From the young, clean cut receptionist, to Malysa (pronounced Melissa) at the lower level rental car kiosk, to the staff on the field who helped me locate my row, and vehicle, Alamo Buffalo Niagara Airport does an outstanding job at making each customer feel like a VIP.Rental cars are directly ACROSS THE STREET from baggage claim. While other companies had huge lines, Alamo had a few customers, 2 automated kiosks, and 2 receptionists, which kept the line moving, and got me checked in, in 8 minutes.Rental car pick up is at the LOWER LEVEL, where there is an Alamo Kiosk that has your keys. I noticed an issue with my bill, and Malysa corrected it immediately. She said an extra $5 profit wasnt worth losing a customer over. Pleasant, professional demeanor. Great job Alamo, and in particular Malysa. I would recommend Alamo. $$ out of $$$$$.

So very not happy. Plane was delayed and arrived to pick up the rental car only to find you they were closed. ALAMO left several families without vehicles Oct. 23, 2020. All of us scrambling for transportation. In the reservation process was my flight number, if no one is going to pay attention to that, why even ask for it??? Called the next day, shortly after they opened, they already did not have the car I requested. Spoke to the call center supervisor who was going to give my info the facility manager.....a week later and Im still waiting. Not ever recommending Alamo nor using. One and done!

I had a confirmation for a rental and they refused it despite it being in writing. They claim a system error, costing me $400 more for an at the counter rental at another agency same day. DO NOT USE!!!

The service at the desk for pick up was quick and easy.We were very disappointed with the cleaning. We brought the vehicle home and had to spend 45 minutes wiping the surfaces and vacuuming the rug. There were hot sauce and candy wrappers, dirty napkins and tissues. Liquid spills on the doors and seats. Something brown and sticky on the driver seat. We were surprised considering there was a sign hanging from the rearview mirror stating the cleaning policy. If our schedule had allowed we would have taken the time to drive back to Alamo and request a different vehicle. It was just better for us to clean it.

If you think all car rental companies are the same, you are wrong. I have found that Alamo has much better customer service and generally nicer cars. The Alamo at the Buffalo Airport was no exception! I returned a car early but made it in just after the people in the garage left. Initially, the rep told me I would just have to leave the keys (without a receipt). I am not comfortable doing that and a man who works for both National and Alamo came over and was so super nice and helpful. He acknowledged my concern and noted for my records that I had returned the car. He was professional, helpful, and a great representative of the company. I recently used a competitor in a different city and it was a terrible experience. This was easy and pleasant - from start to finish. When ever possible - even if it costs a little more - I will use Alamo. For the hassle and difficulty you can get with other companies, Alamo is worth it.

The car was not clean, the windows was covered with a film of a cloud on them. Thre flies needed a vacuum. And the vents were filled with a smokey smell. I left my black jacket in the back of the car trunk area by accident, I put in a missing report the same day over the phone, no response, no call back. My jacket was a black Timberland rain coat- it had a pair of earphones and $20 in the pockets. I was very hopeful on getting my jacket returned. It was left st the Buffalo-Niagara Airport

Alamo had the best rate for my last minute booking! I actually made the reservation while flying to Buffalo. Checking-in (connected to the airport) and getting the rental was hassle-free, and when I was confused about starting the fancy hybrid car, one of the reps helped me and was so kind. The car was in near perfect condition and I had zero issues on my 4 day trip. Returning the car was also just as easy, and there were no surprises. If I have to rent while traveling in the Buffalo I will certainly rent with Alamo again.

This was the worst experience I have had. They double charged me which started everything. I called costumed service and they said that everyone is working from home and they cannot help. Then I got a call on August 28th from a manager who told me I was in big trouble because I never returned the car.he kept telling me I was in serious trouble. I went there and pointed out the car to the manager. No response. Then I called customer service again to complain. They said they couldn’t take coPlainly because they couldn’t find my reservation. Then I called corporate office. I spoke to a male supervisor who apologized and said the regional manager would call. Never did. Then they charged me 1400 again to my card. No one from the airport picks up the phone I had to file a dispute. We will see if they do anything. As of now I have been charged 4300 and had to change my card number.

I am always treated well, they stayed open when my flight was delayed, I did not get in till after normal closing hours. They are the quick to get me in and on the road and really quick on the return check in. The employees always treat me well, never an issue with the cars. Thanks Alamo !!

It was very easy to pick up our car at the airport in Buffalo as well as dropping off. When we arrived to drop off there were a lot of cars doing the same but we were guided into a line and the attendant took care of us very efficiently. Very friendly and helpful staff! Will use Alamo again.

We flew into Buffalo, NY a few minutes after midnight. We made our way to the Alamo counter and were greeted by a friendly associate. He was able to confirm our reservation, exchange some jokes with us, get our keys, and send us on our way within minutes. Our rental vehicle met our expectations. Overall we have always been happy with our rental experiences thru Alamo!

Found this place after doing some searching online for a good rental car deal. It was super easy to locate and check in! Took us about five minutes and we were on our way in our nice, very clean rental car! Had no issues with the car while renting it and drop off was just as easy as pick up was! Will definitely rent from Alamo again if Im ever in the area.

Got a great vehicle (Toyota Tacoma) or a very reasonable price. Had the truck for the whole week. The service was great, staff very friendly. I always wonder why I have the ability to check in online but then still have to stand in line with my card/ID....? The only mystery that still exists.

Alamo is now our go-to car rental agency wherever we travel. Weve rented with Alamo at JFK, Atlanta, and Buffalo and the service was consistently great in all three places! Friendly, helpful counter agents, and friendly, efficient return agents. We love Alamo!

Our service at Alamo was excellent. The lady at the desk at the airport in Baltimore was excellent. The car was excellent and we enjoyed driving it. I thought the checkout process and the check-in process were extremely quick and efficient. We rented this through Costco and I would definitely be a repeat customer

When I got in the car it was filthy. The staff who cleans the cars checked off the cleaning list related to COVID and was not truthful. They didn’t clean what they said they cleaned. This is not a time to NOT practice cleanliness. I should not have to take my time to trade in cars or stop and clean cars myself because of lack of sanitization.

We rented several minivans at the Buffalo Airport location . Tim and Jerry were awesome! They were very accommodating and provided the best customer service. I would highly recommend asking for Tim and Jerry to take care of your rental car needs when in Buffalo.

I love Alamo. I reserved a full size SUV, which was only a few dollars more per day than a compact car. Upon arrival, the only full size they had was a premium SUV, a 2018 Chevy Suburban. This SUV was awesome, and had satellite radio as well as GPS built in at no additional cost. Alamo has always been great to me.

When I arrived at the airport I was pleased to have my rental car within minutes. Unfortunately the following day I noticed the rear brakes were making noise so I returned the vehicle to the airport where customer service quickly replaced my car with an upgrade. I would have given 5 stars except for the inconvenience of having to return. Otherwise I am pleased with both the service and the cost of rental.

Easy process. After finding my best deal on line, made my reservation. Upon arrival at airport, a simple check in at the rental counter then on to pick up my vehicle.Both customer service people I dealt with were very helpful and pleasant.

Was supposed to get a full size pickup truck but they were out. As usual Alamo doesnt disappoint. They gave me a Dodge Charger GT in its place. Fastest and best looking car I have ever rented.

We reserved a full size car with Alamo Car Rental Boston Airport for one week trip driving around New England and New York. They gave us a Chevy Impala which drove very quietly for a hundred miles and the engine oil signal came on. Rather than ruining our day by driving back to Boston or getting the tow service, we stopped and bought one quart of oil and continued to NYC. Next day we were on the road again and crossed the bridge to NJ and the oil light came on again. We towed off the highway and the service guy checked and said it needed two quarts of oil which we did. Then as we approached Ithaca two hundred miles away, and the oil light came on again......The nearest Alamo location is either in Rochester or Buffalo. We bought more oil and finally switched a car at Alamo Buffalo airport. When we reached the highway the car started vibrating badly with a lot of noise. There was something wrong with tires. Since it was a short trip to Niagara Falls, we continued. On our way back on the third day, we took the second car with the problems back to the Alamo Car Rental at Buffalo airport. The manager Ryan told us he had no full size cars no midsize cars no compact cars except one economy car or one Dodge van with 7 seats! Neither is good for our long trip. But we saw dozens of cars on the parking lot. Ryan said all reserved or on the maintenance (if they truly maintained their cars, how did we end up with two bad cars?!) All customers came after us got their regular size cars, except us! Ryan said that he could not do anything else unless we had to wait two hours to see what he may have!!! The customers who are unlucky given a car is put into the bottom of the list!!! This policy guarantees one very irate customer instead of two mildly annoyed customers! So you get to suffer on your entire trip! Never never never Alamo Car Rental again, period!!!!!

Alamo Rent A Car is the best. When I go to the rent a car area at the airport I am always amazed at the number of people at the OTHER rent a car companys. I think to myself, dont these people know about Alamo. Your employees, both at the desk and in the car location, have always been very helpful and friendly. When I returned my latest rental the attendant ask me how was everything. I told her excellent and that I love Alamo. She smile ear to ear and said.....We love you too. I thought what an awesome thing to say to me. And your automobiles have always been sparkling clean and well maintained. Thank you Alamo.

Arrived at Buffalo airport on time. Checked in at ALAMO desk and waited 15 minutes for someone in the lot to find a car and phone in the number to the desk. Went to the kiosk in the lot and waited another 30 minutes for a vehicle. One was brought up but it didnt match the paper work. After 30 minutes they revised the paper work to match the vehicle and we were on our way. Smooth sailing after the fiasco at the airport.

The manager of your BUF airport location was wonderful in helping us with our car rental experience. I forgot the gentlemans name, but he was a tall, Caucasian male. Quick, easy, hassle-free! I dont know what the others who have posted did wrong, but my experience was great! A four day rental and wonderful rates. I couldnt have asked for an easier return, even without having fueled up the car. I couldnt find a gas station nearby and they were very understanding.

First time renting a car and the check in process was a breeze. Excellent customer service at the front desk and down in the lot. The car was almost brand new (only 300 miles on it) and the prices were right! The gal who inspected the car upon return was very pleasant and friendly. Would absolutely rent from Alamo-Buffalo airport again!

I booked online but the person at the front desk told me they dont have the same size car as I booked. Normally, the company automatically upgrades to a bigger vehicle (whichever is available) without charging any extra amount, but these guys tried to make me pay more. I had to go through a lot of hassle because of that. Extremely poor service!

I rent from Alamo often and I have a great flawless experience every time. It takes only about 5min to get keys so Im not waiting very long ever. Check in is a breeze after already having previous reservations. No deposit is needed when using your credit card which is another perk. Fast Friendly service, great cars at Alamo. My group rented three vehicles a Tahoe, Jeep and Traverse for 10 days all in nice condition and we enjoyed the rental experience. I will be back in Buffalo later this year and plan on another Tahoe. Dont forget the EX pass big time saver. Thanks

This was one of the nicest companies weve rented from in Buffalo, NY. First, they are located right at the airport so no need for a shuttle. Second, picking up the car and dropping off was effortless. The company representatives were very cordial. We also had to call the national office because our car had an EZ Pass for toll roads inside which we didnt request, and we didnt see until we came upon a toll booth. National office said no problem and we wouldnt be charged, which we werent when dropping off car. We found the prices with Alamo was much less than other companies for a 3 week rental. Will definitely use them again.

Initially I chose to rent with Alamo simply by comparing cost. However I continue to rent only with Alamo, the reasons being courteous and intelligent rental agents, timely service, cars and vans which are clean and dependable and lastly, pricing which fits nicely into my budget.

Agent at the airport at pickup was friendly and knowledgeable. At dropoff, both my wife and I forgot to fill the gas tank before we entered the garage. The attendant there allowed us to exit and then return without charging the Alamo price for gas.

Very good experience with Alamo at the Buffalo Airport. The check-in counter was quick and the car was available immediately at the airport parking deck, very convenient. Upon return, the charges were a little higher than my confirmation and the agent quickly made an adjustment on my final receipt. I will definitely be renting from Alamo again when I return to Buffalo again in June. Great job !!

Between my wife and I we use the Buffalo airport Alamo 10 to 12 times a year for the last 5 years.Only 1 or 2 negative experiences in all that timePretty good record I think!however we were Disappointed this last tripCorolla was dirty, smelled of smoke and had a strip of tape glue around the rear window frame as if the window had been broken previously and tape glue had not been removed.UGLY!Were unable to wait for a change of vehicles but reported to manager upon our return and he discounted our rental $30

Managed to get a car just before closing. Saved a shuttle to motel & back the next morning.Be warned to watch out for deer at night/dusk/mornings in upstate NY.

I have not per se done business with this company but I do want to let everybody know out there so that you can spread word of mouth anybody who is looking to do a rental stay away from this company if you have a major credit card they will hold a $600 security deposit on top of the cost of the rental and no you are not reading this incorrectly so tell everybody you know to stay away from Alamo because not only do they charge a $600 security hold on your, but they also do the regular cost of the rental and I dont even know what they do for the debit card attached to your checking account so tell everybody you know to avoid this company anybody in the right mind should not be charging anybody a $600 security hold that is insane

Started out with too big a car (mini-van), but after driving it for two days, switched it out for a Camry. Much more comfortable and easier to drive. Not a lot of fuss to switch it out. Overall, Alamo is my car rental company of choice.

The check out process was relatively painless. I wasnt able to check out at the kiosk since I was returning the car across the boarder, but thankfully the line wasnt long at the airport. My only reservation was that I wasnt able to pick out my own rental. It was already determined for me. Other than that the rental was clean, didnt smell like cigarettes, and got great gas mileage.

Nicest car and best value by far at this airport. LOVED the car - clean, spacious, and like new. Return was a breeze.Pickup took longer than expected. There was a line and the Alamo kiosk does nit fully check you in so it doesnt save time.

Great service. Pricey for rental on a weekly basis being most expensive rental in last 4 years of renting.Had Nissan Ultima. Yikes, definitely would not own one or ride in one again. Not the most comfortable seating. This is not the fault of Alamo but is definitely not engineering at its finest for Nissan.

Excellent experience renting a vehicle with Alamo. It took less than 5 minutes from the time I arrived at the counter to be handed the keys to my rental which was shiny clean on the outside and spotless on the inside. The vehicle drove quite comfortably and without any mechanical issues. My only comment to the rep when I returned it was that I was a little uncomfortable driving around with Ontario plates as I was trying to find my way around the city of Buffalo, I encountered some rude American drivers who let me know they didnt like a Canadian on their roads especially if they werent sure where they were going..

We were informed by the sales lady that the fee for the highway will be 15dollars each time near Boston and we were advised to rent a E-pass for over 30 dollars for 2 days. But result is we only spent 2.7dollars during the journey.

I had ordered a mini-van and the company did not have one when I arrived. However, they upgraded to a large SUV- but it was not suitable for my handicapped son to gain access. I returned it the next morning and was given a minivan which was excellent for our trip. Staff was very courteous, and gave me a tank of gas for my complications - all worked out well. I did leave pictures of our visit to Niagara Falls between the seats in front, and would appreciate them, but I have low expectations of recovery. All went well and I will continue using Alamo.

The manager was extremely helpful when we had issues with a discount and under 25 driving fee. She went above and beyond to make sure that we got taken care of.

There were several things wrong with this vehicle. First, the Garmen GPS system was set up in Spanish, not English. We could not figure out how to reset it. It was refunded to us, but traveling without it was more difficult. Second, the Serius Radio was not activated. When we turned it on, all we could get was a commercial asking us to subscribe. Another thing which made the trip more difficult. Then there was the issue that the license plate tags had expired in MAY. Luckily, we were never stopped by the police for this. And, there were physical issues with the vehicle. The drivers visor catch had been broken off, the windshield wipers blades needed to be replaced, and the hatchback kept closing on us while we were trying to either load or unload our luggage. I got hit on the head twice by the hatchback before I learned to open it manually.I called in to report these things twice. Both times, I got someone who didnt speak English very well. I had to constantly ask for them to repeat what they were saying. When I called the first time to report the hatchback lid andvthe eiper blades, your customer service person could not understand me, and I had to tell him that it was the windshield wiper blades that were bad, not the windshield itself that needed replacing. The second time i called, your person told me that someone from your office would call me within 24 hours to discuss the issues with the vehicle. When I turned the car back in, 3 days later, and no one ever called me.This was the worst experience Ive ever had with a rental car. We use Alamo a lot, but Im beginning to think that Ill use some other rental car company. The car itself ran well, but most everything else sucked.

Easy booking and pick up experience! All staff were great, we enjoyed our trip to Niagara Falls with the upgrade we received.

Overall ok but staff needs to provide better information regarding electronic tolling and resulting costs. The lady at the counter very curtly dismissed my question about electronic tolls / pay by plate as irrelevant, claiming that there are no such roads in the region or on the way to Toronto, which is false (eg 407 all-electronic toll road). Other staff admitted there might be additional administrative charges but could not provide any details. Staff should be better informed and Alamo should have written information available on this. Generally it would be nice if staff could be a little more patient with questions about the small print.

I always use ALAMO as their service is excellent. My last rental in Buffalo was for a camping trip with my Grandchildren the Nissian truck fit the bill and was fun to drive. I will continue to be a happy customer

Quick and friendly service. The on-site airport location made renting even easier. The car was clean and nice and reasonably priced with the Costco special.

When I arrived to pick up the vehicle the workers were very friendly and explained to me that the car I requested was not available. So they offered me a truck instead. I was excited being as I only wanted an economy vehicle. I thought what an upgrade. Boy was I wrong the truck was garbage and I was only able to drive it to my destination and park it because it made an awful loud noise and had problems picking up speed. I ended up driving a friends car the entire weekend before returning the vehicle 3 days later. I felt I was cheated but the company only charged me for 1 rental day instead of the 3 it was supposed to so I guess I came out okay but I now know I wont rent with them again.

We recently rented a car from Alamo (in the Buffalo, NY airport) and it was a very good experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, the car was in excellent condition, and the price was competitive. I have rented from Alamo several times over the years and have always had a great experience.

The van we used was excellent Dodge Caravan, it had enough baggage in rear for 7 people. The car was appro 4 to 5 gallons short when we picked it up, however the lady who checked me in believed me and gave me a little credit which really was fair. Its good when someone takes a person word without proof even thou it was honestly true. Companies need more people like I think her name was Rewonda. After a HORRIBLE experience with the Alamo 800 number, I brought the car back to the airport and asked to speak to the Manager. I explained to him the problem that I had with the 800 number when trying to extend my rental by 1 day (I was going to be charged $278 for one day which was exactly what I had paid for 4 days). I was FURIOUS!! After listening to the whole situation he very kindly only charged me for the one day based on my rental contract. He saved me over $200!! The folks at the BUF Alamo station are so wonderful and kind! Every time I have rented there it has always been a positive experience!

This rental company charged me 2 different times on 2 different credit cards. I was assured by the manager that he would take care of this. Nothing has been done. I have 2 charges from 1 rental. I would not recommend this company at all. (The only way I could click on POST was to give a star rating, otherwise, I would not have given any star rating).
