Amazing customer service experience, from start to finish. From the young, clean cut receptionist, to Malysa (pronounced Melissa) at the lower level rental car kiosk, to the staff on the field who helped me locate my row, and vehicle, Alamo Buffalo Niagara Airport does an outstanding job at making each customer feel like a VIP.Rental cars are directly ACROSS THE STREET from baggage claim. While other companies had huge lines, Alamo had a few customers, 2 automated kiosks, and 2 receptionists, which kept the line moving, and got me checked in, in 8 minutes.Rental car pick up is at the LOWER LEVEL, where there is an Alamo Kiosk that has your keys. I noticed an issue with my bill, and Malysa corrected it immediately. She said an extra $5 profit wasnt worth losing a customer over. Pleasant, professional demeanor. Great job Alamo, and in particular Malysa. I would recommend Alamo. $$ out of $$$$$.

So very not happy. Plane was delayed and arrived to pick up the rental car only to find you they were closed. ALAMO left several families without vehicles Oct. 23, 2020. All of us scrambling for transportation. In the reservation process was my flight number, if no one is going to pay attention to that, why even ask for it??? Called the next day, shortly after they opened, they already did not have the car I requested. Spoke to the call center supervisor who was going to give my info the facility manager.....a week later and Im still waiting. Not ever recommending Alamo nor using. One and done!

The service at the desk for pick up was quick and easy.We were very disappointed with the cleaning. We brought the vehicle home and had to spend 45 minutes wiping the surfaces and vacuuming the rug. There were hot sauce and candy wrappers, dirty napkins and tissues. Liquid spills on the doors and seats. Something brown and sticky on the driver seat. We were surprised considering there was a sign hanging from the rearview mirror stating the cleaning policy. If our schedule had allowed we would have taken the time to drive back to Alamo and request a different vehicle. It was just better for us to clean it.

If you think all car rental companies are the same, you are wrong. I have found that Alamo has much better customer service and generally nicer cars. The Alamo at the Buffalo Airport was no exception! I returned a car early but made it in just after the people in the garage left. Initially, the rep told me I would just have to leave the keys (without a receipt). I am not comfortable doing that and a man who works for both National and Alamo came over and was so super nice and helpful. He acknowledged my concern and noted for my records that I had returned the car. He was professional, helpful, and a great representative of the company. I recently used a competitor in a different city and it was a terrible experience. This was easy and pleasant - from start to finish. When ever possible - even if it costs a little more - I will use Alamo. For the hassle and difficulty you can get with other companies, Alamo is worth it.

The car was not clean, the windows was covered with a film of a cloud on them. Thre flies needed a vacuum. And the vents were filled with a smokey smell. I left my black jacket in the back of the car trunk area by accident, I put in a missing report the same day over the phone, no response, no call back. My jacket was a black Timberland rain coat- it had a pair of earphones and $20 in the pockets. I was very hopeful on getting my jacket returned. It was left st the Buffalo-Niagara Airport

Alamo had the best rate for my last minute booking! I actually made the reservation while flying to Buffalo. Checking-in (connected to the airport) and getting the rental was hassle-free, and when I was confused about starting the fancy hybrid car, one of the reps helped me and was so kind. The car was in near perfect condition and I had zero issues on my 4 day trip. Returning the car was also just as easy, and there were no surprises. If I have to rent while traveling in the Buffalo I will certainly rent with Alamo again.

This was the worst experience I have had. They double charged me which started everything. I called costumed service and they said that everyone is working from home and they cannot help. Then I got a call on August 28th from a manager who told me I was in big trouble because I never returned the car.he kept telling me I was in serious trouble. I went there and pointed out the car to the manager. No response. Then I called customer service again to complain. They said they couldn’t take coPlainly because they couldn’t find my reservation. Then I called corporate office. I spoke to a male supervisor who apologized and said the regional manager would call. Never did. Then they charged me 1400 again to my card. No one from the airport picks up the phone I had to file a dispute. We will see if they do anything. As of now I have been charged 4300 and had to change my card number.

He was able to confirm our reservation, exchange some jokes with us, get our keys, and send us on our way within minutes. Our rental vehicle met our expectations. I love Alamo. I reserved a full size SUV, which was only a few dollars more per day than a compact car. Upon arrival, the only full size they had was a premium SUV, a 2018 Chevy Suburban. This SUV was awesome, and had satellite radio as well as GPS built in at no additional cost. Alamo has always been great to me.

Unfortunately the following day I noticed the rear brakes were making noise so I returned the vehicle to the airport where customer service quickly replaced my car with an upgrade. I would have given 5 stars except for the inconvenience of having to return. Otherwise I am pleased with both the service and the cost of rental.

We reserved a full size car with Alamo Car Rental Boston Airport for one week trip driving around New England and New York. They gave us a Chevy Impala which drove very quietly for a hundred miles and the engine oil signal came on. Rather than ruining our day by driving back to Boston or getting the tow service, we stopped and bought one quart of oil and continued to NYC. Next day we were on the road again and crossed the bridge to NJ and the oil light came on again. We towed off the highway and the service guy checked and said it needed two quarts of oil which we did. Then as we approached Ithaca two hundred miles away, and the oil light came on again......The nearest Alamo location is either in Rochester or Buffalo. We bought more oil and finally switched a car at Alamo Buffalo airport. When we reached the highway the car started vibrating badly with a lot of noise. There was something wrong with tires. Since it was a short trip to Niagara Falls, we continued. On our way back on the third day, we took the second car with the problems back to the Alamo Car Rental at Buffalo airport. The manager Ryan told us he had no full size cars no midsize cars no compact cars except one economy car or one Dodge van with 7 seats! Neither is good for our long trip. But we saw dozens of cars on the parking lot. Ryan said all reserved or on the maintenance (if they truly maintained their cars, how did we end up with two bad cars?!) All customers came after us got their regular size cars, except us! Ryan said that he could not do anything else unless we had to wait two hours to see what he may have!!! The customers who are unlucky given a car is put into the bottom of the list!!! This policy guarantees one very irate customer instead of two mildly annoyed customers! So you get to suffer on your entire trip! Never never never Alamo Car Rental again, period!!!!!

Arrived at Buffalo airport on time. Checked in at ALAMO desk and waited 15 minutes for someone in the lot to find a car and phone in the number to the desk. Went to the kiosk in the lot and waited another 30 minutes for a vehicle. One was brought up but it didnt match the paper work. After 30 minutes they revised the paper work to match the vehicle and we were on our way. Smooth sailing after the fiasco at the airport.

This was one of the nicest companies weve rented from in Buffalo, NY. First, they are located right at the airport so no need for a shuttle. Second, picking up the car and dropping off was effortless. The company representatives were very cordial. We also had to call the national office because our car had an EZ Pass for toll roads inside which we didnt request, and we didnt see until we came upon a toll booth. National office said no problem and we wouldnt be charged, which we werent when dropping off car. We found the prices with Alamo was much less than other companies for a 3 week rental. Will definitely use them again.

Excellent experience renting a vehicle with Alamo. It took less than 5 minutes from the time I arrived at the counter to be handed the keys to my rental which was shiny clean on the outside and spotless on the inside. The vehicle drove quite comfortably and without any mechanical issues. My only comment to the rep when I returned it was that I was a little uncomfortable driving around with Ontario plates as I was trying to find my way around the city of Buffalo, I encountered some rude American drivers who let me know they didnt like a Canadian on their roads especially if they werent sure where they were going..

I had ordered a mini-van and the company did not have one when I arrived. However, they upgraded to a large SUV- but it was not suitable for my handicapped son to gain access. I returned it the next morning and was given a minivan which was excellent for our trip. Staff was very courteous, and gave me a tank of gas for my complications - all worked out well. I did leave pictures of our visit to Niagara Falls between the seats in front, and would appreciate them, but I have low expectations of recovery. All went well and I will continue using Alamo.

There were several things wrong with this vehicle. First, the Garmen GPS system was set up in Spanish, not English. We could not figure out how to reset it. It was refunded to us, but traveling without it was more difficult. Second, the Serius Radio was not activated. When we turned it on, all we could get was a commercial asking us to subscribe. Another thing which made the trip more difficult. Then there was the issue that the license plate tags had expired in MAY. Luckily, we were never stopped by the police for this. And, there were physical issues with the vehicle. The drivers visor catch had been broken off, the windshield wipers blades needed to be replaced, and the hatchback kept closing on us while we were trying to either load or unload our luggage. I got hit on the head twice by the hatchback before I learned to open it manually.I called in to report these things twice. Both times, I got someone who didnt speak English very well. I had to constantly ask for them to repeat what they were saying. When I called the first time to report the hatchback lid andvthe eiper blades, your customer service person could not understand me, and I had to tell him that it was the windshield wiper blades that were bad, not the windshield itself that needed replacing. The second time i called, your person told me that someone from your office would call me within 24 hours to discuss the issues with the vehicle. When I turned the car back in, 3 days later, and no one ever called me.This was the worst experience Ive ever had with a rental car. We use Alamo a lot, but Im beginning to think that Ill use some other rental car company. The car itself ran well, but most everything else sucked.

Overall ok but staff needs to provide better information regarding electronic tolling and resulting costs. The lady at the counter very curtly dismissed my question about electronic tolls / pay by plate as irrelevant, claiming that there are no such roads in the region or on the way to Toronto, which is false (eg 407 all-electronic toll road). Other staff admitted there might be additional administrative charges but could not provide any details. Staff should be better informed and Alamo should have written information available on this. Generally it would be nice if staff could be a little more patient with questions about the small print.

When I arrived to pick up the vehicle the workers were very friendly and explained to me that the car I requested was not available. So they offered me a truck instead. I was excited being as I only wanted an economy vehicle. I thought what an upgrade. Boy was I wrong the truck was garbage and I was only able to drive it to my destination and park it because it made an awful loud noise and had problems picking up speed. I ended up driving a friends car the entire weekend before returning the vehicle 3 days later. I felt I was cheated but the company only charged me for 1 rental day instead of the 3 it was supposed to so I guess I came out okay but I now know I wont rent with them again.

We recently rented a car from Alamo (in the Buffalo, NY airport) and it was a very good experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, the car was in excellent condition, and the price was competitive. I have rented from Alamo several times over the years and have always had a great experience.

The van we used was excellent Dodge Caravan, it had enough baggage in rear for 7 people. The car was appro 4 to 5 gallons short when we picked it up, however the lady who checked me in believed me and gave me a little credit which really was fair. Its good when someone takes a person word without proof even thou it was honestly true. Companies need more people like I think her name was Rewonda. Please look her up and thank her for being an outstanding employee. Thanks Bob Bryan Senior VP

After a HORRIBLE experience with the Alamo 800 number, I brought the car back to the airport and asked to speak to the Manager. I explained to him the problem that I had with the 800 number when trying to extend my rental by 1 day (I was going to be charged $278 for one day which was exactly what I had paid for 4 days). I was FURIOUS!! After listening to the whole situation he very kindly only charged me for the one day based on my rental contract. He saved me over $200!! The folks at the BUF Alamo station are so wonderful and kind! Every time I have rented there it has always been a positive experience!

This rental company charged me 2 different times on 2 different credit cards. I was assured by the manager that he would take care of this. Nothing has been done. I have 2 charges from 1 rental. I would not recommend this company at all. (The only way I could click on POST was to give a star rating, otherwise, I would not have given any star rating).
