Dr. Castro and all of the staff we talked to were so friendly, helpful, and understanding. Our first time here as first-time pet owners, I was a little nervous about what the curbside experience would be like but everything went super smoothly. You can tell everyone here knows what they’re doing and does it well.

They were able to get my dogs in for an emergency visit the same day. Treated both the dogs, and myself like old friends. Explained what was going to happen and, gave me options as to treatment Will go back, for sure.

I CANNOT say enough about the compassion the staff showed me and my fur baby as he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Even when I had to take him to the clinic at 2 a.m because he couldnt breathe, Dr. Castro was amazing & kind. Dr. Mills treated him as well and is so super sweet & took the time to explain everything that was going on. These 2 ladies truly love caring for animals and are an asset to veterinary medicine. Although Covid has made it a bit difficult for the clinic, the staff works diligently in being as accommodating and available as possible. I feel as though the doctors are genuinely concerned with my animals and professional while working under the new procedures.

The quality of care from this vet is very good and professional. I have taken my dog and two cats on different occasions and each experience has been tremendous. I sincerely appreciate that customers receive an itemized list of services in the receipt.During my most recent experience, I had arrived early and called the office to inform them of my arrival. It happened to be a few minutes before the office opened and no one took my call, which is understandable. The office also listed a text line to inform them of arrival. Apparently this service is turned on and off and so no one responded to the text as it seemed to be turned off during my visit. This did delay the check in time for my pets until I called the office once again. Aside from the text line issue, my experience with this vet office has been amazing. The staff is very courteous and professional and I will certainly continue using their services for my pets.

Had an medical emergency with one of our dogs and they got him in immediately. Came out to my car due to covid, within 5 minutes to let me know what was wrong and that he required surgery. While Dr. MILLS had him in surgery she called to get permission to neuter, being that was best for the situation at hand. I greatly appreciated that. She even called as soon as she was done with surgery, really shows how much she cares. Had our Ace back home that afternoon and he is healing up great.Had another emergency with Mr. Ace, he was playing on the bed and jumped for his toy and fell off and unfortunately broke his tibia. Dr. Mills and the entire team there is so great! Ace is casted and at home now healing up. This is my go to place for anything to do with my fur babies

The professional staff at Carlsbad Animal Clinic in Carlsbad New Mexico had every intention of making my wife and I wait to get our chihuahua seen with a broken leg so non emergency clients can be seen first. I would not give the staff at Carlsbad Animal Clinic money even if they were starving! Dont even deserve one star

I have been using Carlsbad Animal Clinic services for years. They have been very good to me and my dog. Both vets, Dr. Castro and Dr. Mills, are always understanding and compassionate when get I anxious and perhaps even neurotic about my dog when he has a problem after hours. The office staff is also great. I adore Sheila. The techs are super with my dog. They always handle him beautifully. Paw Plans are worth every penny if you have a relatively healthy dog. I had to have my dogs nails trimmed and his anal glands expressed on this last visit. Due to Covid, you have to park, call and tell them what spot youre in, and they will come out and get your pet. We didnt have to wait too long and all went smoothly.Update:My Grandmother passed away recently and we adopted her chihuahua. Her nails got ridiculously long and Sheila found away to squeeze me in so that my little girl would not have to suffer until her appointment. It’s little things like that I appreciate about this vet and why I continue to be a loyal patron.

My teacup chihuahua broke her leg clean in half and this most disgusting place. Said they would try to work her in but they had other appointments! We waited an hour with her howling in the car and finally got so mad we went to the BEST Vet clinic ( la cueva)However during our hour wait my husband ran up to every employee begging for them to see her! One lady even walked clear around the building so he wouldnt approach her she acted like she was scared!Worst Vet Clinic in the world!

My little Tia wasnt herself and eating or drinking! I called and got her in the next day. She had a UT infection. They are always so friendly and great with their patients. I drive an extra 45 minutes for their love for my little furbaby!

Called because my dog was dying, the machine told me the emergency examination would be 150. When I got on the phone with the guy he told me I would have to pay 500 for the emergency visit. My dog died while I was on the phone with him..

The ladies at Carlsbad animal clinic are amazing people. They’ve been our family vet for 10 years +. They have always been friendly always happy to answer any questions and help in anyway they can. Also all my animals love them even the family cats that are usually a bit skittish around other people love the vets here at Carlsbad animal clinic. I highly recommend them for any veterinary needs.

I had a little lost chihuahua cross my path this morning here at my home. I took it over to Carlsbad Animal Clinic this morning and they were able to positively confirm a microchip and contact the owners. We really appreciate everything that they helped us with today.

Trista Mills was very knowledgeable and friendly however I was charged an additional office visit for having an exotic pet that was a rat it seemed a little excessively high for the office visit

They really care a lot about your beloved fur babies They have so much heart for them, and yet they are still professional about their business!

They do a great job with my 90lb extremely stubborn boxer. Even through Covid where we are exchanging in the parking lot, all precautions are taken. Prices are very reasonable.

It was unfortunate that I could not go into the clinic with my puppy to get her shots and wellness exam. However, the tech that assisted me was friendly, professional and thorough and she handled my little gently. Overall, considering all the restrictions, the staff is doing a wonderful job.

Absolutely love the staff! Have to take both my girls in on emergency (one dog attack, the other ingested a can of tobacco) and they were so understanding and patient with my sobbing. They explained everything to me, made sure my dogs were comfortable, and kept me up to date while I was at work. Since then Ive decided to start their check-ups and shots through this clinic and theyre always prompt and its obvious they all love animals. The girls actually ENJOY going to the drs!

I had a cat that was in critical condition. This was after hours, I called and the person told me that if the animal had not been seen by their doctor before, they would not see my animal even if it was critical. This made me ill, the person then told me to drive to Artesia because their vet would see me and it would be cheaper! What has our world come to where a person has to drive to another town to help an animal because the local vet will not help!!!

Dr. Castro is very caring and my dogs love her. I appreciate getting in to see her at my scheduled appointment time.

We take our two cats go to the Carlsbad Animal Clinic to get their shots, examinations. The doctor and staff care for the the animals (Cats/Dogs) that comes through the doors as if it was their pet. Dr Castro and the staff are very helpful with all of our pets, especially with our dog with a rare neurologic condition that causes chronic respiratory issues. They go out of there way to accommodate her special needs.

A cat came into my yard that had been hit by a car. Its in really poor condition. I dont know who the cat belongs to. I know its not the doctors responsibility to care for the animal on his day off, but one has to question his compassion. Some people do it for the love of pets, some just do it for the money. Im not saying hes a bad vet, just that hes definitely no hero.

If i could give less than 1 star i would! Dr. Brody is a joke! My family has used this clinic for YEARS but since they have new staff, the clinic is going downhill severely! Sadly, today we went to take our ur old cat to be put down. Hes an old cat and is SUFFERING and in pain. Our animals are family, we wouldnt have him put down for no reason! The unprofessionalism that DR. BRODY showed is appalling and disgusting!!The secretary at the front helped my dad and gave him information for another vet. For that we are so grateful! Nobody wants to see their fur baby suffering. We understand that not everyone at the clinic is bad, but we will NOT be going back as long as Dr. Brody is there!!Ill gladly post details of what was said if anyone cares to know.

We were visiting Carlsbad from Dallas when one of our dogs got sick. Dr Weldon and her tech were great to meet us at the clinic for a Saturday afternoon emergency visit! They were very professional and helpful in determining what was going on and quickly got Macy on a treatment plan to get her back up and going again. Being away from home is stressful when somebody gets sick but Dr Weldon and her team were there to help. She even followed up the next day to see how she was doing. Highly recommended! My dog got attacked by pit bulls and even though they couldn’t save him one of the workers offered to pay for the bill

I scheduled an appointment for my dogs rabies shot. She had her initial puppy exam and 1st set of booster shots there. Her 2nd set of boosters was given at home. While on the phone I informed them of this. They schedule the appointment and said it was fine and that she would be given her rabies shot during a break in surgery for another animal. When I got there for the appointment they said that they would not be giving her the rabies shot and that she would need to get her 2nd examination in a 6 month period as well as get the puppy boosters that we had given her. Maybe they have some ridiculous policy about this but why make the appointment in the first place? Needless to say, Im now headed to a vet that doesnt want to charge me for unnecessary things and wont waste my time.

Greg was uber-pleasant, gave our limping dog a good check-out, and cut us a break with a sample of pain meds. An after-hours exam for a passing-through-town patient with meds for less than $200? Oh yeah. You can trust these folks. Nice happy atmosphere in there too, staff joking around and such, always a good sign!

While Im from out of town, I accompanied my sister on an emergency visit for her cat. Blood drawn, tested and meds prescribed within a few hours. Only had to spend about 15 minutes actually in-office. A little pricey compared to my vet in Capitan, but I guess you cant expect everything to be perfect.

Friendly, caring staff, and an entryway that divides cats from dogs...for everyones comfort. Has and does everything.
