Was able to stop in and get a fresh haircut for a great price. Barber was teaching his son the trade, which I respect a lot.

My first time in PA on vacation, I decided to stop by at GQ barbershop in Carlisle. Where I meet dean, he did not disappoint! I got a great cut and he answered every question I had. He is very professional and knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend him and stop by for a cut whenever I am in PA again.

Worst service ever, they didn’t knew what’s a blow out. I asked for a five cut & a blow out but they gave me a five low cut & didn’t shape up my beard when I asked them to shape it up. They didn’t shape up my hair cut at all. I will never come back to this shop again all they do is talk instead of cutting hair or listen to they customers

Nice barber shop that takes walk-ins or you can make an appointment. Appointments are suggested for the weekends or you could be sitting for a while! All of the barbers I have seen @ GQ in Carlisle are very thorough and take their time to give you what you are looking for. They do anything from regular cuts to custom designs. Sunday is military day which means if you are active military or a veteran with veteran ID you pay $15 instead of $20. Good group of barbers in Carlisle.

Barbers are friendly, the haircut looked nice, the price was fair - I liked it. Only problem was I came in to find the doors locked at 4:10pm on Sunday when their shop window and website say they close at 6:00pm. My brother informed me he had the the same issue in the past. Id recommend scheduling an appointment as opposed to doing a walk-in to be on the safe side. But Id advise anyone to go at least once and give it a shot - theyre a nice group of guys, and youll get a clean cut.

Good place good barbers!

This was my first trip to GQ Barber shop...and it will not be my last! I walked in and the place seemed packed, which to me is a ver good sign. My wife took both our son’s there a few weeks ago and they both looked great, which is why i wanted to try them out. I was seated within 10 minutes and my barber was Mike. Mike was very attentive and his attention to detail was amazing. I was more than pleased and you now have another regular customer! This is a mans hair cutting place...no doubt about it!

My son loves coming here and feels so comfortable with whoever he gets when we come. He’s on the spectrum and haircuts have always been a rough thing for him but not here. All the guys are amazing with him. Everyone is very professional and it reminds me of a lot of the shops back home in Baltimore.

I took my 5 and 14 year old there for the first time around 1 on a Saturday with no wait. Even if I had to wait its worth it. The man who styled my older son looked at a picture on my phone and did it perfect. Even customized it to how my son wanted it. My 5 year old was scared at first but the man who cut his hair didnt only do a great job he made it fun and my son was ready to go back in as soon as we left. Me, I like the price, atmosphere and the barbers. REAL people. Thats big in my book.

These brothas are the best in the area, the barbar shop is like the neighborhood counseling hall, library, encyclopedia for history and information.When I come in the door.......They look up and we got a word I always say unless kids are present. Just paid 20 dollars for a “medium fade” that ended up looking like a screaming high and tight.. needless to say I’m shaving my head after this poor service and lack of care. I pointed to where on my head I wanted my fade line, at midway down the side and back of my head. However the fade line is nearly on top of my head, If I wanted a high and tight I would’ve asked for one.

I am Caucasian and all the barbers were black men. That shouldnt matter but the guy who cut my hair didnt seem to know how to do it. One of the worst haircuts Ive ever had. Then he charged $20. May be good place if youre black but not for whites. Also the place was messy and scissors pulled hair indicating they were dull.

Barbers need to cut like Barbers do in big citys and states like Newark nj or NY,,,,GQ in Carlisle Dont do every haircut like its their last ... A real hair cut needs many tools..not just clippers and a comb or brush...every line on your head needs a spay,warm rag and a straight razor ..it makes the haircut..thats why we go to Barbers...not to do it at home... Get with it...

GQ Barbershop Carlisle is a very family friendly business oriented barbershop. Yes Black owned and Black ran but these men are very professional and know how to accommodate every ethnicity that comes thru the door at GQs you are made to feel welcomed and leave happier then you were when you got to the shop looking more dapper then ever! If for some reason you were unsatisfied with the service you received at the time you would have been compensated and taken care of on the spot you are never sent away disappointed! It is very unfortunate that one gentleman had this experience because if you read the reviews so many Caucasian men and woman and children were more then satisfied with the service and overall atmosphere of GQs barbershop and will only come here now for haircuts. I say shout out to GQs barbershop in Carlisle keep doing a great job and providing great service and a great atmosphere for family and friends to be able to come to to get a great hair cut! We should show more recognition to young men that are out here trying to run and keep afloat a business then to try and tear them down!

If you havent tried the place, youre missing out. It is quite an interesting experience. My son goes here over and over again. He has tried other places around Carlisle, but GQ is by far his favorite, and we can tell the difference. In fact, my son has his older brother and dad going there now, too.
