Remember to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking any place. This web site will compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Youre welcome :)! This resort is one of my favorites in the area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely wont be disappointed.Love the Marriott family. The room was top notch. The hotel was within walking distance of everything my wife and I wanted to see. The staff was overly friendly. We just had a great experience and cannot wait to come back. Brandon at the front desk is a customer service expert!
July 22 - August 7, 2021By far the best Marriott experience Ive had to date. The staff was amazing end helpful the entire time I was there. The location is walking distance to any and everything youd want to do uptown. Food options in and outside o the restaurant were great. Charlotte Marriott City Center has the best hotels fitness facility Ive been in and the free laundry room right next door was perfect.
Arrived on a Friday afternoon at 5. It was very busy, but valet got to me right away and was able to answer a few questions I had as well. Check-in was also very smooth, even with there being a line. Id say I was into my room 10 minutes after parking.I had a large king room that provided ample work/relaxation space in a corner with a great view of the city. Like other reviews have said, you can definitely hear everything below. Even 11 floors up, I could hear interactions at street level along with squealing tires, bells, horns, etc. I sleep pretty easily and its a Friday night in the summer, so none of this really bothered me. If youre a light sleeper, though, this might be something to take into consideration. With a long day of travel ahead, I was out the door at 5 AM the next day. Valet was again courteous and efficient. If I visit Charlotte again, Id be back
I always love this hotel. It’s in a great location and the staff is nice. I was disappointed that the executive lounge only has a skimpy grab and go these days. But the room was great and the hotel is very comfortable and the restaurants are pretty good if you want to just stay in.
Positive: Location. Once you valet your car at the hotel there¿s a high chance you don¿t need to move it again. Great food, activities, and event centers are in walking distance. Negative: We had to move twice upon checking in. The first room was dirty, literally had not been cleaned. The second room had no light in the bathroom (which had the only mirror in the room so the light was needed).
There is NO room services. No food, no drink, no cleaning, no towels. Seriously, this hotel has 4.5 stars and has nothing? Staff was rude when I inquired about what service was available. How dare they be bothered. No worries. Parking is available for $35/day. My last stay
Love the Marriott family. The room was top notch. The hotel was within walking distance of everything my wife and I wanted to see. The staff was overly friendly. We just had a great experience and cannot wait to come back. Brandon at the front desk is a customer service expert!
I purchased an expresso at Co Co and the Director very nice people atmosphere is great.
DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL! I booked a room in January 2021 for a weekend trip in September 2021 - I was just informed (1 week before my reservation) that my room has been cancelled due to an incompetent staff that overbooked the hotel. The GM informed me that there is nothing he can do about it so I would highly advise you consider other properties that can handle properly managing a hotel.
The dinging bells of the light rail right outside the hotel will keep you up tillMidnight and wake you up at 4:45am. If it’s not that, it’ll be the club/bar across the street. Bells are every 10-15 mins. I was on an upper flood and could still hear it clearly.
Great location. Clean room, bathroom mend sheets. Non-carpeted floors, which is great. Billy, at the front desk is the epitome of southern hospitality. Valet is so helpful and friendly.
Great hotel, great room, BUT YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING ALL NIGHT. If you need to get up early and get some sleep, stay somewhere else. If you are going to be up all night partying, this is great! Trains and the station below honking their horns past 1 A.M., people talking on the streets, people racing their cars all night, and anyone closing their door to their room. It would be an amazing stay if we couldnt hear every little thing and had to get up early.
Had a “guaranteed reservation” that because of their own poor planning was cancelled and moved to another hotel outside of the area. I purposely booked this specific hotel to accommodate my medical needs and proximity to what I was attending months in advance and they decided that it didn’t matter, they could move me. Probably because I booked at a lower rate significantly in advance. Poor customer service. Poor planning. Absolutely disappointing. Don’t book if it might be a busy weekend, they won’t honor it.
My stay there was great! I couldnt hear my neighbors, the staff are willing and ready to help you. The parking is convenient, and most importantly you do not have to go far (as in more than a 4 minute walk!) for drinks, food, or night clubs. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to be close to the fun!
Positive: Hotel was very clean. Valet parking was incredible. The staff was very friendly and manner. Negative: I have no complaints,I was very happy with this hotel.
Positive: The hotel was nice looking and the king size bed was comfortable Negative: The restaurant wasn¿t open even though I was advised it would be and the staff failed to notify me that you had to pay for WiFi every night you were there (not did the website) and I didn¿t find out until I got the excess charges on my card.
Woah! Cant wait to come back again! Booked this hotel for a great price at ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ I like this resort and Im really happy I stayed here much cheaper than what I normally spend.I had a room facing the water, clean room soft bed. Very spacious. Spur of the moment booking, no push back very friendly service at door. Though a bit more expensive than other hotels in the area its proximity to 85 coupled with the sheer elegance of the staff and rooms is worth it!!!
Friendly service, customer care is awesome and their banquet events are to be admired. They take care of you.
The older male valet (assuming it was a manager) was not pleasant and had an attitude upon arrival and departure. As the first face of your company, the level of customer service should be higher. However, the rest of your hotel staff was nothing but wonderful! :)
When I was reviewing Google photos there was a pool shown. There is NO pool at the hotel. Most of the drink vending machines were sold out. The in hotel store was closed by 11 so it was impossible to get a snack or drink.
Valet parking only but overall a very nice place. The bed was super cozy!!Clean facility.
Positive: The room was nice and clean and well furnished Negative: Had to pay $100 deposit for incidentals. $100 is a bit much
Very well situated and clean rooms. Excellent interaction with staff friendly and accomdating especially Charlotte at the front desk and all the guys at the valet. I was in town for business but with a high roof van that wouldnt fit in the garage. They all took care of me!
Well lets start off by saying it was beautiful.Thats about it. When we checked in we were informed that the restaurant and lounge would not be open our entire stay.Next to be told no room service available. Then we get to the room there is 1 washrag. You heard it right 1. We asked for more we were told we could only have 2 because there isnt any? Excuse me you do not have anymore ? Worst place by far no trash bags in any of the trash cans . Marriott step it up or close because you suck and for the price you charge wash cloths should not be an issue.
Excellent stay! Everyone was very attentive and nice and there was great service. Valet is very busy but besides that we had no issues. The rooms were nice too.
We had an enjoyable stay here at the Marriott City Center with not much to complain about. It’s true what the reviews say- you can hear everything all night long. Fire engines, police, general humanity, etc., it’s loud. The noise didn’t bother me but my wife had a hard time sleeping amidst the chaos. Not a reason to avoid, just maybe bring some ear plugs. Staff was great and very helpful!
Modern property will great set up for events and conveniently located. The valet service was great for Parking as well
Overall comfortable beddingHosts made it easierBrandon was impeccable!Makes you feel welcomed. You would not know if he liked his job or not.
This location is trying to cancel my reservation for Sept 3-5. They claim they are overbooked. I made it 5 months ago at $350 a night and now can get over $600. This is gouging and needs to be resolved. Dont expect this from Marriott.
Checked in and our room smelled like pee. Asked for a different room and to be close by the rest of our party. They put us on a difderent floor and said someone would bring the key up. 20 minutes later….. still sitting outside the room waitinf on the room key. Walked downstairs to ask about the key and they hadnt even sent anyone. On the way back up Im in the elevator with someone with a huge dog cage. Walked into our “new” room and it smells like pee too. Never again. Last night at Uptown Marriott. Front desk was NOT friendly or helpful.
Positive: excellent location, restaurant is very good for breakfast Negative: room floors need attention, it was very dirty so that you dont wont want to walk barefoot on it.
I am a Loyal Marriott Titanium Member, therefore I have certain expectations when I stay at Marriott properties. This hotel and the service I received, was very disappointing. This was my third stay at this property since May, and will be my last. With every stay there were issues. My first stay, the glass door leading in to the bathroom fell off the tracks and nd luckily my daughter and I caught it. Second stay, we were given false information about the restaurant and bar times being open. The restaurant is not fully open, only on the weekend. This last trip I checked in on July 9-12, was the final straw. We checked in on Friday night and when we opened the door between out two connecting rooms, there was a roach. My daughters screaming, I had to kill the roach. When I went to call the front desk, I discovered the in room phone didnt work. After calling down on my cell phone, I explained to the gentleman I had a roach in my room, he stated that he didnt believe that, at which time I indicated he could come and see the roach dead on the floor where Id killed it. I asked for a room change. He changed our rooms and moved us to two smaller rooms. At this point its after midnight and were ready to go to bed. I did not hear from the front desk on Saturday at all, with any kind of apology. So I went to the front desk that afternoon and reported my issues from the night before to the young man at the desk. He said yes he was aware, and he thought he would have heard from me sooner. He said hed discuss the issues with his manager and hes get back to me. My daughter also requested the room to be cleaned. I never heard back from them, nor was the room cleaned. On Sunday as we prepared to leave the hotel, there was a foul feces smell at the elevator area. We reported this to the front desk. We were told that the hotel is supposed to be an animal free hotel, but people still bring dogs and thats what the smell was from. I also talked to her about all the issues I had, and she states she add 5000 rewards points to my account. Not nearly the response I expected after so many issues. At that moment, I knew this would be my last visit. If you dont value a Titanium Member more than 5000 points, you dont need my business. This Marriott needs to be a better job of cleaning and sanitation, COVID is still here.
Allowed us to check in early with friendly staff and great room. View was nice and lobby is very cool and spacious.
Positive: Location and cleanliness Negative: More pillows lol
Let me first say, Krissy and Scott are great. I dont want any of my complaints to overshadow how helpful, friendly and empathetic they are.Back in January, I booked a room at this property for Sept 3-5 (Georgia/Clemson Weekend). In the weeks leading to our stay, I received at least 2 emails asking if I still wanted to keep my booking. After acknowledging the first email and confirming my stay, I received yet another email the week after asking if I still wanted to keep my reservation - and notifying me of updated COVID/mask regulations. After the 2nd email, it had me worried the property was overbooked and it was possible theyd move me to another location. I called the property, inquiring about the multiple emails and reiterating my status level with Marriott - front desk directed me to Sales and Sales said we cant give out any information at this time about my reservation but that they would call me back. They called back and confirmed my reservation, fortunately. My beautiful wife and I arrived on Fri, Sept 3. The property was very nice - modern, trendy and clean. They even accommodated an early check-in, which we appreciated. As the day progressed, we kept seeing signs for Field Day Georgia/Clemson check-in. Curious as to what it was, I researched it online. I found out it was a Fraternity/Sorority party organization that books room blocks, parties, DJs, etc. for major college football games. As the day progressed, we noticed hundreds of Fraternity/Sorority members trickling into the hotel - hardly any of which were wearing masks. The hotel staff was trying to give out masks, but there was very little enforcement. Those arriving were very loud and were starting to leave beer cans and cups in the elevators, starting around 8p. The maids were already mopping up floors in the elevator area by the lobby. Hearing Fraternity/Sorority members making loud noises in the hall and seeing all that we had, I expressed concerns to the front desk about booking this group - l was assured they had security in place and that these members were placed in room blocks. I personally felt it was naive to think security in the lobby would cut down stuff upstairs by the rooms - its a lot to ask drunk college students to be quiet around other guests.Around 930p, we started increasingly hearing noises around our room, loud noises, from these students - and it wasnt even late nor were they drunk yet. Concerned, we contacted the staff again and complained. This is where Krissy and Scott were wonderful. They were completely empathetic to our situation and helped us relocate hotels due to the issues. Their response was the only thing that would make me even think about staying here again.Id like whoever allowed the Field Day Greek crowd to stay here to really consider several things: 1) was allowing this group to stay worth the brand hit youll take from the other patrons at your hotel, some of which paid over $500/night to stay and would not want to deal with maskless students, drunk/loud and leaving beer everywhere. 2) is it worth putting your Housekeeping and normal staff under this kind of pressure to keep the property clean and even attempt to mask the guests? 3) reading other reviews online, was it worth relocating oversold guests to other properties and allowing a disruptive crowd to stay? I hope you think about these things in the future, as it really waters down a 4* hotel/brand to allow this kind of nonsense. Save that stuff for a lower tier Marriott property.
Friendly staff. Very clean hotel in the middle of everything you’ll want and need away from home. I stayed in a King Suite in the corner and it was perfect.
Completely lack services… Restaurant is closed 4 out of 7 days a week. No coffee shop available, area around hotel is lacking as well not designed for business travelers
I had a room facing the water, clean room soft bed. Very spacious. Spur of the moment booking, no push back very friendly service at door. Though a bit more expensive than other hotels in the area its proximity to 85 coupled with the sheer elegance of the staff and rooms is worth it!!!
The hotel was beautiful. Did have a maintenance issue with my door lock that was resolved. However I did not like the car valet process because I was stuck in line waiting while breathing toxic fumes for over 20 minutes. The valet needs to shut off the engines when they pull up the vehicles. When you have six to eight cars all idling in one spot with a bunch of people standing around its not a good situation.
Nice hotel good location a lot of homeless people around on the street but otherwise a good vibe
Brandon is a superb host.Just a natural gift to serve the people! My Stay was impeccable
Positive: the cleanliness Negative: i left my watch in the room and it was recovered
Wouldn’t take cash. This is America not China. You assumed everyone would be aware of this policy by visiting the website but you would be incorrect.
Definitely not one of the better Marriotts. Restaurants and bars closed. Room was marginal. Over priced for what we received. Not sure how it could possibly get a 5 star review. Looks like some ballot box stuffing!
Great location...good access to restaurants and entertainment....restaurant inside and coffee shop were nice...check in inexperience was bad for a Marriott....just handed us keys...no explanation of where to go to get to our room...wifi..amenities...couldnt break large bils to tip staff...felt as though I was annoying them.
Positive: The location was perfect. Negative: They required valet parking that was $35. Also, you had to pay for their Wifi if you wanted to use it.
Very nice hotel. Will be better once everyone is back to work.
This is a four star hotel, but the rooms are built paper thin walls. You can hear every word of conversion from the next room over.Additionally, the housekeeping staff rolls in at 8am sharp knocking on every door and letting them slam loudly. Do not come here if you value sleep.
What a great location. The hotel was beautiful. I was at first disappointed since we had paid the extra cost of a corner room. Our room (1601) had a single window on the end of the building, while our neighbor (1603) had the room facing forward. I casually asked the desk person about the extra cost for a corner room that wasnt on the corner. He explained that he believed all rooms advertised as corner rooms fell into that floorplan. But even though this could have been a result of my misunderstanding, or even a result of their inexact wording in their advertising, he was quick to offer me the regular room rate. It was a really nice gesture and Im glad we chose this hotel. Best location in downtown Charlotte, with super desk staff.
Positive: Beautiful and great place to stay. Negative: No.
Lovely Hotel.... great stay & Brandon was an absolute pleasure to deal with.... our Wedding was handled wonderfully.... I def recommend it....
Positive: Location was good Negative: The room ad was misleading and staff was reluctant to assist beyond the bare minimum. Valet was too aggressive and less welcoming and took to long to bring your car around.
Extremely noisy at night from cars, motorcycles and fire engines. Service was great but the noise at night was horrible.
Not the fault of the hotel, but I will not be staying here again. The city of Charlotte has a light rail that stops right by the hotel. At every stop, a bell rings. This started at 4:30 every morning and did not stop until 11 each night. I was on the 15th floor and it was really loud.
Stayed a long weekend with family to explore Charlotte - surprisingly great food and breweries. Rooms were clean and updated, ok sized for a city hotel, beds comfortable as expected of a Marriott. M Club still not open even with Covid Restrictions loosening and the hotel seems busy. Bar and coffee shop were open and food was great - try the croinuts! Indoor staff were masked and probably half the guests. We all felt safe and most people were conscientious not to crowd into the elevators. What didn’t work was the parking - no self parking option, valet only when we were there. The young men did their best but were disorganized with no traffic control. The drop off area is small and had cars seemingly parked in one of the two possible lanes. Cars lining up the streets waiting at times and inevitably inconsiderate drivers blocking the lane etc. Just a mess so expect some delay here. Unfortunately we couldn’t identify any other parking options in this city center.
Totally unimpressed for a Marriott that’s supposed to be a 4 star hotel. I’m a Titanium Elite status with Bonvoy so believe my review - don’t waste a dime of your money here. Pillows and sheets were very old. There were strands of hair in my bed. TV didn’t work and I called the front desk - lady (rude lady btw) there had no clue what was going on and told me to connect to the WiFi. Sent a technician who was clueless as well although I told them repeatedly it’s because the TV was still connected to whoever stayed in the room before me.Towels had a bad smell and for the price, you’re better off at a 2 or 3 star hotel in the same neighborhood.Bad experience overall. I’m not staying there again and would NEVER recommend it to anyone also.
If anyone out there is trying to find great deals for hotel rooms check ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ reserved a hotel room on there and they had the best rates worldwide!I loved my stay here. The receptionists were so sweet and welcoming and the room was above my expectations. The hotel is walking distance to many places. I would definitely come again.
Nice, clean hotel. Right in the center of everything. Only downfall was that we couldnt have our room refreshed during our stay, and had to call several times for fresh towels. We were told this was due to covid-19 procedures & a staff shortage. Otherwise, very nice stay.
We stayed here after an unexpected night in Charlotte, and it was definitely a good choice. We were able to check our bags there as we wandered the city after checkout.
Room was nice, in house food was bland, and lacked any kind of flavor whatsoever. Their drinks were made with good stuff, but tasted far from good.
It’s obvious every thing must start with Distinguished leadership here! Staff are extraordinarily helpful, thoughtful and supportive of each other. All areas are constantly cleaned and orderly. Everything you need in one location the best experience you could get in times of COVID-19.
The valet process was chaotic and stressful; however, the hotel itself was very nice.
The reason I gave it only two stars was that I had asked for a handicap accesible room with shower accessibility. However, it was a regular tub that I was unable to use. Changing rooms was uncomfortable for me and so I used my Daughters shower who had a walk in shower. Other than that, the accommodations were very nice. This is the second time I have stayed there and was disappointed that this happened.
Positive: The hotel is very clean. The staff were friendly and answered all questions with no issues. The room was spotless and has a more modern design. The coffee shop was open until 8pm. Negative: We had to pay to self park. I was charged for internet and I didnt use any internet from them(I have Verizon unlimited). There was no ice bucket in the room.
Positive: Rooms were very well kept and all the public spaces were clean and welcoming. Negative: Staff was a little rude
Positive: Location, friendliness and professionalism of staff.
Very clean, great rooms, and great location to walk around Charlotte.
Members lounge is closed but bar is open? At least their policies are consistent... Also my bathroom door was broken so the weird glass sider was stuck open for the first 18 hours.Awesome location and Im sure once they actually provide the amenities that you become accustomed to living half your life in a Marriott Ill bump up the rating but currently covid had caused their standards to falter
Positive: The cleanliness, guess service, and location. Negative: Everything was awesome.
Very clean and great location, with lots of great restaurants near by. Hunter, at the front desk, was very accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of. We definitely plan on staying here again when were back in town.
No reason other than dealing with Angela from the front desk at 5:45 am today over the phone. I was trying to figure out some billing issues from a stay in June and she spoke to me like I was a child!
Newer rooms, modern design. Clean. Parking in garage under hotel.
Comfortable clean rooms with a nice waterfall like shower. Room service not available at the moment but the stoke restaurant was amazing
Easy to find the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Of course covid has halted everything but the coffee shop was open until 8pm. The room was very clean and has a modern design. The bed is soft and comfortable. The pillows are soft as well but too soft for me. There was no ice bucket in our room. Has to pay $15 to self park. I was charged for WiFi that I did not use- waiting to hear from accounting regarding this matter.
Positive: Location and friendly staff Negative: Our room was filthy. We were too tired to complain. The floor was not clean and had a lot of dead bugs behind the couch and wrappers. There was hair on the shampoo and the vent had not been wiped down in a long time.
I had 2 rooms with hair in the bathrooms! Night Audits where nice and polite.
Hotel was very nice. Unfortunately it is by a very busy intersection and, at least on Sat night, the noise from loud motorcycles and ridiculous roadracing goes into the morning hours. This kept us awake on the 11th floor with earplugs.
Good hotel but lacks amenities like safes in all rooms, basic free wifi
Nice view and hospitality is also good best thing is that they provide parking for free
Positive: Its a gorgeous hotel. The room was a good size, appeared very clean, and the furnishing seemed newish. The staff was remarkably helpful and friendly. I appreciated the high floor room that I found to be quiet and comfortable Negative: 2 things - The first was a large, unsightly water stain on the bathroom ceiling. The second was more serious. My cell phone charger was plugged in by the bed when I heard a loud pop and my charger exploded due to the falty electric plug - super dangerous.
Positive: Do you want to be where the action is? Stay here! With the Epicenter in walking distance, you really only need go up the sidewalk to see the intersection of live arts, food, vendors and the pulse of the city. Coffee shop adequate. Negative: Room was not cleaned well. Shower door still allowed water on to floor. Fridge not cleaned.
Its a very good place to eat at and the employees are very helpful and friendly
Comfortable rooms, great location, and reasonable prices!
Positive: Location - Negative: Did not tell me until CHECKOUT cost of valet and I had option to park in nearby garage
I loved my stay here. The receptionists were so sweet and welcoming and the room was above my expectations. The hotel is walking distance to many places. I would definitely come again.
Good location. Stayed here for 3 nights Did not use amenities. Friendly staff. Small but clean rooms. Guests and cleaning staff were occasionally spotted without masks in public areas. Parking was 10$ a night for self parking.
Excellent Location, Good Price, Cool Interior, & Great Room!Overall: we couldnt have been happier with our stay @ Charlotte Marriott. We hit up Charlotte for a long weekend to check out the scence, restaurants, and breweries, and this was an excellent choice. The rooms are clean, spacious, and new. The lobby is complete with a bar, dining and lounge area, and is connected to a local coffee shop. Service was friendly, prompt, and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. Check-out was also easy (had a new staff member), but it was good.Room: spacious, updated, and modern. There was a lot of space for a rooom in the middle of the city, especially compared to some others weve stayed in. Beds and pillows were soft. Plenty of seating area with couch and tables for use. TV is large and mounted into the wall. Bathrooms were nice; shower was good and could get up to scalding hot if you like that. Shampoos and soaps smelled great (except the body wash, which was rough). Coffee maker and plenty of space to hang up / put up clothes if you desire. Fridge included as well. Only down spot is that the TV can easily wake you up if your neighbors have it turned up. Was woke up by TV blaring on Sat. morning, but it may be because the TV is mounted in the wall.Location: you wont find a much better location than this. It is located to a ton of great restaurants (Tupelo Honey, connected to Coco & the Director coffee shop, Sea Level, Famous Toastery, and many others). Light rail main hub is only 2 blocks away. Make sure to save your money from Uber and take the rail, as it will take you pretty much anywhere you want to go. Even an awesome Halal food truck that I wish I had tried, right there on the corner.Value: pretty darn good value. Came out to roughly with $150 per night including everything (parking is about $15 a night). Its hard to beat the value you get being right downtown and how nice the rooms and overall hotel was. Parking is a little manic due to space, especially if you have a bigger car.Service: everyone was friendly and helpful. Only stayed 2 nights and didnt use the hotel all that much because we were on the move, but it was a fantastic choice.Overall: Excellent Overall Hotel with Amazing Location!!
FLy af hotels uptown get your bread up if you want a room here
Excellent stay, incredible decor, great customer service. No incidental fees. Also there a coffee shop in the lobby with quality coffee and reasonable prices.
Positive: Very cozy, modern looking hotel room with amazing shower and super hot water and great water pressure. Negative: Paying $15 for overnight parking and I only stayed from 10 pm to 9 AM
Positive: The location. Also, the hotel employee that checked me out was the absolute BEST. He exemplified customer service at its best. Negative: Upon checking in, I was told I would have to go park elsewhere because my jeep was too high for the garage. That is unacceptable seeing that you guys are not offering valet parking.
Positive: The hotel was nice but is under construction in some areas and no services available. No restaurant no coffee shop. Nothing. It is not at present a 4 star hotel.
I felt like I was staying in a budget, express hotel that didnt match up with the nightly cost per room (I was travelling for work so I didnt personally pay the cost). Two experiences at the hotel that are an example of this: room service felt like a Bite Squad delivery service rather than room service like one expects. They told me on the phone that they had moved from a traditional delivery (food on dishes, trays, etc.) to a more environmental approach--which really meant they delivered my food in a paper bag carrying plastic (pretty sure they werent going to get recycled) containers like any other fast food place. The food was just ok--nothing special. The person that delivered the food was friendly enough, but interestingly, I was charged a $5 delivery fee and some other service fee. Because the person who delivered just handed me the bag and left, I felt no desire to tip. It left me wondering if the wages the workers are being paid have declined since moving to this new food service method. The other experience was really minor, but increased my feeling of being in a budget hotel: I left my toothpaste at home and when I asked at the front desk for toothpaste, I was given a tiny single serve packet of toothpaste rather than a travel-sized tube. Cheap. Went and bought a tube later rather than continue to ask for little single-size packs. Not the kind of thing you expect from a nicer hotel. People who worked there were friendly enough and the room seemed clean (though the floors were a little sandy). I ate at the restaurant (Stoke) one night and it was very good with very good service. The conference food was just OK--nothing too special but satisfactory.
Wonderful stay! We notified the staff before we arrived that it was our anniversary. They proceeded to upgrade us to a corner suite, provide complimentary access to the M club lounge, complimentary champagne for the room, chocolate covered strawberries, and a beautiful bouquet of flowers that my wife loved. We had a great experience there. The hotel was beautiful and as clean as any I?ve stayed in. We have stayed in several of the hotels in the downtown Charlotte area, and this was by far our best experience. We will definitely be back!!!!
Overall, this is a solid hotel. We were in town for a wedding. On the plus side, the staff was well informed and attentive. The location is good for restaurants and the Discovery Place. Valet parking was prompt and courteous. The room floors are not carpeted, which is a real plus. I tip the housekeeping staff. As such, the room was kept neat, clean and well stocked with supplies. On the down side, we paid over $40 for three drinks at the bar. Ouch! In addition, I am a Bonvoy member. Despite the fact that the WiFi is free, it kept dropping my connection and I had to log in repeatedly, even within the same day.In summary, a very nice hotel, with a great staff and a good location, but a little pricey in the restaurant and bar.

Positive: Location and cleanliness! Unfortunately with covid the lounge and restaurant was not open. Nice fitness center! Negative: No negatives
