Ben does not answers calls or emails. Only after replying to the email message that I would not be renewing my policy did I get an email back from Ben so that he could call me a liar saying that I had never tried to contact him. I then called the Allstate customer service line, but unfortunately that directs you directly to your agent if your number is on the policy so I was blessed by Ben with another accosting. I would not recommend doing any business with this person. Very unprofessional and rude especially in a space as crowded as home and car insurance.In response to Ben’s reply:Airing grievances would have been adding screenshots of the emails you sent me calling me disparaging names after I said I was not going to renew my policy. Instead the above is an honest review of you becoming too emotional to handle yourself professionally. You called me a liar so I showed you where to find the evidence proving I was not lying: the exact email with date and time stamps that was sent to you a month ago and the exact date and time that I called and left a message last week. When you received you that information you screamed at me over the phone. Telling me to go find insurance somewhere else and then hung up the phone.I understand that you have now had 10 hours to settle yourself down. I want to be extremely clear. If you had the composure to send the below message this morning instead of screaming and calling me a liar, we would not be in this situation. I would have gladly went on my way and found another agent without ever leaving reviews. Your actions this morning were appalling and others need to be aware of that before they unfortunately become a customer of yours. The other reviews detailing the same actions as I have show this event isn’t an outlier. This is how you act.
We had Benjamin Hellbein for auto insurance for several years, and for the majority of that time we were satisfied with the service.However, this summer we moved out of state, and Benjamin was unprofessional throughout the entire process. He took weeks to respond to email beforehand, and when we asked for assistance with straightening out our NC policy after the move, he was super rude. I completely get that this is a business and his time is valuable, but some of the comments he made were uncalled for. Judging from other reviews, this is the rule rather than the exception.Again, for most of the time the service was fine. But if you ever need to switch insurance or make a move out of state...you can count on an unnecessarily unpleasant experience.

Ben was the most helpful, honest and professional agent I’ve ever worked with. I was moving and took the opportunity to shop my long term existing agents quote and I’m glad I did. Ben reviewed my coverage and very quickly was able to match the coverage but at a much lower premium. I almost didn’t believe it but Ben took the time to explain the comparison in detail and he simply was able to offer the same for less cost. It was a no brainer to move with him and his team at Allstate. I have recommended him and his team to others who were in transition like I was but also others who were feeling content with their current agency bc shopping my previous agent was well worth it.

Benjamin Helbein is a good sales man and can definitely talk the talk. Unfortunately he is not someone to work with if youd like good communication, customer service or professionalism. I am not here to bash him but to give a fair review. Signed up with All State in 2018 for Renters and Auto Insurance. Great pricing/ coverage! We recently bought a home and would have liked to get Home Insurance with All State. We ran a quote with Ben but found better coverage/ pricing with another company. To say the least, Benjamin got emotional when we wanted to cancel all of our policies to switch... When I called to cancel our policies his last words to me were Send me the cancellation date and Never call me again! He then hung up... I truly sympathize for him and his future. If thats how he conducts business, I will gladly go elsewhere. Good luck to you and your agency Ben, youll need it.

Benjamin stood up for two calls and when I followed up to reschedule, he asked me for tickets to a sporting event (ticket prices were over $750). When I told him politely told him I would be going with a different agent due to us not connecting when he missed our calls, here is his response:Hey no worries. Its hard to stop what Im doing to chase someone down for a policy that generates an annual commission of $7.90. I hope your mom finds you a better agent next time.CheersBenjamin
Ive worked with Ben and his agency for 5 years with my clients for my business AND my personal property In my opinion, hes one of the most knowledgeable and honest agents that Ive worked with. Ben has years of experience behind him and with the backing of Allstate you cannot go wrong. I highly recommend Ben and his agency for any of your insurance needs.
Benjamin is a great agent and a wonderful representative of Allstate, reviewers here seemed to be confused about how rates work and how the agent has nothing to do with them. You wont find a better person to deal with when you want face to face transactions. He did have to clean up his staff at one point but Benjamin is professional and courteous himself. Even when I wasnt with him and got a quote and he admitted he couldnt compete, he was very kind.
This review is for Benjamin Helbein. Im not sure about all of these negative reviews, all I know is that when me and my Fiance first came in to work with Benjamin he gave us an excellent rate (better then the call center) and better than Geico. He was super friendly, and personable, (loved his dog Miles!), And I would definitely recommend him again. It was an absolute pleasure working with him!
I would be devastated if my Agent Benjamin Helbein decided to close his office. He has demonstrated nothing but great customer service and so has Ms. Susan, I have been in several crisis situations and Benjamin and Ms. Susan has been there for me rather it be on a weekday or a weekend. If you wanna experience the most unprofessional service in your life, dont hesitate to go to this Agent.I was trying to have a renters insurance for my lender and my closing date is not defined yet, and basically I just wanted a quote and its not his business to ask for anything else other than running a quote. I described him more than 5 times and for running a quote its not necessary to know a date for price estimation! Apparently he was doing personal stuff and didnt want to bother himself with a potential customer. This wasted an hour of my day and I will try to escalate the report to some decision maker people to just shut down this office if you dont wanna do the most basic serves.
Benjamin and his staff have always been helpful with my insurance needs. I like the location of his office and how easy it is to get a hold of someone there.
Ben is the most unprofessional agent Ive ever worked with. When I called to cancel my plan to switch to a better provider, he preached how much better his customer service was than theirs....then hung up on me when I said I wasnt changing my mind....

Horrible customer service. Basically said I was, not worth his time. Thats not how you treat people, especially paying customers. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere and not recommending Benjamin.
Thank you BEN! You really saved me! Ive been going round and round with the DMV since Wednesday on the phone all day. Finally a call to the DMV was a happy one! Shot out to Kaylee for putting up with my persistent calls, she did a great job trying to get the issue rectified. Thanks for your super fast help!!
