Jet and Tank, 2 very patient and friendly horses.

We came to Morning Star Stables to have a special date, and it was so memorable and just such a great experience! The trail was BEAUTIFUL! The river was mesmerizing and it was really cool to walk through it with the horses. Kathleen and Mike are the nicest people and very friendly to talk to. They snapped some pictures of us throughout the trail ride and emailed them to us before we even left. We also forgot to bring cash and they were so nice about it, and didn’t mind us leaving and coming back to pay. We will definitely be back to see Kathleen, Mike, Beach, and Tank!

Had a pleasant and enjoyable ride here. luckily the weather cooperated and the views were outstanding. - it was a great way to gather the most of the country side aside from a day hike. My girlfriend is a horse lover and grew up on a farm, so i was apprehensive to say the least having never ridden a horse before and wanting her to enjoy herself and not think of it as a joke. The tour was catered to my quick learning and her experience... SCORE!!! definitely want to come back!
