I had spent the past 3 days running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get my dog seen at an emergency vet and i called butler and they were able to get me in 7pm last night. As soon as my dog and I walked in the door all the staff was attentive and ready to help. Dr. Allen is very nice and professional and kept me posted during the entire process. I will be taking my dog here as his regular vet now. 10/10 recommend this place!

We took Black Cat to BVA for ear issues. Turns out he has an ear infection. Everyone was very professional and Black Cat was treated well. Thank you to the staff at BVA for helping our cat.

I was able to secure a same day emergency visit by contacting the office first thing in morning. From that point, everyone (receptionist, technician, Veterinarian) were very pleasant, caring and professional. The Vet explained things well including the costs and answered any questions. Service was quick. I would not hesitate to take my dog or cat here!

We used the emergency clinic and were there for just over an hour and a half. But in all fairness it was the emergency services and my Bellas issue was not necessarily an emergency, but due to not being able to get her into her vet for the weeks made an er visit necessary. Also, or appointment was scheduled for 11:00pm. All of this said, the visit went well. We were treated with respect, she was thoroughly checked out with tenderness and care. All of my questions and concerns were addressed in plain speak and when technical terms were used, they were explained without me having to ask. We left feeling confident that Bella would be feeling better soon. I am happy to say that in less than 48 hrs she is almost back to her normal. It does take longer than two days for ear infections and skin issues to clear up, but they gave her medication to keep her comfortable through the process. Thank you very much Butler Veterinary Associates for taking such good care of my Bella!

I was traveling when my dog got hurt. I arrived when they opened on a Saturday morning and did not have an appointment. The staff saw my concern and discomfort in my dog and quickly accommodated us. I waited less than 15 minutes before seeing the doctor. X-rays were needed and the doctor spent time explaining the results. The whole staff was professional, caring, and very accommodating. I’m thankful for the quick and thorough care that we received.

Took my cat right in when my regular Vet was booked up. My cat needed attention right away. The Vet Tech and Dr. treated my loving cat as if it was their own! The Dr explained everything thoroughly to me! And the Vet Tech ensured that I understood the dosage. Thank you so much!

If I could give a lower rating, I would...my moms pregnant guinea pig was not able to have her babies They said they have 1 vet that will care for guinea pigs, but unfortunately that vet wasnt going to come in to help her. So moms precious hairless guinea pig died in moms arms trying to have her babies because we couldnt get her in to a vet...even an Emergency vet...like BVA. So, thank you BVA for not helping moms Lacey!

All vets and vet techs at this establishment are the nicest, most professional, and understanding people Ive ever dealt with at a vet. I called for a small sick kitten and within the same day got an appt within hours. Once arriving they were quick to respond to the severity of the kitten. After initial check in the veterinarian came in and explained everything very thoroughly and easy to understand. Needless to say, I will always keep the staff close to heart for saving our little kitten. I would also recommend this establishment to everyone! Your pets could not be in better hands.

Such a good experience here, the staff were so friendly and answered all our questions! We were seen so fast and they don’t charge you an unreasonable amount! I’m going to start going to this vet regularly now and would highly recommend them.

My French Bulldog need to be seen she was in first stages of labor. Butler Veterinary Associates got her in right a way & found she needed a C-section after the x-ray showing a puppy too large & one pup having a slow heart beat. They were very professional, concerned, kind & Pretty- Pretty came through just fine & she had 3 baby boys. I will go back & I highly recommend Butler Veterinary Associates to take your pet to when you have an emergency or after hours. You may pay a little more, but you definitely get what you pay for. Its worth it, especially if your dog needs special care for health issues. If youre a person that likes to stay informed about what theyre doing for your dog and get all your questions answered in depth, this is your vet. They are the most kind and loving toward animals. I am so glad I switched from a vet that I wasnt sure cared for my dogs to them.

Extremely fantastic vet! Ive used both emergency and regular veterinary services here, and they are absolutely amazing! They are extremely reasonably priced in both areas of service! Their vets and staff are very knowledgeable, helpful, compassionate, empathetic, and left me feeling very relieved to leave my animals there. One of which stayed for 3.5 days after an emergency spay. Of which was right around $1000 for a grand total. I didnt feel like i was just a number, or that they were charging me for everything and anything they could. Had i taken my dog to another ER vet **cough....PVSEC...cough** the bill would have been atleast $1,000 more. These guys are definitely here for the welfare of your pet and genuinely care about you as a client. I will recommend them to everyone i can for any veterinary need! Thank you butler vets!!

Fantastic experience! Our FrenchBulldog had his ear completely ripped requiring it to be stitched back together. We tried a few places closer to us in the city and no one would take him because he was not critical enough. We called first thing Sunday morning and they made us an appointment the same morning. They took us right at his appointment time and understood we were coming from further away. They explained everything in detail and got him fixed up and us on our way. Very happy with their service and care.

Called in a panic yesterday because my dogs paw pad got cut and was gushing blood. They were too busy and would not take me. They told me to either call my regular vet (they are my regular vet) or take him to Monroeville. He would have probably bled out if I took him that far away. So thankful that another vet in the area was able to squeeze us in between appointments. He had hit an artery and needed emergency surgery. I understand that they are busy but they are supposed to be an emergency vet. I wont be coming back here again.

If you are looking to admit your dog as a new patient for non-emergent reasons, I would look elsewhere as they are not accepting new patients at this time as they are busy and backed up and they do not know when they will be accepting new patients.

This place is wonderful. They were able to get my dog in the same day I called. The vet and tech were both very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend them to anyone!

Dr. Berry is by far the best vet. Super knowledgable, professional, and friendly. Takes time to listen and answer all questions. Can’t say enough good about her!

Our ferret needed euthanized late on Saturday. Even though we showed up 15 minutes before closing they took us in and gave us and our fur baby so much care. They went above and beyond to make sure we had all the time we needed to say our goodbyes and that our guy was given a peaceful and quick ending. We got home and opened the clay paw print they made for us and found a card inside. The card was signed with a sympathy note from each of the staff members. It was such a sweet thing that they didn’t need to do but they did anyway. I was so impressed with the whole experience and it made a rough night a little easier. Thank you for everything you did for us and our Mowgli.

My dog got bit and they said sorry you need to schedule an emergency appointment and we are booked.... nice caring for an injured animal. Cant really schedule an emergency if you dont know its going to happen.

First time there and I didn’t know I had to have an appointment for an emergency.They still got me in and was quick and explained everything in detail. I felt very comfortable talking to the doctor.In fact I am going have them do the surgery on my dog that is how comfortable they made me feel.

I get tired of Butler Vet being all about the money. I should be able to access my dogs’ accounts online like I do with my health and see what shots I got my dogs and which shots I declined. It drives me nuts when they take my dog in curbside and I feel as though I have little to no control over what of going on.The account should provide updated prices for everything, too., that way we know what to expect.For what they charge there is so much room for improvement!

When my regular vet could not see my dog until Tuesday. I called Butler Veterinary Assoc. They made an appointment for that same day. They were thorough and explained what they found and didnt find. Meds were given for inflammation. Also, they agreed to fax my regular vet their findings. Very professional!

The technican and our Vet were so friendly and professional with our pups. Our dogs get very anxious at the vet and these women made them feel as comfortable and loved as possible.

Excellent staff and very knowledgeable, I am very impressed with there ability to give a diagnosis the same day of your appointment. No waiting a week or two for test results, you get the results immediately upon testing and diagnosis. They check with you for approval for testing and procedures, so your final bill isnot a surprise. And most of all they truly care about your pets and you. Highly recommended!!

I’d taken my pets to Butler Veterinary Assoc for 20+ years. I recently moved so tried to use a vet closer to my new home and didn’t have nearly the level of service as I’ve always had with Butler Vet Assoc. I made the longer trip to go back to Butler Vet Assoc this time and I’m so happy I did! Everyone there is so pleasant, knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge and they all genuinely care about your pet.

We had an emergency with our barn cat on a Saturday night. They fit us in and we headed out. We had no idea where we were going and it was a very hard rain storm we were traveling through. Consequently we were late and arrived at midnight. When I called to tell them that we had gotten lost and how sick the cat was, they told me that they were about to close but to hang on. They came back on the line and said that they would see him shortly. We saw a car pull back in and then they came out and got the cat. He had a fever of 106+ and would have been dead by morning. He had been attacked by an animal and had multiple wounds and abscess . they cleaned him up, got his fever down to normal by morning and really took good care of him. The price was very reasonable as well!! Would highly recommend them

I called late in the afternoon for an issue with my beagle. I couldnt go to my normal vet because I wasnt at home, I was at my summer place. The team at Butler Vet had me come in at 6 pm. They diagnosed the problem with Annie, did blood work to make sure the medication wouldnt harm her at 11 years old. They even clipped her toe nails which is difficult for me to do because shes so wiry. We were in and out in less than an hour at a cost that I know was less than my regular vet would have charged. Highly recommended.

As usual, everything happened over the weekend! But Linda talked to me and I called her first thing Monday morning and she managed to get both Mia and Bullwinkle in that day! As always they both got great care. The Drs at Butler Vet are the best!

I love this place!! I love all of the employees as well!! They genuinely care about you and your pet. It’s awesome to see that people care just as much as you would. I can’t say anything negative! Dr Kennedy and the staff saved our dog’s life. They were absolutely wonderful. Our Alli was in a terrible accident and was close to death. She was lifeless when I brought her to the emergency center. Their quick thinking, superior skills, knowledge and professionalism were a miracle!!

Very nice staff and prompt with my appointment. They’re doing curbside service right now, February 2021. When you arrive, you call from your car and get checked in. Then you talk to a tech on the phone about what’s going on with your pet. You then drop your pet off with a tech at the front door then wait in your car. A tech or a vet will then call you when they’re with you pet and you can discuss things then. The vet was very patient with me as I had a lot of questions. I had meds filled there and they were handed to me with my pet at the door when they were all done, and I’m on my way. Payment was over the phone too. Great experience overall

Always a helpful and thorough visit. Sometimes it takes awhile to get a normal appointment and is a little bit more pricey but they really do take care of the animal. They offer a very wide range of tests, treatments and options. And if they can’t do it they will refer someone who can.

Amazing customer service from the Receptionist all the way down to the actual doctor. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the service we received. I would highly recommend them to anybody looking for the best possible care for their pets!

Got my pup in as an emergency when our vet was not available. Dr. Kennedy and staff were very compassionate, informative and very knowledgeable.

I have had to take my Yorkie here a few times for their ER. Every time we’ve gone I’ve left feeling better because they are so kind there. They always take the time to explain what’s going on, and it doesn’t feel rushed (when I know how busy they are). I now live an hour away from there but still think it’s worth the drive. The vets here are truly caring, you can tell they love animals.

Very expensive to just prescribe an antibiotic for my cat. Nothing else was done. Wound was not even cleaned out. $166?? Nothing against them. But all the vets in the area wont see hurt/sick pets. I guess vaccines and such are more important.

After a bad experience in the beginning of my dogs lives I only see 2 vets in this office. I mostly stick to the one who knows my dogs very well and I love her as shes very knowledgeable and frugal. She understands what it is like to live within means and reality of pets lives. They are family but also not here to make us poor. They are our loving companions but how much do you spend before it is to much. Dr Berry is to the point but will make sure you understand what is going on or happening.Ive been a client here for 15 years with my dogs i have now. Before that probably at least 5 with our dog before. The employees are all compensate and truly love animals. My dog before was unfortunately hit and the compassion of everyone during that time was definitely needed. After putting him to sleep couple weeks later received a card and his paw print. Recently same thing except cancer and was same treatment. When our dog had pups and I had to go to another facility for mastitis at er because at the time they didnt have emergency service but after the night I brought her to BVA to finish the treatments.

I had to take my cat on the 4th of July. Despite getting horrible news from her blood work, the entire staff was more than kind and professional. I would highly recommend them!

I called for an emergency appointment for my cat. All veterinary clinics were very busy the day after Christmas. Butler Veterinary Associated were able to get us a same day appointment. The scheduling personnel, vet technician and vet Dr. Allen were caring, concerned and responsive. Very little waiting time. Kept in constant contact regarding Graysons condition and the options for his care.I really appreciate them seeing us and caring for my cat in an emergency basis

I couldn’t be happier with my whole overall experience with this office! My St. Bernard had a medical emergency yesterday and they got him in the office very fast, they were capable of dealing with such a big dog in a professional way, he felt at ease with the vet and assistant, They all were extremely helpful and friendly, My dog is already showing great improvement just since yesterday! I would definitely recommend using this office and I am switching from my previous vet to this vet! I am highly impressed!

Dr. Wilson is who I normally see but all of the veterinarians and very techs are friendly and truly care about your animal as if it were their own.

Me and my husband had taken our dog to them to see if he had possible anxiety. He had agression issues towards dogs, people basically anything and sometimes even us. But that didnt stop us from keeping him for the last 3 years and trying our best to do anything for him because he was our family and our first baby after speaking with them we decided that maybe euthanasia was the best considering we have 2 small children under the age of 2. We were told on 3 separate occasions that our dog would be given a sedative that would put him to sleep within 10-15 minutes and then they would put the catheter in and then the euthanasia medicine. We arrived at our appointment on April 23rd 2021 and they gave him some type of sedative that caused him to instantly fall and he was trying to get up and couldnt, his tongue was hanging out of his mouth, basically everything was paralyzed. The absolute fear in his eyes and the horrific sight me and my husband both saw was honestly the most horrific thing we have ever seen considering we loved our dog and he was family not just a dog. They literally told us one thing then did another and left the room with no warning of what we were about to see. They then came back in to check and we said he seemed paralyzed and that was not what was agreed upon and the person giving the meds then said oh hes just sleepy. What lies because he was still completely awake and never fell asleep. Me and my husband both blame ourselves and regret the decision we made. It was suppose to be peaceful but yet in fact it wasnt for us or our beloved dog that will never be coming home. I understand we made the decision but we feel we were lied to and they did not communicate when they should have. We will forever remember that day and the horror of it all. I will never bring another pet back/ might never get another one again due to the heart break we will forever have.

I cannot express how kind and empathetic the emergency Vet and Tech were to me tonight. I’m not an established customer, never been here before, and they treated me as if I was a long term patient during my time of need. I’m speechless with the compassion and care and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Love my vet clinic and so does my Dane. Very thorough great recommendations and very nice to speak with. They don’t rush you and answer all your questions.

Minnie’s appt. went very well. Granted it took longer timewise, but the staff was on top of things. Minnie was seen by Dr. Allen & she seemed very thorough. I was pleased w/her questions on Minnies medical condition. Dr. Allen also developed a game plan on how to treat Minnie. I liked that. I did have to call the office & have them email the receipt to me. I also questioned the 2 pills (same shape - diff. markings) but both situations were immediately addressed. I will be calling to schedule Minnies follow up appt. w/Dr. Allen.

Who ever they have answering the phone needs replaced...i can understand that you cant see more patients and are booked but but zero compassion is not in my book...i have feelings And my dog was dying thank God I went to avets....

I have been taking my dog here for 5 years. They are professional and knowledgeable. I personally will never go anywhere else.As far as Covid, they run their office as they should. The safety of everyone is taken seriously.Outstanding job team...Omar and I will be back, hopefully not too soon however 😀

I recently had what I deemed an emergency and took my dog there, they were very kind and compassionate. I’m just very happy with the treatment they gave my dog although they are a bit pricey I feel they were worth it.it’s nice to have an emergency place I can go to if I would need them.

We took our 13-year-old chocolate lab to two different veterinary clinics. One of the clinics suggested surgery as an option. The other clinic suggested euthanasia. Upon recommendation from the second clinic we decided to take Aiden to Butler Veterinary Associates. The staff was extremely efficient, professional, knowledgeable and took the time to explain what was going on to us. Amber was our technician Dr. Berry was our doctor. Amber was very caring attentive and understood our dilemma with oral medication. Dr. Berry was able to dumb down the diagnosis in a way we could understand it. The diagnosis was heart disease which is treatable with medication. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you so much for taking care of Aiden. That evening we began to notice in improvement with him. Knock on wood, we hope his recovery continues. This visit could not have went smoother.

This is very far from our home in Pittsburgh but worth the drive. Their prices are always average or better than average. Their ER is run smoothly. Surgery here was less than half the cost of the first ER we went to, and my dog got better aftercare (spending the night so that they could keep him comfortable vs. outpatient at the other place). I am so thankful for BVA and all of the people that work here.

They were very quick to get my puppy in for a. Emergency. I would definitely go back the staff and Dr was wonderful!

Great emergency vet clinic! Kind, communicative, knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog in their care overnight.

One of my dogs was scheduled for a pre-surgery visit. 24 hours before that my other dog did something that caused her to be in pain. I called the office the day before but unfortunately they had no office hours but reminded me that emergency visits were available. I waited till the next morning my other dog was still in a lot of pain I called on my way and told them I was bringing her into the emergency visit. While driving they were so accommodating to take my information and get her schedule and at the same time confirmed my other dog for pre-surgery appointment. I was beyond impressed with my visit the technicians couldnt be any more accommodating and nicer. the doctor even called me to go over the procedure they were going to perform on my dog. I give this place a five stars if you think their service is bad or expense you should try pevsc! You will need the loan out on your house to pay the bill from pevsc!

Last weekend my cat became very ill. I live in Pittsburgh and have an emergency vet about 3 minutes from my home... but they werent taking any emergencies and said to call in the morning to see if they had availability then! BVA took us in two hours and did an amazing job with my cat. They ultimately recommended he be put to sleep, which was a terrible decision to make, but the vet put my cat first in this recommendation. I would have paid anything to keep him around, but money wasnt the primary concern with BVA. They recommended against proceeding with costly exploratory surgery as it would put my cat through unneccessary pain and would not benefit him in the end as his symptoms were end stage no matter what the cause. The process of euthanasia was done in a private comfortable room with a couch (and tissues) where we were able to spend as much time saying goodbye as we wanted. They also have on-site cremation services so we can pick up his ashes and bring him home. Years ago, they saved my dogs life, so we bring our pets to Butler vet even though its an hour away and have never had a bad experience.

We have 2 bulldogs that have been going to Butler Veterinary for over 3 years. Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone that needs quality care for their pet. Rooney and Roxy give 4 paws up!

I have a Flemish Giant rabbit who ran into some Health problems. I heard great things about Dr. Berry and her knowledge of bunnies! She did surgery on my bunny and now she’s all better! Thanks Butler Vet! I trust you with my animals!

This is the closest emergency vet to where I live. We called because our dog was having seizures and was not in good shape. The woman on the phone was really rude and flat out told us not to bring our dog there. I asked what I was suppose to do. She told me to take him somewhere else. I told her it was an hour and a half to 2 hours to go anywhere else. She just said well I dont know then and hung up. Will never even attempt to use this place again.

It was all good except the price. It was $220 to tell me my dog had worms. Seemed a bit pricey for that diagnosis. I could see half that much. Just my opinion.....otherwise good visit!!

They took great care of my chihuahua during her surgery and after. They saw me right away in a stressful emergency situation and made my pup feel safe and eased my mind.

My animal was hit by a vehicle I called when heading to their clinic was not a client when I arrived they came out got my animal and was very professional and taken great care of him.

Had to make an emergency visit for my cat, they were able to see us within a reasonable amount of time, and treated our cat back to health. A side note, the doctor informed me that the cat that I thought was a she was actually a he.

My dog was bleeding and I called my vet at 4 he couldn’t see her til the next day. I called butler vets around 6 cause the bleeding got worst. They said they couldn’t see her til 930. And was told to go thru er and it would cost 125 before any services would be performed. I agreed. The tech came in and took the information. The dr came in and informed what it might be. But had to take X-rays blood work it would cost 475. I agreed. Came back and said she had to have emergency surgery or she would die. They came in with the cost for two surgeries I agreed to one that was important. The cost was 1750.00 for visit test and surgery. I was told the cost included medicine surgery three days of staying. Everything went well so I picked her up in a day and half. Thinking I would get a refund since she was only there for a day and a half. Got there and was informed I owed an additional cost of 285. I ask why I was told that . She said the original cost was 2800 I told her no cause she didn’t get the extra surgery. Then was told it was 2300. I ask for the original paperwork someone went and crossed Out the 2800 and put in 2042. Ask for manager and she was very rude and told me that my dog was alive and that services were rendered. I will never use this place again. I was told one thing and then when I went to pick her up was told another. I even paid the 1750 on the spot. I feel they used your emotions for your pet.

Helped my dads dog and was able to help her get better...we are still in the middle of treatment but hoping she won’t need anything else other than the treatment that was prescribed...very professional n genuinely cares for your pets

Butler Vets Emergency staff was extremely kind and caring (especially Sue and Alyssa!). With the regular phone calls from the doctor and staff, it made it that much easier leaving my puppy there. They were very knowledgeable and would highly recommend any emergency, or routine care to them. I will be making them my dogs go to doctor just from my experience!

Set up an appointment for my mother in law to board our puppy for 2 nights. When originally making the appointment we were to pick our puppy up between 9-10am. Not more than a day after booking the appointment I had called to change our pick up time to 5-6pm. The receptionist was very kind and told me it was no big deal and got it all figured out. Come the day to pickup and they gave my mother in law a very difficult time, claiming we had never called and that it was our fault. Charged us the extra money due to their lack of communication.As a vet theyve always had our buisness but as a place to board absolutely not. Honestly very disappointed over this experience.

The doctor personally called me to keep me updated on my precious Tobys status. Very affordable for the care they gave to my Toby. Very much appreciated when youre worried and anxious.

I will NEVER bring another one of my pets here EVER again. We had brought our dog in due to stomach issues and Long story short it’s been 3 weeks and they have not gotten us our test results back from her fecal sample. This is because the lab keeps not taking enough of a sample to test. And what they are testing for she is being treated for in the medication they gave us. We have taken in 4 different samples to them. And nothing has been done for her. I’m highly disappointed in our visit here.
