I called at Don’s towing at 6:45 am and lady who picked up the phone was really friendly. She listed to my needs and sent a tow truck over in 30 minutes. Brandon the gentleman who assisted with towing my 85 Cadillac was also really nice and professional. By far this is the quickest service I have ever encountered with a tow company. I needed a tow about a year and a half ago and they fixed my car is record time and service was always nice. My car recently broke down twice in a matter of two weeks and they were able to get it back up and running and customer service was always top notch. And the 24hr towing is always a plus.

Great company. Ive used them for years but they really showed their colors yesterday. We had a difficult tow and they went the extra mile to recover the car from down a steep embankment and in a corn field. The driver and other crew members were polite, professional and really put forth their best effort. I highly recommend their service.

Dons towing as came out to help me multiple times, and the service was great, fast and prompt! Especially when my car needed to be toward after my accident some months ago and not only that when I needed my car I have now battery died about a week ago, they came and got me started. I had the pleasure of working with the nice, sweet and funny guy named Glen most of the times I needed there service. He talked to me which most of the tow places just come to get the job down and say 3 words to you but he made it easy and not weird. And he did all this a timely manner! Thank you Dons towing! Literally moved my car from one spot to another and then proceeded to tow it from that spot with a picture. I own the spot that my car was placed in and somehow it “ended up in a different spot”, magically. I have no proof that it was parked in my original spot. I saw no need to have proof of that when I own the spot. This is ridiculous. When I had called to speak with the people in charge, the office manager was patronizing and rude. She did not hesitate to become belittling to myself as well as my father. Extremely corrupt as others have stated. They are just looking for ways to take money

I was stuck out on 57 with a smoking flat tire and they came and got me all fixed up. Turns out my car didnt have a spare so they took me all the way back to town to the tire store. It was so cold and raining and he put me in the warm cab while he did everything. Even drove extra carefully so my car wouldnt sustain any further damage. Great price too!

I called Dons Towing when I had a flat tire.I spoke to a very kind woman who said her name was Clare, she said she would send the tow truck to me in about 20 to 30 minutes.The truck showed up after about 20 minutes and the driver promptly replaced my tire with the spare. I was back on the road within an hour. Dons Towing will be getting my business when I need towing or tire service.

Got a flat on the coldest day this winter (so far anyways). Glen towed me down to the tire barn, only cost me 60 bucks. Super nice guy, would highly recommend!

Was told the tow trunk company would come help tow me to a tire company and it would be 15-20 minutes. Sitting on the side of the highway for an hour and half and the tow trunk wasn’t even on the way. Absolutely awful service. Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone as they are not truthful to their customers and don’t care about them. They also told me I would be at the tire place by 7 and its 6:15 and they are not on the way. Absolutely ridiculous.

G was the guy I had the pleasure of being helped by and when I say the man is absolutely a blessing I truly mean it. The service was fast and efficient and I recommend this company over any in the Champaign Urbana area! I hope his boss give him a raise or extra vacation time!!!

I highly suggest you dont use dons towing, my car got towed and they charged me $270 for it to get it out. That Is a ridiculously high price for them towing my car, the towing fee alone was $145 then they tacked on a $65 dolly fee and a $35 labor charge? Plus the $25 city fee which I can understand oh and if you dont pick your car up the same day its an additional $50 per day it sits in their lot. I highly suggest staying away from this corrupt and overcharged company.

If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!!!!! SOOO RUDE AND INCOSIDERATE. We had a flat tire and finally found the spare and when my mom called them to tell them we find out and we need assistance. THE LADY HUNG UP IN OUR FACE AND PROCEEDED TO SAY WE DO NOT HELP WITH SPARE TIRES and just hung up the phone. We called one million times and no one answer trying to avoid us. We are from Arkansas and just needed helped that’s all. I wouldn’t recommmand here FOR ANYONE.

Despite my disrespect they were very respectful towards me and had the upmost professionalism towards me. My issue was still not resolved as the owner held a grudge and acted childish despite misunderstanding

My experience with Dons was a horrible. I was stuck in a snowy driveway (literally 3 feet from a plowed road) and needed to be towed out of a snow drift. They said it would take 90 minutes to get there, which I understood because the weather was bad and they had a lot of people to help. After the 90 minutes had passed, they were nowhere to be seen, so I called back. They claimed theyd tried to get to me but the roads were impassible. Heres an idea: if that was true, wouldnt it be a good idea to call me and let me know that? Anyhow, I then called another tow company in town who, despite supposedly impassible roads, was able to get to me in 30 minutes and have me out in less than 10 minutes. I then drove home with no issues on the impassible roads. They lied, didnt communicate, and were rude, and I will tell this to anyone who will listen.

Had a terrible experience with these guys and Road Ready about a year ago, see my Road Ready review for my experience with them.I had a blow out on 55 while driving an old retired ambulance. We had a spare but none of the proper equipment to put it on, and one of my other tires is low because we had some faulty stem extensions put on which was the cause of the blowout in the first place. Anyway, we call around trying to find someone that can do the job and Dons says they can and cheap. I tell them we need an air compressor, an impact wrench and a jack that can lift a 10,000lb truck. I want to take this moment to add that the lady I talked to on the phone was very polite and really the only pleasant part of the whole ordeal.So the guy shows up and pretty quickly too. Unfortunately he has none of the necessary equipment. The best he can offer is to tow us over to Road Ready who can put it on for us. Thats cheaper than having them come out to us, and hes already here so I agree. I do think we need to put air in the one tire thats low before towing and say so, but the driver says it will be fine so I go along assuming he knows what hes doing. Turns out thats a mistake because he ends up taking a wrong turn and tries to make a u-turn while towing the ambulance and ends up destroying another tire in the process. After some back and forth with the driver and the dispatcher, they eventually agree to pay for one tire and not charge for the tow. Thats great but doesnt change the fact that Im now way behind schedule and will have to wait for a new tire rather than just putting a spare on.At this point I call the dispatcher back to clarify how the tire would be paid for. The polite lady is off shift now and there is a new woman that picks up and she is TERRIBLE. She picks up the phone but doesnt answer, and I can hear her talking with someone else in the background who is explaining the situation. Shes freaking out on them, saying she doesnt want to deal with this its not her job. Finally she gets on the phone and asks how she can help me, and let her know that I just heard everything she said and ask how were going to be compensated for the tire. She is extremely rude with me and says that its not her job and its to be settled between me and the towtruck driver. Thats great, but the driver is gone by now, so youre going to have to get a hold of him. So eventually he calls me up and tells me that hes called Road Ready and arranged for the tire to be paid for.Nows the part when it gets even better. We head over to Road Ready who is inexplicably rude to us. They say its going to be two hours, so were waiting around the shop for a while and then about 20 or 30 minutes later they say they got another call and its going to be six hours before they get to us. I think its outrageous that were being skipped over for another customer after waiting already and then one of their mechanics tells us that they dont even want to touch our truck because Dons had screwed them over on some deal before and they werent even sure if they would really pay for the tire. Then shortly after that they say they got another call and wont be able to get to us today at all.I ended up calling Tatmans Towing who sent someone over who was quick and professional and towed us over to Tire Barn who had two new tires on in minutes. Dons Towing did end up paying for one tire but that didnt really help the fact that they had cost me an entire days work due to their multiple mistakes and sending me to a shop that they had a poor relationship with.

Parked downtown, went to pay the meter, and was told by a local that parking was free on weekends. Returned to my parking spot to find my truck missing. Called local tow companies, located my truck, and was charged $245 to retrieve it. On top of that, the company made me sign a release stating that they would not be held liable for any damaged that they caused BEFORE I could even look at my vehicle.
