Well been shopping there over the years. Granted parts need to ordered. No issues.I had to get my landlord’s mower repaired as his cancer is acting to fast. There staff got me all the correct parts. Mower works great now. Thank you again for all your staffs help.Sure he will b happy to see it still going. Even though he will be unable to ever use it again.
Horrible customer service. I dropped my riding lawnmower off over a month ago to have it looked at because the mower was making an odd sound. I realize with Covid there’s gonna be some time to repair but I had to call every week to get any information or status. When I picked it up, brought it home and turned it on, not only did they not fix the problem, they made it worse and now it took chunks of my concrete out of my driveway. When I took it back for the technician to look at, his attitude was so nonchalant and uncaring it was pathetic. Apparently, they never even looked at the mower and didn’t know that that was an issue. He could care less that I was upset that it didn’t get fixed or that we had a communication problem. I tried to call and talk to the manager about my concerns and my unhappiness and I waited 10 minutes then hung up. I am out 100 dollars and a mower that still needs to be fixed.DO NOT TAKE YOUR MOWER HERE FOR REPAIRS. I would take my business elsewhere.
4 stars because it’s a hit and miss experience. Most of the times the service is great. Some times the service calls go in a black hole.Examples: I came in the store with problems starting my Stihl chainsaw, which also had one cover screw missing. The guy put a screw that he found in stock, adjusted the chain and most importantly showed to me how to do it myself and start the saw properly. Didn’t charge me anything! Five stars +Another time, I managed to lose two out of three cover screws. Came in the store, they didn’t have any in stock that day and back ordered. Said should take a couple days and they will call when screws arrive. Two weeks later I called myself and the person on the phone couldn’t find my order. Ordered again. I came in the store the following week to drop off chains for sharpening - same useful person as before was able to find my screws and put them in.So definitely hit and miss but my personal experience is mostly positive.
Ten minutes in the store, no one acknowledged my presence, left.
Bought a lot of Stihl stuff from them over the years. Communication is poor. The counter girl actually told me they wont answer the phone if they are busy. Can confirm. I had to stop in to check the status of my repair because the phone was OFF. It had been finished for a week. She said they left message. NO, THEY DID NAAAAAHT.
Ive had good service there before. This time was different. I took my chainsaw in for carburetor adjustment. They said it should take 2 weeks. I called back in 2 weeks and they said theyd have the technician call me. Nothing. Then Derecho hit. I must have called 30 times and no answer. Finally, after calling another 30 times someone finally answered. Same story, the Technician will call you back. Nothing. So, I drove to the store. Same story, the Technician will call you back. Nothing. Now its been over 6 weeks and I call again. Sorry, we cant get parts for a Craftsman chainsaw. Really, then why didnt you tell me that when I brought it in or anytime during the last 6 weeks?! I drove in and picked up my chainsaw. No, sorry, no nothing. I look at my chainsaw and unless theyre repair process includes sprinkling sawdust back over the screw holes when they were done they didnt even look at it. I get that the derecho made them busy but please dont tell my they didnt fix other chainsaw during those 6 weeks. Mine was obviously not a priority for them. I needed my chainsaw just as much as all their other customers and mine should have been first given that they had it 2 weeks prior to the derecho. This was obviously not a First-Come-First-Serve process so Im very apparently not a valued customer.
Bought a stihl fc 96 here. I live over an hour away I did not receive an operators manual with the machine. Also I tried to use it when I got home and the gear box was not on properly took it to my local stihl dealer they slid the gear box on another half inch.
The place is a rip offWont be during business with them ever again. Never returned the mower when promised.
Great job on my lawn mower!
Very helpful and willing to assist me.
Great place to buy plus for repairs ir tune ups when u get it back runs like new and care about customers. They do compression tests before doing repairs to make sure chain saw or blower r worth repairing.
Terrible company. I have a riding tractor with auger I had them service. I had told them I wanted a new tie rod end on the right side, and a tube put in the right side rear tire. They did a tune up not addressing what I specifically requested. I called them again for pick up/delivery as I dont have a trailer. I talked to Mark who said he would be right there. I waited an hour and he never showed. I call them a few days later and talk to Mark again, he says he will be right there. While Im trying to give him directions as to where to pick up the tractor he cuts me off and says, yep I remember where its at and asks me to sit by the shop where the tractor is. A half hour later of me sitting by the shop I see him back into the drive and head the other way. I got in the truck to try tracking him down but he left. I called sled shed and they called him, Mark said he was waiting on me for 15 minutes (at the wrong shop not even close to where I tried explaining and that he said he remembered. So his fault for not clarifying or letting me finish clarifying where the tractor was. He didnt try calling or getting ahold of me. The lady at sled shed said well he waited for 15 minutes and isnt going back. The place use to be ran decently, now it is trash. I wouldnt take a toy lawn mower there. Im amazed at how horrible they are and a lack of clarity on anything. Find some where else unless you like wasting your time and money.
Started restoring several old ariens mowers this year and will need to order plenty of parts. I stopped into sled shed with a bad gauged gas cap in hand which we special ordered 2.When they came they were too long even though we had brought in the exact item when we ordered them.No big deal, and I wAs willing to re-order and wait but the guy at the counter got really short with me and was clearly upset over the return. I think he was the owner... he just got an attitude and didn’t care to hide it at all. He did take the return and didn’t charge any fees but proceeded to throw the items in the back room. I Was also going to buy a new toro mower while there but after the attitude I just left without ordering replacement caps or buying the mower.I have been ordering my parts online. Ow and won’t go to these guys again due to the way they treated me and likely treat any small customer.
I emailed a quote request over three weeks ago... As of yet I’ve not gotten a response. In the meantime I’ve physically gone to the store to order what I wanted.. You know the support your local shop stuff.. Almost a 1.5 weeks later no phone call from them.. I had to call only to find out my item was on back order but should be arriving any day. If I wanted this type of service I would have gone to a big box store..
Does anyone work there??Been calling to see if they have a part for my chainsaw.Been calling for the last hour every 5 minutes and no answer. Letting it ring for about a minute. How do they stay in business??Update: Stopped in the next day at 12:10pm. Pulled on the door, its locked. Sign said closed noon to 1pm for lunch. REALLY!! Got parts at another business.
Great place to get parts!
I broke the plastic throttle trigger on my Stihl MS170 chainsaw at 5:00 pm on Friday night. I needed the saw to help our church do some clean up the next day so I showed up at the store early Saturday morning. I was let in a few minutes early, but was told they didnt have the part. But just when I thought I was out of luck, they went and found the part on an old saw they had in the back. As they were getting busy, they took it off the old saw and gave it to me. I know its a cliche, but you cant find that kind of service in the big box stores. I bought my saw from the Sled Shed (and a bunch of safety equipment), but them helping me out last Saturday got them a loyal customer for life!
I called to order a part Monday morning. Called back 15 minutes later to add to the order and couldnt get anyone to answer the phone. Tried through out the rest of the day and never got an answer. Went down to the store front Wednesday to straighten things out in person and they were closed because of roof repairs.
Had visit them during the peak of the clean up activities from the nasty storm Aug. 10. They performed to highest quality possible in very trying circumstances.
Back to Midway Outdoor EquipmentBought a Brand New Toro Recylcer 4/10/2020. After two months i noticed gas leaking out of the air filter so i took it back to be corrected.Dropped mower off 6/13/2020 called a week later still wasnt done. I understand they are busy but when you buy something brand new and have issues I dont think its unrealistic to have the expectation that the brand new equipment I bought would be resolved much quicker. This was not the case, apparently it was done June 30th but i never received a call (owner states i was texted but if i was texted i wouldnt be picking it up 7/13/2020, i live 5 minutes from their CR location) so after calling 7/13/2020 I was told it was ready. So not only was i not notified when it was finished I had to use my old mower which was on its last leg for a month. Just wait it gets even better!7/13/2020-Go in to pick up mower and was told that I overfilled the gas tank and that it leaked down into the air filter causing the gas leak out and saturate the air filter. My yard is very small (it takes 10 minutes to mow) so i never filled the gas all the way full. Either way they told me that i needed to pay $70 for the repair. I was NEVER notified it would cost me anything before they repaired the mower or the fact that i would be charged for it to be repaired when i only bought the mower brand new 60 days earlier. The fact i was charged $70 to repair a mower that was brand new is absolutely ridiculous. Stand behind your product, or call me letting me know that it would be X amount of dollars to fix and that it wasnt covered under warranty. I would have had no problem paying for a new air filter. Instead they went ahead and repaired it, never notified me it would cost me money to repair, never notified me that it was done AND chose to charge me a normal repair fee for a mower that is brand new. When i bought this mower nothing was said about the possibility that if the mower were to go over some uneven ground the gas could trickle into the air filter or if it the gas tank was overfilled it would leak down into the air filter. Personally I think the fact that if filled all the way full it would leak down into the air filter is bad engineering, that makes no sense at all.The point is that I will be going to Midway after todays interaction. The owner (Steve I believe) showed no regard that i purchased the mower 60 days earlier or an empathy that i was never notified that the mower was fixed. This whole experience was a PRIME EXAMPLE OF BAD BUSINESS. Go to a big box store or Midway Outdoor Equipment. Hard to support local businesses when they do bad business. All over $70 for a brand new mower. Hope it was worth it Steve.
Bought my tree timmer here. Staff was great, prices were reasonable and it was a good experience. Dont live in CR any longer but I still would recommend.
I like to repair my small engine equipment myself so I go to these guys for advice and parts. They usually have in stock what I need for simple carburetor rebuilds, belts, etc. Otherwise they can order it. Part prices are reasonable in my opinion. Crew is solid but always busy with orders. During their busy time, if you need something serviced, dont plan on getting it back for over a month in some cases.
Read all the negative reviews they are indicative of how this business operates. We had an absolutely horrible experience.
Extremely knowledgeable salesman and service techs. We buy and service all of our snow blowers here as well as many of our other small engine tools. We are always satisfied with the customer service we receive.
Would give zero stars if possible. Charged $200 for 2 $13 belts. Wanted another $200 for labor. I opted to just pay $200 to order the belts and do labor myself. They called me at 3pm to say they were going to put my Toro rider out on the curb if I didn’t get it by 5pm that day. Adding if it was stolen or ruined they weren’t responsible. This is while paid for belts are still on order! I was out of town and unable to get there by 5pm especially w 2 hr notice. The next morning as I was heading to pick up, someone from the shop called & said they put it on the curb last night in the rain and it was stolen. When I said I was going to the station to file a report suddenly they had it in the shop. Was all a LIE. Despicable place. Who does business like that? AVOID.
Worst company i have ever ordered anything from. Took 3 months for them to order a bagger in and after calling 3 different times they stated they have not ordered it. After getting it and paying they charged me for shipping when i was told on the initial order there isnt shipping which i asked.
My lawnmower has been to them twice and they didnt fix the problem i will never use them again i took my mower in in may they had my mower for over a month then charged me for something they did not fix this place is a complete joke
Could use another front counter person to greet potential customers.
Went in the sled shed there was one person working. I heard Ill be right with you, 15 minutes later i left after not talking to anyone
I love Toro mowers and wanted to buy local. I thought I was gonna have to buy from the unfriendly folks in Hiawatha... The staff at the Sled shed came to my rescue!Friendly and helpful. Cant thank them enough. They made my buying experience what Id hoped for. Great job guys!
Id rather use the internet, its much more informative and people friendly.
Had our 2 mowers for 2 months never looked at them and would take down our number to call us back with an update but would never call back.
I just talked to Adam about servicing my snowblower. What a PERSONABLE man.
I had a problem with my chainsaw. The guys took care of it right at the counter. Had me fixed up in a few minutes. Good people.
Bunch of unhappy employees who were forced to work in a place they hate so thy take it on customers. Will never recomand this company to anyone.
They only Cary the best. Great service.
Great customer service goes the extra mile to help you either on the phone or in person. So next time you need a small engine part use them.
Horrible service-just lost a long time faithful customer!!
They have really stepped up their service
Particularly poor customer service. Wont be back.
The sled shed is my go to place for chainsaw repairs and parts. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to discuss the pros and cons of their Stihl equipment. Their automated chainsaw sharpening makes each chain cut perfectly reguardless of pitch and guage. This is the only place I trust to sharpen my chainsaw chains.
Very knowledgeable about their products. I bought a weed trimmer. They saved me money. I would buy from here again.
Great service, top notch
Great equipment and service. I would recommend going here.
Friendly staff and always have or get my parts for me.
Sell great products and provide great s er rvice.
Fixed my lawnmower..fast. good price
Knowledgeable and courteous staff and a huge inventory of parts to fix most anything.
Long lines, but worth the wait.
Great customer service, always ready to help!! Lawn equipment for any size yard.
Check Amazon lol. Way to support your local economy! Lets see Amazon help you fix something or employ and help OUR local economy! Ill admit, these guys arent always the friendliest but they have always been exceptional when it comes to getting me the answers and parts I need, Id rather have that than Amazon or some bullshi**er that blows smoke up my arse.
A good honest business.
Helpful staff.
Great service. The guys are friendly and on point. Leading by example.
Very helpful, knowledgeable owner and staff
Very helpful staff. Helped me solve my problem and got me the right parts.
Very friendly staff, no pressure sales, which was nice
Rude, uncooperative and unprofessional. HIGHLY OVERPRICED, check Amazon before you buy.
These guys are always super helpful and knowledgeable
This place is a joke. It needs to be shut down asap. Staff is very rude and they started swearing at me
Some of the nicest service people around
Great place and quick
Great place, I was stranded in a blizzard with a broke down geneator while camping on a Saturday. They fit me right in and got me back on track.
There is something seriously wrong with the owner of this place....
I will not be using this place even in a bind. Extremely rude employees. The owner was even rude and not helpful when needing assistance.
Good customer service
Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Rude on the phone from the get go...must not want to sell anything to me...
Very helpful staff
All good
Very helpful!
Poor customer service, spent almost $600.00 on new mower and had to ask how to operate. Acted like did not have the time. Store was empty.
Expensive not the right part
Wonderful service!
Had to wait, busy
