My ex-wife to be and I worked with several counselors for years before finishing up with Dr. Mathews. I can honestly say he was the worst of the bunch. Looking back, his level of indifference was only matched by his capacity to grandstand. While we are all ultimately solely accountable for our success or failure his methodology only alienated us from each other even further. Truthfully, if you are to this point in your marriage you are likely better off seeking individual counseling paired with competent legal advice. Regardless, I cannot recommend Dr. Mathews for counseling in any form. You will find the best counselors do not have a PhD or MD.

I can only attest to my meetings with my therapist (Michael). He has been incredible. He is so helpful to me and is a man of great character. My interactions with the staff at Matthews Counseling have been consistently and thoroughly kind. I would give Matthews Counseling my highest recommendation.

Adam is a gifted and knowledgeable therapist - but hes also just a delightful person. Hes down to earth and easy to talk to - thats what you want in a therapist, right? I often times will refer clients to Adam and they always report back that they feel very comfortable and in good hands with Adam.

Dr. Adam Mathews is a fine and fair clinician. I refer to him and his clinic frequently for his expertise in couples and compassion for people. He is highly trained as a couples counselor/ marital therapist in Emotionally Focused Therapy as well as Gottman therapy. Hes a professor, podcaster giving unfailingly of himself to students and couples who desperately need his message.

I recommend this practice to people regularly. The office is lovely. The therapists are well trained, genuine, and caringl. They do good work here!
