We come from Rock Hill SC up here because we are very pleased with the care they give to our baby. They do not rush us they take their time and we asked as many questions as we want. If that person can’t answer they get someone who can. We started coming here 7 years ago when we moved here because we needed a dermatologist for our baby Chelsea and after we lost her to cancer and a year later got our baby Harley we decided to return here even with the drive here no need for a dermatologist we still chose to come back to this veterinarians office because of their devotion to their patients. I highly recommend this office.Debbie
My cat had a blocked urethra which is lethal if not treated quickly. After the first vet I tried was unable to fix him (he got blocked again immediately after returning home), I brought him here as a last ditch chance to save his life. They were able to treat him successfully and it’s been 2 years and we haven’t had any urinary issues. I am forever grateful for the services they provided to save my cat’s life!
Went to take my newly adopted friend for her first check up and I was forced to wear a mask even though it is not a law. The front desk was so concerned with me wearing a mask that they were other people and other animals unattended. Not sure if they have everyone’s best interest at heart
The vets are extremely nice and takes care of my pet well. I would say the only problem is the staff that works at the front desk because they carelessly lost the stool sample i sent in person for lab testing and had to be resent again after days of waiting for results back with no calls. Don’t know how they managed to lost it when it’s already labeled and specifically sent in for lab.
I called with concerns over my pet and they immediately eased my concerns I have never been to such a well put together vet in my life until now. They took very good care of my baby Sandi and I felt completely informed and in good hands. Thanks so much this place is awesome. Cuteness overload everywhere you look clean offices friendly staff I’d give this place 10 stars if I could
Brought my kitten in to see the vet. Such a sweet group, they loved on my sweet boy and gave him treats. I would say it was a perfect first visit for sweet Flynn.
Great experience with Dr. Jessica Lipsett today! My cat needed updated shots and a yearly exam. The doctor and tech were so nice and made sure my cat was comfortable the entire time. They also made sure I understood what was going on and gave me options. The ladies at the front desk were super nice also. Thanks again!!
We love the team at Animal Medical Hospital. They are all so nice and of course great with our dog. We’ve used all of their services; grooming, boarding, daycare, veterinarian services and their website portal for auto-shipping meds. We switched to them as our regular vet after our dog needed emergency care. Not the cheapest place, as Charlotte has great resources like Stand for Animals, but also not the most expensive! Recommend for anyone in the Charlotte area.
Dr. Richter and her assistant were wonderful in taking care of my cat Alex during his annual wellness visit. They were patient and very attentive and took the time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Richter and the staff at Animal Medical Hospital & 24 Hour Urgent Care.
The animal medical hospital was referred to me by a friend and she was spot on! I had my first puppy visit with Dr. Richter, she and the staff were wonderful! So helpful, caring and knowledgeable giving me suggestions and handling my pup with such care!! Very much appreciated, thank you!
My dog has been having reoccurring ear infections. I have had poor responsiveness and inadequate help from the vet I was previously going to so I came here in the hopes of finding better care for my pup. Dr. Echols was so wonderfully pleasant and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I appreciate his excellent bedside manner and his attentiveness. That’s really all you can ask for when it comes to ensuring your dog gets the best care. Also - the vet tech was also super friendly and nice but I didn’t catch her name. Thank you so much!
My dog Gabe was extremely ill. We saw the vet at this hospital and she accurately diagnosed his problem and we were able to get him treated at an acute care hospital saving his life. They did a great job. Very knowledgeable.
Sitting here with my cat with a hole in her throat for no known reason to me. This woman is extremely rude and getting short with families. People are actually trying to make appointments because they are tired of waiting. I really think that more doctors need to be available. They list 12 veterinarians. Ive seen 2, heard of 1. You call and they tell you all these fabulous upgrades theyve made to the facility. That doesnt matter if there is no one to care for your animal. They said 20 minutes when I called. Now Ive been here almost 2 hours and all thats been done is a picture of the hole in her throat.
Ive been a customer for the life of my first Schnauzer, 2002-2018, the first 3 years of my Boykin and 8 months of my newest Schnauzer. The service at this facility has gone constantly down and EVERY time Ive tried to call in the last year Ive gotten Is this a medical emergency or can we place you on a brief hold, where Ive sat for 5-10 minutes waiting on someone to pick up and they never do. I appreciate someone being busy every once in a while and having to place me on hold, but this has been the last 7 times Ive called and my time is more valuable than that. This is just my experience with them lately, and mine alone. It doesnt require comment or your thoughts on the matter. Just relaying whats happened to me at this facility. Will be leaving for a vet closer to me that answers and talks to me when I call.
I have to say the veterinarians at this place really do try their hardest. It’s getting past the front desk service and dealing with the techs that makes this business so unbearable. They treat you like you are beneath them. Feels like chaos every time I’ve been in there. They straight up do not care about you or your pet. I do not feel safe bringing animals to this location simply because the lack of professionalism when you walk in the door already creates an negative environment for animals. Too bad for them.
My cat has chronic upper respiratory issues, which are very difficult to manage. She had a flare-up this week and AMH was kind enough to get us in on one days notice due to a cancellation. I have been taking my cat there for years and everyone (from the front desk to the vet techs to the doctors) is always friendly and helpful and the doctors really listen to my experiences, treatments I have tried, etc. - and work with me to come up with options that might help. I wouldnt go anywhere else.
They took a dog in front of our very sick dog, and the other dog wasnt sick. The girl behind the counter took her friends dog back over our very sick dog. Then we tried to get records moved and we got attitude. Had too call twice to get record sent over. Your girl named Kelly was who we dealt with. She should be fired. Never going back worst place ever.
We love bringing our pets here. Doctors and staff are great. They genuinely care about our animals and also take our budget into consideration.
I took my dog to Animal Medical Hospital after he was attacked by another dog while out on a run. The staff were friendly and responsive and did their very best to keep me informed about what they were doing to treat him while I waited. I so appreciate their professionalism and kindness. I was also pleasantly surprised that the final bill seemed incredibly reasonable for emergency after-hours medical care.
They will do everything they can to get money out of you. They literally cost twice as much as anywhere else, and there are plenty of great vets in the area. They will find any way to get you to come in as often as possible, and charge over the top prices for all procedures and medications, not to mention prescribe unnecessary medications just to rack up the bill. I will be finding a new vet starting today.Edit: I have been coming here for years, spending thousands of dollars for whatever they said was needed, even when it sounded over the top. My cat has feline herpes virus, which they didn’t tell me until several times of returning for the same issue. All he needs is an eye ointment but they’ve prescribed several other useless medications throughout this whole thing (like $50 probiotic powder that gave him diarrhea) just to rack up the bill. These visits cost me $200 a pop, when they (knowing full well his condition) could easily just prescribe him the ointment at this point. We have absolutely no reason to assume he has an ulcer, and on top of that it is stressful for him to return and have this procedure every couple months when you know what is wrong. So thanks for the retort AMH but I’m moving on.
The people on the phone, at the desk and the assistant and Dr. Polen were all excellent. I felt our needs were respected and heard and Cocoa was well cared for. Thank you, Teri Fahey
If it was possible to give no stars i would:We have an elderly dog who is scared of fireworks, so she was pacing and shaking. We originally thought it was from the fireworks. Today, she was stumbling, losing balance, her eyes were moving back and fourth quickly and her head was tilted. My mom called, told the lady at the front desk what was going on and that we thought she had a stroke. The woman goes “okay bring her in we will wait for her”So if someone says that, clearly the dog was put on the schedule and they knew she was coming, correct? Yeah no not in this case.I get here and call. The women at the front says “is this a medical emergency or may I place you on a brief hold?” I said “it is, my mom just called that our dog had a seizure” the woman goes “okay what’s your dogs name?” I gave it to her and the woman put me on hold. She comes back to the phone and what this woman told me is something I couldn’t believe. She goes “I’m sorry, I was just told we aren’t taking any walk ins” I have never been so mad in my entire life. How are you gonna tell at pet parent who’s pet POSSIBLY HAD A STROKE they can’t be seen, especially after telling them to come in. A stroke for a dog is serious and they clearly didn’t see it as an emergency. It took me saying something to the worker, just to get my dog seen. Then one of the ER vets came out and acted like they just didn’t try to deny my dog service.Which shows they didn’t put my dog on the schedule & she got pushed to the back of their mind. If it wasn’t serious I would have taken her somewhere else but after this I will never take any of my pets here again.
This is the best hospital around very professional and have great groomers and Veterinary doctors.Give it a try. I love this place.
Had a great time here at our first visit. I adopted my kitten about a month ago and the shelter gave me a coupon to use for a free general appointment and $100 gift card on top of that. I used it all yesterday to get my kitten all treated up with vaccines and deworming. Suz was very sweet, kind, and helpful. She had great energy and I could tell she really cared about my pet. I saw Dr. Zulty and she was very kind and caring as well. I asked her several questions about what would be best for my kitten and she was knowledgable and had good recommendations. I have made another appointment with them and will be back soon!
Went here recently for an emergency. The staff were friendly and took care of my sick cat. My cat is doing better now thanks to these people.
The staff is very caring about their patients! I have never had a veterinarians office be so involved. And to boot, they always look for ways to save money for me on medicines, etc. I will be a lifetime customer!
THEY TAKE THE TIME FOR INDIVIDUAL NEEDS FOR EACH BABY....I WOULDNT RECOMMEND ANY OTHER FACIKITY ILUNLESS IT XAME FROM THEM. THANK YOURE GREAT FACILITY WITH FREAT TEAMS TGAT ARE NEVERVTOO BUSY...
The events that led to our visit here were very emotional, sad and unfortunate, but I am so grateful for this establishment and the people who work here. We live about 45+ minutes away where there are no emergency hospitals for animals. My furbaby who just turned 15 years old a couple days prior to our visit, had been declining in health for a couple of months. On this night, his respiratory rate was way too high. I called on our way to make sure it was okay that we come and the young lady I spoke with, Tara, was so incredibly kind. I was having trouble speaking because I was crying and she was very patient throughout the entire conversation with me.When we arrived, I called and let them know what spot we were at (Covid restrictions and curb service were in place at this time). A very nice young lady came out and got my baby and took him. They called to get some further information about his history and then after he was assessed by Dr. Echols, he called and spoke to me over the phone about his findings. He was very informative. He had a very empathetic and kind tone to his voice. I asked his honest medical opinion and he gave us that. I was faced with the decision no furmom wants to have to make. However, I never want my babies to suffer.Dr. Echols made the process as smooth as such a process could possibly be. He was very sympathetic and wasn’t in a rush to get it done and get us out. Tara came back with my baby and walked us out and now we begin the grieving and healing process. We sincerely thank the staff for all the kindness they showed to us and also to my sweet baby boy. Your amazing work doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated. 💜💙
Such a great experience. Dr.Lipsett was so thorough and kind with our girl. She really took her time to explain everything with her physical and vaccines. After a couple of failed attempts at our old vet, we finally decided to switch over to animal medical and they have been nothing but amazing!
I had a dog that had a bad laceration on his back leg. I called to check on their wait times. They told me to come right over. I drove 30 minutes to get him there. We arrived and they told me it would be a 4 hour wait. So I had a dog that is bleeding all over my truck and I’m supposed to wait 4 hours to be seen when I was told to come that way. I wasted my time. I ended up at Long Animal Hospital, they were able to get me right in and take care of my dog. I wouldn’t waste your time with this animal hospital. Their business practices are awful.
Left my sister in a room alone for hours with no communication just to come back and say they had no idea why our poor cat was passing urine crystals and charged us a $375 bill. Absolutely awful its not worth it unless all other places are closed and your pet has an open wound or something.
First time needing an emergency vet. The emergency team was fast and thorough. Their price is well under their quality of work and knowledge....very affordable! I would definitely go back to this vet.
We just moved to Charlotte right after the holidays and hadnt gotten around to finding a vet yet. My eldest cat, who is about 8 years old and missing several teeth, started to get sick and was not eating/drinking. She tends to chew on tape/plastic so we assumed she might have eaten some. We called our old vet and they suggested we wait another day before taking her in since it may be something she can pass. When she didnt get better, we searched for a vet close to us and came across Animal Medical. I called while on the way and they were able to get my information in and were ready for her when we arrived. They were very transparent about the estimated time and cost. They decided to keep her overnight but kept me informed on any changes - they even sent me a few pictures of her! The friendliness and compassion of everyone involved was amazing - I had no doubts that she was in good hands! I will be using this vet for all of my fur-babies!
I’d give this hospital no stars if I could, I brought my dog in they had us wait in our car for almost two hours just to take us in, I think we were the only people their in the parking lot as well. they really need to take the “urgent care” out of they’re title, they were to focused on getting paid before they could do anything to help our dog, 1am and expect thousands of dollars on spot. terrible service, we were told that someone wouldn’t be able to attend our dog for another two days really a waist of time, our dog died later that night highly not recommended hospital for your pets.Rest In Peace Adolfo
Dr Lipsett cares for our 2 cats. She is very kind, caring and professional. We are very happy with the care we receive at Animal Medical Hospital!
Our dog Max took a fall from about five feet and was clearly in a lot of pain. We brought him to Animal Medical Hospital to be seen. The staff were all amazing and the vet who saw our dog, Dr. Oberst, was kind and compassionate. Max ended up having a fully fractured femur and Dr. Oberst helped us get set up quickly with an orthopedic surgeon so that we can get Max onto the road to recovery. They are amazing. Know that it may take many hours (4+), but this staff is doing everything they can to treat critical and non-critical animals in the middle of a pandemic, so give them a little grace and maybe take a few snacks in the car with you.
Our dog started to have gastrointestinal problems so we initially called the vet we have been taking our dog to for over four years at 10am when the problems started, and they would not be able to see us until 5pm later that day. With this being an emergency situation, we could not wait, so we gave this vet a call to see if they could help us. Not only were they able to see us immediately, but they were super professional and attentive. They followed every Covid safety protocol while making sure our pup was taken care of. Dr. Lopez and the nursing staff examined our dog and gave us a diagnosis and treatment plan all in a matter of 30 minutes. I also was expecting an outrageous price, but was delightfully surprised at the reasonable cost of care that included special needs boarding and medication that our dog needed.Safe to say we will be switching from our current vet to Dr. Lopez and team!
Dr. Thomas is absolutely amazing! She will love and care for your pets the same way you do, and shes realistic about discussing their health goals with you. She was my Goldens vet until the end of his life and we always felt confident and comfortable seeing her. Now shes my go to for my 4 cats, even my shyest cat feels comfortable with her. She is so kind and so knowledgeable, its clear she loves animals and what she does.
My cat Binx has been dealing with UTIs for a few weeks now that progressed to a bladder obstruction. Animal Medical Hospital did everything they could to make sure we were informed, and Binx got the care he needed. After following the vets recommendations, Binx came home after surgery happy and ready to cause trouble. I’m so happy to see him happy and healthy.
I really wanted to like this facility. I recently moved to town and adopted a cat. I needed to have him checked out so I did some research on vet clinics and read all the great reviews about Animal Medical Hospital so that’s where I decided to go. A day after the adoption my cat was very ill looking so I brought him in sooner than the appointment I scheduled. Upon arriving I called the number for curbside and explained to the person my cat’s situation then gave them my spot number. About 10 minutes later I got a call back from another person asking what is going on with my cat and they again asked for the spot number. After my cat was finally brought in to the clinic, guess what?! I received yet ANOTHER phone call from the doctor this time asking what is going on with my cat. My cat ended up being diagnosed with a URI on the verge on pneumonia so he was hospitalized. I received an update call about 5 hours after he was left there saying he was stable and was given an appetite stimulant. Okay great but when they called back the next morning the person I spoke to said he wasn’t eating and they were going to give him an appetite stimulant. I informed that they told me he was given given one last night. To which they replied, “Oh really, ahh I see right here now I’m sorry.” Needless to say I was very frustrated at this because it is as if they did not read the treatment log/chart. There is more to this story but I will end with this...I came here multiple times and I’ve had the SAME experience each time. The people working here CAN NOT effectively disperse information when ingested. It is like they don’t read a patients chart before calling you and they make you explain everything all over again. The doctors and people seem nice but the whole experience just completely SUCKS and I will not bring my cat back here unless it is an emergency. The amount we pay for pet care is a lot and it would be nice if they could operate in a more professional competent manner.
Great experience and completely comforted knowing our dog was in good hands. Great communication from the first point of contact with Christina to Amanda and then Dr. Lopez. Many thanks for the great care
AMH quickly became a new favorite spot in the Charlotte area. After a costly, ineffective, and downright horrible experience at a competitor less than a week earlier, we found ourselves having to re-address the same emergency issue with our scared rescue pup. The customer service was immediately a huge improvement. Our pup was found feral and is very afraid, the vet tech sat outside the car for 5 minutes just getting our dog comfortable with her. Once seen by the vet, we were presented with various options and solutions and each were explained very thoroughly. The injuries were addressed and our pup is on the right side of healing now.Deducting one star because they did lose my spot in line resulting in above average wait time to even be checked in. Pandemic processes arent perfect, so just a minor inconvenience.
My health 4 year old German Shepherd broke his elbow and within 18 hours of his examination at this hospital, he was dead from an unexplainable condition. The hospital was negligent and accepted no responsibility. They wouldn’t even refund the $300 they charged me for the prescription of which he only got one dose. If you love your animals I would stay away from this hospital.
Website states they see guinnea pigs, rabbits... even pictures of them. Also states walk-ins received to the urgent care. We drove our injured guinnea pig to the urgent care today only to be turned away. They wont see them.
Called on 3/30/21 evening to bring in my Saphire due to congested bleeding from nostril. The girl who answered was very compassionate and kind. Got to the facility called and told them what spot I was in due to Covid Precautions and the attendant came immediately for Saphire to bring her in. I was told I will get a call to go over history, and todays visit and the call went so smooth. Got calls from Dr and the phone calls was very informative, smooth and with such compassion and care for myself and cat. I had taken my other kitty Maya there a few years ago and the Service was outstanding as well. The drive and Distance from Harrisburg NC to the facility is well worth it for me and my Cats. The Service and Care is what matters over the Distance of miles.
To keep a very, very long story as short as possible - we brought our furbaby here after the CARE ER misdiagnosed her. We were originally sent for emergency treatment by our general practice veterinarian because our pup was in distress and needed immediate care. The CARE clinic would not look at any of the information our normal vet had prepared and would not perform the diagnostic test that he had told us she needed. They did not seem to really know what they were doing and the staff seemed annoyed when asked questions. After they came back with the diagnosis that completely contradicted what our normal vet had told us we decided to get a second opinion. We took her from CARE, drove up the road to Animal Medical Hospital and were provided with the BEST care possible. When we arrived they immediately made sure that she was in a stable condition. Then they took our vets information very seriously, even asking us questions about the results he had given us to bring to the ER (she had already had a lot of lab work and even an abdominal US before we came). The faculty and Dr. Thomas spent time with us talking about her symptoms and exactly what was going on in order to narrow down the possibilities, and then made a game plan with us to make sure that she was ok. They were knowledgeable, knew immediately what needed to be done that night and what could wait until later as far as testing goes. In the end we had to leave our pup overnight for a procedure but were able to bring her home the next day and she is by far in a better place medically speaking than she was before we brought her. She is stable and comfortable and we are still working with Animal Medical Hospital to get her test results and then refer out to a specialist based on our girls needs. These people are AMAZING. They will treat both your pet and you with the utmost care and respect and they know what they are doing. Their prices were also extremely great. Very, very reasonable/affordable. Take your furbabies here, you will not regret it!
My 5 month old puppy swallowed a scrunchie and after calling my usual vet and being responded to rather cold, obviously upset and scared I was greeted by Holly on the phone who was extremely kind and patient, got us scheduled to come in ans made me feel ok instead of more scared. Amanda who was also kind and patient asking questions about what happened, came and took my puppy in and brought her back out which was not easy with my puppy a little nervous, she helped her all the way inside. Amanda continued to stay calm and comforting to me when I really needed it the most! Then Dr Slusky! Very informative and clear while also keeping a calm, comforting and Kind tone to her voice. This is hard to find these days even at places I’ve gone to and known for a long time. These were all people who had never spoken to me or seen my dog before, it really blew me away and I cannot express my gratitude for their kindness and help during an unexpected and scary situation enough!
I have taken both of my cats here three times for walk-in/emergency issues, all when I am panicked after regular office hours and when I can’t wait two weeks for an answer. I just went last week for my kitten, and everyone — from the person who I spoke to on the phone before arriving, to the tech who took him from my car (COVID), to the vet who actually took his time to call me and explain what is happening with my pet and why, the actions that have been taken, and next steps — EVERYONE was professional, kind, and displayed a bedside manner that my regular vet office (aside from the incredible techs!) has never displayed - and this is an every time occurrence at AMH. Additionally, I am never overwhelmed with the cost at the end, and they provide an itemized bill without surprise up-charges - even including “thanks for letting us care for your pet: $0.00” which is always charming. This has been my experience each time with AMH and yet I have never written a Google review, but today I feel especially compelled as I, an individual who has always identified as a calm, polite, and patient person, has finally had it with my regular veterinarian as of today due to my three-strike (or in this case, ten?) rule. Very odd that an emergency/urgent care facility provides better, more respectful care to my pets and myself than I feel my regular routine veterinarian does. Sadly, I probably wouldn’t have realized how much my cats (and I) are in need of a switch had I not received such great care from AMH each and every time. Calling tomorrow to see if they provide routine veterinary care — Switching! You all are the best, truly.
No one plans for their pet to need emergency services but if the need does arise I wholeheartedly recommend Animal Medical Hospital! They took excellent care of our injured dog. Everyone on staff was kind, courteous & professional. The vet provided a thorough explanation of her findings, the treatment needed & home care. The service was prompt & the cost was very reasonable! Thank you Animal Medical Hospital for taking great care of Quinn!
Incredible staff. Weve taken generations of dogs to Animal Medical for years and have had nothing but great experiences. We also utilize the grooming, boarding and day care facilities frequently. It is so nice to know that your dog is at a facility that staffs great vets 24 hours. If anything were to ever happen they immediately pull them to the medical side. The boarding and day care staff are amazing. They love our dogs and know them well. On the medical side we see Dr. Bridgette Andersen who we absolutely adore. She is so kind and patient which is saying a lot because we have a very wiggly Pug. We are so pleased to call Animal Medical our dogs only veterinarian. They definitely go above and beyond. Give them a chance if you are looking for great people that truly love your pets.
From the unprofessional receptionist to the lack of knowledge and high pricing, me and my pup didnt spend the full year with them. Read some other reviews. I gave two stars simply because I had great encounters with the curbside staff.
Animal Medical, but Dr. Blackburn in particular, are awesome to work with for all of my pets. She truly cares about each and every single one of them, remembers them and their issues, pays attention to detail and is very responsive. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us!
I have been bringing my cat here since I adopted her back in August. They have always taken amazing care of my Luna and answered all the questions that I have had as a first time Cat owner. I am so thankful for the kindness and compassion of the staff, especially since I can’t come inside with her (due to COVID). I always know Luna is in good hands when I bring her here.
Our dog gets so excited to go to daycare and play with the other dogs. We just say play day and she goes crazy. They treat all the dogs so well! It is clear the handlers love the animals.
I adopted my pup from the cmpd animal shelter and brought her to these wonderful people for her vaccines and a check up on both of my visits staff were SUPER friendly, understood that my dog has some past trauma and takes a moment to walk on a leash. They are so patient and treat the animals so well... The doctor took time to talk with me made sure i didnt have any unanswered questions. This place is Great and definitely deserving of tue 5 stars im giving....Thank you to the staff here you guys are AMAZING and dont get the recognition you all derserve for takin care of peoples fur babies.!!!
On Monday evening this week, we took our beloved German shepherd to this hospital with ongoing serious stomach issues (diarrhea and vomiting). The staff answered when we called and obtain information and did an initial intake for his symptoms and health. The staff obtained him from us promptly after we arrived. The vet called us within 20 min after examination. I wish I knew her name, but she was professional and supportive with a plan that was simple and reasonable. Sven spent the night without excessive tests and treatments. We elected to have him stay the night at a basic price for $60 to ensure he received proper monitoring and bathroom breaks. We picked him up the following afternoon. We cannot state how happy we were with the staff and care. Sven is back to normal. Thank you all for taking care of our boy. I have verbally recommended your facility to multiple friends already. THANK YOU!
These caring, professional and relatable people deserve so much credit! They are understanding, pragmatic and so knowledgeable. I appreciate them immensely. They made me feel validated regarding an extremely difficult decision I had to make. I cannot give them enough praise.
We have been taking our cats to this location for many years! we love the attention and personal care they have for our pets. It really feels like the family doctor for our beautiful cats, they love it there too! Thank you.
Dr. Lipsett and the team at Animal Medical Hospital are wonderful. With covid you feel a little lost sitting in your car and not being able to go in. The team here understand details. They pay attention. They care. They are informative and understand that upfront cost discussion is important. No steps are missed. The file of your pet is reviewed prior to them coming and getting your pet so they know what to ask when they come to the car. It gives you an incredible peace of mind that you aren’t starting over every visit. Test results are provided quickly and easily sent to other offices for specialty services. I can’t say enough about the service that is provided. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and I don’t know that we will ever go anywhere else. Doesn’t hurt that my dog remembered the vet after 1 visit and was so happy to see her and she got a kiss. ❤️
They’ve have always taken care of all my pets.
I recently rescued my fur baby from animal control and they recommended this business. Everyone was extremely friendly, and they went above and beyond to make sure my girl was healthy and will continue to be healthy. Highly recommend.
When a past student sent me a remind text at 9pm that she had rescued a kitten and it needed help, I was confused as to why she had asked me. She then went on to say her mama was at work and I was the only person she knew that she could ask for help. So, I helped her. When I got to the kitten I knew that it would probably, most definitely need to be put to sleep. When I arrived at the emergency clinic, the technician came out to get him. She was so kind and empathetic and took this stressful situation and made me feel at ease. When I learned that putting him to sleep was probably the best decision, they made me feel good to know that they were feeding him a treat and loving on him, when I couldn’t, because of Covid. They didn’t even charge me anything due to the circumstances. There are not many times that someone might need an emergency clinic and I hope that no one does, but if you have to use one, I’d vote this one 6 outta 5 stars. Thank you.
They were there when our little girl cat Elis died. They were very kind and as an emergency vet they are great. You can tell they love animals and people. God bless these kind people.
This place doesnt fully disclose the costs of your pets veterinarian procedures. I took my dog in and ended up with a $1000+ procedure being done without disclosing the costs of the procedure first and then being made to pay the bill or risk not getting my dog back and put in an uncomfortable position. Plus when I finally saw the full details of the bill it had a lot of hidden fees ($300) not even dealing with my animals procedure. Just go to the other vet clinic two doors down better value and service.
Were so grateful to the Animal Medical Hospital! Theyve provided us and our two cats with the highest levels of care, kindness and compassion during stressful times. Weve had a few midnight visits (over the past ten-plus years). Their staff always provide us with clear communication - about what our pets need, what options are available to us, and what they recommend.Without a doubt, we sleep more easily knowing theyre there when we need them!
Our family has chosen to allow The Dr. Coes Animal Medical Hospital & 24 hour Urgent Care to provide care/boarding for our fur babies for over 25 years! We have seen many docs through the years.... all have been wonderful.....however; for several years we have established a warm and special relationship with Dr. Lipsett and we wish that she could treat the entire family!!!Staff and docs are always courteous, compassionate, respectful, and caring for our beloved pets and their parents!!!If you are in search of a veterinary home for your pets, please schedule a visit with these talented professionals.....you will not be disappointed!
Brought our 10 wk puppy here as an emergency for a suspected injured leg. This staff was so, so kind and calming to us as we worried about our puppy. They promptly assessed his injuries and gave us proper instructions to care for him. I am so thankful to have found this hospital, and though I hope to not have a return visit, I will definitely choose this hospital for any future needs. Thank you for caring for our Baxter!♡
Our cats have been patients with AMH for years. I would trust no one else.
We have been AMH patients for over 10 years. The doctors and staff are wonderful: caring, compassionate, and attentive to the needs of both pets and owners. We especially love Dr. Lopez
My 12-year-old lab/shepherd mix ate a small pile of dirty laundry while I was at work. For the next few days she couldnt keep anything down. She was so, so sick. I rushed her to the hospital when she wasnt acting like herself. They got her in surgery in less than two hours. The surgery was pricey, but thats because they had to go into her stomach and small intestines. They did offer several payment options though! Which I really appreciate. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about my experience with this place. A plus is that its never crowded when I go in there-- they seem to get people and their pets into a room very quickly. They are efficient, kind, knowledgeable, and comforting. They saved my sweet dogs life. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I spoke with Carly on the phone 8/5 at 8:30 and she was SO helpful. She answered all my questions and did an amazing job of not making me feel stupid because I am a new pet owner. Really professional and so kind. Super awesome employee. Looking forward to coming in tomorrow!
They were great! Called them and explained our emergency and they took her right back assessed her, called us with the treatment plan and cost, and calmed my nerves that she would be okay thanks Dr. Thomas. Very reasonable prices I felt like too. Hopefully will not need them again BUT if I do I will use them again! Thanks for taking care of our Steffi girl!
We recently made the very difficult decision to have our loving companion of 16 years euthanized. Everyone here from the front desk to the the techs and especially Dr. Havill were so kind, compassionate and gentle with our sweet Mimsy. At no time did I sense any judgement or negativity regarding our decision. Thank you all so much for helping us in this very difficult time.
I have never done this but the service at Animal Medical Hospital warrants an updated review. I cannot recommend Animal Medical Hospital enough! We have been regular patients since our cat was diagnosed with cancer several years ago and have been back frequently as she was recently diagnosed with diabetes. We had a routine exam today and the staff were phenomenal - as always. Were there every month for blood work and we have yet to meet a single person who didnt take extra time to answer all of our questions or sooth any concerns we have. Our family cant thank you all enough.---We have an older cat who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Every staff member we came in contact with ---whether is was 11AM or 3AM-- were very nice and helped put us at ease. The staff took great care of both us and our cat. As of this month all of the cancer has been removed. I cannot recommend them enough. 10/10 would go back.
My dogs absolutely love the staff. Both of my dogs are rescues one of them is a very Shy and timid dog. He doesn’t trust a lot of people. I normally have to hold him to give to other people or distract him, he just wont go to other people. He jumps into their arms it melts my heart. The day camp counselors are heaven-sent, so kind, and patient. My dogs have a blast and when they get home they go right to sleep.
I have a 10 month old mix who likes to shred anything he can get his paws on. I’ve been there twice in the last 4 months because of him and each time they are so respectful and attentive. They care for my pet quickly and ensure me that even though I’m not allowed in the building during COVID he is being taken care of. They make sure to keep his services within my budget! Hopefully I’ll be back soon for just an annual visit and not another urgent care one!
After my second experience here, I can say I truly trust the people who work here and the quality care that put towards your pet.
Even with calling ahead, with a potentially life threatening issue for a dog.... after waiting outside for over an hour, was told the dog “slipped though the cracks” and it was now a 6 hour wait time. Unbelievable.
I adopted Harlem from the Animal Control Center and they included a coupon for this vet. Although, I live about 25 minutes away, I took Harlem, my new kitty there. The service provided was efficient and reasonable. I just adopted a second kitty. So she will be seeing the outstanding staff at AMH24UC as well.
This place is amazing! Very professional and caring, willing to help us anyway they could!
I brought my dog Cocoa in today as a walk in and she was able to see Dr. Jackson shortly after we arrived. With COVID-19 going on, I was unable to go in with her, but I felt very much in the loop about what was going on inside. I was able to speak with Dr. Jackson and she was able to breakdown what the best course of action was for Cocoa. Not only were they able to provide great care for Cocoa, they provided it at a very reasonable price. Every individual I spoke with was very professional! I think I have found a new vet for my dogs. Thank you guys again!
My cat needed urgent care. Every person at Animal Medical Hospital was caring and helpful. They understood how scary it was for me to have my cat so sick. They truly care about the animals in their care. Every staff person treated me and my pet with respect and understanding. We had to return to the vets the same day and they got us right in and helped my kitty. I cannot say enough good things. Even though we have moved and live further away now, I will still bring my pets here!
Well they just went from a fantastic place to a non-recommended place... Was told by at least 2 people that we would be able to bring baxter back for his rabies shot and since we wouldnt need to see the vet only pay for the shot. But when we just called now we were told we had to pay for a well check visit if we want them to give him his shot.. went from like $19 to $80+Now I see why all the over reviews said they were money hungry.....We wont be back. Glad we never had our other cat records transferred over.
I have used them as my vet for the last 2 years. Always have a reasonable price and they’re available 24 hours a day. Today my doggo didn’t feel well so I took her here (Saturday). They immediately came to my car to get her due to social distancing and kept me updated by phone. Excellent service and a very caring group of employees. You have to call them when you arrive and let them know you’re here which makes me feel a little safer too! Thanks for all you guys do!!!
Friendly staff and similar prices to what Id expect anywhere else.
I highly recommend this vet! My pup gets love and attention from every employee when they walk by. I feel seen and heard when addressing issues with Dr. Schoenig! I will forever be using this vet!
The staff was extremely friendly! My Zoe was diagnosed with extreme dehydration due to missing a few days of insulin. They told me she COULD be saved but, pretty much her life didn’t matter because I couldn’t afford the $1,522.49 that was estimated for cost of treatment. I think it’s inhumane to treat fur babies like their lives don’t matter because you can’t afford the fees. I didn’t qualify for payment plans etc. I pray my Zoe makes it until I can find an organization or Vet willing to help with the cost of treatment. 😔💔
First time going but wont be my last .... The staffing and doctor was very professional and informative about any questions or concerns and I really appreciate that ..... I really do like this place so should know how good they are Even in these times of the pandemic 👍
My dog woke up whining and walking funny on Sunday. I went to my usual emergency clinic, and they ignored my existence and made me wait for half an hour before I just gave up because I wanted my dog to get treated NOW. I googled other animal clinics and went to Animal Medical Hospital instead. I got served IMMEDIATELY and for MUCH cheaper than my usual clinic charges. The people I spoke to were all friendly and treated my dog very well. Their curbside service is legitimate and not just an excuse to give poor, lazy service. Needless to say, this is my new emergency clinic...
Our dog seen Dr.Obsert I believe that’s how you spell her name. She gave my dog a totally different medicine after I suggest a medicine that worked and my dog past doctors gave her. Dr.Obsest didn’t listen to my concerns or look at my dogs history. She just did whatshe wanted. My dog didn’t get better until I called multiple times requesting the medication that my dog previous got. I wouldn’t recommend that doctor to see your sick animal as she does what she thinks and that’s it. I love vets that works as a team with the fur parents and come to a solution.O nurse Courtney is a God sent! She could tell I was just about in tears over the phone and stepped in to make sure my fur baby got what she needs!!! COURTNEY you are amazing!
When I first went to the hospital, it was because my 7 yr old pitbull mix was sick and I didnt know why. She wasnt eating, she was vomiting and was very weak. She had cancer, and the level of empathy and care with the next set of decisions was very comforting. She was euthanized, and the process and follow up was shocking in the best of ways. My family received a very nicely worded card and at that point I knew if we were to ever adopt again, this would be my place. That was in 2014; we adopted in 2016 and the level of care our Lizy has received is outstanding. Shes a handful, but the vets and techs know her loving personality and she loves them all. Thank you for everything that has kept our furry baby girl with us.
Boarding prices for cats are very reasonable but trying to get someone on the phone is a daunting task! Put on hold all 3 times we called, twice for more than ten minutes! We called 30 minutes ahead of time to let them know we were coming, and then waited 40 MINUTES for them to bring out the cat! As much as we like this place, we probably won’t be coming back
Very friendly staff and Dr. Lipsett took quality time to answer my many questions being a first time dog owner.
My dog tore her ACL and I was thoroughly impressed with their service and care. 10/10 would recommend
Dr. Helen Wright is our veterinarian, and she was so incredibly kind, gentle with our cat, and knowledgable! She took her time, never rushed through anything, and answered all questions thoroughly. We asked about diet, behavior, and general well-being, and she gave concise, well thought out, and easy to understand answers. Our cat was immediately comfortable with her, and Dr. Wright made it very clear that safety and loving care were her goals. She wanted to bond with our cat, which made us feel like we werent just a random patient, but rather a close companion. Callie assisted us as well along with Dr. Wright, and she was also very nice. She answered questions, and did her best to make our cat feel at ease in the exam room. She gave treats, and pet our cat, all with a smile on her face and with a warm demeanor. The staff at the front desk were all fantastic as well. Brent checked us in/out, and he was very friendly and welcoming. He made me feel like he was welcoming us to his home, and not just his workplace.I highly recommend this team, especially Dr. Wright!
Great staff of doctors and awesome service. I love that they are 24hrs. Thanks for the care you have taken of my fur kids over the years!
I recently brought my 3-year-old dog to Animal Medical Hospital for his routine annual exam & vaccines. Dr. Lipsit was very thorough with the exam, explained everything to me, and offered sensible recommendations to me. My dog is a valued member of our family and I feel very comfortable bringing him to Animal Medical Hospital for care or treatment. Weve been going there for 2 years now, and I highly recommend it.
The work is terrible. This is not an emergency hospital. If its an emergency hospital, the work cant be this terrible. I will never visit this place again
