Whitey, his son Quinton, and Dave are all topnotch mechanics with decades of experience under one roof. Ive tried other shops including major gas statiion service centers and dealer service centers all to my dismay. Those places always lie about whats wrong with your vehicle, make busy work for their shops and over inflate the service ticket with unnecessary repairs.Well, at Whiteys they tell you what is actually in need of repair, replacement & service, what needs immediate attention and what can hold off awhile.Their pricing is fair, and mechanics truly know their stuff.Weve taken our cars to Whiteys since about 1989, tried other places, but always come back to Whiteys. Nothing like honest mechanics.

Give them 2 stars as at least the guy was polite. Refused to do work on my car or inspect it because it was too low. First, there is no rule in VA safety inspections for too low, only proper function of suspension. Okay, he didnt know that, obviously. Thats fine, but should look it up.He refused to do custom exhaust work on my car for the same reason. On a car that is EASILY lifted on to jack stands in my driveway with a $45 jack from Harbor Freight. But, he said they couldnt do it. Or didnt want to to be bothered. Maybe I should have brought my jack with me. Must be nice to be in such a situation where they can refuse work and lose a potential long term customer!Again, he was polite, thus he gets 2 stars. BUT he didnt know VA law about suspension height. Would love to comment on his work which Im sure is good, but he never gave me the chance.Nice car he has though, although he evidently cant work on it in his own shop.

Reviewed Date: September 28, 2019 - Went to get state inspection done. Right up front I was told that I need to replace two rear tires since they had dry rot and low tread. They were correct. They told me that they would not charge me for inspection or remove my current sticker and instead to get new tires and come back for inspection. That level of simple honesty without charging customer is unheard off these days. They are very few off the honest auto business left in this region these days.Reviewed Date: May 4, 2020Went to Ourisman Chantilly Toyota Dealership to get car fixed due to an existing recall. Upon getting the car fixed the dealership told me I should replace front rotors on my car as it has slight rust on it (see the attached pic). I brought my car to Whiteys Automotive for second opinion and they were super honest in their assessment. They stated that this is just cosmetic rust than can appear over time and the front rotors and brake pads look just fine and does not need any additional work at the moment nor does it affect the safety of the vehicle. This kind of honesty in a Automotive field is un-heard off nowdays. still glad that there are folks left who take pride in their work and work hard for an honest living.

Quinton did a great job on my exhaust, it was very professionaly done and sounds exactly as he said it would, great. Very happy customer, would recommend.

These guys (Quentin) did a custom exhaust on my very low track miata a few years ago. Not only did they do a great job, but they did it at a very competitive cost. I plan on taking my next gen cars to them as well.

Great service and very reasonable prices. I took my beamer in for service and he was very straight up with me about what we could and could not do. I provided the parts for him and when comparing the labor prices with other places, I noticed that Whiteys was by far the lowest I could find. He was also very fast with the work and he even reset my service sensors without me asking... I have taken my car in for service at Goodyear, VA Tire and Auto and Land Rover/Jaguar but none of those places could ever figure out how to reset the sensors after completing the service. I would always have to do it myself. Its not a big deal, but this confirmed that Whitey indeed knows his beamers. :) Great job!!

Quentin did a true dual aluminized exhaust on one of my square body Chevy trucks 16 years ago and has been through hell and back four wheeling and a whole other motor. Wouldnt have anyone else do a custom exhaust on any of my trucks.
