On Sunday we went shopping at the Rio Hill Shopping Center and when we went to leave, our vehicle would not shift into gear. Airport Auto has completely lost my trust and loyalty… I’ve used them for years and won’t go back and if you’re a senior woman, like me, you should think twice… I took my old car into Airport Auto to be thoroughly checked over; my AC quit working and in June 2021, when I had my car inspected (at Airport Auto), I was told my left ball joint wouldn’t pass inspection next year and definitely needed repair as soon as possible.I was quoted 3.5k to include AC, the ball joint repair and other repairs, I left the car with them for 2 weeks. 2 days before I was to pick it up, I was told the left ball joint work was NOT included in the original quote and then told, it didn’t EVEN NEED repair, well, “not yet”. Additionally, I was told the woman who gave the original quote had “made a mistake, there was a miscommunication and she’s done this a couple times this week” and, he’d have to talk to her. What??? Besides not honoring the quote, throwing his co-worker under the bus did nothing but send big red flags… is he saying their people are poorly trained or are there certain employees I should avoid and, more importantly how do I trust any quote they give? A quote is a quote, ethical places honor their quotes and take up their employee “issues” on their own time, not mine.Part of the work included a simple oil change and routine care… I typically go to other places for an oil change and must be spoiled, they vacuum and wash my windows, replace the filters and windshield wipers if needed… mine were definitely overdue and when I asked specifically about them they had not been done, not to mention the black fingerprints on my seats and dash. Here’s the thing, not to be finicky but, if they can’t meet expectations for a simple oil change it leaves me questioning all their services.They did a good number of repairs, it’s an old car, and I don’t mind paying for repairs and they had the car for 2 weeks, no excuses for not completing a job. I feel they ignored the little things in lieu of bigger ticket items. Those little things are equally important and given the exchanges we had, especially about the ball joint, I’m not sure if the repairs they did were warranted or not? Bottom line, I can’t trust them. I was very clear about my expectations/requests, we communicated regularly and I understood the quote. For 3.5k I shouldn’t have to take my car to, yet, another repair place to check their work… that left ball joint that was in dire need of repair 2 months ago … save yourself the worry, go someplace with better reviews!

Airport Auto continues to impress. Took my car in and they found a part that had failed from a previous repair. Even though it was the part that failed which they have no control over, they replaced it free of charge because “it is just the right thing to do.” They have my business for life.

Airport Road Auto has always been great and continues to be great. They fit me in for a state inspection. Not a big ticket item. They still communicated consistently as if this was a major repair. I am thankful I have a honest and capable garage in my community.

My coworker suggested Airport Auto because they have been going for 20 years and I see why. I had a great experience from the first time I walked in. Everyone is very nice and helpful and I was able to get the work I needed done right away. I work farther out and they still gave me a lift from and back to their location which was a huge help for me. And their prices are great. I can’t recommend them enough.

My wife and I both used them and are very happy! Very professional, genuine, and kind. My car failed inspection MAGNIFICENTLY and the gentlemen was apologetic about the price on the phone. My wifes car needed fewer repairs and has been running happily since. Shed gone to another mechanic who was very rude and shady, we suspect because were an LGBT couple. There was no issue with that with Airport Auto Center. They let us use a car for the weekend while mine was there. In general just lovely service and we will absolutely be going back.

I would happily give a five star however I feel they dropped the ball on my requested services. My car was in for an exhaust leak and a misfire engine code. The exhaust leak was completely fixed and was not very expensive which is wonderful. The misfire code was intermittent and didnt repeat for the mechanic. I had provided a full sheet of paper detailing all of what I had replaced in an effort to correct the misfire in great depth. I wish they would have dug deeper as it is inconvenient to schedule multiple appointments for the same issues

I went to Airport Auto for the first time to get my car state inspection done. I had made an appointment, I arrived a little early, everyone was friendly and I decided to wait for my car (although I learned that they have a shuttle service!). It was 30 minutes from the time of my appointment and my car was done! No hassle, no long wait times, friendly people, and they cleaned my dashboard (which needed it). I will be taking my car back here if I need any further services.

I called Monday morning for a VA State Inspection. They told me to bring it over and they would fit it in even though they were busy. Even offered to shuttle me back to the house, which I didn’t need but it was a nice offer. Called early afternoon and said come and get it. All around professional experience with very nice people.

Once again, Airport Road Auto comes to the rescue after a competitor tries to fail my state inspection and quote over $1700 in repairs. Airport Auto went over the car again couldnt find any of the required and additional recommended repairs. $20 new inspection and done. Dont be fooled and go anywhere else but here!

First time at Airport Auto and they are amazing people. I had heard good things but decided it was time to go to them. I arrived early and they started as soon as I got there. One thing I really appreciate is them showing me in person something that needs to be fixed instead of hiding the problem and not tell me. Honesty in the car repair business is a hard thing to find. I will absolutely be coming back in the future!

The staff was respectful from the desk to the shuttle service. They replaced my tires, aligned my wheels, and I know for a fact my skid plate was loose and they secured it without me asking. Details count and I appreciated that. I will patron them again.

I called in the morning to get work done and they said drop it off and they would get to it quickly, but I had no appointment so it might be a little bit. Nope! Dropped it off and a couple hours after my truck was done and awesome! Definitely would recommend them.

I’ve used this place for ten years or so but for the last couple years I’ve noticed a marked price increase. 150 here an extra 200 there, it gotten to the point that if you want an state inspection expect to drop a couple hundred dollars. Besides the ridiculous overcharges they are very professional and 90 percent of the time they fix the right thing on your car quickly.

Very slow process for a simple task. Inspection took 24 hours. Totally outrageous pricing on parts and labor. Charging around 6-7 times the going rate. Parts marked up 8 times the going rate. Compared to ebay. I would not recommend airport motors to anyone. strongly discourage doing business with!!!

This is the second time I’ve had Airport Auto perform my state inspection and it was another great visit. They were professional and on time. I’ve used other service centers but they want you to drop your vehicle off or leave it, not something I have the time to do. At airport I schedule an appointment, show up on time, and they do the rest. It’s done within an hour! These guys deliver what you expect every time!

We have been taking our vehicles to airport auto since we moved to Charlottesville in 2005. The service is always prompt and professional. They wont overcharge you and will work with you on cost on the rare times they may discover another repair is needed while working on something else. Another great service they have is their free shuttle service. Ive used this service many times because I did not have a ride to work or to back home after dropping my vehicle off. Theyll even come pick you up from work or from your house to come get your car when its finished. I know other places may offer this now but when we first started going to airport auto they were the first to provide such full featured shuttle service.if youre looking for a trustworthy place to take your vehicle for service even if its just a state inspection or oil change I highly recommend them.

Airport Auto was great. I needed a state inspection, and it was done well. The technician noted a couple items that will need later repair and provided a quote which I very much appreciate so I can plan and get this done as it suits.

Always the place I take cars to if something seems fishy somewhere else. Sometimes you have to use the closest shop for convenience but if you have the time to make it here its the most honest in town.Theyve saved me on repairs that wouldve been in the hundreds at other shops with simple fixes or just checking a belt to see if it really needed to be replaced. A while ago a dealership, which since has new ownership, tried to get me to replace a timing belt that was perfectly fine. The car hadnt had an issue for another 30,000 miles when I sold it to a friend. Id have to ask him if hes even replaced that belt since.
