Older room and more expensive than its newer counterpart. Very loud bathroom fan. No extra blanket or pillow. Staff was ok. Not extra friendly. Very thin toilet paper. Room was clean. Was charged for items we did not get from the commissary. Will not stay here again although we try to remain loyal to Marriott.

The staff were fantastic. Its located in an office park so its nice and quiet. The hotel itself is showing some signs of wear. However everything in my room was functional and clean.

Ok, this place is difficult to review.The good: Its clean. Staff is friendly. Great long term rates (waiting to moving into new home). And they allow pets!The bad: rampant theft from cars. Our car was broken into a week ago. I stopped a thief last night mid- theft at 3am.The hotel hangs signs saying theyre not responsible...blah blah blah. No cameras in lot. Hotel afraid of being responsible. The thief isnt particular either. He stole 2 pairs of really cheap sunglasses and 2 pair of prescription glasses(not even sunglasses!) from our car. We had nothing of real value in car; we know better. But who steals prescription glasses?I think the hotel should put out a few cameras in lot. AND warn customers about theft more strongly. Its just a matter of time till someone is hurt...

Positive: Very nice and clean room. Didnt do a lot of interaction with the staff but all were very nice and professional. My location of my room with easy access to an outside door and parking. Negative: The Healthy Egg Sandwich for breakfast was horrible tasting to me. Dont recall if it was really an egg or something else. A larger TV would be nice.

I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again. Especially during these times, you want to feel clean and safe, I didn’t feel this here and couldn’t wait to leave and shower. We found dried blood on our bed sheets, they didn’t look washed, the carpets were gross, not just in our room but the hallways and elevators too. It Didn’t look like they ever vacuumed or mopped. Bed was hard as a rock. None of the ice machines worked. Huge disappointment.

For being a Marriott is not an expensive hotel but not the luxury of the brand.Our room a king bed and a sofa sleeper was small.Service was good, the pool was never crowded even on labor day weekend.On the patio furniture around the pool was with some webspiders.One interesting detail, the lid for the coffee cup didnt match.Furniture is cheap needs to be replaced.Great location near the airport, 7 minutes from the beach and plenty of restaurants less than a mile away.

The hotel is very clean and comfortable with well appointed rooms, unfortunately no hot water in the shower 2 mornings in a row made my stay an uncomfortable experience.

Check out is at 12pm But housekeeping goes door to door at 9:45am saying housekeeping (with no cart) or asking what time they are leaving

No breakfast included, no microwave in your room, old old old hotel that when you walk in is so depressing and hot tub is closed and pool is cold. They have one microwave to share for the whole hotel so I had to wait for the microwave to become available. I had to check out earliar actually this is awful even the most horrible motels I checked into that had at least a microwave inside.

Only positive thing I have to say about this hotel, is the staff. They were friendly and welcoming. However the hotel itself need see serious serious work. My father-in-law booked this room for us as a gift. Even his Platinum status with Marriott wasnt enough to get us a decent room. Water dripping from the ceiling from AC unit above, smelled like mold. Furniture was falling apart, pillows were like mash potatoes. We heard other people when we were checking in complaining about inadequacies in there rooms. I would never stay there again. Stay away

I stayed here three nights while I settled into my apartment after a cross country move with my standard poodle. I just want to give a shout out to the staff downstairs especially the gentleman who helped me on several occasions. I think the staff at this Marriott having stayed at several, are absolutely outstanding given the pandemic. This hotel was a nice landing pad for me after a stressful time. Thank you!!

Look I know covid hit everyone hard but this hotel has problems such as ..old very old decor and furniture . I mean my God the couch looks out of 1992 and is dirty, no microwave in room, old carpeting and walls when you light the room up its orange due to its design just so tacky and not worth the value but I must admit the parking lot is huge and plenty of space for an rv but everything else is a true dump in this property ..dont just listen to my review go and see

Very comfortable stay. Jennifer from the front desk was exceptional great with my client, Maurice. They were accommodating when Maurice needed to make some changes with his reservation. We are happy to announce that this Marriott on Owens Avenue is particularly a great place to stay.

Place is really nice, but with the updating they already have done to the hotel. They should really have done updating on the rooms too.Staff have been extremely friendly and helpful.

Extra star for the staff. They were welcoming and very friendly. The property has a renovated lobby which is really nice. Unfortunately, the music is really loud if you were to work in the common area. They have Starbucks coffee only at certain hours. Im used to having a large thermos at the entrance of other Marriott properties of coffee at all times. This one does not. It also does not serve complimentary breakfast. Other reviews talk about the great breakfast. You may purchase goods from the cafe during their limited hours. The rooms are old. The soap dish and the bath insert itself were peeling off of the wall as shown in the pics. The wallpaper in the room itself was splitting in 2 different areas. The sink has smaller glass shelves on both sides. The area is very tight and I smashed my elbow on the right side twice while brushing my teeth (Im right handed). My colleague who stayed in a different room mentioned the same discomfort. The area is not walkable if you dont have a car. But, delivery services are quick. I know these are all somewhat smaller things. Im comparing to what Ive come to expect from the Marriott brand. The people are all this location has to offer.

I just stayed at the Carlsbad Courtyard location for 6 days. The staff was over-the-top friendly and professional. The entire hotel was very clean and well kept. Our room was clean, spacious and a great deal for the price. The pool was sparkling clean, a good size with a perfect temperature. I saw staff cleaning inside and outside on a daily basis. My bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked perfectly. They offer a great variety of breakfast food and the staff is very friendly. We ate dinner there 4 nights, the food was incredible and the carrot cake was fantastic. I highly recommend this location for conferences (which I attended during my stay) and/or a family vacation spot. Also, I discovered this location is minutes away from an outlet mall, with dozens of stores and restaurants.

Negative: The room that I was in (123) was very outdated and small.if you wanted to microwave something, you had to go to the front desk and use the microwave located in the snack shop. Place is in a nice area. Need to update rooms

Dated rooms after you pass the updated lobby. The bathrooms are in need of both remodel and layout. I am a loyal Marriott customer and have a bias for forgiveness but this property is in need of improvements. Bathroom caulking has signs of black mold. The vanity is so narrow you hit your arms on the shelves (see the picture they actually hang over the mirror). We tried the sweets off the menu and the salted chocolate chip cookies were cold after they cooked them and the carrot cake was 2 out of 5 stars.The good: dedicated parking for loyalty status members. The hot tub was hit and towels were plentiful around the pool.Well situated for the corporate clients around the neighborhood, but disappointing facility overall.

First time staying here and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were incredibly polite, they even allowed us to check in a tad early. The rooms were clean and had a fresh feel, no stagnant air flow. The Bistro Bar provides in room and lounge eats or drinks. I had the Chicken Goddess BLT it was a delightful meal. I give a big thanks and two thumbs up for this location...I will definitely be returning.

This hotel has been updated and has an excellent staff of housekeepers, cashiers, and front desk associates. I didnt find one piece of hair in my room upon arrival, the AC was easy to function, the window opened a little bit for fresh air, and the location was lovely. I could look out my window and see the hills (beyond the parked cars). The check in process was easy and I noticed lots of groups or large families stayed here. The breakfast sandwiches at the bistro were lovely! They were artfully designed and so good!

Jacuzzi is very warm and I love it, but Ive heard some complaints about that. The included shuttle is convenient and my family and I had a great time going to and from Legoland Thanks to this service.

Stayed here recently and needed to use the lobby with a couple of colleagues who were in town for the day. The lobby is fairly quiet during the day and was great for our impromptu meeting. The rooms are quiet and well laid out. The front desk person was able to make me a fantastic Americano mid-afternoon when the cafe was closed. Great experience!

Great hotel, location, amenities. The staff were mostly kind and courteous. They definitely need more recycling bins, and to get rid of the small shampoo bottles. The lobby was great as far as decor and amenities, but the rooms lacked those characteristics.

Cynthia, the person at the front desk, was phenomenal. She attended to my check-in flawlessly. She greeted me every time I passed the front desk. She introduced me to other employees from housekeeping and the bistro. Tthis last action, introducing me to other employees, was unusual, yet so important because from the guest’s perspective (mine), it demonstrated her sincere respect for the team. I design and facilitate workshops on leadership; Cynthia is an example of servant leadership at its best. So impressive!

I spent 6 nights at the Courtyard San Diego Carlsbad with my wife and kids (6 and 4 years old) and we enjoyed staying here, since staff is kind and helpful and the hotel has great location, very close to Legoland and conveniently close to visit San Diego (Seaworld, Zoo, etc.), and Disneyland at Anaheim. The only thing I missed was having in-room safeboxes and that the pool water was quite cold, although the jacuzzi was great! We think it was a great choice staying here!

My husband and I were meeting with family, and were weary travelers after a long drive from up north. After googling a few local hotels, and were SO glad we ended up staying there. Just great value for what you pay for. Comfortable bed, great AC, and hot shower made us feel new again. New time we’re in town I’m definitely staying here again.

Family friendly staff. We felt comfortable each time we stayed there. Very convenient to get to Legoland. Close by to shopping area. I only suggest they create a list of restaurants that deliver.

A marvelous, updated Marriott experience, polished appropriately for L.A. guests. Staff uniformly going the extra mile, great food and killer martinis available in a fairly relaxed set of venues. Valet parking guy initially told me No valet parking available but that was quickly remedied. All told, a great stay in an electronically modern room with a super comfy bed in an environment that both relaxed and energized. Wish I had occasion to stay here more often.

I stay at the Courtyard San Diego Carlsbad almost every time I come to town. The Courtyard team greets me by name and mentions past trips or ask about something personal each time. Property is convenient for food and fun.

A little bit far from San Diego (about 30 min) but not bad. Free parking. Booked with my SPG points. Staff are all very nice. Didn’t like the breakfast at the Starbucks inside the hotel. Love the purple tree so much, who knows its name?

This was a great stop for our last night in Carlsbad. We were traveling with 2 young grandchildren and the king suite was just perfect for us. Was able to enjoy the very clean pool in the morning before departing. Would highly recommend.

We stayed the Courtyard San Diego Carlsbad/McClellan-Palomar Airport because the room rate was very reasonable. Although the hotel lobby area is very nicely decorated modern, the rest of the hotel (esp the room & bathroom) needs to be updated. Its very dated, kinda reminds me of the 70s era. The complimentary shuttle service to Legoland was great. Our driver, James was very friendly and he drops you off closer to the entrance than the other hotel weve previously stayed in. Overall, I thought the hotel was just ok. It was definitely worth what we paid.

I had a last minute business trip resulting in a 2 1/2 hour drive to the Courtyard from Los Angeles at 8 p.m. Not only did the staff anticipate all of my needs, including toiletries, but they were also able to give me peace of mind and an encouraging word upon arrival. Clean rooms, great food, and excellent internet were icing on top of a great stay. The Courtyard offered flexible check out when I found myself delayed with work the next day. Will recommend to all of my colleagues and anyone looking for a great place to stay.

Ive stayed here several times over a couple of decades and whilst it may seem boring to keep using the same hotel, it is reliably good. The staff are always welcoming and willing to help sort any problem should there be one (rare). The bistro provides an adequate breakfast and evening service with tasty options. The rooms are quiet (except perhaps for excited children visiting the nearby Legoland) but theyre usually asleep early. The patio and pool area is great for unwinding.

The guest service is great, I had a package delivered to the hotel and they called right away when it arrived. They provide a shuttle to Lego Land, which took us at the time of our choosing. And when we came back from the park there were chocolate chip cookies and ice was for the taking in the lobby. The rooms are spacious and mine had a fun little coffee maker in it. The coffee they provided was enough for 1 cup of regular and 1 cup of decaf. The bed is great, smelled fresh and was made up nicely by room service. Overall my stay was very nice and would love to come again.

The hotel worked out great. Bed was comfortable, close to LEGOland where we were going, and nice pool. There was even enough room to park our car trailer. Would definitely recommend it.

2 thumbs up for the assistant manager Alicia at this hotel who made our stay easy and enjoyable. We requested a late check out until 2pm and she was able to accommodate it without problems. We understand if it was on a busy day, our request may not be accepted. However, we believe well be explained and treated with courtesy, not being rude like other managers weve encounter. Alicia is super courtesy and provides outstanding customer service. Thank you for help making our stay stress free!

I had a wonderful three-night stay at this hotel for a meeting that was held there. The hotel is a great size - not too large and overwhelming, but not too small and cramped. The dining area and public sitting area were cozy and convenient. My room was quiet, clean, and nicely arranged. There is a fridge in the room. The internet connection was very good. I had no problems connecting or with slow downloads. The rooms and lobby area are updated and clean. I had rented a car and the hotel is about 5 minutes from a ton of eateries and a Trader Joes, so you have easy access to food. It was easy to find.

Cynthia was so kind with my check in and out. Excellent customer service! Unfortunately this Marriot location is old. The first floor room I initially was in I had to move from because it had a weird smell that was giving me a headache. I would suggest a 2nd or 3rd floor room. Employees were absolutely kind.

Kind and professional service. Clean and well equipped rooms. The single best amenity in this hotel are the included breakfast options. Unlike most hotels where you get a mediocre buffet here you get all items in the menu and they are delicious! Being a vegetarian I found tons of great options and never had the same dish twice in a visit.

Horrible, horrible way they treat people. I had a reservation for tonight, called them this morning and went in there before going to Legoland to check on my room. I was told my room wasn’t ready, but I should be able to check in early, about noon. I let the front desk know it would probably be late and I was told, no problem, she typed notes on my reservation that I’ll be there after our activities. Me and my tired 5 year old nephew get there tired and ready for bed. It is after 10pm. I’m told there was an issue with my room and they had to book me somewhere else. Not down the street where there was another Marriott property, but one 20 minutes away in the middle of nowhere, in a room that was not the one I had paid for. I also selected the hotel I did for the proximity to where we were.

Rooms were nice, I wish the floors were cleaner. The lobby and pool areas were great. Breakfast was good but took a little while to bring out. Breakfast sandwich was great and took 10 minutes to come out, I then ordered toast and it took 30 minutes to come out and the staff was not very busy during this time. Hotel staff was courteous and quick when I requested extra towels and a set of dinner utensils to my room. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay.

Very nice stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The Bistro has a limited menu but that is not the issue. The issue is the limited hours that the Bristol is open.

Very outdated, pull outs need new mattress, havent had a squeaky and bumpy pull out since the 90s. Check in was rude, prices should be lower with the lack of amenities.

This location of Courtyard by Marriott overbooked and failed to honor my prepaid booking. The staff member was incompetent at handling the situation and was impossible to understand. ...Simply mumbled. He supposedly booked me at another hotel, but in fact the other hotel only had a name on a post-it. Their front desk was closed. Courtyard said they would reimburse me for the ride share to the other hotel and that the other hotel was coverage. This was total BS. Andres/Andy wasted my time and made a bad situation worse. Managers Garrett Brooks, Stephen Hopkins, need to go back to hospitality school. I would recommend booking elsewhere. I refunded the complete reservation and booked at a different hotel after wasting 2 hours between 12am - 2am.

I found the hotel to be perfectly located next to the Palomar Airport. The lobby and amenities were excellent. The room was clean and neat. Its a pricier hotel, but very comfortable and of fair value. I recommend staying at this establishment. I understand that ownership has recently changed, but do not know how or if this will effect quality.

Had a great stay after a long day at Lego land. Room was clean, good size, and updated for a family of 3. This was out first marriott and will use Marriott again in the future. The front desk was very helpful. Had fresh baked cookies upon arrival and gave me a list of restaurants in the area with addresses and directions. Just wish they had a mini fridge but other than that we had a great stay.

Other than the very unpleasant humid smell in the room ( eventually we just got used to it) i really enjoyed our stay. We love courtyard by Marriott. It’s perfectly located by Legoland which was a destination for us and only 35 min from Seaworld! Beds are comfy, rooms are great size and the pool is the place to be at night! Many families enjoyed that designated outdoor space.

This hotel is decent. It suited our needs for a few nights. I wouldn’t stay here if I didn’t have a vehicle, not much nearby. The price is average but I would’ve rather spent a little bit more and been a bit closer to things. The pool area seemed nice although we didn’t use it. The only other thing was the room seemed humid/stuffy which made it a bit uncomfortable when we were sleeping.
