This is one of the most unprofessional places Ive ever been at in my life. I just register myself 2 weeks ago,my first appointment my psychiatrist was more interested in explaining her accomplishments then actually listening to my problems. They just want to get you in and get you out, give you this medicine and if that doesnt work oh well try another one. I wanted help and she wouldnt listen to me I felt like we were arguing instead of working together as a team to figure out whats wrong she is terrible at her job and should really think about finding another career.

Very expensive, 15 min quick inefficient visits. Inaccurate diagnosis and care.I saw Dr Uphadya for a few years while in college. At the time and to this day I was suffering from high functioning anxiety. When I finally figured out (on my own) that this was what was causing me so much mental stress - I told her and asked for specific medications that I wanted to try. She refused and was persistent in prescribing me anti depressants instead. I tried them for about 2-3 weeks and developed suicidal thoughts and would sit still in one spot for hours staring at a wall. I had never taken or needed anti depressants and have never been depressed or had these symptoms. My symptoms always pointed to high functioning anxiety, which I can now confirm 15 years later. I immediately got off of the medication properly and did not return to her office.

It started off great, but quickly turned horrible. Providers will ignore your requests, office staff ignores emails. I requested my medical records and they are wrong, and they are ignoring my inquiries about fixing them. They are horrible at doing anything in a timely manner. Staff is rude and belittling. I would be able to get over the rude staff that ignores its clients, if my medical records were accurate. HOW DO YOU MAKE A PSYCH PATIENTS RECORDS INCORRECT AND NOT FIX THEM? they are possibly the most important records for a new provider to receive, and having incorrect information is detrimental to mental health care.

I dont know why this practice has so many poor reviews. Honestly, at this practice Ive had my first ever good experience with talk therapy. I recommend Alpha Psych to any of my friends who are struggling with mental health.

Not competent or reliable. Ditched me. They earn two stars because the entire reception desk team is one of best I have ever seen. Especially Teri.

Dr. Martha was recommended to me by a coworker and she is as good as he said. I didnt think I was on depression treatment, but she helped me talk about things and I feel better. We made a plan. Im making changes and can see progress. She hears me and she helps me hear myself. I am much happy with their excellent service.

I accessed anxiety disorder treatment from Dr.Miah and she came highly recommended. She made me feel very comfortable from the very beginning and was able to identify and address my immediate issues very quickly. Her professionalism and expertise in emotional and behavioral issues helped me work on my problems in a healthy and productive manner. Highly Recommend!!

The positives: Kim, the receptionist, is delightful. Martha is also wonderful. It’s genuinely a pleasure to interact with either of them.The negatives: As others have noted, there is very little compassion at this practice from the providers. I don’t get the feeling they care about their patients on a human level. My appointments are rushed, with me spending about as much time in the waiting room as I do talking with my doctor. I believe the appointments are scheduled back-to-back with no buffer period. If you are late to your appointment even by a few minutes, you won’t be seen that day...but you will be billed regardless.Generally speaking, however, they are polite and professional (albeit cold). The major exception to this is Dr. Miah. She was the first doctor I saw at Alpha and every encounter we had left me in tears. She repeatedly cut me off mid-sentence, spoke over me, and insisted that she knew more about my body and lived experiences than I do. She’s judgmental and a poor listener. If there are other providers in-network with your insurance, please consider them instead if you can. Alpha is just not worth it.

I don’t understand how there can be so many negative reviews for this place. I have seen Dr. Upadhya for medication and Linda Bell for therapy for years, and it did a 180° of my life.The receptionist staff is super friendly and accommodating. I am remembered by name, and it always feels very personable and welcoming when I come in.Linda Bell has been wonderful for me. She has helped me work through a bunch of issues regarding depression, anxiety, anger, and other personal qualities to help me day by day. She is a great listener, has visual displays to help in understanding things she is explaining, has recommendations for outside reading, and has handouts she shares. She has helped me learn so much about myself, and how to deal with the things I’ve struggled with. She never makes me feel bad about myself, seems to genuinely care, is always understanding, and encourages me to think in addition to suggestions she gives. I always feel better when leaving her office.Dr. Upadhya found the right combination of medication for me, and since then, has been able to adjust it when needed, due to certain life circumstances that might come up. She is always friendly, a good listener, and gives advice in addition to the medication.This is my first time writing a review for a place, but I felt the need to, because it didn’t seem like they were getting the good credit they deserve! Alpha Psychiatry has been a great experience for me, and as I said, helped me turn my life around when I was at my worst.Go see Linda Bell and/or Dr. Upadhya! I highly recommend them both.

I’m writing my first ever review because what I read here helped me decide to call Dr.Savitha Upadhya of Alpha Psychiatric Associates. I wish I had done counseling with her sooner, but I guess I wasn’t ready. This first month of 2020 is better for me and my family than all of 2019, because of the changes I’ve made. I’m grateful, hopeful, and encouraged.

Dr. Miah is great. I really enjoy going to her. She is very friendly and knows what she is doing. Also, all her office staff is really friendly and accommodating.

My therapist recommended this place because I was in search for a new psychiatrist and needed meds. I wanted to be tested for ADHD so I could receive some meds to focus. After my testing, we had an assessment, where the psychologist Martha Wright laughed in my face after telling her I was molested by my cousins and their father separate times. This lady said, “They were sharing you huh?!” 😡 After my testing was complete, I was given an appt to a psychiatrist there, Dr. Nwankudu, to receive meds for my diagnosis. Our zoom started off fine then went left when she started asking the same questions the psychologist asked. With my mental illness, I hate repeating myself so then I asked if she would be providing me meds during this visit, she answered that, “No one ever asked me that at the beginning before.” I told her I was trying to get back to work and I needed some meds to keep me level and to be able to focus. She did not reply anymore but only type will I was talking which made me furious! I hung up and called back the next day and she ordered for me to not be seen by anyone in the office, which is ridiculous! People always say to people with mental illness get some help, then when we do this happens..which sometimes leads to negative thoughts and suicide. So, this practice...I Do Not Recommend!

I have been seeing Dr. Upadhya for years now and I just had a big life event of separating from my husband and moving to a different location. I called to see if she would refill my medication (antidepressant, nothing crazy) and she would not give me a medication extension even though I am now located 3 hours from her office and I have not yet found a new provider in my new area. These people dont care about you at all. Look elsewhere.

I Uber $24 each way to see Laura Bach. She has the best care plan for me. She is extremely knowledgeable about all areas of psychiatry and medicines. Ive seen her for seven years now and she has yet to steer me wrong. I highly recommend her services and wonderful individual care.

My experiences with Alpha Psychiatric Associates have always been pleasant and efficient.The office staff is nice and prompt with returning most calls and scheduling appointments. I particularly like that I can schedule appointments online and confirm them by text message. The general office location and decor is comforting and relaxing, without feeling clinical.Ive been seeing Dr. Miah for over seven years now and followed her to this practice. I highly recommend her. She and her office staff have helped me in numerous occasions, be it wrangling appointment dates or trying to communicate insurance issues and prior authorizations.I definitely feel like this office and its staff are ready to go to bat for patients.

I was assigned to a psychiatrist first who gets minimal background (less than 10 minutes), and wants to assign a prescription. Psychologist is friendly and compassionate, but ended our last session (third) saying they didnt know how they could help me. This does not inspire confidence.Back to the psychiatrist, who ends the session saying all they can do is a prescription, then cuts me off midsentence explaining why that concerns me to tell me my time is up. Zero compassion. I cancelled my fourth appointment with the psychologist on the spot.I would have stayed if I believed they wanted to help me and knew how, but I cant say I believe either based on my experience. If youre looking to get a new prescription quickly, though, this might be a good fit. It doesnt work for me, as I believe medication should be undertaken as a last step after mitigating other sources of stress.

Worth noting that these are psychiatrists, not psychologists. If you need ongoing talk therapy, go to a psychologist....if you need medication for the rest of your life, go to a psychiatrist.Initially my experiences were mostly positive, although they can come off cold if you are looking for someone to talk to at length. In my experience, psychiatrist visits are often < 15 mins in duration and involve filling out a form, weight, blood pressure, and review of any labs, after which agreement for next visit, prescription renewal, and any future labs are given and you are outta there. For medication maintenance, they are knowledgeable not only about the standard medications, but also the new medications on the block.UPDATE: Since my original review, I have run into several issues with the provider. Both were issues with contact with main office. I have found that they are unreliable with both responding to attempts to contact them as well as their attempt to contact me. For transparency, I was recently dropped by them partially due to the latter issue where they claimed to have contacted me several times but my phone records and emails show that they did not. They are claiming I did not comply with a unwritten treatment plan that I was unaware of. At this point, I have no desire to go back and will be seeking treatment elsewhere.

I would give 0 stars if I could. This practice is awful. If you want to be laughed at and belittled for things you have gone through this is the place. They will try to push medications on you that you repeatedly tell them no you do not agree with it and will also change your medication dosages without telling you and when you call for understanding you will get nothing but attitude and no one tries to help you resolve any issues. I had the flu and had to reschedule my appointment and was left with no meds and got an attitude when I asked if she can give meds to make it to my appointment being it was over a week away and I was out. Terrible terrible patient care. Run far away from this place. Ada is a real wack job.

My sister had a good experience by visiting Alpha Psychiatry in Cary. The atmosphere is very calm and quiet. After her delivery, she had postpartum depression and my friend recommended Dr. Savitha Upadhya. She was very understanding and engages with us to the level which we are comfortable. I am very much happy with their excellent service.

I highly recommend Alpha Psychiatric associates for any mental health-related problems. Their incredible services with a very good support system felt like my home. Now I feel better and I recommend Dr. Rohima Miah for any depression treatment.

Ada is caring, unique and a great listener.She is working diligently to find the ideal meds for me.Very pleased.

My daughter was seen by Dr. Miah for the first and last time. She was rude and my daughter left in tears.

Laura Bach is amazingly kind and very sweet. Ive always felt she was 100% on my side during my recent work stress-related issues. From the very first day she was supportive and willing to help me in whatever way she could. I dont normally call or text my medical providers out of courtesy, but once I did have an issue that required immediate attention and I had to call Laura on her cellphone. She sent me a text within 5 minutes asking how she could help and when she got to work, she resolved my problem. Nice to know that someone cares like this.

I am happy with the services of Alpha Psychiatry because I had visited other psychiatric centers and here they have a unique and specialized approach for their treatment. I am sure that Alpha is having the best psychiatrists in Cary.

I have no words for how terrible my experience was there, every bad review you read is true. there are physiatrists out there that actually do their job, go to them and run far away fromthis place.

Im appalled at what just happened. I was asked to take an online survey and based on that was diagnosed. I have doubted the diagnosis from the start, but decided to try the medication anyways. Im not a doctor, so I decided to try and trust mine.During my latest session I brought up my doubt about my diagnosis with Dr. Miah, and in response was referred to someone else.In short, believe all the reviews that tell you that Dr. Miah will not listen to you. Trust former patients when they say that you will be treated condescendingly. It is her way or the highway. Dr. Miah will not give you the common courtesy of being heard.I understand that her patients are not doctors, but my god, we are people with legitimate concerns who have the right to question! The fact that Dr. Miah is so defensive over something as simple as asking for validation of a diagnosis screams incompetence.Do with this review what you will.

Audrey Wisner wanted to reduce my medication for ADHD. I told her that if her actions cause me to lose my high-paying job then Ill go somewhere else. She decided to make that decision for me.I lived in Texas for six years, and no one treated me like that. Only in NC have people treated me so poorly.

Dr. Miah needs to choose a different profession. She constantly talked down to me and treated me like I was an idiot and incapable of making decisions myself because I needed psychiatric treatment. At one point, she wanted to put me on another medication and I expressed some concerns about it because I heard it had some serious side effects and I wanted to do some research before I agreed to anything and she dismissed me by saying that it was the most natural thing I could put in my body (I mean, arsenic is also naturally occurring and Im not about to ingest a gallon of it). At our last appointment, she told me I shouldnt be so depressed because my life wasnt nearly as hard as hers was when she was my age (Great news! Chemical imbalances no longer exist apparently! Also your feelings are invalid because someone out there has it worse! Only the person with the worst life in the world is allowed to be depressed). After our session ended, I got in my car and started sobbing because I felt so terrible and worthless. I never went back.Dr. Miah does more harm than good and should be barred from practicing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. YOU WILL LEAVE WORSE THAN WHEN YOU STARTED.

Called to check on appt. in February 2019. Admin. told me there was nothing scheduled gor me or my daughter. I asked her to double check which she did. Went in April 26 2019 was charged for February no show. Was told everyone gets a text to inform of a cancelled appt charge. I checked messages nothing fir that date. What a rip off!This is very poor customer setvice. Very disappointed. Shame on you!

Dr Miah has helped me tremendously and I recommend her to anyone who wants a provider that is going to be straight forward and honest.

Dr. Miah is a wonderful psychiatrist.When youre choosing doctors for your mental health, its important to find someone whose style works for you. After all, in a lot of cases, youre seeking therapy to learn to live easier with your conditions, not fix them. The goal is to feel okay again - beware anybody who wants to help you get back to normal because you may have different ideas of what normal is.Dr. Miah understands, patiently listens, and engages with you at the level that youre most comfortable with. I had been given meds prior to coming to Alpha Psychiatric that were practically the OPPOSITE of what I needed. Dr. Miah was able to correctly interpret the things I said to her into a sensible diagnosis, which translated into the right treatment plan for my problem. Thanks to her, I feel much better - Im not fixed and never will be, but Im definitely closer to okay... and what more can you really ask for?

Unhappy. I arrived within 10 min window of scheduled appointment and made pit stop at the bathroom so that my toddler could relieve herself & spent a reasonable amount of time in the bathroom; I was within 15 min window overall. Dr. Upadhyay appeared bothered with my toddler request to use the bathroom facility and informed me that she was going to bill my insurance company for full session. She spent fifteen minutes asking rushed questions, handed me a sheet of paper and sent me to the front desk in a hurry. I didnt have a clear understanding of what happened during the session and felt like I was inconveniencing her by just being there. I left he office feeling worse than when I arrived. I ran a google search and found a different provider that could see me via webcam instead & I immediately switched same day. The new provider actually took the time to listen to me and asked in debt questions and actually made me feel heard. That said, I dont recommend this office and am happy not to have to return.

I wish I could rate Dr. Miah with 0/NO stars. Dr. Miah is the worse doctor I have ever met. She has no compassion and should not be a psychiatrist. I met with her twice; one for a session and second time was to fill out a form for my job. She has a bad habit of cutting me off while I am talking and talking over me, as if what I had to say was not important. What really pissed me off was the fact she enclosed my personal situation out loud in front of the receptionist while arguing with me in the lobby. Very unprofessional and rude do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY...

I wish I could give them 0 stars. Savitha Upadhya was rude and completely unprofessional. She lacked compassion and barely cared to listen to what i had to say. She kept trying to peddle an insane amount of medication on me. so unnecessary. I ran out of there as soon as i could. they are a mess.

Zero stars should be an option. Ive had issues throughout the years with Dr. Miah contacting my pharmacy back about refills, leaving me to scramble for a solution, but this just tops it all.Im on a medication called Venlafaxine, which is for my anxiety but causes severe withdrawals when stopped abruptly. I recently called in to get my prescription refilled and after a few days of not hearing back, I call my pharmacy to find out that Dr. Miah hasnt returned their call. So I call the office to ask whats up. They tell me shes out of the office until next week and basically that Im SOL. They felt NO need to contact me to inform me that my doctor was out of the office for ANOTHER WEEK and work with me on a solution.So I call them and tell them that I need an appointment with someone else (because a week without my medication in the past has caused me hallucinations) and they schedule me for an 8:30am appointment that week with another doctor.So I get up and drive to their office at 8am, sit in the waiting room for 15 minutes, and am then told theyll need to reschedule. I hadnt seen my doctor in a year, when it is normally every 6 months. However, thats because SHE did not request that I come in after 6 months when I asked for a refill. So I try to explain again the MAJOR problem with me not having my medication for a week, and the receptionist looks at me and just says, Sorry.I am outraged at their blatant lack of caring for their patients well being and complete disrespect and poor organization. Now I am having to scramble to find a doctor who will actually help me, instead of one who is only here to make money.

First time going to a psychiatrist, and it was aweful. She wouldnt let me speak, cut me off when I was trying to give her quick outline of why I was there. Showed her my medical history, because there are certain medications I cant take because I would have a reaction. She didnt even look at them. It was only 5 pages or less. She just dismissed me and anything I had to say. The WORST part was she prescribed a medication that would give me blood clots!!!!!! After I tried to show her my medical records and what I cant take!!!!! Total diregard for my well being. If I had not read about the medication she prescribed me beforing taking it, I WOULD PROBABLY BE DEAD RIGHT NOW!!!! I wasted money on a doctor that I thought might help me with my anxiety!!!! She should NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE A DOCTOR AND PRESCRIBE MEDICATION!!!! ALL SHE WANTS IS TO GET PAID$$$$ !!!! TOTAL DISREGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE!!!!
