Absolutely the worst office Ive ever been to. They have lost my husbands packages twice . gave them to someone at the counter other then either one of us even though they were to be delivered to our house cant blame covid for being stupid.

I hate this post office my mail always getting mixed up or sent to someone address and the supervisors doesnt help solve the problems because Im still having problems with my mail and packages going to other peoples addresses instead of mines after I reportedto them twice already. I hate this post office I wish they had better mail carriers that handle out mail appropriate and putting it in the right mailbox.

When I check my informed delivery account it says I have mail coming and to this day I have yet to receive 9 pieces of mail. It’s been a little over two weeks since I’ve had anything in my mailbox.

You can wait for 60min or longer and they still wont answer the phone. I got a text about my package and it said I need to contact upstairs but they wont answer the phone

The carriers either shove your items in a too small mailbox or claim theres no access to deliver the item. I have never had so many problems with USPS until living in Carbondale.

Usually, I’m not a big fan of USPS. My mail carrier Kim hasn’t stopped helping find my missing package after a mix up. I’m glad she’s going out of her way to help me find my package. She’s willing to go above and beyond! Thanks Kim!

OMG! You know I’m sure there are a lot of good people that work at this branch, however there are some people that need help in learning ABC’s and 123’s, it’s not that hard, basic skills. But to continuously not deliver packages or only deliver 1 out of 2 packages and then say the road was inaccessible, hello carrier-person then how’d you deliver the first of two packages and then say the road was inaccessible, hello carrier-person then how’d you deliver the first of two packages and how’d you deliver all of the neighborhoods regular mail. I mean common sense tells me this, cause you know I have it in spades, you’re either very lazy because you are allowed to get away with being incompetent by your superiors, senile because my mail ends up in other peoples mailboxes on a regular basis or your just intellectually challenged with a side of inebriate with alcohol or most likely this states new weed law lets you just chill a little too much and I hope it’s the latter for your sake. Get it together, this is a small town, you would fail in a larger city and be destroyed by other supervisors in those said cities. If they can handle a larger vast mail delivery system then so can this towns small (blip) mail carrier system.**Edit 06/09/20 : I’ve complained so much online that I’ve noticed that the deliveries have improved so I am happy, thank you Post Office. 3.5 Stars!!!

You might be treated poorly here. Most of the employees are kind, decent, and helpful, but there is one exception. If you miss your line number you might have to pull a new line number and then proceed to the back of the queue ... a five minute stop can become a 20 minute stop. Avoid this post office if possible.

Wait times are reasonable, and there are several chairs available for customers to sit in while waiting. Very organized deli-style ticket number system to maintain fairness and order--although a supervisor once helped by ignoring this system and first taking care of customers who had arrived after me, and therefore had later numbers than I did. I politely spoke up, and the female manager was rude and said that the number system simply did not apply to her because she was a supervisor. Otherwise, my experiences there have always been very good.

Horrible customer service! USPS erroneously delivered my package to the wrong address, and even though the sender gave me a receipt with the right address on it, they still claimed it was the senders fault and gaslit me! They insisted I must have previously lived at the wrong address! Completely unhelpful. I will be filing a formal complaint, as I have evidence to the contrary, and hope the sender gets a refund and I get my money back for the lost items! They also routinely lose my mail, and have delivered other people’s mail to me.

Inexcusably bad service! I have not received three vital documents in the last few weeks! One being a paycheck, the two others being insurance related! I LOST MY INSURANCE BECAUSE THEY DID NOT DELIVER MY RE DETERMINATION APPLICATION! Im having to consider getting a PO box, just because the people with jobs PAID MY TAXES CANT DO THEIR JOBS ! Ive talked to other people about this, and it appears to be a city wide problem. Ive never lived anywhere that had such bad service!

BEWARE!!!STAY AWAY FROM THIS POST OFFICE AT ALL COST!!!My iPad Pro never departed from the 1301 E. Main St. location in Carbondale. A Worker named Ramona handled the item and it never left the facility to St. Louis nor to the buyer.I have contacted the Carbondale Police Department & the USPS inspector General and made my complaints to them. The USPS workers are slow with 1-2 registers open and the service is bad. Been going there for 11+ years and NEVER had a problem until one of the USPS employees stole my package from there.

I move to my new house and put in my change of address and my postman refuses to deliver my packages to my house. He keep sending back to sender which is hurting my new business. I’m a small business owner and depend on the usps to get my packages to me for my business. They are being paid to do this and can’t do their jobs. I have been in to the Carbondale post office three times over this and nothing is still being done about it. It no wonder Carbondale is falling apart. It is such a shame the our post master won’t even do anything about it. This punk cost me late fees on my credit cards and hurt my credit score bye not forwarding my mail because he’s to lazy. But fate will pay this punk back. For the so called postmaster not doing their job they all should be fired. Hey Carbondale USPS do your job!

Quick service overall. Have to walk from parking lot to other end of building to mail packages and for other customer services. Self serve machines are usually empty (stamp/envelope).

I have nothing but issues with this location. They will not deliver packages to my address unless someone is home. Im never home during the afternoon due to work (like most people). Every time I fill out the notes stating to leave it at the door, they take the note and wont leave the package. Ive had to call the office on multiple occasions several times a day to wait until mail is done for the day and pick it up from the actual post office. Ive even had to hunt down the mail car. By far the worst USPS carrier location. EXTREMELY unfriendly, unhelpful, and not people orientated. Ill order 1-2 day service and 8 days later the package arrives beat up as if someone drop kicked it like a football.

Literally the worst. Couldn’t find my address (no explanation) suppose to hold the package for me to pick up. Then sent it out for delivery instead after being assured by 2 people (supervisiors) that it would be ready for me to pick up. Then they made me sit for 25 minutes waiting for the post master, who acted unprofessional and condescending

I lived in Carbondale for three years while going to law school. I found the USPS employees at this location to be super helpful, friendly, and professional. I never had any issues with my mail. The last two years I rented a PO Box at this location. My mail was always promptly delivered. I also mailed lot of packages internationally. The employees always treated me with very nice, despite the fact that entering all the information for an international package into the computer is a pain in the rear end for both the employees and the client. Special thanks goes out to Scott and the other gentleman (I am sorry I cannot remember your name right now, but I believe it started with J) who was always at the very far left of the counter. :)
