My husband and I are thrilled we chose Distinctive Design in undertaking the renovation of our master bath and master closet. The results are spectacular and exactly what we envisioned.We began this renovation project after buying a second home in Charlotte. We had to find a contractor and design team comfortable managing this project with our being on the west coast. In the midst of choosing Distinctive Design and beginning the project, COVID lockdowns began. We had to rely on Erin and Vince 100% to make sure the design and construction were managed well.Erin was patient and reliable in sending us samples for all our choices and creating a design that more than met our expectations. In the design phase, Erin listened to our needs and created different solutions. Finalizing the plan by phone and material choices by mail worked extremely well for us due to Erin’s knowledge and skill as a designer. As the general contractor, Vince and his chosen contractors did a top notch job in creating reality from the plans. I give Vince a score of A+++ in the workmanship and craft of the renovation and managing all aspects of the construction and making our dreams become a reality. Budget wise, this Distinctive Design Team renovation came in as planned.I love walking into our new master bath and closet. I am always delighted in looking at the material choices, colors and beautiful construction. Each time I see the bath and closet, I smile. Having never gone through a major renovation before, meeting with a general contractor filled us with some anxiety. These nerves quickly turned to excitement as we spoke with Erin and Vince from Distinctive Design. The plans as presented by Erin brought our visions of a new master bath and kitchen to life! We would like to take this opportunity to share our experience with Distinctive Design/Build/Remodel during our kitchen remodel project. We purchased our home in 2006. From the first we felt the kitchen space was not our idea of a great kitchen. We discussed, for years, the idea of a remodel and we finally decided to move forward with a plan for a complete redesign.Distinctive Design came highly recommended. We had a list of a number of redesign companies and began calling them for an evaluation. Erin and Vince were the first to come to see us and we were so impressed by their professionalism that we decided to go with Distinctive Design/Build/Remodel.Erin and Vince met with us, at our home on a number of occasions, and guided us through the entire design process through which our concepts could be made real. The process was much more complex than we anticipated but Erin and Vince’s design and construction management expertise was invaluable in assisting us toward the development of the ideal kitchen.We had some thoughts of what we wanted but Erin provided us with an extensive range of design possibilities and resources that made us realize that our new kitchen could far exceed our initial concept. Everything from layout to architectural enhancements as well as supplier availability was considered and discussed at length. Her esthetic sense was invaluable in producing a kitchen that we would love. We were presented with detailed drawings and renderings that allowed us to see where we were going. At every step of the process, Erin was immediately available to provide answers and guidance.We had a lot of questions concerning the construction phase. How long was it going to take? How much disruption to our lives and home, how much dust and dirt? Vince laid out the entire process, in detail, for us. He addressed every one of our concerns as well as some we never considered. The entire project, and each individual step was accompanied by a timeline that was rigidly adhered to so that we knew, every day down to the hour, where we were in the process and where we were going. Any question we asked was answered with a thorough explanation and on occasion, a demonstration. No issue was too small to address. We learned quite a lot about the science and application of the building process. His supervision and management of the contractors was superb. His complete professionalism was demonstrated time and time again. He also has a great sense of humor which went a long way in easing our anxiety.For Elizabeth and I this was, by far, the largest and most complex home project we ever entertained. Distinctive Design/Build/Remodel was the perfect choice as witnessed by the final result. A beautiful kitchen that is everything we could have hoped for.
