I frequent Lifetimes all over the country and this Specific location has been wonderful. Ive been in town for a few months and Ill tell you there is not a better fitness center in Canton or Ann Arbor than this place.Extremely nice staff and clean facility. Other than cafe not being open in the early AM, I have nothing but positive things to say.

I went there on a one day trial membership. The men,s locker room can use some serious cleaning, the shampoo and body wash were empty in the mens showers. The floors were muddy from too much foot traffic. Add to that too many people in the lockers. This not healthy in this time of the Corona spiking in Michigan.

The club as a whole is ok. But, too many members present as slobs. Taking 3,4, 5 towels, wiping their flip flops or shoes with them, and just leaving them damn near anywhere. Little, if any class. Additionally, too often staff & lifeguards dont responsibly and properly monitor the 2 hot tubs, allowing groups, (better gangs) of immature adolescent to spoil it for adults. And the bombastic water aerobics is enough to make anyone nuts. Why the instructor has to blast directions and music so loud is annoying, ALL THE TIME.

Love everything about this place. Pool is great, love the classes, and they have the best equipment. I do wish you had a bigger area for individual weight lifting/core. Only complaint is the sauna in the women’s locker room is always gross. It’s like people bring their trash in there which is nasty in itself, but then it’s always steamed up so it’s never cleaned. I hope you clean it nightly.

I love my gym. Honedtly they get my money because of the eucalyptus stream room and sauna. Also love the whirlpool and ability to get the 2.5hrs of childcare.

Very helpful staff and friendly people working out there. The equipment layout is really good too. Even though there’s a lot of members, you’ll always find machines available.

Just wanted to ask some pretty basic question..but website sucks and dosnt answer anything and account manager..what...pretty simple ..how much is it but have to answer 8 billion questions and give them all info just for a price..

Was a member there until Covid when I dropped membership after 6+ years and an average of 300 visits a year. Watched the club decline significantly in services and amenities as the monthly price climbed at 10% a year. Loved the club when everything was working which was maybe 50% of time and people that work there are all good people. I would rejoin only under two conditions the business model changes and they become more competitive on the monthly pricing and or if my soon to be advantage plan covers a portion of the cost. For newer people considering joining you will pay a lot if you join. There are other clubs out there for half the price that are a better value. Cost is too much $80 a month = $960 a year. Too much corporate overhead.

Enter at own risk. They say they’re operating at 30% capacity that is a lie. Went Friday night every machine was busy. Many people upstairs not even wearing a mask no employees in sight. 3 employees working is not enough for a Friday night. Went to hot tub same situation. No social distancing, one lifeguard for entire swim area. I don’t blame the employees, management should be the one enforcing these rules.

I understand during Covid that the Facility had to do whats needed to stay open. However, before Covid they changed there hours not cool... with the amount we pay the Facility needs to operate like before. 24 hours. I use to go every night around 1130pm. This is what I consider my time. My kids were sleeping and I found a peace of mind.

While this gym is beautiful and there are many great amenities, 75% of the members are not wearing their masks. Also, a lot of the members did not respect social distancing rules. There is no one going around to enforce the rules. Such a shame because the gym has a lot of potential- planet fitness enforces these rules without exception. I hope they can do better!

Dirty Dirty gym..workers are Not sanitizing the equipment, the restrooms, locker rooms.Michigan Health Department needs to be called, for having a dirty environment.

Nice and well maintained, a little expensive, but well worth it!

People are wearing a mask and staff is constantly cleaning the equipment I think the folks looking for things to cry about should just stay home if they are worried about their safety. We trying to enjoy our lives and work out in peace without someone trying to get our workout place shut down...stay home!

Pretty amazing gym! Incredibly big place with pools, saunas, rock walls, and activities for the whole family. They are not open 24 hours any more, I believe it is because of COVID-19.

Super friendly staff, and a variety of workout options. Their trainers are always very helpful. They are a bit pricey, but I think it is worth it.

I went to Canton Lifetime because Novi lifetime happened to be closed. The first thing I noticed was that the group fitness class was listening to their music at an inappropriate volume and using every one of the squat racks for a class of about six people(how rude and unthoughtful to other members). To be heard above the music the instructor had to yell at his clients. This type of displayed behavior by Canton Lifetime is very discourteous to the other members and I, for one, felt somewhat intimidated, very uncomfortable, and needed to leave. Since writing this I have learned from many other frustrated members that this has been going on for quite some time and management is well aware.*It has now been about 7 months since the original review. Nothing has changed and the group fitness classes that go on at the alpha platforms are totally unacceptable for the same reasons mentioned in the original review. Members have also shared that they have personally called the club while present during these group fitness classes to have the club address the issues, but alas, nothing has been done.*This facility seems to have a 100 percent tolerance policy. They appear to tolerate members behaving poorly, weights being left on equipment for other members to put away, workout towels left on the floor, members training in large groups tying up a lot of equipment, group fitness instructors yelling at their class over the already too loud music, group fitness classes tying up most of the squat racks, locker rooms not adequately maintained, upstairs bathrooms poorly maintained, trainers not enforcing club policy, under age kids(

I honestly cant complain about the place. It has all of the equipment I need and its pretty quiet, too. I will say that it has some of the nicer facilities of any of the Anytime Fitness gyms Ive been.

I really love the Alpha small group training program at Life Time. The facility is well-kept up. The only criticism I have is that the training floor is a little cramped.

Best gym in the area without a doubt. Busy at times. And a little pricey, but if you take advantage of all they have to offer, then its worth it and then some. Usually clean, except on weekend evenings.

I have a family membership and they are open at 4 AM but you can’t used the family locker before 9 AM 😡

No social distancing, no mask, I feel uncomfortable coming here. You never know who have corona here .

There is little being done to enforce the masks on rule at this site. Many take them off or partially off. Others are wearing face shields which don’t meet the requirements by the CDC or state ordinances. This is the Canton, Michigan location. There are literally members there who have the mask off the entire time, without being prompted. Seems like employees are more interested in sitting at their desks or away from the work out areas.

I love coming to this gym. The staff here are so friendly, go out of their way to help you and its always so clean. I look forward to my workouts here everyday!

Crowd, more than half of the swimming pool are reserved for classes and customer can hardly get space to swim.

Great experience. My kids love coming here with me. So many activities to do. I also love the 60/90 day challenges.

Always a great workout experience and they have so much to do to get you in shape and healthy. The hot tub and swimming pools are great and the locker rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly and go above and beyond to be helpful.

Scammers, terrible in customer service

Continually disappointed at the lack of proper mask wearing enforcement. At least 1/3 of the members dont cover yheir nose and there is NO staff on the fitness floor to enforce the policy.

I was a member for a 1.5yrs and recently decided to cancel my membership after purchasing a home gym. After reading their FAQ on how to cancel it says you have to have advance written notice. I sent an email through their messaging app thinking that would be sufficient and if not it says they respond within 24hrs so I would find out quickly. After 5 days without getting a response I went to the service desk and asked if they canceled my membership and they said no that I had to sign in person. So I did it that day and they said I would be charged for an additional month. A week later I got an email saying my membership would be canceled a month from that date. I responded to the email giving my whole story how I canceled two other times before that and got no response. After getting another credit card charge I called corporate and they said they would reimburse me up until the date of the second time I canceled. Other than them stealing my money from poor customer service the gym is nice with all the features but they are reluctant to make repairs. They have had two broken drinking fountains for two months now. They removed a broken bench in the locker room that was replaced about 6 months later so there was no where to sit in that section to get dressed. You have about a 50/50 chance on whether the showers will have soap. The employees are friendly in person but unfortunately the gym is overcrowded and people leave their towels laying around all the time so it’s a mess.

I havent been coming here long but i joined because of the daycare. Its great, the staff in the kids area are super friendly and take good care of the kids. Workout are is nice and they were adding a cycle room?? i think thats what it was called. Different classes and hrs here are ok too but the biggest downside is the price....i was paying about $100 a month for me and 2 children. Its great that they offer so much but maybe they could let you customize your membership to what you plan on using.

Best gym in Canton

Lifetime is a bit pricey but the quality makes me go to the gym more often so it is worthwhile. If you are looking to book a massage, I definitely recommend Autumn. I had this pinching pain under my shoulder blade (trapezius pain probably from poor posture) and Autumn really improved it. She really knows how to follow the muscle path and use pressure to effectively work out knots.

Clean, good equipment, good enforcement of COVID policies

This was a 24hour gym when I joined over 10 years ago. They got greedy and decided to start closing a good chunk of the night. I would only visit between 1-5am so now it’s obsolete to my schedule. Bad management and I will tell all my friends not to go here as well. Thanks for nothing lifetime!

Ever since I joined lifetime I have had nothing but an amazing experience. The customer service here at the canton location is amazing! Eric and Danielle provide you with everything you need and answer all your questions and concerns. The staff at canton are friendly and try to make their members happy.Also, Joel is an amazing personal trainer and glad I joined his team! If you are looking for a personal trainer, he is the best!Also don’t forget to try Jennifer B’s group fitness classes, she is amazing and will work your booty! :)

Been a member since February 2018. It is definitely on the higher end of the gyms Ive been a member at. But I believe it is worth it.Pool is nice. My son takes swimming lessons. Also more expensive than goldfish or aqua tots but I like the consistency with his teacher.Good mix of people. Not changing any time soon.

Lifetime is such an amazing gym! As far as sales go, Alex is the one to go and gives great service, definitely ask for him at the door. Jeff is an amazing personal trainer, and the spa is AMAZING! So many different services you can get done in there. Absolutely love this gym and would recommend it to anyone!

This gym is amazing! All you can ask for in a facility and definitely worth the price. Great workout equipment and friendly staff. I absolutely love the outside pool as well! Customer service has always been top notch!

Best Club and Gym in Michigan

**Update**10/27They rectified that issue. I think that someone that worked there was traying to just get out early(probably he was caught). After the gym repoened Ive been able to stay there until 8 min before it closes. (better than the 20 min margin)They kick you out 20 min before the gym closes. No questions asked. First gym ever that they do that and sad to say that it is the most expensive gym I have paid for.

Only area of Canton Lifetime that deserves a 5 star is the group fitness. The Group fitness Manager is amazing. Her instructors know how to motivate and keep it moving. So a big thank you goes too Cheryl and her group fitness team. If the group fitness wasnt so exceptional, I would be at Applied Fitness Solutions in Plymouth.

You get a great value for your money at lifetime! All of the classes and instructors are amazing! I used to spend over $100 a month just on a yoga studio and I get so much more here. I also did personal training and had a great experience with Joel . We love the pool in the summer too! Love the salon and spa and having it right there at the gym

I love this gym. Lauren H. is wonderful and the classes are great. Its also one of the cleanest gyms Ive worked out at.The only reason this gets three stars is the cafe hours are wrong. They state they open at 6 during the week, but on two separate occasions they were not ready to serve food at 6. Today I was told it would be at least 6:15 before they could serve food. I cant wait that long (I have to work) and was planning on eating breakfast after my workout. The cafe needs to either open at 6 or they should change the posted hours.

My boyfriend has been charged for a membership here for the past 7 months.... when he cancelled his membership LAST August... He gave proof that he was moving and could no longer go to this gym, which in their contract, that is okay to terminate the account if you move. Yet, he still gets charged a large amount of money monthly... On top of this, we have emailed and called at least 3-5 times a month since then and no one has helped solve the problem. Very poor customer service and I would not recommend this gym unless you want to lose money for not even using their services.

I normally never write reviews but I had to come here to warn current and potential members. This is a very nice facility but they are running a scam, getting a membership is easy but cancelling it is nearly impossible. I cancelled my membership months back and they had me sign a form and six months later out of nowhere I started getting charged for myself and family and when I called to speak the manager, she never returned my calls and the Front Desk staff did not seem to know much and said that I had put my membership on hold which I never did, I clearly stated that I wanted to Cancel but the manager decided to hold me instead. I requested to see the paperwork I had signed to hold they were never able to find that for me. How does a facility like Lifetime just lose somebodys paperwork. I would understand if it was just a one time thing but after reading the reviews and talking to friends I have come to find out that this happens a lot there. You go and sign to Cancel your membership and they hold it without your permission and keep charging you and later do not return your calls. Luckily I found My copy that I was given and since I am not the only one that this has happened to, something needs to happen regarding this. Corporate needs to look into this club and see what the people are doing because this is fraud and I have proof not just for my own membership but have connected with friends and others from the comment section who also have proof and this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.IF YOU GO IN TO CANCEL ASK FOR A COPY AND HOLD ON TO IT BECAUSE TRUST ME IN A COUPLE MONTHS YOU WILL NEED IT

From the tons of different group classes offered to the new improved equipment, this gym has it all. Closing overnight is such a mistake. The pool overnight was the only reason I had this membership and if I cant even use the pool let alone the gym when Im available then whats the point. I will not be renewing my $60+ membership if I cant have access when I get out of work late and night is when I can come. Very disappointed with this, I enjoyed the gym but even a $20 membership place is open 24 hours and all the customers here pay way more than that. We should be able to have 24 hours access.

Clean, High Quality, and Friendly

The gym itself is amazing, but we recently moved and so per their request, we cancelled 1 month prior to us leaving in person. However, they somehow have no record of us cancelling, which I found out when they billed us again. When I called to inquire, they informed us that they had no record of the paperwork we filled out (with our personal information on it) and were unapologetic about their mistake. We luckily have our receipt and can prove we cancelled, but without this they would have made us do the process all over again and continues to charge us while we waited the 30 days for the cancellation to take effect. Additionally, we don’t live close to a lifetime so cancelling is not convenient. Terrible customer service.

This is a nasty place. They let people in without memberships The staff don’t care about no one privacy. I missed placed my keys so i asked the manager to look in the safe she said it’s not there. So i left to get my son from school with a friend of mine and then came back demanding her look in the safe with me and now all of a sudden there they are in the safe the whole time.

Today I had a training session with Jeffrey Richards. He is awesome. Jeff took the time to listen and answer my questions regarding nutrition, stretching and exercise techniques. I felt he truely cared; which was very refreshing. I will be sure to schedule another session soon.The locker room and workout facilities are always clean too!

I havent even been a member a week and its so sad that when I call in to ask a question Im transferred 3 times just to get a voicemail. This not a place if you have anxiety because observation in this short time is its always super busy. I notice young able body people using the handicap parking. I will be looking into canceling my membership. And to think I was going to pay it up for a year 😞

Eric Stevens was the reason why I wanted to join this gym. Not only did he provide the warmest and most welcoming energy, but he was genuine and was focused on our experience instead of pushing us to get a membership. He should be promoted. Unfortunately, the members at lifetime fitness were condescending, rude, and treated me (a 23 year old marathoner) like I didn’t know what I was doing. The classes fill up and there is little to no direction. This gym is simply too crowded and old despite its flashy features.

Just had my second massage with Keli. She is very talented and knowledgeable. By the time I see her my back is a mess, when I leave I feel so mich better. I always have her do a deep tissue therapy session, I can’t imagine anyone doing a better job!

Great facility. Has basketball courts, indoor and outdoor pools, rock climbing, saunas, etc. The staff are extremely helpful and always courteous. This is not your budget gym but the cost is more than reasonable for what is included.

I used to love going here. However, the changing of hours is not good. One of the main reasons I joined is that I work retail. Being often 24 hours meant I could very a workout in around my sched. With the holidays being the main time I need the gym, I am now not able to use. I also have not been happy with staff or equipment last few times I have been. Staff does not seem as friendly or energetic as when i first started going. Also one if the nice things about late goes is you didnt have to plan your workout around a class. Seems like there are always group classes using everything. Will probably cancel my membership if this is going to be the new hours. Seems like every month something is taken away that was a reason I joined.

It is like a resort, do the math you can’t get all the perks you do under one roof for one price. Group fitness, yoga, spinning, racquetball, basketball, indoor outdoor pool, childcare, spa, cafe, towel service & u don’t have to bring a lock. Apparently they are offering some great deals right now, All the sales people are great, but if you go to Canton, go see Frances he’s no pressure. My only dislike is the frequent open houses, I feel they should keep it to members and their occasional guests.

Lifetime is not only a gym, it’s an experience. And they provide more than just some machines and a pool. They have a wonderful and very helpful staff and trainers that are dedicated and truly invested in your wellbeing. It’s honestly worth the price. They’ve helped me begin my fitness journey and hopefully stay on it for a lifetime!

I’ve been a member since 2002. That being said I’ve seen this club evolve in management and members. & although there was some rough patches, I can happily say the facility cleanliness has been incredible lately. Specifically the men’s locker room. Keep up the good work!

I have been Lifetime member since year 2005. Shyam is the main reason I joined the Lifetime Fitness! He is one of my favorite instructors who has and have been motivate me for many many years.
