Hate to even give them the one star but that’s the lowest option.Absolutely horrible company. I could type for days but I’ll give you the short version—my experience was unbelievably terrible. 15k in fees, zero advice, results, professionalism, etc. MH didn’t even end up filing my returns, still cost me 15k. When I started asking more and more questions as to why I wasn’t getting the advice that I was promised and why my invoice was so ridiculously high, the representative I was dealing with, Anthony Deddo, sent me a letter “disengaging” me from their services. Basically telling me that since I’m clearly unhappy and I had an attitude the last time we spoke that they weren’t willing to work with me anymore. I am a fairly high income individual, so I sought out their services to help me effectively spend money at the end of the year toward my business. They literally gave me zero advice and basically set me up to pay the highest tax rates possible on all of the income that I earned. Exact opposite of what you want an accountant to do. Then, again, once I started questioning the service and lack of advice they basically said they didn’t want to work with me anymore. Run for the hills! This company should not be in business and will absolutely take advantage of you if given the opportunity.I should have known better when I signed their engagement letter to begin services. The agreement states that they will not go to court over disputes. They’ll only allow arbitration. I’m assuming because they have so many disputes with clients. My financial advisor cringed when I mentioned them (before I shared my experience with them, just mentioned their name). He let me know he has several clients that have had horrible experiences as well.Disclaimer—-I’m a business owner. I NEVER bash other businesses unless it is absolutely necessary.I’m only leaving this review in hopes that I can save other hard-working Americans the stress, heartache, and financial duress they caused me.

I may be the lone voice here, but I cannot recommend Martin Hood for Personal Income Tax preparation when it comes to convenience and value. The experience I had was slow and expensive. It took them 4-7 days to response to simple email questions, and I had a heck of a time getting them to meet my wife and I (both healthcare professionals) outside of their posted hours.Long Version:I dropped off our 2018 taxes with Martin Hood last year. It took them close to 1 month to complete and return our fairly straightforward filing. We were charged $600.00 for it. They charged us an additional $175 a few weeks later for an IRS response letter that was specific to the filing. To their credit, they did try multiple times to reach out to me to explain their fee structure. This was after I had made my frustrations clear. But by that time, I had seen enough and wasnt interested in hearing why we were charged $600 for an hour of work (perhaps 2 hrs max), that needed a 1-month turn around time, and an additional $175 clarification letter to the IRS.For comparison, this year, I dropped off our 2019 taxes to the local HR&R block store on a Saturday afternoon. In less than 24-hrs, our tax filing was ready for pick up. They charged us $230 plus a $40 peace of mind guarantee, covering any potential issues with their filing.$775 (600+175) with a 1-month turn around time vs. $270 (230+40) with a 24-hr turn around time. It doesnt take fancy accounting to see which one is the better deal (and experience).

It is a pleasure working with Anthony Pendleton. He came to our office, provided sound knowledgeable advice and he helped coach me through QuickBooks to get our accounting on track.

I contacted them for time-critical tax advice on the last business day before Christmas Eve. They went out of their way to help me very quickly and gave excellent informed and professional advice, exactly what I was looking for. Highly recommended.

The main building has tranquil garden area with artificial pond with flow of water making peaceful sound of stream right in front of enterance.Lady at the front desk is friendly and they offer clients tea or coffee while waiting.Sofa at the lobby was comfortable and they placed some reading materials (newspaper, etc.) and elegant coaster for drinks on the desk.I accidentally entered wrong building at first and the staff there was generous to pause his task and letting me know which building to find my accountant guiding me to the main building.Enrolled agent Dae-Woung Kang who gave me first impression of professional and polite manner, helped me with the questions I had, explained what forms I need to bring in for the next visit.I am glad that I decided to make an appointment at this place for my first accountant consulting experience. 10/10 would visit again.
