Great stay at the Westin Charlotte! We were there about 6 weeks ago. Convenient location at the edge of uptown. There is also a rail station directly behind the hotel. As a gold Bonvoy member, I received a suite upgrade, which provided a great view of the city.Only downside is that the pool is closed, or at least it was during our visit.
We stayed here on Labor Day. Not a peak time to visit Charlotte. The Westin was spotless. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Very few guests so the enormity of the facility was more apparent. Spent an hour in the fitness center and never saw anyone else. We did miss having room service, another Covid casualty. Would stay again.
I have stayed in this hotel 3 nights a week for 2 years. This hotel is located on the edge of downtown so everything there is accessible by walking. It is directly connected to Stonewall station. It is also along the rail trail which gives you the option of taking a scenic bike or walk along that corridor. The rooms are have the typical Westin look and feel. Some of the corner rooms have extended bathrooms which is significantly larger than the standard bathroom. It has a walk in shower with a separate tub, it also has a window in the shower. The suites are essentially a corner room connected with a standard room. The bedroom is exactly the same as a corner room with the extended bathroom, the living room is a standard room with sofas instead of a bed. The suites have 2 bathrooms. The amenities are also typical with a stocked gym and pool. This hotel accepts package deliveries through the FedEx office so there is a fee to receive packages. The quality of room service food is decent, it is up to par with a standard restaurant. Staff is friendly in all areas of the hotel.
My brother chose this hotel for his wife’s birthday celebration. After keeping this as a surprise, when we got to the hotel I was so flustered. I spoke with Angie who was absolutely amazing. She assisted us with getting all of the rooms situated, explaining parking and sharing the best way to navigate through the hotel so that we were not seen… as well as providing reassurance that this would go off without a hitch. We then realized that the cake would not fit into the fridge. We went back downstairs and Rodney simply said “No problem, we will take care of it for you. This is what we do here!” Love love loved our stay. The customer service and professionalism is superb!
No working ice maker on the floor with luke warm shower water at best. Corner room had amazing view but that was the only amazing thing about the stay.
Positive: Location, clean Negative: Staff took forever to check me in and required multiple attempts. They were very aggressive with guests and mask wearing. The restaurant was closed as were those nearby so I had to eat at the bar with drunk NFL fans
Wonderful experience. Staff is extremely friendly and professional. This hotel was very clean and comfortable. Slept like a baby. I would recommend it and absolutely stay here again.
Dont forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ when booking your room. This site will compare countless hotel sites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you will love it Im sure! Now this is a hotel!! Our room was a Jack and Jill room that was a sitting/living area and a bedroom, two bathrooms. Everything about this hotel was perfect. Would definitely come back!
Positive: My husband and I had a wonderful night at the Westin. We had an amazing meal, with attentive staff and service. The pool and patio is lovely with a cool view of the city. Negative: While the pool and patio had an amazing view, the amenities were slightly lackluster. More tables and seating options to make for a luxurious experience
Nice hotel. Totally unprepared for the Georgia/Clemson crowd. Im sure it was difficult for them, but they could have done better. Charlotte is one helluva place. Id love to come back
Positive: Easy access, great hotel restaurants, Hotel employee at the front desk. Negative: There was a water bottle under the bed which spoke to cleanliness. Also, the parking was pricey..a better discount would be good.
We stayed at the Westin Charlotte over the weekend and had a great time. We had a High floor executive suite. The room was laid out very nicely and open. The bathroom was large and I really enjoyed that, and the views were amazing. The front desk staff was awesome and very kind, the only thing I had a problem was when we valeted out car when we arrived they told us we had to pick up our keys by on Sunday by 12, I went to pick up the keys at 11am and they told me I didnt need to pick them up till i left and they would be at the front desk, when we left i went to get the keys and the front desk told me they didnt have them, they were outside. We went outside to leave and they had my keys and the valet staff was quite rude.
The room was nice. The only downside is that you have to pay $25/per day for parking. No free breakfast but there is a Starbucks. All employees wore masks and were very helpful. If youre attending a Panthers football game this is where you want to stay.
Positive: The staff was wonderful. So welcoming and friendly. The best overall team I have seen in months. Tianne was so warm and did a great job checking me in and everyone I encountered was attentive and smiling.
Positive: The location is excellent and there is plenty of parking. The hotel is well kept and the linens are luxurious. Negative: The sofas in the seating area could be more comfortable and stylish.
Nice hotel...just needs some updates. Staff was very friendly. Valet was quick. Room was nice. The shower was fantastic. No room service while we were there, which was a bummer.
We went for my husband’s birthday and it was a fantastic hotel for the occasion. Great location near lots of restaurants and bars downtown. We loved the city view and the front desk was very nice to us and helped us with our requests. Our room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Loved having a Starbucks in the hotel. Parking garage was easy and I found it to be cheaper than other hotels downtown. 24/hr room service was not active during our stay (probably due to COVID). I would definitely go again!!I would say our only complaint is no one answers the front desk if you call their phone number. I called several times and finally got ahold of them on the online chat through the phone app.
Positive: The view was amazing. Negative: Everything. This hotel smelled like marijuana in the lobby. There was no sign limiting people on the elevators. We are still in a pandemic and random strangers without masks should not be in the elevator. Housekeeping just opened my door without knocking.
Whatever negative review that is on here, you can ignore. Those people are just miserable. This hotel is absolutely beautiful and amazing. The location in uptown Charlotte is perfect. The lobby is large and elegant with a lounge and bar. My room was clean, spacious and very nice. I stayed in a king suite on the 21st floor, with beautiful veiws of the city. The shower is large, compared to other hotels. The only negative thing is you do have to pay for parking. Its $25 a day, its not the end of the world considering inflation and what it costs to park in NYC or Boston! Last buy not least it is a 9min walk to Ruth Chris steakhouse.
Hotel furniture was good and the people that worked there were extremely nice. However…Many of the channels on the TV were low quality, the windows were dirty, theres no snack vending machines or other food there past 10, the parking is over complicated, and limited elevators for the amount of people coming in and out.
Positive: Great location for getting around the heart of Charlotte. It was comfortable, safe, great restaurant for breakfast. The staff was accommodating and the room was fine. I will stay here again. Negative: The mattress was 9/10.
I have stayed here before and had an excellent experience. However, my most resent visit was extremely unpleasant. Initially, I was given a room that smelled like a sewer. Without incident maintenance confirmed there was an odor and moved me to a different room. In the new room, after getting comfortable in bed, I notice dried blood on the duvet. I kindly removed the duvet and inspected the rest of the sheets. The other pieces of linen did not have anything on them. The next morning I informed the front desk attendant about the duvet. She seemed surprised yet unbothered. Im not sure if I would stay here again.
Positive: Very clean Negative: We received a good deal, but it cancelled out with having to pay for parking, wifi, and breakfast. Get just as good service at Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express...plus free parking, wifi, and continental breakfast. Disappointed in 4 star rating.
Starts with hotel messed up my reservation. Had me arriving on Wednesday when I arrived on Monday. Called in and got a call center, they couldn’t help. Said they would “escalate” it to management and I would receive an email. Never received the email and I called back again, same story. I booked at another hotel for the other two days. When I did arrive at Westing, the hotel is nice, clean. However, there are homeless people who linger outside the doors and Verbally abuse the patrons. My room was clean but was hotter than hades. Maintenance looked at it and said that is how the A/C operates. It was so uncomfortable I could not sleep. You have many choices of places to stay in this area (even other Marriott), the Westin Charlotte should not be one of them.
It was a beautiful, & spacious hotel! Parking is kind of confusing but once you figure it out its fine! The room was clean & spacious! The lighting in the rooms is nice & we loved all the mirrors...the bathroom was absolutely stunning! ..we will definitely be back!..only thing that sucked was no room service but the bar/restaurant stayed open late so order from there & take it to your room!
Spend you money elsewhere. This hotel for being a category 5 is in desperate need of attention/updating. I’ve seen Hampton Inns in better shape. For the same price you can find nicer hotels in the area. The construction around the hotel also doesn’t help. For Hilton Honors benefits I also recommend looking at other hotels. This hotel doesn’t recognize your level, no matter how high.
First was giving the wrong room at checkin, called downstairs was told to come back down to switch our room. Get back downstairs to be told there are no more rooms that I requested. Had to keep the same room, get back upstairs to find a NASTY DIRTY bathroom. 😡 The toilet had to be cleaned by me before my wife could use it, hair in the shower. Asked for housekeeping they left for the day, asked for a manager he wouldn’t be available for another hour. Anniversary night didn’t go so well.
From The moment I got to the front desk to check in excellent service!!!! Rodney was very kind! Accommodating! He gave us a beautiful room on the 22nd floor with a beautiful view! Thanks to housekeeping for a really clean room! Even the carpet and furniture was clean and that saids a lot for me because am very picky in where I stay! I give this hotel a 5 star 🌟 oh and also the young lady at the 🍸 bar sweetheart! Will definitely stay again and again
Excellent service here at the westin! Rodney at the front desk was terrific. Great hotel and amenities super clean. Most of all we will be back thanks to Rodneys terrific service!
Great staff, awesome views from room, lots of amenities in hotel, clean room (some of cleanest rooms Ive seen). Linens, towels, and bed all great quality. Really enjoyed my stay here, would definitely stay again.
Clean hotel, room great view. Front desk staff friendly, and professional. Kim was great and very helpful. I enjoyed breakfast.I loved that hotel served turkey sausage, and Margaret was very nice.
Positive: The room was top notch! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We would definitely go again when we are in Charlotte.
From the moment I got to the front desk to check in excellent service! The youn guy who was working gave us excellent service 👏he was very accommodating! And very kind! My room was on the 22nd floor with a beautiful view! Room was very beautiful and clean! Definitely will stay again! 5 star 2 me and am very picky about where I stay!
Pleasant comfortable rooms. Excellent service from the employees. Restaurant is very expensive.
Positive: What I expect from a Westin in comfort. Negative: The gentleman at the front desk was acting as if he wanted to be elsewhere. He was rude.
Positive: Staff was exceptional. Bar staff was outstanding Negative: Nope. All good!
Positive: The location was ideal. It was not only very close to uptown attractions but it was on the trolley stop making it easy to jump to other parts of town. The South End area was lots of fun to visit and only three trolley stops. Negative: The restaurant offerings were limited but that was mainly due to Covid so it shouldnt be an issue in the future.
Nice layout of rooms, restaurants, parking and easy walking to everything..BOA stadium and Spectrum areana
Room was ok, having to pay $25 per day for parking is understandable to a certain degree, but this place is the only hotel I know charging to use wifi. Here visiting but will never stay here again!
Absolutely beautiful hotel and friendly yet very professional staff with excellentcustomerservice!. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back AGAIN SOON.
It was okay. Nice hotel but you have to pay extra for things like working WiFi, parking, and breakfast. Or at least we did.
Positive: Exceptionally Clean and cozy room professional courteous staff. Negative: No
Positive: Clean rooms; cards to your own floor-- Negative: The fee for parking-- other surrounding hotels has free valet
This place is way overpriced. No microwave or coffee pot, everything is very expensive, pancakes were $14. Not a good experience for a regular person. Dont waste your time or money. They even charge for parking in their own parking lot. This place is a joke.
The indoor pool was the best. It was nice & warmed. Beautiful place for a staycation. This is our second time here and would stay again. Room was clean, coffee maker wasnt working, but its okay Starbucks! Choose rooms located higher to avoid hearing the CLT cars & traffic.
No food after a certain time. Not even the premade food is to service. Do yourself a favor and get any other hotel cause if you come in late...they still refuse to open the fridge. Would not recommend..... Go else where
Positive: Very close to the highway and within walking distance of local restaurants.
Nice Westin overall...main reason I stayed here is that they Peloton bikes in the gym!
Positive: The staff was very friendly and attentive. It¿s the first I¿ve ever walked in to check in with a line and was done in 15 minutes, Negative: No
This is the new premiere location in Charlotte. The development around here is extensive. There is a whole foods right next door and an attached covered parking garage. As with all Westons, consistent quality. Pool was open and empty as was the workout area. Bar and restaurant were open and masks and social distancing measures were in place with no exceptions. Great views of downtown or west. Right across from the Nascar Hall of Fame which is a really fun time for all ages.
Positive: Very nice and clean. Negative: The pool is very shallow. They claim it is a lap pool but the shallow end is so shallow your arms hit the bottom if you try to actually swim (especially backstroke).
Wow another great stay a a super hotel. Stayed on the 24th floor lived it... Clean, and fun place.. Id do it all over soon
No wifi if youre not a Marriott member, which sucks. Great front desk service and a comfortable stay
First off, let me start by saying, I have stayed at 2 star hotels that have more amenities than this 4.4 star hotel. Okay?My husband and I decided that we wanted to treat ourselves to a night in the city. We wanted to do it up right. We selected The Westin SPECIFICALLY for their amenities. NO OTHER REASON. We wanted to dress up nice for dinner, and not have to leave our hotel to dine out at a restaurant. The Westin lists their restaurant, JP Charlotte as being open for service. It is NOT. They are serving food in the bar, which is in the lobby. That is NOT the same thing. I am not going to put on my little black dress, heels, do my hair and make-up, to sit in your lobby! We also intended to make use of the room service amenity for breakfast. They currently are not offering room service. They ALSO are not offering breakfast. Which, even if they were, is $25 PP!! Again, a 2 star hotel typically has FREE breakfast. The Westin, a 4.4 star hotel, has NOTHING. But also still lists that they do. They also are not currently offering valet parking. You have to park your own car in the parking deck, and walk over. Not an issue for us, we werent planning on using it anyway. But it IS an issue for some. Do not list amenities that you do not have! No restaurant, no room service, no valet. They arent even running the fountains in the front, which looks awful. The end tables, and nightstands in our room hadnt been wiped clean by housekeeping from the previous guests. I dont know whats on there! Even before the pandemic, that should be standard practice to be wiping every surface in a room! GROSS. This is a 4.4 star hotel. We expected MUCH better. The front desk staff was clueless to all of this, and completely incompetent. There was a female manager working in the morning, (4/25) her name may have been Kim, she did listen to our complaints, and did hear us. Apparently, we were not the first. Go figure.Marriott, FIX YOUR WEBSITE. Take these amenities down. And, reduce the nightly charges to reflect the lack of amenities. Get it together.
Place is clean and the staff are very nice. Its nice to get away to a city for a night
Positive: Location Negative: Everything was great. I just expected the hotel itself to be more GRAND like other westin hotels i have visited. I.e. Atlanta, Los Angeles.
The westin was really nice. It was definitely worth staying here. The only thing that wasnt so pleasant was the lady at the front desk. She wasnt welcoming at all. Its ok to smile.
I completely understand having a skeleton crew because of COVID, but this hotel is disgusting. I looked at the same overflowing trash on my floor by the elevators for my whole stay. There was nowhere to sit and enjoy the outside so I sat by the water feature that was not working; it wasn’t even kept clean. The bartender in the restaurant was great though! It was so bad I went Marriott City Center after the 1st night.
Positive: I loved the whole experience! The room was clean and cozy! Negative: The only issue we had was the bathroom door would not stay closed. We had to put something against the door when someone was in there for it to stay shut.
Not worth the price. Unfortunately, it use to be a nice hotel but it has gotten progressively worse. Everything was relatively dirty, my first room was flooded when I checked-in and the second room’s AC barely worked. Go to the Marriott a couple blocks away.
Positive: Friendliness and I felt safe Negative: No
Absolutely wonderful.... cant wait to go back!
Positive: Very friendly Negative: Needs updating. Rooms are a little tired
Positive: The room was very comfortable and clean. The young man at the front was very engaging. Negative: they charged for in room computer service.
Nice clean hotel must eat inside at the restaurant great cook
Three night stay attending a convention.Very nice hotel.
Positive: Wow!!!! A beautiful hotel with an amazing bed and view. Negative: I loved everything about it.
I was on the top floor. Beautiful views and very clean space. Friendly receptionists
Positive: Very nice, hotel Negative: I loved everything
The Westin is a nice hotel with nice rooms, a heated pool, and a full gym. Our only issue was the water temperature. I think they were working on it during our stay, but the shower in our room (11th floor) was barely temped. We had to go down to the gym on the 3rd floor to use the locker room showers.
Positive: Location and view from room Negative: Additional Pay for parking
Positive: The location and the class of the establishment. Negative: Paying for parking was a bit of a minus, but nothing too bad.
Positive: Great rooms and the staff was very pleasant!
Worst place ever. Beds where uncomfortable, they refused to service our room since we didn’t stay more then 4 nights. Desk help was rude. Would never stay there again
Positive: Well maintained and excellent service.
Positive: Yes this best hotel deals
One of our favorite hotels. Clean comfortable rooms with great food and drinks
We booked this hotel for a nice getaway weekend in Charlotte. After driving about 5 hours to get here, we arrived about two hours before check in. (We arrived about 1:15p on 03/27). Our room was not ready, which was not a problem at all. However, we proceeded to ask the hotel desk woman for two cups. We brought drinks with us, and after a LONG drive, we just wanted to hydrate while we waited. The lady was very rude and intrusive about the entire situation. She refused to give us plastic cups, stating she could not provide this since we were not checked in. After offering to pay for the cups and/or adding them to our tab since she had our credit card information, she proceeded to ask “why do you need cups if you’re not checked in?.” Unfortunately this was our FIRST introduction to this hotel, which was enough to make us want to cancel the entire reservation, and go elsewhere. Her customer service was terrible, and made us feel unwelcome within 2 mins of arriving. We expressed our concern to another employee when checking in later that evening around 6. She was nice and apologized for the inconvenience, but unfortunately this situation really put a damper on our entire stay.
Positive: The rooms, the facility, and the location were all wonderful. Negative: No
Positive: Great location and super staff! Negative: Zero, just wish my trip was longer
Positive: Good location Negative: Front desk staff
My stay was wonderful. The bigger issue was your associate Valerie B. who was immensely rude during our exchange. As if my frustration of being charged twice after Id initially paid for my room wasnt enough, being over-talked, spoken to in a demeaning tone, left on hold just to be transferred to a managers voicemail after previously being told no one else can help me in giving a straight forward answer because she was NUMERO UNO was very tasteless, unprofessional and quite uncalled for. Ms. Valerie even went so far as to address me as Honey instead of my name when I asked her repeatedly to not do so. She insisted that there was a system error and not a human error when in actuality, the associate at the time of checkout had simply not verified if the room was already paid for. To have the error of your hotel staff waved off as a system error instead of acknowledging the mistake as your own, was very undiscerning. Again, the initial charge was refunded, and the pending charge did not process, and so my problem is resolved. However, and not that any of you seem to care, but I wont be staying at this hotel again.
Probably the worst hotel stay Ive ever hadm. Considering the price I felt like I had zero amenities. Please dont book here if youre looking for comfort. Definitely letting my 30k followers know.
Positive: Room size Negative: Being put in a parking garage that was very far away from hotel, not having access to elevator. Also, being given a room that belonged to someone else & seeing their room is disarray and the odor of illegal drugs through the hallway
Nice clean big rooms.
Nice hotel, on site self parking.
Great hotel and great location. Stayed here many times. Family and I stopped last night and snagged two rooms. All was good, but they put us on a wedding party floor. I have a 6 and 3 year old. So needless to say, with all of the commotion and yelling adults and slamming of doors, it was less than desirable. Question: why put a family on a wedding party floor? Be smart and put non-wedding people on a different floor. Security was great and responded quickly. But of course the quiet didn’t last long. Just be smarter when assigning rooms.
Didnt vaccum under the bed, no decent wifi, charged wrong credit card, air conditioning would turn off in middle of the middle of the night, pillows were awful, and the pizza I ordered downstairs made me sick.Terrible terrible hotel.
Positive: It was located around everything Negative: No
Positive: The location Negative: The cleanliness on the outside and inside. The cleanliness of the bedding and rooms
I love the WESTIN, where ever I travel to I try to stay at a WESTIN if I can. I must say tho out of all of them that I have stayed at CHARLOTTE the most low keyed..others seemed to be more GRANDE..starting from the entrance to the rooftop restaurant or the spinning bar. ..I still had an awesome experience!!
Not bad, but not worthy of Westin. No bathroom counter space, one of those difficult-to-figure-out showers that appeared broken. No coffee maker or microwave, but coffee supplies for a tease. Courteous staff, clean, and nice location. No food service due to the pandemic but I dont hold that against them.
Do not stay here if it would financially inconvenience you to accidentally have your card “pre authorized” twice. We stayed here for Valentine’s Day with reservations booked, a shopping day planned, and no expectation of a inconsiderate hotel. They charged us twice for the room, didn’t care, and then told us it could take 72 hours for the funds to be returned as if they played no part in the situation. All we wanted was a sincere effort to resolve or pacify the issue. They literally tried to blame our bank for the length of time it could take to see our funds again, not to mention Monday is a holiday. I would’ve gladly stayed here again if they’d showed some consideration for the inconvenience this hotel caused their guests. AND it happened to multiple people. Do better.
Im a local who was at the bar... bartender Courtney is awesome.
