Ana always takes great care of me with a cut and beard trim. I started coming here about 1.5 years ago and I havent looked back. You get what you pay for and the quality definitely shows. Keep up the great work!

I left early and couldn’t find parking. Was literally driving around to find a spot. I’m never late. I get there after walking several blocks sweating with a hurt back and happen to be 15 mins late. There wasn’t anyone waiting and my stylist was sweeping hair in the corner. These haircuts are like $100+ and I’ve started taking my son here. They turned me away when I got there because I was late, glad I didn’t pay for parking. For a place like this with so much overhead cost and having been hit hard by COVID, to turn me away for being late once (parking issues Uptown and construction) it’s pretty terrible service. I’ll never come back here. No need to waste my time parking, driving around uptown, walking to get there, and then paying $$ for a haircut. I was even planning to increase my membership there. Forget it! I’ll find a better place with better customer service.

Danielle did a fantastic job. Really an elevated experience start to finish. Allison the manager makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Would recommend 100%Edit: Perri just cut my hair as Danielle left EJ, and Im thrilled about the result. Her attention to detail was so impressive. The combination of technical training and the luxurious experience make EJ a destination service.

The staff was very nice and friendly. The staff welcomed me as soon as I went in, they checked me in, and offered me a drink while I wait for my stylist to finish up with her other client. I didnt mind waiting since I was 10 minutes early. My stylist was a junior stylist who is still learning the ropes of being a hair stylist. She seems relatively new. Since this was my first time here and being a guinea pig for my stylist, I didnt really know what to expect. She started off by washing my hair, which was nice because it included a scalp massage. After getting my hair washed I told the stylist how I wanted my hair to be cut and styled. I also showed her a picture just so that we were on the same page. While my hair was getting cut, another staff member came to file my nails and gave me a hand massage. A nice addition. My hair stylist would ask the senior stylist and educator for advice from time to time, so the cut took a bit longer than I had expected. Overall, I am happy with my haircut and the service provided. I would definitely come back again and probably would prefer this place over shear excellence.

Emerson Joseph is hands down Charlottes best haircut Ive ever had! Ive been to a dozen other shops in Charlotte since moving here, and I can honestly say this is by far the best. The environment and shop is unrivaled - its like a man cave - theres pool tables, shoe shines, TVs, and the stylists focus on perfection and most importantly, attention to detail.

Went here for the first time today. Mallory was awesome! Professional, helpful, personable, etc. and gave a great cut even with my limited explanation of what I wanted. The place is very clean and very comfortable... feels more like a bourbon lounge. Pricier than other options of course but you get what you pay for.

Great shop in the heart of downtown Charlotte. Masculine clean space, great service, a little pricey but worth it, would definitely go back again.

If you are on the fence about going here, just do it. I got my hair cut with Carly, and it was such a wonderful experience. I didn’t want to go to your average joe shmo barber because I had super long hair (my hair ran about halfway down my back before she cut it, now it’s much shorter) and I didn’t want to trust just anyone with it, since I needed it cut for my wedding (not just a simple buzz or something) in 10 days. I have 0 regrets and you won’t either. I will definitely be coming back for future appointments!

My experience was amazing! Christina was super friendly and helpful setting up my appointment and getting me checked in. Mallory did a phenomenal job cutting my hair, took her time, and ensured my desired look was achieved. Mallory also went out of her way to inform me of the current promotions and due to her efforts I was able to book a massage at a special rate immediately following my cut. Lastly, Lindsay provided one of the better massages i have ever received. I only have amazing things to say about this gentlemen’s grooming business and encourage anyone staying or living in Charlotte to check it out. Make sure to inquire about the prohibition style bar space available for events if you do stop in!

Great haircut and wonderful service! Everyone is very friendly and Mallory was very helpful with suggestions on how I should get my hair cut for an upcoming wedding! They also did a great job with COVID protocol. Masks were required and waiting area was spaced out well and they require you to wash your hands when you come in. Went here for the first time, and I had an awesome experience. Mallory gave me one heck of a great haircut, and she was very kind and talkative. I was offered a drink when I arrived (had a beer) and the place is incredibly clean and cozy. Really happy with my haircut, definitely will return!

We all owe it to ourselves to go and get pampered, yes us men need to be pampered from time to time! I was instantly reminded by their array of various services on how long it had been since I received such pampering. Wow, this was my first time and I went with Carla who I believe is the most senior stylist and I seriously can not put into words how amazed I was with everything. I got the full treatment. Shoes shine, haircut, hot towel and she was amazing. Quite honestly the best experience I’ve had in over my 40 years. Prices were phenomenal for what you get. Best mens grooming in Charlotte! Ive been a member here over a year and use this place a lot. Ive had my hair cut by 4 different stylist and each one was incredible! The attention to detail by all the staff, especially my regular Perri, is world class. When you walk in you are greeted and offered a free drink. While you wait you get to watch sports or play pool. The chairs are super comfy. While getting your hair cut you get a free shoe shine and hand detail and the entire staff makes you feel very welcome. The bathrooms is like a spa too! Ive rented out the speakeasy a few times for private parties and its the best kept secret in Charlotte! Its a sure fire way to impress anyone! Ive been a member at a lot of private clubs and places like this and this is the only one Ive kept because the value is so high! I cant recommend this place enough...go, join, stop by...you want regret it!

Anas keen eye for symmetry and balance would impress the likes of Hercule Poirot. In addition to superb craftsmanship in hair removal, Anas makes for great conversation and an enjoyable experience. If you are a practicing stoic, Anas only downfall would be her ability to induce laugher. Ron Swanson is a man who demands all the bacon and eggs, and Ana is a woman who demands all the Google stars.

Excellent service and reasonable prices. This is a Mens Salon and it has it all from straight razor shaves to massages. The staff is friendly and skilled. The prices seem a bit high but considering its inside uptown, you dont have to go far and spend money and time to go out of your way, which saves you more money if you think about it.

I have been coming to EJ for a couple of years now and the service has always been exceptional. My most recent experience was the best yet and I have already booked my next appointment with Danielle, she is exceptional and I look much less like a wild animal thanks to her styling skills!

Upon entering, I was greeted and asked what was needed. After starting beard trim I was treated to a (Keurig) fresh cup of coffee while awaiting service. The coffee was barely cool enough to sip when a stylist called my name, brought my coffee to her station, and proceeded to trim the beard. When finished, she demonstrated some beard balm that was effective and smelled good. The cashier noted that I had a lot of walking ahead of me, and volunteered to hold the product for me, till it was convenient for me to pick up. VERY professional all around, and very reasonably priced.

The staff and amenities are great. I initially had an issue with a pedicure I recently had done. However, when I expressed my displeasure with the service, I immediately received a call expressing their sincere apologies and willingness to rectify the situation. They immediately scheduled me another appointment and and took care of my displeasures. I appreciated their immediate attention to my situation and their professionalism to provide the type of service customers expect.

I’ve been going to Emerson & Joseph consistency now for two years or so. They are very welcoming upon arrival & so caring w/ the way they treat you, whether it be taking your coat, grabbing you an ice cold beer, or pouring you a nice, fresh water. The staff is most helpful w/ arraninging my appointments & recommending products for me to use after each cut. I have never left displeased, never looked in the mirror after my cut is done, and never walked far from the door w/out receiving a compliment. One day someone approached shortly after a cut w/ a business card complimenting it while saying they could do a better job for a lower price, even asking me what I paid. I thanked the man for the card, politely took it, and carried about my way. I get so much more than what they ring me up for. I go there knowing that I am cared about as a customer & leave w/o one worry guessing if I got a great haircut or not. That gentlemen never offered me that, and that is what I find most valuable. I don’t go there for the cut, I go there for the experience.

Best mens groom and shave + free shoe shine with hair cut in town! Atmosphere is awesome: leather chairs, big screen TV, and the pool table in case you get there early. I have also used their facial and massage services. Its nice to have all of this in one men-centric location.

Was never a customer here but I am a customer of Hayden Olivia Bridal just upstairs from this place. After an hour of traveling in the car to uptown I had to use the bathroom very badly and when I tried going upstairs to Hayden Olivia the elevator wasn’t working. So I went into this place, carrying my wedding dress and a huge tote bag with my other wedding stuff in it, and BEGGED to use their restroom. The front desk lady was SUPER rude and denied me help. Just thought it was very rude to make someone wander around uptown carrying a VERY heavy wedding dress trying to find a restroom when it could have been very easy to help me out. Very selfish staff here.

Kinda expensive for what you get. I’m pretty sure the stylist farted during my shave cause it smelled like rotten eggs all of a sudden. She was cute so I didn’t mind even though it did kill my relaxed mood. I might return in the future if I’m ever uptown and need a shave and a cut.
