Its a nice facility, people are friendly but their membership fees are not customer friendly? When I signed last years membership fee it was reasonable? This year to renew is an extra 100 dollars? These are covid times and people dont have that kind of money? They should be customer considerate and not look to fleece people under these particular times? So go check it out for yourself?

DO NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACTS WITH BRIAN RAY!!! This gym was nice and I loved the classes, it’s a shame they have someone like Brian working for them. Brian Ray is not professional, he lies constantly and cannot be trusted. He also commits fraud. He wrote a fraudulent contract and I got charged for services I did not receive. I got my money back but only because I went to the third party contract company (he did absolutely nothing to rectify his fraudulent contract and instead lied). As long as he works there do not bother joining. And for those that have contracts through him please watch your bank accounts, we are not the only ones he has done this to.

Been here since 2015 no plans on changing. Big fitness facility doesn’t get overcrowded. Great equipment, always clean, good maitenance of equipment.Justin is the man.

Club Fitness is an amazing gym! It is a huge facility with TONS of equipment. If they dont have it, you dont need it. Actually, if they dont have it, it probably doesnt exist. Friendly staff and very clean.

I was a member for 5 years. Covid hit the gym closed but they kept billing my card. In the first few days in February i went to the desk and cancelled my membership. I wasnt bound by a contract. Then the next month they billed my card again. I called and was told i had to give 30 days notice. I was never told of this stipulation. Then they tried to get me with the yearly maintenance fee. Needless to say I was not giving in to this scam. They sent it to collections. Im seeking BBB help. Do not sign anything with this gym.

Brian the manager was very unprofessional and rude to me. He renewed a personal training contract that I did not approve or authorize & when I tried to speak to him about it, he blew me off. Instead of handling it like a professional, he decided to cancel my membership. I really liked that gym but not the business aspect of it!

Many people have been ripped off from this gym and they are clearly trying to hide it by flooding their page with fake reviews to hide the HONEST BAD ONES. Now how many of you have seen the movie SAW with the scene of the captured people in this filthy disgusting bath/shower/kitchen like area, that looked like it could be part of a sewer?Well, that scene and Club Fitness are one in the same. And Ill show you my pictures to prove it.Now for the comparison between CF and Planet Fitness, PF gets a 10+++ CF, a 1. And Ill explain why.Just think about the fact that both are 24/7. One is clean and the other one isnt.Club Fitness and their hoards of so-called members are all over the internet giving them 5 stars? How so? Theyre more than likely made up reviews to get you in the door.And trust me thats as far as you should go... the door!I cant imagine any sane person being satisfied with a dirty fitness environment.And willingly gives their money away like its nothing.They have a big sign outside that says join now. I highly would avoid giving these people your money.Now I will be there first to say it is a gym. That is what gets it a 1. So the smell of funk and dirty butt is always present. Thats what cleaning is supposed to be for.Being from NYC, Brooklyn to be exact. I was a long term member of Synergy fitness, which is also a 247 operation.I say all of that to say, Ive never seen anything like what I saw at CF in my life. The place is a quick infection and disease waiting for you.There is a reason that Planet fitness and Synergy pay people to thoroughly clean the gym... being that they are 247 operations.Club Fitness stops being staffed at 10pm. But the place is open all night long.And as you see in the pictures, this place looks like it hasnt been cleaned in about 30 years.They have a nice big Vizio TV on the wall which is what they call the information area... The TV is caked with dirt and dust.The water fountains are dingy and they have a dirty water cooler attached to the fountain. i used the fountains. I think my throat hurts now...To be quite honest, I feel pretty dirty & violated and I might want to visit my doctor to see if I caught anything from being in there... Might need a shot or some pills to kill off any infection I might have contracted from this place.I didnt even want to sit on that pleather stool in the locker room for fear of having bed bugs or roaches jump onto my clothes or in my bag.As soon as I got home I sprayed myself and clothes down with Lysol and showered. Just thinking about this place is giving me the heebee-geebees. Ugh...itching....On the internet there are troves of women that give rave reviews and says its one of the best gyms ever.They must not be very clean people.They even have classes for only women up in there and you would think women are clean... *raised eyebrows*In comparison to planet fitness, because different locations have different equipment. PF, like CF has a free weight area, and lots of hammer strength machines.I see dudes online whining about the free weight section comparison. There is none. They both offer the same type of free weight area.So he can lift, but cant run because hes too out of shape to keep up.CF has the older rusted out equipment - the same silver hammer strength equipment that I used to work out on in Synergy fitness back in 2006.Planet fitness has customized purple up to date newer equipment in their gyms. And the staff at PFactually clean the equipment.I cant believe I actually wore good clothes to come here. If I had known the place was this filthy, I would have put on some old dumpster type of rags.After visiting this place, a swim in a pool of bleach sounds very enticing.Planet Fitness doesnt need to worry about me discarding my $20/mo. membership for this place.I just cant believe people actually pay Club Fitness for the benefit of a filthy environment. No way bruh!

I have nothing bad to say about this gym. This, in my experience, is the best fitness facility in Charlotte. Spacious, clean. Even on a Monday evening after work, I never had to wait long to use equipment like squat racks. Patrons are extremely supportive of one another. The staff is extremely pleasant and professional.

Don’t join this gym. I joined because they have indoor basketball, turns out it’s only available 3 days a week for 2 hours each day (limited, but fine). I show up DURING the specified hours for basketball and they wouldn’t let me in the gym. I even called 30 mins before to confirm I could use the gym and they said yes (MWF 12-2). I drive all the way to the gym on my lunch break, they won’t let me in. Speak with the GM who tells me ‘he needs to confirm’ even though I JUST CALLED. He leaves me waiting for 20 minutes, calls someone and finally comes out and basically said tough sh*t and does NOTHING, not even an apology. Staff is not knowledgeable of hours/policies.

The gym itself is not bad. The way they do their payments is terrible. I dont write many reviews but my experience canceling this membership was awful. I also had a friend that went through the same experience. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS JUST BECAUSE OF THAT. I cancelled in September. They charged me for 2 months and i basically didnt get it sorted out until now and it is December.......Feel free to ask me about my experience but i have never been so frustrated with a gym in my enter life. Again, AVOID THIS GYM UNLESS YOU WANT THEM TO KEEP CHARGING YOU AND TAKING MONTHS TO FIX THINGS.

Gym has been updated, decent equipment however some machines, particularly cardio equipment could use repair or updated. There are sanitization stations conveniently located throughout.

They try to lock you into a contract unlawfully when you presented that you moved they then try to tell you that you havent moved far enough. They continually charge your credit card when they dont offer the sauna Services anymore.. dont use these these dishonest conaritist.

This place is legit amazing. Karla was awesome. incredibly helpful and kind, answering every question and going above and beyond to accommodate any request. All the other staff members were dope too. The classes they offer here are great I loved the Yoga. Their dance rooms are perfect nice vibe and clean. Couldnt ask for a better gym or better staff!

Ive been in and out of this gym for years i really like it, the girl at the desk thoughhhh... everytime i go she seems to have an attitude and makes it so hard for me she is very unhelpful & rude .

Took cash for a 3 month no contact membership then lied and said I wasnt in the system and never paid. Friend had a normal 6 month contract, moved to FL and provided information that he lived there but they wouldnt cancel his contact and forced him to pay the 2 months left on it. What a joke. Go somewhere local next time.

Decent gym. Good price. I wonder where this annual maintenance fee is going because I can’t find a treadmill that doesn’t have rust on it. There are a lot of broken lockers, worn out grips and padding on the equipment. Honestly if there was another gym in the area that wasn’t Planet Fitness I’d consider leaving. Staff is nice enough but apparently ownership doesn’t invest much in the equipment. They also lie on their site about the basketball courts. That was a draw for me only to find out that they leased out that area and now despite there being basketball goals in the room no one can play. Additionally I constantly find there to be no paper towels in the locker room. Not a terrible gym but there is much room for improvement.

The gym is spacious and well spread out with all the machines and free weights you need.

GM lied to my fiance twice and when caught in a lie continued to interrupt and get defensive. Tried to come back the next day and discuss if which he still had an attitude and i was not going to take being disrespected and told him how big of a jerk he was. This ended up getting my membership cancelled due to the fact that he didnt like being called out over a lie he kept going for 3 months.

I love this place the manager is doing great job.

Dan and Josh at the service desk assisted me with excellent customer service, there was a friendly staff every time that I had walked in and in addition have all the equipment you could need at your local gym. I never felt as though I had to wait in line or couldn’t be doing something else while waiting for a machine or bench. Overall very satisfied with my experience at club fitness.

Ive been going for 7 years. Members are nice, but many of the guys are on roids, too many people filming themselves as well. The gym is filled with old equipment and carpet. Its the closest one to us so we use it, but when the YMCA comes in Im definitely gone. Its just easily accessible, and cheap. I would have no problem paying 2x more for better equipment and cleaner updated facilities like Lifetime or Xsport in Chicago.

Friendly people, nurturing environment, people want you to succeed here. The personalities here are pleasant and more approachable. People also don’t hog equipment here. Everyone’s trying to seriously get it done. Best energy vibes I’ve ever felt in a gym. I seriously can’t imagine going to anywhere else.

If you want a posh “gym” that looks more like an hgtv add not a place to put in some work, not for you. If you want an awesome workout, and a ton of great equipment, friendly staff, with a big variety of people and gear, sign up. You won’t regret it.

I had the most crazy experience with my payment. They charged me a late fee, that I gladly paid, even though long time ago I asked them to save my account number not card number, and they also charged my girlfriend the same amount, she doesn’t have a gym membership with them since 2016!! We send emails, calls, pictures with the transactions and they refused to return the money.Don’t trust this people, record every conversation, take pictures of everything they say because they will lied to you!!!They will tell you something in the gym and something completely different over the phone, and completely different from the Peak company that charge the money.They are rude, unprofessional people!!!

I got injured and trying to freeze my membership every time i try to call i get different response. they are very unprofessional with me and thats vary shameful for them.

Nice gym; the price is good; friendly management; but not the level of a Gold’s or LA Fitness. However, it’s the next best thing in the area. Check it out! Hopefully they will implement some needed fixes and upgrades. This gym has a lot of potential if mgt keeps up the good work.

First impression, place looks clean, lots of equipment - good start.I approach the front desk person, who is talking to someone on his cell phone, he sees me and tells the person on the line to hold on - cool no issue with that. I ask to start a trial and explain that my gym was closed due to the hurricane. To my surprise, I get told that there is no trial and that it is actually $10/day to workout at this place. Odd.. its pretty standard for commercial gyms to offer at least 5 day trials. My favorite place to get a good workout and break a good sweat! Been a member for almost 10 years now & the value has only risen. There are constantly new things in the works as far as things that can add value to each members visit to be considered about including in everyone’s membership. Like access to a top notch smoothie bar, 24/7 access to the gym and one of my favorite things that club fitness has always done is keep the padding on the workout machines & equipment cleaned & replaced or repaired if there’s too much wear & tear in anything. That’s something small & probably goes unnoticed to most but it’s small things like that that make club fitness a great place to workout at. And all the members are super nice, you can go to any spot in the gym to do any workout and you will feel comfortable & relaxed b/c of how nice everyone always is. And if you’re a heavy lifter too who likes that ‘dungeon’ feel or that grittier feel when your moving weight, it’s still a great gym to lift heavy & move a lot of weight as well. Plenty of bumper plates & just all around a great place to go workout, have a smoothie or just have sweat session in the sauna. It’s got it all! Two enthusiastic 👍🏻👍🏻

Charge you and dont let you cancel. They havent been open for 2-3 months but keep charging for service they cant legally provide. They dont answer any calls or emails. No information on website about this coronavirus situaition or cancelling. Now there collections company call and email me daily but i still am unable to reach anyone who actually works for club fitness. Honestly about to call the Attorney General on this place.

The worse ever

I decided to update my previous review as a year has now past bye. My previous post spoke about a smoothie bar previously at the gym but has now been removed, most probably because of covid. That’s certainly a disappointment but the gym added new weights and upgraded in certain area most notable the free weight area. Machines have been moved around to better maximize the size of the gym. The previous trainers are mostly gone as well as the front door staff but they have been replaced with very friendly faces. All in all I love the gym and would “still” recommend it in an NY minute. 😉

Horrible customer service. I signed a 2 year agreement with Club in 2011. After the two year contract my membership was said to be “free” for as long as Club remained opened. I was unaware that being “free” also included a yearly maintenance fee of $99. I will take the blame on this and state I should have read the fine print.Fast forward to March 2018 and I received notification that Peak payments was unable to collect payment due from me receiving a new credit card. I would also like to mention that this is the first I’ve even heard from Club Fitness in years. When I called to figure out what this charge was all about, I was told I owe them money for a yearly maintenance fee. Even after I explained my initial agreement and that I haven’t even stepped foot into Club Fitness in years, I was told if I didn’t pay the balance I would be sent to collections. What?! So a member since 2011 that fulfilled a 2 year contract, has paid the $99 yearly fee since 2013 even though they haven’t been in, and not to mention paid for countless personal training sessions is treated this way. I’m shocked that this how they conduct business. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Older equipment but a good monthly price.Recently they leased out the training area and basketball courts even though they are barely used so now members can never use as its closed to its already paying members. Doesnt make sense and loss of a perk of this gym

I have been a member here for a couple years and the quality of the gym has only gotten better and better. The front desk staff are friendly and the Manager Tanner is the coolest guy ever. I would choose this gym over LA fitness anyday.

Great gym with equipment for all tiers, from beginners to advanced. I have been a member of over a dozen gyms in Charlotte and this is my favorite one so far. No one bats an eye if you make a little noise. Only complaint is that it would help if they had more 45 lb plates. Not to say there is a big shortage its just at peak times during the week it can be somewhat of an inconvenience.

Love this gym, free weights! dont have someone getting on to you if you throw weights on the floor! So far I’m very pleased with the gym itself. Great variety of classes with knowledgeable instructors. Love the quantity of cardio machines and the locker rooms are always very clean.My 3 year goes to the childcare and I’m still not feeling 100% comfortable with it. The two middle age women who are normally in there don’t pay attention to the kids. They’ve been on their phones, doing crosswords anything so they don’t have to actually interact with the kids (other than telling them off for doing something they aren’t supposed to be doing).My 3 year old is extremely active and wants to go to the older kids room to run around and jump on the bouncy castles but can’t because he’s not 4. So he’s stuck in this room centered for babies/young toddlers where he can’t be active and just gets put in front of a TV.They could improve a lot in the childcare part of the gym.

This place is too good for the price. The classes offered are amazing so are the coaches. Only downside is the contract.

When I signed up for this terrible gym I was informed “if I moved 25 miles or more they would cancel my membership, no questions asked with provided proof of relocation” I sent in a statement from my bank on 09/28/2017 with my new address which is in New Jersey ( I would say that’s more than 25 miles) requesting my membership to be closed. They sent a message back stating it would take 5 days to get a response. I then got a message stating my request was closed so I assumed that it was closed. I then get an email 10 days later stating the proof I sent FROM MY BANK was not an accepted proof of relocation although that is what I was informed would cancel the membership . So I then sent another statement from my bank again showing I relocated. I received a message stating my account would be cancelled as of 11/01 but fees for October need to be paid, which is $119 and counting. uhhhhhhhhhh no I requested this back in September it should have been cancelled then. They’ll receive that $119 when Charlotte turns into Alaska 🌌 .... PS. the one star was just to allow me to post this review. You all suck and deserve no stars 🤢🤢

Originally, I believed this would be a great gym. Its large with a lot of equipment and they used to stress a family friendly atmosphere. However, with continued and overwhelming growth, they do not maintain equipment (they dont even have a ball pump), the staff is rude and lacks simple customer service skills and it is far from family friendly. I no longer will take my son due to language and conversation issues between members. This could have been a premier gym if attention to detail and customer service were valued. Now it is just the biggest gym.

There is an integrity issue at this gym. Hunter told me one thing over the phone and in person all he could say was, “Um like I don’t remember.” Somehow the membership I was inquiring about got deleted. If you join this gym, get information through text and screenshot posts because you might get told “um like I don’t remember.”

I am so unhappy with this club, they just trap you in contract . Initially they singed me up for 1 yr but by mistake they signed me up for another location in Lincolnton, NC., After requesting for correction, they signed another membership and without telling me for 2 yrs . Now when I moved from my place which is 14 miles away. they have policy they cant cancel my membership as it has to be minumum 20 miles. Be careful while you are signing their contract. You are a fool if you give this place any credit card info. You can easily talk the weak sales people down to paying a month at a time cash for like $20. This gym is the worst gym I have ever stepped foot in & worked at. I just stepped down as a personal trainer from this gym because they brought in a random company to run the training department. I did not like the way these new guys handled business or how they walked in expecting the red carpet treatment & threatening to fire people in their 1st week. I kindly let all of my clients know I would be stepping down & to speak to the new management about being assigned a new trainer & the owner flipped out, calling me unprofessional, & banned me from the gym even tho I paid to have a membership so I could atleast work-out. The operations manager was present when I went in after I stepped down to pay for a membership then after barely getting my workout started the new man pulled me off the floor & forced the Operations manager to cancel the membership I just paid for. He threatened to call the police on me because I quit being a trainer & half of my clients dont want to work with his trainers. I did nothing wrong but was harassed & bullied by a giant man with a sexist attitude. We have contacted an attorney & will be taking legal action. I quit my job & paid for a membership, I didnt steal anything or cause harm to anyone. Getting banned from the gym because of some pathetic man having an ego trip is ridiculous. I wouldnt suggest anyone to go to the this gym. The management is corrupt & people are always complaining of being overcharged but arent getting any compensation from the theft happening to their accounts.

This gym is horrible. Besides some of the equipment being broken, and free weights missing and having one set of each dumbbells, the gym etiquette from their trainers is by far the worst I’ve seen. I’ve been here a few times out of convenience and although the front desk staff is pretty decent, that’s not enough. I wasn’t even going to write a review until I sent a detailed email to the manager about my negative experience and didn’t even get a reply or a phone call, even asking the front desk to have the manager call me, nothing. So not only does this gym suck, they don’t seem to care about members or potential members concerns.

The new management team are awesome, I appreciate James and his professional style of leadership. We are glad to come back under his new leadership!

Gym is sufficient but they have recently shut the WiFi down. It is 2019 and this is the only gym in the area that has no customer WiFi. I have approached the team about it and they stated it’s a bandwidth issue. Reality is it doesn’t work.

Kind staff, clean machines, huge selection. The staff was willing to meet my needs and then some. Best gym by far for customer service alone. The manager is great. If you are considering going here, you are making the right decision!

Same cardio equipment that has been in the place since it opened. Most all the treadmills sound like they are about to break, rust on them, had tvs on a lot of them and most are gone and if still on dont work well, if at all.All the treadmills need to be replaced but dont see that happening anytime soon with the way everything else seems to work there. Only go b/c its close to work.

It was a good gym but if you move and its under the 30 mile range and you cant commute there anymore be ready to dish out some serious cash and they pretty much tell you to pound sand, so screw this gym save your time and money dont go here

I live a 5 minute walk away so you would assume this would be my favorite gym? Well not after they decided to get debt collectors after me over 30 bucks.... a gym is not worth a single hit on your credit. Equipment is under par and price per month is high compared to other gyms. Dont be a locked into a year contract like me, Find somewhere else!!!
