I work later than the office is open. I really appreciated the ability to rent online. I had issues with my gate access, I left a message and they got back to me in a timely manner. I really appreciate the great customer service.

Renting my unit was super easy. And I havent had to deal with anyone yet so .. Im not sure how in person service is but Im already happy with my choice of storage rental

Very reasonable and open 24hrs. The new operators was very easy to talk to handled everything quickly and made sure i was prorated . They also didnt require a security deposit. 5stars 4sure didnt get free beer though . as the sign says out front.

Mindy was extremely helpful and very efficient with all of our needs. Units are very nice and the place is very secure, clean and well lighted at night.

Michelle is the most sweetest, most helpful person I have ever met! She really helped us catch up on our unit through payment plans, she would call to remind me to pay before I forget and wouldve had more late fees... She truly is an angel. She is the manager in which I highly recommend. Thanks VIP for having this wonderful person running this place for you!

Michelle was able to help me find exactly what i was looking for! She showed me some dust control units that would keep my furniture clean the way i loaded it in. This place is much nicer and cheaper than other storage facilities in town.

Savannah that works in the office is amazing! She is very helpful. Today we able to move out of our storage unit and she made the process quick and easy! If I ever need to have things stored again there is no question I would choose VIP storage just because how awesome Savannah made the experience!

I highly suggest that you DO NOT store your items at VIP. The owner of this facility claims to have security cameras. It’s FALSE advertising! Sure, he has a security camera that watches the front door to the office and a security camera that watches the back door to the office and a camera that watches the gate, but only because he doesn’t want his office robbed. The rest of the facility has cameras up but they DO NOT work! Just last week my camper was robbed. Luckily I have insurance but most do not. I was informed when filing a police report that SEVERAL campers have been broken into and robbed and also entire trailers have been stolen from this property. The vandals can access the property through the 6 foot fence in the back.Trash at this facility is bad because there is no dumpster for anyone to leave trash in also. I caught owner just a few days ago bagging trash from around the faculty in Adopt a Highway bags.If your looking for storage Please DO NOT store it here. My hope is to spare someone else the grief of losing their items they paid to keep safe!Updated 5/23. In response to your reply:VIP’s response was amusing. The “disgruntled employee” referred to, has nothing to do with the lack of security and cameras that do not work, or to do with the fact that the property is easily accessible for vandals to rob because of the fence can be cut so easily. It also has nothing to do with the fact that my items were broke into and robbed, as well as many other owners of property out there! I must have touched on a sensitive nerve. I’m simply stating facts for others to consider!For those who read reviews take a look around and see that there is no dumpster. That in itself proves that I am telling the truth. Also, Ask the police department how many open cases they have with VIP storage.I suggest to VIP that maybe instead of wasting energy on replying so craftily to a review, maybe they should actually get a dumpster for trash and actual cameras that work ALL THE WAY AROUND the property! It’s your obligation and responsibility to provide the security and service that you claim to have!

I am the disgruntled employee they speak of. I am disgruntled for my tenants. I put everything I had into managing this storage facility for 2 years. I gave my customers and the owner priority over my family and my time. The response from the owner is very dishonest. My aunt stored her camper and a trailer at VIP Storage. She did have it broken into. Several other customers had campers broken into as well. I had several locks cut over the past 6 months. The security cameras need to be updated and fixed but the owner doesnt want to spend the money on the repairs or pay the guy who tried to repair them. I have never worked for a company that does not value their employees or customers like this one. You can see my name on many of the reviews because I worked really hard to make VIP a great place despite the lack of support from the owner. I also noticed that the owner deletes bad reviews from the main VIP website. How can you trust a company like this to store your belongings? I am ashamed that I worked for this company so long. I hope if you need storage in Carlsbad you consider what I have to say. VIP does have some great features like 24/hr access and dust control units but I would rather have dust on my belongings then have them stolen.

Michelle (NEW Manager), is very helpful and sweet! She kindly helped me get a storage quickly and was very patient and understanding. She treats customers like family. For those who speak Spanish, Michelle is bilingual. I definitely would highly recommend this storage facility to others. Hablan español!! 👍🏻

My company has 2 storage units here and have been customers for a couple of years now. We are in and out of them several times daily. I’ve never had a problem and savanna and her husband have went above and beyond to help us. I’ve never seen a questionable looking person or strange vehicles lurking around like there is at many storages. Convenient location and any size you need is here.

Weve here before. But this go around is 100% BETTER. The manager this time is very nice helpful on picking out the right size unit we needed, even after getting settled in our unit and with other questions weve had arise.That my wife Judy Chavez, she rented & even applied for a job here.

Lots of dust gets into the units due to not having the lot paved. People are often gone during open hours, have stopped by multiple times during business hours and no one is there. Have called multiple times and never had someone answer, they will generally call back within a few days, but never the same day. Ended up getting a unit twice the size for a less than 10 dollars more at a nicer facility.

We stored our travel trailer here for four months with no problems. The facility is clean and the customer service is excellent. We will store here again in the future.

Used for short job in a town we knew nothing about. Manager went above and beyond in accommodating our needs. Highly recommend.

This place is a joke. They say they have working cameras they do one one front gate one behind office and one in the office they are the only ones that are working at this time. Property is getting stolen all the time. My sisters RV was broken into this past week. My advise go anywhere but here. Also the owner is always increasing the rent.As I said go anywhere but here! They had a good manager Savannah but she is no longer with the company she was the only good experience I had with VIP.

Its self storage so your experience is mostly dependent on you. No one works at the facility. There is a gate. You provide a lock. Price is reasonable.

I had an unfortunate experience with a moving company that led to ALL of my familys belongings ending up in VIP Self storage. They went above and beyond to work with me and my family and the other families affected by the moving company. Based on their moral and ethical behavior in this situation I would strongly recommend them for any storage needs you may have. Although I didnt know my belongings were there they were most certainly secure.
