They hold pretty terrible hours. Advertised as 24/5 but they arent actually open for 24 hours 5 days out of the week. This place USED to be 24/7. Despite updating some of the equipment since Covid there are just too many people depending on this location for exercise. Even when Google reports this place as less crowded, good luck finding a bench for free weights. Not such an issue for people looking to do cardio but inconvenient for the rest of us.

STRONGLY RECOMMEND an employee be at desk at all times. At 3:30am I shouldnt have to wait 10 minutes at front desk for an employee to come out. This has happened a couple of times before, but never that long.Also STRONGLY RECOMMEND a door alarm/chime notification to employees (that are not at desk) that someone entered facility! Ended up leaving, as I couldnt waste any more time, needed to get to work.Usually dont have any issues with this facility, however lately some of the employees on the overnight shift should improve their performance.

Friendly staff and clean equipment as well as locker and shower area. Best price for gym membership. Having the option for 24 hour entry is a nice option.

A great place to start any fitness journey with friendly people to help you on your way. With a large and spacious club social distancing is restively easy. Staff is very friendly and Ive never had a problem here. Safe to say this planet fitness is top rated.

This is probably as clean as it gets when it comes to a gym. I see staff constantly cleaning no matter what time of day. They have such a variety of equipment and they maintain it well. Ive seen stuff break down but get fixed within a few days. It does get busy for. A couple of hours a day but being a personal trainer I know all about that lol. Overall I love this gym and would recommend to anyone looking for not just a cheap option but a smart option. You cant go wrong.

Im a otr trucker so I visit alot of planet fitness locations this locations parking lot is large enough for a trailer if you come during uhaul closed hours. Only thing I wanted to shower but didnt because the water pressure was LOW

There is SO much to do, everyone is nice and respectful, theres showers, tanning beds, and massage beds. Anything you need or want to do with your body you can pretty much do. Ive never once had any troubles there. Highly recommend getting blackcard membership for the guest and the extras with it.

I used to go here when I started lifting and it has a lot of good machines and equipment for beginners. The pricing is very cheap and the employees are so nice. There is no free barbell squat/bench racks but that it out of this locations control. Great place!

I give it five stars even though Ive only been a member for a few weeks. When I walked in I was really impressed with the amount of equipment, all of it was new plenty for everyone to use I like their motto no gym intimidation allowed. None whatsoever. Very large parking lot they used to be a 24-hour operation before the pandemic so the hours are a little Limited but all in all I am impressed so far.

I love my Carlisle Planet Fitness! The staff is very friendly and supportive. They keep the facility very clean and the equipment well maintained.

When my wife was hospitalized for month I appreciated having PF to burn off my frustrations with the World.

Nice gym with the typical equipment Planet Fitness has. Locker rooms and bathrooms are clean. Plenty of stations to wipe down equipment. The staff is also very nice.

Update ***After having canceled my membership 4 months ago due to below experience, I have rejoined. Most of the staff appears to be new, the workout areas are always clean and finally some restrictions are relaxed. However, the locker room while kept fairly well,seems to have the showers neglected. There is soap on the floor or in the tray that stays there for days.. yuck..The water is slimy and wont rinse off so a quick 10 minute shower takes 30 min. The water pressure is extremely poor . I was told they put in a water softener...well folks that explains both.A quick hot shower to get the sweat off and nurse a muscle group you worked out is essential. But this water softener really is not helpful. Nice place to workout. I’m coming up to my one year anniversary and can say I have seen some changes that I do not like. Way too much cell phone activity while camping out on machines. As some others mentioned, this is a very busy place. There are several regular customers that camp out on machines and finger bang their phones. I have mentioned to the staff about this and to take note. Not too much support coming from them.As for the staff, there is hardly any interaction with them other than Curt James. He is very professional, outgoing, and always makes me feel welcome. As mentioned above about my one year anniversary. I have had zero interactions with any of the other staff except to mention the cell phone usage, and I visit this location 4-5 days a week.All in all, it is a great clean place to workout. Just needs to work on the items that I have mentioned.

Carlisle location is always clean and ready to use. They use proper social distancing, or social fitnessing requirements by having machines far enough apart, some machines closed for ensuring distance, and plenty of paper towel/ cleaning stations to wipe down after use. Employees clean equipment regularly too, including cleaning the cleaning stations. Masks are required except for while exercising in a single location so as to not prevent proper breathing while exercising. They also keep track of how many people are in the gym at a time. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that it can be a bit warm. Otherwise, this place is great!

I love Planet Fitness. Great friendly staff and always VERY clean. I go to the one on Walnut Bottom road.I do wish that there was a cell phone policy. Very distracting and annoying just about everyone on there phones. Sitting on equipment playing on their phones. i try and maintain a fast pace and dont mind working in with other people but some are just sitting there on their phones.Dont understand why you need your phone at the gym.Some just leave their phone on a bench or piece of equipment and i don;t know rather to move it or just stand there waiting.to see if they are coming back or did they just forget it.I really enjoy Planet Fitness just wish some guide lined were in place pertaining to phone use in the gym.Thank you!

Registering online was easy. They have frequent & great sign up fees. Machines are always available. Everything is easy about joining & working out. Makes work outs DOABLE!

Always a pleasant experience going there. Employees are friendly, gym is always clean, which is a plus. Im 77 yrs old and enjoy walking on the treadmill, and working on some of the other machines.

I have been a member of this planet fitness for years. My favorite thing is the hours. The locker room is always reasonably clean and equipment is always in working order.Only reason for not having 5 stars is the fact that the gym doesn’t have a bench press, squat rack, or a barebell to do dead lifts. These are the 3 main exercises for someone who lifts weights to get big and you can’t do them at PF. I understand this gym doesn’t cater to meat heads but you could at least have one of each of those three for people that actually want to be in shape.

I went into Planet Fitness to secure a membership. Well long story short, the kid behind the counter declined to give me an account. I had my bank card, my account numbers and Credit cards... He asked me about an app? Why? He was so distracted and did not want to wait on me. He told me to use the website. Really? No thank you.

I have always liked this gym. The only issue that I have now is the new governmental restrictions that the gym owners have to abide by in order to stay open.

Very efficient. Upon joining they provided all need to know info up front and got me going within 5 mins. A well kept space with clean facility, no broken equipment, and staff ready to assist. An outstanding fitness center and services support operation.

I can not say enough positive things about my experience at Planet Fitness. The place is always super clean, the staff are amazingly friendly and genuinely focused (Hi Curtis and Chance), the background music is not too loud, and the no judgment zone is real. But the hydromassage bed is what motivates me to get in the car and drive there. Without it I would have trouble getting started. Relaxation is part of my prescribed medical treatment plan and without the bed I could not be progressing as I am after being discharged from Physical therapy. A really good place. Get the Black Card!

While there today, I noticed that there was always someone out cleaning machines, the floor, trash cans, bathrooms etc.

So glad I joined this fitness club several years ago! So many great workout machines and terrific and friendly staff. I especially like the 30-minute circuit and hydromassage bed!

I always feel good going to this gym, only thing I wish could be fixed is there seems to be no working street lights in parking lot. In a nearly abandoned parking lot now that kmart is gone its a little unsettling walking to the car late at night when you cant see anything.

I have never seen the fly machine not in use, regardless of the time of day or the number of people in the gym. In fact, many seem to leave a towel or water bottle as markers of its being in use even if someone is not sitting on it. I am told the best way to remedy this (to get more than one fly machine) is to mention it here on Google reviews.

Planet Fitness is starting to become more of social club then a gym. Too many people just standing around talking taking up equipment rather then working out.

I love THIS planet fitness. I work out 5 to 6 days a week. It has EVERYTHING I need, friendly staff, AMAZING managers and awesome atmosphere, from free weights to cables to the TRX room, again everything I need. Morgan the trainer is a god send and I tell her every month when o have an appointment with her that she’s changed my life with the regimen she has given me. I frequent other planet fitness and have to say this one is the best one yet!

Wellness is essential for good health. Check out Curt’s stretching class. My mobility has increased greatly due to his stretching classes.

Clean, always available equipment that is in excellent condition, practically always open, judgement free, inexpensive. Go, follow a couple easy rules, do your thing. Best club for fitness Ive ever seen and one where you will feel comfortable and welcome. All people, all ages.

No stress, no worry, no pressure... I fit in with my lack of experience and ability. The trainer is great, she helped to set up a plan for me and is available when I am ready for a change or need some help.

I have been to several Planet Fitness. This is the best one I have ever been to as far as spacing is concerned. More than ample space between the machines so you arent breathing on top of each other.

I am a black card member. The place is staffed by high school kids. They dont really enforce their own dress codes, hence women in sports bras (who am I to complain?) and lots of torn up shirts, etc..that you see in every other gym. During construction the water fountains were down...the right thing to do would be to give away water bottles since water is pretty important, but the HS kids working there just said sorry. But the price is right and the equipment is functional and the location is convenient. Lots of parking. Other PF locations have better equipment.

They want your BANK routing and account numbers - no way!!EDIT based on owners response - let me tell you the reasons why this owner went cashless and required direct access to customers bank accounts - 1. No credit card fees - thats a +3% profit for the business right there. 2. No protection for the customer when theres a dispute over the charge - Planet Fitness just TAKES the money. When theres a credit card involved, the customer has rights and can reverse disputed charges 3. Complete access to customers banking funds.Let me be clear - giving a business permission to take money from your banking account is synonymous with giving them a book of pre-signed checks.Also forgot to mention - I offered to pay in cash, and was denied. This is ILLEGAL in the state of Pennsylvania; please refer to Pennsylvania’s “Cash Consumer Protection Act”. Im interested in your response to this particular fact.

The treadmills are very close to big tvs. Very nice. Lots of machines that Shippensburg does not have.

PF is a joke! The “Judgment Free zone”?? Please! If you really want to work hard and truly get in shape, stay far away from this fairy gym. If you breathe hard they sound an alarm in a childish attempt to embarrass you for the noise...the absolutely dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of or witnessed!! I use it for the treadmills and ellipticals. After that, I go to my real gym. Too bad I can’t give it a 0star...or a negative 5 for the hypocritical mindset and policies.
