Went here for my VA state inspection. Needed a few fixes and thought their prices were a bit high, so I thought thats fine, I can fix most of this myself. Turns out, the lights they failed me for were functioning perfectly fine!Ill chalk it up to lack of attention rather than malice. They were polite and provided a shuttle ride back home, but glad I decided not to get anything fixed here.

We were so happy with the service here. Scott is professional, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely proactive. We were notified regularly throughout the process of having my AC repaired and we appreciated the over communication. I love how they provide such a detailed report on your car and make recommendations on every area and estimated costs. Text message reminders are helpful and the online report was great too . They are efficient and definitely I can say this was the best service I have ever received at an auto shop. We are thrilled to have found it having recently moved here and having a not-so-great experience at another place in town.

These people must be sick. They charged me $38.00 for a tire patch. When I asked why it was so expensive they simply stated “it’s the price.” I would not go here if this price point and experience is representative of their pricing or professional attitudes otherwise

Most appreciative of the shuttle service and the very thorough and detailed analysis. However, after gathering second and third opinions from other mechanics, I found that not all the service that Scotts claimed to be required to pass state inspection were actually required. The result for me was spending well under $1000.00 as opposed to the $2800.00 Scotts wanted.

I love Scotts Ivy Exxon! They are very reliable and I go to them for my inspection every year. Recently I had a screw puncture my tire and they were able to accommodate me on short notice and patched it up in just a few minutes.

I took my car to Scotts Ivy Exxon for my very first state inspection and could not have been more pleased with the experience. Scott himself called me ahead of time, greeted me upon arrival, and walked me through what the process would look like. I got a detailed report and recommendations of how to proceed with necessary repairs. I was not coerced into fixing anything that day, but rather told what needed immediate fix vs. what could wait. Getting a free ride home on the shuttle was great too!Though Scotts is slightly far away for me, I know I will continue to take my car here simply for the great experience. Cant recommend enough!

Scotts exxon did an excellent job with my state inspection. They sent a detailed email with pictures of where my car stood regarding pass or fail. They did no work I didnt ask for and the price was beyond fair. Best part is they gave me a print out with needed services and price points. We have decided that we will use only Scotts for our auto repair needs. Professional, appreciative of our business, and honest. We have two vehicles that are more than ten years old, so having a valued and trusted garage near us gives us peace of mind. That said, we are about to move to the opposite side of Charlottesville. So now we will have to schedule better so we can still come to Scotts.

It was wonderful! The staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent. I went in for a yearly state inspection. I love the follow up message with detailed information about the inspection. When I called to ask about it the young lady follow up questions she was very sweet, patient, and helpful. (I wish I could remember her name, my invoice says my service provider was Lindsay, that might be the same lady). My Technician was Nick and he a a fantasticlly thorough job, as seen in my report. They even let me leave it there for a over a day until I could get there to pick it up. Five stars, just a wonderful experience from start to finish!Thank you, and I will be using you in the future.

Very professional and extremely friendly staff! They have a courtesy shuttle as well. This was my first experience with them as I needed a state inspection but let me tell you they are thorough. Jason helped me out today and was extremely friendly. No gimmicks, no fluff. The email they send you includes detailed pictures of your car and what theyre working with as well as suggestions on how to move forward. I recently moved from out of state and I took my Jeep into Scotts for a state inspection. Scott, the owner, and Lindsay, the front desk / shop manager, were so accommodating and communicated very clearly. They provided a detailed report via email of the inspection and it turns out I failed due to several issues with my front and rear brakes. They offered to fix the brakes for me, but the quote was nearly 3x - 4x the quote I got from three other shops for the same work. They told me exactly what my options were for next steps. I was able to come back within the next 15 days and get my car re-inspected after the repairs for only $1, and they did it very quickly. Both times, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they completed a decontamination process to not only wipe down the interior after the mechanics finished their work, but they decontaminated the air circulation system as well, which I thought was a really nice touch. I love supporting local family-owned businesses, but for the repairs I did unfortunately have to take it to a different family-owned auto repair shop that had much more reasonable pricing. The price is the only reason for not giving Scotts Ivy Exxon 5 stars, I wish I could have given 4.75. Really nice people and a lovely experience!

Scotts Ivy Exxon did a wonderful job diagnosing and fixing the issue when the dreaded Check Engine Light came on in my 2500 series Suburban. This was the first time since Ive owned the vehicle the Check Engine Light illuminated. Naturally I was concerned and immediately make an appointment to have it checked out. Scott and his team took the vehicle and found the issue was with oxygen sensors that had gone bad. He was able to find the correct ones for my Suburban, install them, and confirm that all was now working correctly. I am most impressed with Scotts Ivy Exxon and highly recommend you consider working with them for your automobile or truck maintenance and repair.

Not one to leave reviews usually but this experience warrants a mention. Whilst on vacation we broke down two miles west of Scott’s location with a car full of kids. We were dropped off at Scott’s by a kind local gentleman (to whom I am also very grateful) and our experience couldn’t have been much better. As we waited for our car to be towed to Scott’s, and for Enterprise to pick us up, Scott and his staff were very hospitable providing us water, phones (no cell reception here!), WiFi, bathroom etc. all whilst adhering to current social distancing protocols. Scott’s team had a new alternator and belt fitted within 24 hours; including a 20 mile test drive to check for cooling system issues. The total was less than his estimate. Very impressed at the level of customer service and the work performed. Wish we were more local as everyone should have such a trustworthy local garage!

Scott’s was the auto shop I’ve been looking for but didn’t know existed in Charlottesville until this first visit. I found them mentioned and recommended in the negative reviews of other auto shops, and noted their seemingly impossible 5 star average rating on Google. After months of return visits to another auto shop and the Jeep dealership with a couple thousand dollars and a lot of time wasted with a persistent brake squeak and click, the team at Scott’s performed their amazingly thorough inspection with photographs and FINALLY identified the issues—some missing and improperly installed brake components. They finally resolved the aggravating sound, completed a second repair (boot axle) at $300 less than the dealership quoted me, provided peace of mind, and were so thorough in documentation that the former auto shop was willing to reimburse me for their errors. They also advised on other minor issues found and well-documented during their inspection that weren’t necessary at this time—didn’t push them at all. Scott’s employs a team of well-versed and honest professionals who seem to take pride in being just that. Cannot recommend highly enough. This is the shop that deserves your business in the Charlottesville area. Your car and wallet will thank you, and rest assured they will do an impeccable job.

LINDSAY greeted me, wearing a mask, at their outside check in table under a tent and provided me with options to select for my car inspection. In addition to the inspection, William Viar (technician) checked all systems, topped off fluids and checked tire inflation. Since I was leaving my car at Scott’s Exxon to have the work performed, their courtesy van drove me home. The driver was wearing a mask and a plexiglass shield had been installed between the driver and passenger.After the work on my car was completed, the courtesy van picked me up at home and returned me to the station. I was provided with a detailed report based on the technician’s inspection and evaluation of all systems in my Honda CRV.I was completely satisfied with the service at Scott’s Ivy Exxon and will recommend them to neighbors and friends!!

Weve been taking our vehicles here for a few years, cant recommend them enough. First class customer service, family atmosphere, and honest! There have been a number of times they couldve charged us more or lie about doing work we asked for.....they always call and inform us that the work isnt required etc... Scott and Jason are fabulous to deal with but, so are the other staff they have, a true family. They have a loyalty program that saves you money from work done and VA inspections. Great folks!
