I brought my sons 2003 Tahoe in because there was a drain on the battery that we couldnt find. Freemans had put a stereo and subs and backup camera a few years ago..The stereo has been awesome.I took it to a dealer to run check on alternator and battery and they said it was fine and that these type of battery drains are usually attributed to non-factory installations meaning the stereoFreemans took it in, spent over 1 hour checking every fuse and found the problem. Faulty electric seat! Nothing to do with the stereo or AMP or backup camera!They went above and beyond what was necessary and didnot charge me a dime! I will be delivering them a good lunch soon and will be using them for all of our car stereo needs and referring them to everyone I know!Great guys, products, and service over on South Blvd!!!

Robert Yates and Wes are the dynamic duo! I’ve bought several systems from Robert and he always treated me fairly. This time, we had a complicated situation with my Toyota Tundra, but they figured it out. Sure, you might buy gear online, but remember that audio gear and steering wheel controls are very sensitive, and need to be match with the appropriate hardware to ensure a properly working system. As a service manager it is imperative to have quality work from sublets.. Brian and the freeman team is second to none. Brian is honest and will correct anything thats not right. ( 99.99 percent of the time there is never a problem to fix ) but when there is its allways fixed with out hassle . His work is clean neat and looks factory-installed.

I have to share my experience and A++ service from the guys over at Freeman’s. I first purchased some speakers from here two days ago. I ran into a issue and needed a bracket due to my truck needing them for speaker install. I spoke with the manager Robert who advised me they had the brackets in Stock. When I arrived to get them, Robert and I began talking and he actually walked out to my vehicle with me to make sure the brackets would work. This is where this review gets better, Robert saw I had the old factory bracket and said let’s see if we can modify this for your install. He took the time to work with me on my issue and gave some free SOLID advice that saved me an additional $60 bucks on my project. That is going above and beyond! I started with some speaker purchases but I will definitely be back when I decide to upgrade to a new deck and amp. Great place to shop for car stereo equipment and more!

Wow, what a wonderful experience today @ Freemans Car Stereo 🚗. Before I even got in the store, Robert Yates, came outside and greeted me. He then spent some time with me explaining what exactly I needed in regards to upgrading my system. Wes Maples then pulled my car into their shop and installed the system in less than two hours. I was extremely impressed with the new sound system, and could not have asked for more. Without a doubt, Freemans Car Stereo on South Blvd in Charlotte, NC is the absolute best place to go for auto audio or video installations. Those guys, from Robert on to the technicians are so friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I just had 8 speakers, an amp, an amp/ sub woofer and Blackvue front and rear dash cams installed on my 2021 Explorer and the whole installation job was flawless. They are usually very busy so be prepared to wait a few days if your installation is a major one. The wait is well worth it.

Robert and his team at Freeman’s always treat you like family and an actual person. I’ve used their services before for installs and they’ve always been 5 star. My most recent was a new/updated Sony head unit in my Tacoma. It had a few bugs to work out and after a couple of visits it was determined that it was a faulty unit and Robert squeezed me into his tight schedule and replaced the faulty unit with a new one and had me jammin in no time. His tech Wes went above and beyond too. He took care of it quickly and explained everything he had done to take care of it and man I am happy! A+ service and staff, they actually care and it shows.

I’d would highly recommend these guys they are nice and professional. We had remote start installed on our car and it worked great after 2 years we had a issue I called and set a appointment to have them look at the issue. I was aware that my remote start wouldn’t be covered under warranty but to my surprise and this is why I will recommend these guys they fixed the issue free of charge very quickly. In past experiences I’ve always been charged some sort of fee or up sell and I was shocked and wanted to at least let everyone know this is a place you can trust.

Very grateful to this team! I needed a rear camera installed with a new Bluetooth radio I’d bought. They effectively communicated that it would take some time to squeeze me in as they had a long queue of orders to get to. Once I arrived, the store was clean and the staff friendly! They were warm and welcoming throughout my entire visit. They were quick and efficient. I was in and out in 2 hours. The car was left clean and they even helped knock off a pesky dash board light. Not once did I feel like I was being overcharged or taken advantage of. I’m almost regretful that I don’t have any further stereo needs since I know I can trust this team. I will always recommend and send any friends or family their way!

I almost traded in my 2018 Honda Pilot because it was missing Apple CarPlay but I really didn’t want to add 2-3 years to my payment. Upon the recommendation of a friend I took my 2001 Ford Ranger to Freeman to get a new JVC stereo along with a backup camera and microphone for hands-free phone calls. Even though it is an older vehicle, these guys treated it like it was a brand new ride. The installation was seamless, neat, and it fit like a factory system. Randall McDaris and Robert Yates took great care of me up front at the desk and I feel they very much appreciated my business. I took my truck back to them a couple of weeks later so that they could wire up some lights on the bed cap. The installation / wiring far exceeded my expectations. They put the wiring in conduit and used hangers to attach the wiring to the cap. I couldnt be happier with the installation, products, service, and professionalism.

They installed a new stereo with android auto, microphone, satellite receiver with antenna on the trunk lid, backup camera, two USB ports and a switch to control my power antenna. The installation was even better than I had imagined! Everything was done with great quality and placement of the switches etc. were place in non obtrusive well thought out locations. My Lexus SC430 hardtop convertable had extra complications with separate screen for GPS, steering wheel controls, and powered hide away panels that cover the both the GPS and multimedia unit. They found the right wiring harness that allowed my old GPS, steering wheel volume controls and powered hideaway panels to continue working. Although I live in the Winston Salem area, driving to the South Charlotte store to get this done was well worth the trouble! Great job guys!!!

I had got a subwoofer and amplifier installed and I love it. just brought another subwoofer and installed it myself but did not know if the amplifier was tuned correctly for 2 subwoofers so I went back to freemans to if I had everything right and Robert was very helpful. He even educated me on how the setting on the amplifier work and even retuned it for me thank you so much. Music sounds so much better I highly recommend anyone to go here for any service

Robert demonstrated patience and extensive expertise in explaining the different sub-woofer options for our car. We purchased a JL Audio single sub-woofer and a 600watt amp and it is a teeth chatter!! We love it. Great customer service and a great installation. My car had been having problems with battery drain for years. I thought it might have been incorrectly installed wiring in my after market stereo I had done at Freemans years ago, so I took it back there today. Turns out it was the unit itself. Chin and Robert were both very upfront and honest and showed me first hand that indeed it was my unit and not the wiring Freemans had done years earlier. Chin even swapped out my unit for free with a spare one I already had. In and out service in an hour even without an appointment! I will def use Freemans for future installs and highly recommend!

I experienced exceptional customer service this week with Robert from S. Blvd. In Charlotte. He went above and beyond to help service my car! He was professional and knowledgeable in assisting with the solution. I wish all service was at this level! This is what will keep me a returning customer.

Associate was very happy to help me with questions regarding pairing my phone with my car. The only thing is I stood at the counter approximately 12 minutes looking at him and listening to him on a personal call without him even acknowledging me and at least letting me know he would be with me soon.

I actually shopped in and around Charlotte for a car alarm w/auto start for my newly purchased vehicle. My criteria wasnt just about price but also knowledge of the work entailed. Zeroed in on Freemans Car Stereo, South Blvd. Over the course of two days had conversations with the manager Robert Yates which resulted in setting up an install appt. was told that the job would take 2.5 - 3 hours for completion. Arrived 8:55am for 9am appt., first one in. Vehicle was taken around back at 9:10am. At 10:15am I was surprised to hear that the install was complete. I slid my card to pay for the agreed upon price ($480.00 + tax). Upon approval of payment, I was handed my key and told to have a nice day. I asked, is that it? the response I got was Yup, thats it. Your vehicles out front. I truly expected to be given a demo/consult of what I just spent $500+ for. Nope, did not happen. Fine! Im an adult. Ill just read the manual.I was so taken aback by the speed of the install and not receiving at least a walk around that I left the store and didnt even realize I was never offered a detailed receipt of what I just paid $$$ for. Needless to say I returned the next day and acquired the receipt I should have received the day before upon payment.Today February 16, 2019 four days after install, upon returning from a short run to the store (see pics) I find what appears to be the brain of the set up, hanging from beneath the dash. I guess I just expected better.I will not be returning to this establishment!

This review that I’m writing is for anybody who’s in the market to purchase a car stereo system should by all means shop with freeman’s car stereo in Charlotte North Carolina whether if you are out of state or in state you will not regret it. I’m from New Jersey and around the past holiday I purchased 1 w7 13.5 inch jl audio subwoofer kenwood door speakers plus two jl amp rd 1500 watt and a 400. When I first called the customer service was very very excellent, polite, helpful in every way. I didn’t have all the money upfront and being out of state my mother lives there in Charlotte so I ask her if she could go for me and ask if I could put some money on my stereo equipment. Well she went and they said yes, sure without hesitation. Once I put the 300 dollars down I started paying on my system on a week to week basis without any problems from the staff. The amplifiers wasn’t in stock at the time but there customer service told me they will have the items here in a few weeks and they did. Once the amplifiers showed up I decided too upgrade the amplifiers that I was financing to the jl slash series amps and again they had no problem with the exchange. Listen if it wasn’t for there dedication and great customer service I wouldn’t be getting a car system put in my vehicle here in New Jersey if it wasn’t for them guys I appreciate everything they did from all the conversations we had questions i ask just about everything they was there for me. Best car Audio and service center I have ever worked with. Went in about a month ago because the car wash destroyed my back up camera. Robert with in minutes, although busy replaced the camera at a VERY reasonable price. We were both busy so I went on my quickly way only to find the camera was blurry. It took me over a month to get back there but when I did, Robert changed it out again with no waiting and made sure it was working perfectly. No Charge.Good people, Good service

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I called to ask a question on a new car radio installed in my truck by another business. After installation by that business I had zero radio reception. AM or FM. The excuse from them was a bad antenna. BS. After a short talk with Robert on the phone at Freemans, he said it may be a bad antenna adapter. If he had time hed take a quick look at it. I pulled up to Freemans, Robert came out and pulled the radio and realized the adapter was bent/damaged. He quickly replaced the adapter wire and presto, fixed in 5 mins. I had all my radio stations. You cant ask for better service and knowledge. He nailed the problem before seeing it. If EVER I need anything for my radios I will use Freemans. Thanks Robert.

Stellar local business. The guys are extremely knowledgeable and were able to jump to help me out as soon as I came through the door. I didnt know much about audio when I came in and was guided through what I was going to need to achieve the sound I wanted. I got my 2019 Tacoma outfitted with 2 8-inch JLs subs and Kenwood speakers for a total revamp of the sound. I had to come in a couple times afterwards for some minor tweaks and again, i was helped out immediately with no issues. I couldnt recommend these guys highly enough. Stopped in with my friend to have his factory radio upgraded in his Jeep Wrangler JK. Robert advised to go with the latest Kenwood model as it had all the features I was looking for, plus the radio was on sale at an incredible price. This was right before Thanksgiving, but Robert managed to work the Jeep in. I also elected to go with a backup camera as well. The Jeep was ready in about 5 hours. There were a few issues initially with the location of the camera and the steering wheel controls not operating the radio. Robert contacted Kenwood and determined a programming issue. I took the Jeep back the following day. Within a few hours, everything was I had hoped for. The radio is great and the backup camera a big help. Robert was Fantastic and the crew did a great job. I will be returning to add a subwoofer and upgrade the speakers in 2021. This is the best store in the area for excellent customer service and professionalism. Thanks Robert and the FreemanTeam!!!

Freemans Car Stereo performed a great job on my daughters FJ Cruiser. They replaced the radio with a radio with screen and added a backup camera. We had to be creative with the camera placement and they worked with me to figure it out. Robert was great and Wes is really a conscientious guy that takes pride in his work. Over priced liars and thieves try to charge for parts I didn’t need I will not recommend this place

They went over and above! I was out of town and having car trouble. Had to be towed to a mechanic, who thought the issue was due to a 3rd party remote crank on my car. He referred me to Freemans. The manager, Robert, figured out what the real issue was very quickly and even cleaned my battery terminal for me, which the mechanic had ignored. Im very thankful for his honesty, integrity and chivalry. Being referred to them was a blessing!! I highly recommend this location of Freemans Stereo.

Robert saved me the hassle of having to deal with the people at Best Buy that seem to have an aversion to answering the phone. He was straight forward with me about any concerns he had regarding installation and got me in and out within a few hours this afternoon. My new stereo installation sounds and looks fantastic. These guys do A+ work and are definitely honest about pricing. They have a customer for life. Im thinking of getting so much done to my new Cadillac and other vehicles. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Also they are very knowledgeable of any project you ask about.

Robert and his team fixed my Highlander and took the time to do it right...even though another shop had originally done the work incorrectly they took the time and had the knowledge to perform the repair correctly. Great staff, quality products, and above all Robert and his staff are HONEST!!!! This company will be installing my next car stereo- well worth the 2.5 hour drive and a joy to deal with.
