One star only because there was no ZERO option. I have been trying for two weeks to speak to a live person. Not sure I should show up at the office just to read a note or have a person tell me they can’t help me. You miss follow just one thing and they suspend your benefits fast quick and in a hurry SMH I’m need this money to survive.

So I realize this is Saturday but.... I tried yesterday to add a rating and the system wouldn’t let me. So my husband has tried to correct some kind of issue, sure would be nice if the recording could give you any idea of the problem as everyone who has a problem has their own identification number. Then maybe they could know how to correct the problem and get paid. I don’t really believe the 1 star is actual true. We tried the Richmond, Spotsylvania, and Charlottesville numbers and didn’t reach anyone. Look forward to the day this system is working for the people trying to exist in this world.

I’ve been trying for weeks to get my account from being suspended due to a failed pin that has been fixed. Now that it’s fixed i can’t access my account to make my claim and no one at any office from here to Richmond and the customer call center has answered my calls or responded to my emails. It’s very unfortunate to have to sit in limbo waiting on someone to contact you regarding something important to you when they feel it’s necessary to do so. There is no way from the time you open until the time you close I’m not able to get a live agent that’s said and for two weeks I’ve been calling back to back every day hour after hour and all i get are voicemails and recording stating they are busy helping other customers it’s sad.I have yet to get through!!

I lost my pin and need to update my address. Was informed to call their 1-866 number. Call it and their system says no one can help me without my pin number. Oh you mean the pin number Im calling to get? Well I keep going through the prompts but get sorry all representatives are busy at this time please call back. Then they hang up. Ive called over 500 times (seriously!) One would think Id get through eventually but NOPE! Ive emailed them through the gov 2 go site but thats just for tech support which I was only informed of after the 3rd time emailing.Called this specific office 3x in a week and left messages but NO ONE calls back. It looks like they only want to answer if you are looking for a job. While I have a job waiting on a background check Im here trying to pay rent and food but cant with no income. Income that Im losing out on because certain offices are closed or daycare is more money during a pandemic and not worth taking certain jobs.Ive called other offices but get hit with busy signals or full voice-mail.Today I emailed the governor to ask for help. There should be a better system. Yes while I understand they are probably short staffed and working hard to help the system needs to change. Allow for call waiting so people can wait for an available representative rather than getting hung up on. Or allow for people to call in and leave their phone number and have customer service give them a call back. Maybe try hiring new employees. Its been a year since the pandemic started, thats more than enough time for them to figure out the flaws and fix the issues. But it still appears to be this huge disaster.

The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. I understand if they are receiving 150 calls a day... I get that. But there is never an excuse for rudeness.

During the pandemic the unemployment office is a very limited service. To get in is complicated but once you can get in to be seen they are an ok service. Its something you would have to spend an entire morning working on. They must be short staffed and have people coming from other cities because they are one of the only offices open. In the past my service here has been ok sometimes and not helpful other times. Recently they were ok in helping me find out what I needed to.

The staff is great and actually want to help you find a job & succeed! Howard “Bob” Smith helped me so much today by showing me resources on the workforce website to improve current skills and learn new skills. He also gave me some encouraging words that made me realize I have a lot to bring to the table and have the potential to learn new skills. I definitely recommend anybody that needs help finding a job to go there first!

Va unemployment have just left us out here with no answers and no live response. They send to one number then another and both are of no help whatsoever. Its been a year and i still cant get any human response to answer the questions i have. They send me text and letters with the same two phone numbers that are of no help what so ever. So what now?
