Rather than learning from the comments of his customers, and trying to evolve, he would rather attack them.Keys and phone got locked in the car, and had to go old school. Twice the price of an Uber and he ignored google maps to take his own route. Dont expect on time service. Be there in 10, became an hour. The owner is a character, you can read his responses to peoples reviews. Not a bad person, just very confident in himself and opinionated. Also came too close to an accident for my liking.

We were out of town for a concert and didnt want to drive our car around and get lost, the cab fairs were very reasonable and the driver extremely nice

I looked at the reviews and said I dont know about this company. But I end up calling anyways. Told the gentleman I needed a taxi to the bus station at 12 he said ok Ill be there. Low and behold I come out the hotel no taxi. I called first he said I didnt call I said I just pushed send on my phone of the last # I called he proceeded to tell me he just got the phone and the other guy never told him and he is too far away. Lucky I tried to get to the bus station early so I got time. The hotel personal tried to warn me but I dont do Uber or Lyft I own 4 vehicles I drove a uhaul here to help someone and heard the airport crazy so bus it is. Ill never use a taxi again in my life. And I see the comments the gentleman gives back please dont there is no excuse for bad business. I own my own business and this is not the way to survive sir when your time is almost up find another job this aint it. I hope no one else is in a rush somewhere and depends on them. YOUR GOING TO BE LATE!

I booked this ride for a guest the night before at the hotel I work at. They didnt show up the next morning and made the guest miss his train. Dont use this company. The problem is....none of the other cab services are good either.Edit: Just look at the response from this guy....Would you trust that? I sure dont. I have no clue what hes talking about. Called at 11:30 pm and the man who answered said theyd be there at 6:20am as requested. Why would you say that if you didnt want the business? Just say no so I can contract a reliable company. They are clearly liars and hold weird grudges. Stay far away.

I paid on my credit card and tipped the driver very well. He knew i had to get to work and made me wait 2 hours. He already got paid so took many people before me. When I got in the car he kept his window down in 20 degree weather . He was very rude and had an attitude the whole ride. I do not recommend this company to anyone especially if you need to get to work

Requested an estimate from this cab company last night... Was given the amount of $ 60.00 Once my son was in the cab and on his way my card was charged $90.00. When i questioned why the huge jump between the estimate and the actual cost I was told.. not really sure what happened. Uber estimate was just under $36.00 so i felt as if $60.00 was pretty accurate. Now, I feel as if I have been scammed. STAY AWAY from the shady cab company.... unless your pockets run deep! The driver was amazing I was running late for my mega bus and the driver got me there in time. Unfortunately I had to ride all the way back to where hed picked me up because I dropped my wallet getting into the cab. But I made it to my bus. I will absolutely be using them again

I will forever be in Debt to Mohammed...my tire blew out on hwy 85 at 6am in the morning....it was of course the darkest part of 85 and soooooo very scary for a female to be abandoned on the road like that...he came in less than 15 mins....not only did he get me to my destination in time!!!! But he assisted me getting my car to the auto shop and since they knew him....I even got his discount....that was only the GRACE OF GOD!!! Someone please tell driver of 1896 to take a chill pill. Tail gating, wrong! Passing me and then giving me a dirty look, wrong! Swinging over in front of me then slowing down, wrong! Making me change lanes as to not to hit you, wrong! Waiting for me to come up beside you, for God knows what! WRONG! Oh, the speed limit is 50, not what you were driving North. Its Sunday morning. I believe this is the worst cab company ever! Very unprofessional and not to mention rude. Ordered a cab at 11:03 dispatcher told me 20 mins. Called back at 11:25, And was told I had to wait additional 20 mins cause I just called. Not only that, I was told I had to pay cash up front or he’s not sending a cab. Worst experience ever! Was told cab would be to my home in 10 to 15 mins and was also ensured that they would make it in time before the place I needed to go closed! I waited 25 mins and called back to ask where the cab was and that there was no way they would make it in time! Guy on the phone said sorry, they wont make it so I am going to cancel service and then hung up on me!!! All he had to do was tell me they couldnt make it to me in time I needed and I wouldve called another company that couldve, but he ENSURED me!!! If they only knew what issued they caused me and did not even care AT ALL!! With Lyft and Uber cab companys should really be on top of ther game!! Ive never waited more than 5 mins for them! I really want to speak to an actual owner!!!

Dispatcher is nice, less you call at night, everyone always seems so dead... But at least customer service is good and usually cabs get on time, only time they arnt there is when they dont have many cabs out working, everyone expects a cab to just be sitting waiting at every gas station or something and expect the cab to just jump infront of them. well its a driving company, when you get in your car to get someone or get somewhere do u get there in 5 mins, no we go thru traffic, lights, everything. so take things into consideration. all these nasty comments are probably bc u guys are nasty to them first

Flew into Charlotte on a Sunday to catch a connecting flight for important business on Monday morning. American Eagle’s regional carrier PSA was in the midst of a massive computer meltdown, all flights cancelled. No flights on ANY airline, no rental cars, no rooms. I got together with a few other stranded passengers to arrange a cab. No idea of the price, we just needed to get it done. Universal was the only company willing to to do the work. Not cheap but fair, and a safe passage down the country roads in a clean, well-maintained vehicle. Hate to admit this but I left my wallet—driver reminded me to grab it. 6 stars out of 5. I wonder if the negative reviewers were some of the folks he was on the phone with all night—one of whom didn’t know their street address, another wasn’t at the pre-agreed pick up spot at the pre-agreed time. This outfit is good to go.

Bad service ever called at 545 am they told me their only 7 minutes away its now 743 am and still havent been picked up but when you call back they say their stuck in traffic. Theirs no cars on the road in my area at that time so their full of lies

Never hired them and wouldnt their driver tried to pass me in a merge instead of getting behind me. Almost caused an accident when he slammed the brakes to be aggressive. Dont hire this company if you value your safety. Road rage is not safe. Called dispatch to report it and some rude guy called me an idiot and said I need to learn to drive. Call an uber these guys are a joke. My kid was in the car and he didnt seem to care about that either. This guys 5 star ratings are also fake it is the owner and associates giving thier own company 5 stars. Wonder if google has policies against a terrible service boosting thier rating. The funny part is they still rate a 2.5.

First, the lady who answered my call has a great excited voice, was suprised bc im use to some man sounding so firm. but anyways, she was nice and helpful and made sure i was helped when my cab was late, i use universal all the time and love when that lady is working she delivers great service. the drivers as well, terreasa,lamont and lius. This had to be the absolute worst taxi company i have used in all of my 9 years living in charlotte. The drivers are rude and always late. The dispatcher will say 10 to 15 minutes and sometimes they dont even show. This company needs to be shut down. The drivers drive under the influence and the cars smells like nothing but marijuana. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

The service was terrible. Plain and simple. I was picked up by the owner of the company. He was 7 minutes late to my airport ride, and when he arrived he honked at 6:00 A.Min my neighborhood prioe to calling to let me know he is there!! He did not get himself out the van to help me load my 2 luggages and carry on item, despite asking him for help with the bags. Another passanger called him in the phone while he was driving. After hanging up, he told that this another passanger booked at the same, and was letting me know I am lucky he chose to pick me as if this was supposed to make me happy. I almost always never write reviews, but this guys service was SO BAD that i needed to do it.

I ordered a cab at 1:56 waited 15 mins just to be assigned a driver and almost an hour wait after he said 20 minutes never again so disappointed.

The service is terrible. Their receptionist is rude and their time frames are not accurate at all. When I call to check on my taxi she said to wait and that I wouldnt find any one faster. I do not recommend them and I WILL NOT USE THEM EVER AGAIN!

Absolutely horrible! Scheduled ahead of time for a cab to arrive at 7:15. By 7:30 no cab had come and I had gotten to call from the company or driver. I called and then was told they would get me a cab immediately. 7:45 rolls around and still no cab. I called again and asked if there would be any adjustment in rate since the cab is late and I was not going to be late for a reservation. I was told it was up to the drivers discretion and they doubt it because it was not the drivers fault that another driver did not show up. Hmmm...may be the drivers discretion but it certainly reflects on your company as a whole. Anyways, I end up calling Uber, which arrived in about 2 minutes, while the cab from this company that I had called way ahead of time was close to an hour late and still hadnt arrived. Lesson learned. Thanks UBER!

Poor ass service period waited an hr.....every time i called back to check the eta they said it would 15mins,15mins 15min then o he cought a flat tire sorry 15more..... so i jus tried a company called green cab it was quick and easy like uber they were very precise wit the time & on time!!! universal is a rip off a fake taxi cab service that will sink in the next yr or so.sad but true uber will shut it dwn....

Cab number 1836 ran a red light, and when I called to report the unsafe driving I was told to f*** off by the dispatcher, this is why lyft is taking all of your fairs

They showed up a little late, but unlike some others, at least they showed up and the divert knew exactly where to go, so that was a plus. A Lil expensive, but at least I made it to work.
