Been here for almost 2 yrs and I have never had any issues with management .James Stinecipher (my property manager) 😀 is very nice and always professional, laid back but yet can get the job done with housing. Summit Properties International is the worst of the worst! In my building my neighbors refer to them as SLUMLORDS!!! I have been in my current apartment for three months and have more work orders in there system then rent payments! On my move in date the person showing the property James Stinecipher stated he would meet me there to do inspection! i still have yet to receive full inspection details. I have wholes in the walls stains on the floor and the painting in the apartment is pass horrible! The current photos are the latest incident! My refrigerator went out Jan5 I put in work order which stated they have permission enter to fix issue! No one came to even check! But instead Rusty is asking me which part is broken as if I’m a repair person per usual! Days later I take off to be home and no response he says it’s he will get back to me and never does and still have yet to step in to even take a look to even know how broken the fridge is! Hours later respond with the Owner (Preston Lane) is the responsibility to make sure the new fridge is ordered but stated he was checking with vendors to get it to me! So which is it your responsibility or his?! So I take another day off no fridge it’s going on a week now and the food is spoiled and I can’t get new Grocery because the fridge does not work! They then drop one off in front of the door pictured there as says he can’t get to it until the next day! I have never known a company to not make leaks, air conditions and refrigeration top priority considering you need those thing above all else. It’s wasn’t until my neighbor called to tell him he would be reporting it because of the Hazard it caused that he then want to have the fridge move at 10 pm on a Sunday when everyone is asleep in the building! Rusty is a lazy man and you can tell from how the properties are handled but since the company is not good he is all they have to offer and if you have only one person in maintenance you would think they would get someone who is more available! Now had he come out and actually looked into the issue he would have found the size of the fridge and was able to order correct one! After moving the fridge in and taking the old one out they realized the size was to big and left it there over night broken down and all of the food on the counter! When asked about reimbursement Shelly advised that things happen and there not able to reimburse for something they did! These people are scams and the owners renting with them should be in contact with there tenants I’m sure they all have stories of how there property is being mishandled!The people are unprofessional and save yourself the headache now!

I recently moved back in December and James and Shelly not only showed me the utmost kindness, but also were so professional and just absolutely amazing to work with. Anytime I need them they are fast responsive and effective at solving my needs. If you are looking for people who genuinely care and are great at what they do look no further. Outstanding job!!!!

We are experiencing horrible customer service for the Homeowners in our neighborhood.

Summit Properties is an EXCELLENT management company, absolutely THE BEST! They have managed my rental property since 2013.  I was apprehensive about renting my property, as I am very busy, and do not have the time nor the experience to maintain and manage the property myself. Summit on the other hand are truly experts in this field.  Once they took over my townhome management, I felt like a huge weight was lifted off of me. They maintain an excellent line of communication with my tenant and myself.  Rental properties require maintenance from time to time.  My tenant has requested repairs on several occasions, and each time it was handled quickly and professionally. Even my tenant was impressed. When repairs are needed, I was immediately notified by Summit, and provided a more than reasonable quote. Their maintenance team addressed the tenants concerns quickly, and without excessive costs to me. My tenant has been renting since 2013, and is very happy with the condition and continued maintenance of the property.  I must say, Summit’s professionalism and commitment to my property, and my tenant, have made renting my property simple. I strongly recommend this company to property owners and tenants alike.

We in this building are very clear of who this company is and why we refer to them as slum lords! The previous tenant had the same refrigerator issue and had children in the apartment! The then give the new tenant the same run around with a refrigerator that was clearly not livable rusted as it was! Then have the nerve to give a bogus response like “we did what we could” like the tenant said the lazy guy never even bothered to come try to look at fix or even measure the fridge! They made time to give a explanation for the review and mention that a new tenant who does not own the property should be providing things like shower rods (that should have already been in the unit) and waiting around accepting orders for a property they don’t own! As you can see these are people who don’t take responsibility for there action and will use any excuse to make themselves look presentable! (Other companies don’t compensate so we don’t) As we were in the hall trying to make sure nobody door was blocked and threatened to call the fire department they are now available to show up but couldn’t for there tenant! Finally show up at ten pm on a Sunday to Disturb is breaking down a fridge in the hall that should have never been placed there in the first place!Most of us have been here 15 plus years Would love to have you in the building but will definitely need to stay clear of these slum lords! We are sure they will have some clever response that we are not able to respond to but that’s what’s important to them!

I rented a property from them for 2 years and was out of my lease when I moved out. I gave them a 30 day notice, cleaned the condo and left the key, everything was communicated to Wendy at the time. Later I found out they placed an eviction on my credit and stated I owed them for 2 months rent. They lied and they are very unprofessional. I contacted them and tried to pay the amount they said I owed to remove the eviction, I spoke to Tally who stated that they no longer have me in their system and they cannot not take my payment because its been 6 years ago. They dont have any records of when I was a tenant and I stayed in a condo from 2013-2015 SMH!. I cant pay them off or dispute this off my credit because its not in the credit bureau but in the rental database. I had a hard time finding a place to stay because of this and still can find a place until 7 years because of this foolishness! I have to rent from private owners. What type of property management company doesnt keep records of previous tenants UNPROFESSIONAL ONES!!! Remove my eviction ASAP!

Please beware of this scamming company! These people are very unprofessional and the people in the office have no respect the old reviews that’s so nice and sweet are I’m sure from people being coached or doctored! There is a reason the company is not growing in its industry beware of the signs!

I have being a rental property owner and investor with Summit Properties for more than a year now and I cant be happier. i was so happy with my first property management with them, i purchase another one. The staff and the Owner are a great team. They are all very nice and helpful. They take their time to work with me no matter what the situation. Rhonda and Taly are the best. They are my realtor and also my property manager. I am looking forward to do more business with them in the future

My family and I moved a long way from my home town in Georgia to relocate to Charlotte, NC.. After several weeks of searching and having issues with adding my husband to a lease bc hes from Nigeria we decided to contact Summit Properties about a very nice lake front condo they had listed. We first spoke with Jake who was very polite and very professional. We met with Rhonda the Office Manger to fill out application. She was absolutely wonderful very polite and very professional also. She notified us that we had been approved that Monday. We met with Jake to see the place and it was more gorgeous in person than on the internet. We have been here a month now and we are very satisfied with the condo and the services we have received from Summit Properties International. They made us feel at home here in Charlotte even before we had a home. Im very thankful to them and will highly recommend them to any one living in Charlotte are looking to relocate to any city they have property available. The are a class act..:-)

Because of all the horror stories Ive heard regarding various rental property companies and because my wife and I are new to the rental owner market, I knew we would have to be diligent upfront in the selection of a company who would be the right fit for us. We chose to go into the rental business to make money and serve our tenants well. We dont have time to mess around with a lot of shenanigans and nonsense. This SPI team knows how to do business. In a word, they are professionals; the real deal. Theyve answered scores of questions and never once have we felt like they didnt know what they were doing or didnt have a handle on things. Most importantly, they follow through on what they say they will do and they are proactive and engaging with us. It gives me great pleasure to issue a very well-deserved 5 stars.

All of the reviews on this company seem to be good. But I must share my experience with this property management company. So here I go... my mother and I were looking for a rental in the summer of 2014. We found a place on Craigslist managed by Summit Properties. At that time, the property manager was Wendy. Im not sure if the broker in charge was Tally or not but I dont believe it was. I say that b/c I signed the lease in 2014 and the property was for sale. That reference leads to the climax of my complaint..pay attention. I signed the lease, moved into the unit in June of 2014. Not a peep from the management company about the sale of the place. No problem. The unit exchanged owners quitely. I actually forgot it had been for sale. The only way I was reminded was a letter from Summit stating it had sold and the rent would remain the same. Awesome! We continued our residence there and dutifully paid the rent on time each month. We called them when something broke and they came to fix it. No quelms. Lets fast forward to 2018. And I dont know what changed as far as the broker in charge but I do know the property manager is now Rhonda and the broker in charge is now Tally.The unit comes up for sale again. We get a VM from 1 of their brokers by the name of Ran. Telling us he is on his way to take pictures of the inside of the property. Operative word telling. Almost certainly betting on the fact that we didnt know our tenant rights. Which we didnt know that you dont have to let them take pictures of the inside if you have a lease. Ran is running (No pun intended.) through the house taking pictures and opening closets with no respect or regard for our privacy. He barely even identified himself when he showed up. He had a cocky standoffish attitude,as well. I mean he was in my home! I had NEVER seen this man before in my life! Why not be professional and cordial??Shortly after putting the place up for sale and uploading photos, that we didnt consent to, the games began. Im talking 3-5 texts daily(In the early morning!) asking to view it. I understand wanting to show a unit but 3-5 texts a day IS EXCESSIVE! It equates to working for something that is not going to benefit you whatsoever. We like to decorate so they got free staging also.The place sold within 2-3 weeks. And I felt like I should have gotten a check from all the work I contributed(tidying up, leaving so ppl can view, waking up early). My reward? A email and letter thanking us for being good tenants telling us to vacate. Mad. But we knew it was coming.We understand this stuff happens but why was this experience so drastically different from the first time this place went up? Was it the difference in the staff and the level of respect and ethics? But it didnt stop there. Oh no! The new owner wanted to bring in all types of appraisers while we were there to make it comfortable for HER when she moves in. Forget our day to day activities. Summit is backing her plans. I was even out of the state on vacation getting texts and phone calls from them on a Saturday asking for the new owner & contractor to come into the place the following Monday. Yep! We agreed on the following Friday. Friday came and we got up early and waited.We got a call from them telling us that a mistake was made and they meant the following Friday. *Sighs. Im to work next Friday and I work from home, mind you. We ended up denying the new owner entry, as moving boxes were stacked and she showed up with 2 ppl and a contractor. Tried to cancel with Summit but they refused. The owner called the police. We excercised our tenant rights and she wasnt able to enter. We only had 2 weeks B4 vacating. Extremely selfish of Summit and the new owner in my opinion.The point Im trying to make is when it is beneficial for the people in the Charlotte office to disregard ethics to gain something,they will do it. Know your rights if you are a tenant!! I cannot stress that enough. They seem to love you if you are buying from them though. Sorry for the length of this review if you made it this far!

I was looking for a place for months and it was really hard getting property management companies to return a phone call or email. Summit Properties was so helpful and quick with responding to my application and getting me moved in. Everyone is so nice and Im grateful to have made the right choice by choosing summit properties :)
