Oh my gosh you guys. My internet was an absolute pain. You name it, it went wrong. I live in a VERY difficult area. But, these guys at Mountain West NEVER gave up. They spent a week of tossing ideas around and trying this and that to get us service and they PREVAILED! Big thank you to every one involved!!! Highly recommend. Thumbs up.

Best decision we made was switching from Spectrum to Mountain West. Every employee is polite and helpful. We use the internet for our laptops and streaming on Tv and our service has been wonderful. I think we had one major outage when the area was hit by a terrible snow storm. With the other provider is was getting to be almost daily that we would have blips of non-coverage. Also you can’t beat the cost!

The price is good for the speed, but unlike most reviewers, the customer support has been one of the worst local based supports I have ever had the dissatisfaction of dealing with. I thought that a local english speaking company would be a refreshing change of pace, but it seems this company is doomed to fall into the habits of the larger international companies we all have grown to deal with and despise. After the install with a router I purchased from them, the wifi kept kicking my devices off randomly. I called several times and left a few messages over a couple weeks, with no response or answers. When I finally got someone to answer the phone they said they would try some things. I also asked for the administration info for MY new router and was told they would email me that information. After another week or so I still had received no emails or return calls. I called again and again had to leave a message. Another week passed before I finally got a call back, they were able to fix the wifi issure that day. They comfimed my email address as I had also not received a bill in about 2 months. I asked the support agent what I owed and was told about $45, I paid right then over the phone, then less than two weeks later I received my first email from them with a bill that was over $200. I understood that I owed for the months, the router, and the install, but they could have told me that over the phone. One would assume for a communication company they would communicate within their company and with their clients alot better. I received no leniency for the two month my router was messed up nor any consideration for the fact that I am the one who reached out to them when I hadnt recieved my bill.Needless to say I will not be recommending this service to my friends or family and I will continue to look for a better deal with a company that is more attentive to the needs of their costomers.

Chris and Jake were absolutely amazing. Chris even pulled some of my weeds when he burried my wire. They were fast and friendly and very knowledgeable. They didnt try to over sell me but made sure my service was going to be sufficient. Wouldnt go anywhere else for my internet needs.

I had two useable options here in Casper, WY (at least where I live currently) Spectrum and Mountain West Technology. I had Spectrum for the 1st week. Everything seemed okay until I tried to stream. As per my usual experience with coax based internet the upload tanked as soon as load was put on the line. I originally avoided MWT because they utilize a point-to-point fixed wireless solution originating from a fiber source. The word wireless threw me off. Id also be taking an overall cut in speed but I had to try something else...BEST INTERNET IVE EVER HAD. PERIOD. If its an option where you live and youre sick of cable give them a go. My internet and streams have never been this smooth before. Dont let the differance in advertised speeds worry you, its a almost astonishingly consistent vs the dynamic and almost random speeds youll see on cable. Meaning my 100/20mbps plan always gives me a clean, low latency, insanely stable connection. We need this type of internet EVERYWHERE in the US. It seems like this makes so much more sense than running a new wired standard like fiber to each and every home directly. Weve ran enough cable over the world as it is.They company itself is just as amazing. Techs know what theyre doing and dont mind explaining things to you. Customer support responds quickly and are always polite and helpful. Even the pricing for what you end up getting is remarkable in my opinion. My final advice... if you have MWT as an option in your area, ditch Spectrum and their antiquated, troublesome coax and experience what modern home internet SHOULD feel like.

I’m not impressed so far. Three months into the service… and the internet is down… again. So not only do I have an eyesore of a dish mounted to the side of my house after being told the receiver was no bigger than an ipad and actually having to help the technician figure out why the internet wasn’t working after a fresh installation, I have unreliable and expensive internet. Before they did the install and before I made the commitment, I very specifically asked if my existing centrylink modem would work with the service and was told without delay yes it would as long as it has a wireless radio, which it does. As it turns out, this internet company uses DHCP whereas the CenturyLink modem uses PPPoE… which are not compatible. So no… this internet is most certainly not compatible with the existing CenturyLink modem even if it has a wireless radio. The installation is sloppy. And the new penetration through my wall into my basement was completely unnecessary. I have a cat-5 wire already installed from the exterior of my house to my already installed networking panel and all this company had to do was check which of the 7 wires at my networking panel was the one that came in from outside. All it takes is a $20 tool from Amazon but they opted for a new wire and new wall penetration in lieu of using existing infrastructure. Naturally they had some lame excuse as to why the existing cat-5 wire wouldn’t work… but that is all it is - an excuse.Buyer beware. The salesmen will blow smoke and as much smoke as needed to make the sale. Including a story about how “their internet” is rarely offline because of the continued investments they make into improving their towers and generators. Not sure how they define “rarely” but mine has been down about 15 times over the last 3 months.

I’ve had Mountain West for around 7 years. In all that time my internet has only been down two or three times. They’ve been very reliable and the few times I did have a problem they were quick to respond. Their customer service is exceptional. If you’re looking for a reliable, cost effective internet provider, you need Mountain West!

We have used Mountain West for years. Due to our location in town we were unable to aquire any other internet or cable providers. When Mountain West expanded their cell towers to include our area we were able to finally have internet. They have awesome customer service and we have never had a problem with our service. Their prices are perfect and beyond reasonable. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

Best internet Ive had, anywhere. And its rural! When my wife and I decided to start looking for a rural property our primary concern was internet. I work in IT and my wife works from home full-time and has an average of 6 hours per day of video conferences and customer training meetings. I also run servers from home where a reliable up-time and availability is important. To say internet speed and reliability is important to us is an understatement.I was very pleased to learn that Mountain West Internet was available at our new houseHowever, I was concerned about ping (response delay) due to it being a wireless connection. This effects lag in video calls and gaming dramatically.6-weeks after moving in and using Mountain West Internet and am beyond amazed! The speed is always higher than promised and I have never, even with Fiber Internet had such an incredible ping (response time). 3 ms! Are you KIDDING ME? My office in down-town Casper with fiber internet has more than twice that delay!Even more amazing is that if I ever have the need, I could upgrade to actual fiber-speed of 500/500 for 1/4th the cost of what we pay for actual fiber of the same speed in the office, and with half the delay!I cannot recommend highly enough. If you are in-range of one of their towers, regardless if youre in town or rural, there is no other logical choice for internet service. Spectrums ping is a joke. I think we averaged 41 ms, and their upload speed is half that of Mountain West, and Mountain West is cheaper! Why would you even consider anything else?

I have used MWT for almost 4 years. Their customer service has always been prompt and caring. When I upgraded my personal Wifi network and was having an issue, one of their technicians stayed late on a Friday and helped me set it up. I have had 2 service calls in that 4 year time and both were answered and fixed the same day. I highly recommend them.

We live just past the city limits and had their service for a little over a year. We lost service once because of weather and once because of an issue at the office. Not bad for the conditions around here. My family is a HUGE internet consumer and we were never throttled. At $40 a month, its a great value. I wish we could utilize them in town.

I’ve been trying to get service set up for 9 days. The first tech I talked to was very nice and helpful. He told me there would be someone here to do a site survey within 2 days. I called back 8 days later and the tech I talked to told me they were very busy and they would get to me when they could. I called back today to see if I could get an appointment with no results. I was very impressed at first but now I’m considering other options. I just don’t want to sit around another week or longer waiting to get hooked up. It seems like a lot of work on my part to give them my business.Update: Someone was sent out the day after I posted. The first I knew he was here was when I heard someone walking around on my roof. The guy never knocked or even tried to announce his presence. I got a call from their office about 20 minuets later saying they couldn’t get good service to my house because there was no line of sight, I can actually see their tower from my front porch it’s about half a mile away. The tech on the phone claimed it was probably a cell tower and that there are a lot of them out here. On my original call the guy I talked to told me where the tower was and I know it is the one I see. It is literally the only tower there. Anyway needless to say I do not have service with this company. I believe they have a good product but their customer service is horrible. I believe the owner has good intentions but he has some poor employees in the tech department.

Best rural consumer internet provider in natrona county. Great service. Honest and capable technical staff. Friendly office staff as well. Always updating their service speeds and competitive pricing. Only drawback is their support goes home at 7pm. Only had one time in 4years where that was a problem. And it was mostly a speed relate issue after upgrading to higher speeds and not an outage.

Use to be fairly decent years back, but it feels like the consistency of the connections are ridiculous, I cant even watch a 240p YouTube video, but on other days I can. Ive also had the unfortunate meeting of one of their technicians who claimed that with the constant repairs they need to make, they might just disconnect us. I dont know what happened to them, but they clearly lost their touch.

The internet was very good for the first few months but then it started to constantly drop to 0.01 mbps download to the point where voice calls and loading webpages is impossible. After multiple emails and phone calls to them over the past year there has been absolutely no improvement.Update: After finally getting a hold of them, they were finally able to improve the connection. It is now quite stable and works at all hours of the day.

Thanks to shady business practices and outright lies this company cost me $1200 a $350 router and a night in jail. Do NOT fall for their 2 week trial BS. They tell you that you will owe nothing if you cancel within 2 weeks BUT its bogus. I canceled after 3 days and they charged me anyways and turned me into collections. Their installer also hooked up a POE ( power over ethernet cable into my router and fried it which they claimed no responsibility for. Fast forward 3 years later I get arrested for a failure to appear in court because of the collections company that they sold my debt to and I didnt even know about it. AVOID this company and go with someone else for internet and phone.
