Ideal CrossFit is the first CrossFit gym Ive attended. Daryl Kelly, the coach, immediately recommended the beginners program to help me get started. That piece of advice was the first of many that helped me to become comfortable and enjoy working out. Daryl has created a great community that knows how to have fun and keep the motivation high during the workout.
Being a beginner, I really wanted to focus on lifting properly. Daryl is one of the few coaches that will take the time to teach proper technique for every exercise!
I came from a CrossFit gym in Shawnee where coaches were strict on form to reduce injuries and where members genuinely cared for each other. I knew it would be hard to find another gym like that and anticipated having to gym hop for a bit when I got to BA in order to find that. However, ideal was exactly what I was looking for. You have a coach who is constantly watching/teaching form and members who are SO fun to workout with.
Great crossfit gym. The coach Daryl is great and strongly emphasizes correct movements to prevent injuries. The programming is excellent and, above all, the other members are all extremely nice and helpful.
Daryl is extremely knowledgeable and pushes me to do great, but always focuses on safety. Everyone there supports each other and it is a great environment.
Great place to work out! Everyone is very friendly and helpful! Definitely a great community to be a part of!
Been a member here for two weeks and I already love it. I like how the coach on every lift or exercise really focuses on mechanics and how they will help you transition into more complex lifts. I love the atmosphere and cant wait to see what the future holds for me here!
Fun, motivating, and educational place to make yourself better!
I have been attending Ideal CrossFit for many years. I enjoy the friends I have made during my time at Ideal. I enjoy working out in the class setting because the others are encouraging and add some competitiveness. I have grown significantly in my strength and my stamina. Cardio things are still tough for me but I have come along way from where I started.Daryl is a good and knowledgeable coach, and gives good tips on lifting techniques. He is encouraging and able to scale the WODs for me so that I can be successful.
Ideal Crossfit is where you go to change your body and mind for the better.Ideal has taken me to competition-ready physical shape in years past if that is what you are looking for, but it also has programs set in place to ease folks like me back into crossfit after a 2 year hiatus. Highly recommended.
Great place and great people! Everyone is very welcoming and Daryl is a great coach. If you’re thinking about joining, you should definitely do it.
Made me feel really welcome even though I had never really worked out before! I am down right at 30 pounds!!!
The kids class is perfect for me. I am learning proper form for lifting while having fun. I recommend the youth class to anyone who does any sport.
I first started CrossFit with absolutely no experience in working out this way. Ive heard about CrossFit through friends and eventually decided to give it a try. I researched the boxes in Broken Arrow and Tulsa trying to find the best one for me and I started with Ideal. My first day, the members introduced themselves to me and were very welcoming. Daryl, the coach, was extremely welcoming and knowledgable and I knew that I could trust him as a coach. Ive heard the negative stigma about CrossFit and its easy to get injured, but right off the bat I could tell that Daryl knew how to prevent this. He actually focuses a lot on form and the ways to prevent injury. This place is just incredible. I know that I can become the best I can be and receive great, personal coaching. The people at this box are friendly and welcoming and you can tell that we are all a community and family and always looking to add more. My first day I was cheered on by the coach and the people I had just met! Definitely made me want to keep coming back. Its a positive encouraging environment and youd be crazy not to join here!
I have been at Ideal for almost 2 years. I came in straight off the couch. I have gained tons more strength and confidence in lifting. I am continuing work on my endurance. The coaching staff is knowledgeable, encouraging and attentive to all in the class. I love the community built with all members.
Ideal is a top tier gym. If you are a new athlete, a competitive athlete, or just trying to stay in shape, this is the place to be.
Great coach who’s priorities are fitness, health and safety for all members.
Ive been to a few Cross Fit boxes around town, and this box, by far, is the best. I have never met a coach so passionate and so knowledgeable about his sport. He is friendly and personable, and really focuses on helping you improve. Safety and proper form is number one priority around this joint! And dont even get me started on the community. Ive been a member for about 4 months now, and since day one I have felt like apart of a huge, fun-loving family. The encouragement, support, and camaraderie is unlike any Ive experienced before. I leave every night looking forward to the next class.Ideal Cross Fit is, pardon the pun, IDEAL for ANY activity level. From sedentary couch potato to seasoned athlete, each workout is scaled to each individuals level of fitness. Whether you are new to this sport or not, this box is the perfect place to call Home.
I have been going to Ideal CrossFit for almost a year. I have seen so much improvements in my daily functional strength and my life. The best decision I could make for myself was to become healthier and stronger and the coaching team at Ideal CrossFit is encouraging and supportive and cares for the well being and safety of its members. I love the community that is at Ideal CrossFit and I look forward to going to workout every day.
If you have never attempted Crossfit, I highly recommend the on boarding. Daryl is very knowledgeable and passionate about Crossfit.
Love the place! I have been training for three years now and I can say that since I’ve switched to Ideal, I have already seen huge changes in myself and in my strengths!Daryl is an incredible coach. He actually cares about the members, takes the time to pull them a side in a busy class and help correct posture/techniques. He has strict programming that works for everybody of all levels of fitness. No need to worry about “jumping in” class. He has a beginners program to make sure the new members are comfortable and learn PROPER technique to avoid injury.Everybody I’ve talked with since being at Ideal has all told me they are constantly Pr’ing and getting stronger every day! This gym is NOT “clicky” like any other gym either. Since day one of me switching to Ideal, everybody has been very warm welcoming and kind. It’s more of a family based gym. The members are very encouraging of each other if you’re having either a good day or a bad day. Come in and try it out!
I had a great experience and workout at Ideal Crossfit. The coach is very professional, knows his stuff, good workout music, the programming (workout, WOD) was great. Throughout the workout the coach pointed out some flaws in my form on the lifts we were doing, showed and guided me into a more perfect form on the lift, which in turn made the lift easier and smoother. If your shopping around for a gym, I would definitely give this place a try. Looks like I found a great gym to join!
Being new to Oklahoma and not knowing anyone made it hard to stay motivated in the gym. I knew something had to change in order to stay fit. Thats when I discovered Ideal Crossfit! This has been an amazing transition from boring bench presses to group workouts that focus on your whole body! Not only are these the NICEST group of people that Ive met in Tulsa, but the Coach is truely dedicated to making sure you work out with correct form and have a great time doing it. This combination will yield results! What makes this program different from the other trainers Ive had in the past is that there is a lot of positive reinforcement. Weve all had the trainers who you feel are seriously trying to kill you or dont fully explain how an exercise should look and feel. No one is physically or mentally prepared for that when starting a program. But with that being said, You WILL be sweaty and gassed at the end of EVERY workout. I love it!Blake
Awesome gym. If youre looking to try crossfit I would recommend Ideal Crossfit. Daryl is a great coach who has helped me improve from day 1.
Great box, great programming, great people, and most importantly great coaching! I have seen myself improve in every aspect of crossfit. I love this box and feel so blessed to be a part of the idealist crossfit community!
The most passionate, encouraging, knowledgeable crossfit coach around and he is constantly educating his self and sharing that with us. He is able to to connect with each one of us in our own way. My two kids and I all go to Ideal and we are all different levels and he is able to modify and scale each workout to fit our individual needs. You will find an extended family at Ideal Crossfit. Hope to see you there!
I joined the box about a month ago. I am a college football player who was looking for the best way to stay in shape over the summer until I go back to school. This absolutely blew away my expectations.First, the coach here is absolutely fantastic. He is professional and extremely passionate about what he does. You wont find that many people like that around. He trains each person according to their personal needs and abilities. He truly wants to make each person better, but according to their personal needs. He is totally about protecting his athletes and keeping everyone safe and injury free. The people here are absolutely wonderful. I had gained a great group of friends within a week. And nobody is judgmental! Everyone is all different shapes and sizes and its still the best workout environment I have ever been a part of. Its so nice working out with such a great group of people. They push me harder than I would be able to push myself.Ive been here about a month and I have gotten massive gains in my strength and endurance. Theres really not enough great things I can say about this CrossFit gym. All I can say is that if youre interested, you have to come in and give it a try. I guarantee you wont be disappointed.
Great coach. Great workout. Great Crossfit community! Try it out, you wont be sorry you did!
I would highly recommend this box to anyone wanting to get improve their health and get in better shape. Daryl and his coaches do an excellent job of teaching proper technique of the lifts and Crossfit skills to the beginner of Crossfit all the way up to the Crossfit veteran. They emphasize safety first and scale each workout according to your level. Youll never be bored with your workouts and each day you leave feeling youve accomplished something that you did not think you could do. The support and encouragement you get not only from the coaches but also from the other members of the box is special. Ive been going almost a year now and couldnt be happier. Give them a try and youll be hooked!
Ive been at Ideal Crossfit for 6 months and couldnt be happier. What I like about it is every workout is scaled to each individual. Our coach cares more about form and doing things properly, than just adding a bunch of unnecessary weight like other boxes do. There are no janky movements or workouts here! This place has become my extended family with the friends that I have made. Come on in and check it out for yourself, I promise you wont be disappointed
Ideal Crossfit is the best part of my day! Coach Daryl is very passionate about his work and the other members are positive and encouraging. I have known Daryl much of my life and wouldnt trust anyone else to coach me and my daughter. I have watched my daughters self-confidence grow by leaps and bounds since starting crossfit. I truly believe this is from Coach Daryls contagious enthusiasm, humor, and love of his members. Ideal Crossfit is absolutely the Very best place to get in shape and become a part of a positive community!
On a rating scale of 1-5, Ideal Crossfit is a 10! The coach, Daryl, goes above and beyond for each and every member. My experiences at Ideal Crossfit have transformed and shaped my mental and physical perspectives about every aspect of myself. At Ideal Crossfit, I am a part of a community and team of uplifting people that encourage and support you on your good days and your bad days. Joining Ideal has been the best decision I could have ever made for myself, and I couldnt suggest a better box or coach! From prioritizing your safety to pushing you beyond your limits - Daryl is a great coach and mentor. Do yourself a favor, TRY IDEAL!
I joined Ideal Crossfit two months. I recently moved to the Tulsa area and was looking for a way to meet new people and get in better shape. My experience at Ideal Crossfit has exceeded any of my expectations. Coach Daryl is the best teacher and coach I have ever had. Coach Daryl respects and listens to each person he coaches and its very obvious he cares about your fitness, but more importantly he cares about you as a person. The community of people here at Ideal Crossfit are very warm and welcoming. Making new and lasting friendships is as easy as showing up with a positive attitude and doing your best. I recommend Ideal Crossfit to anyone. Joining this box has been the most positive decision I have ever made.
I was a member from March 2015-June 2015 and after meeting a person today who was a member from September 2015-December 2015 with a similar experience I have decided to leave this review. I dont want anyone else to have such a negative experience when youre trying to get strong and healthy. Unless you are already a very fit person with great knowledge on lifting barbell weights, do not go to this crossfit gym. It wasnt until I joined a different crossfit gym that I realized just how bad my experience really was. I was constantly told I was doing things wrong but never received coaching to correct them. I spent 3 months in the foundations class with no end in sight. I wasnt seeing any improvement in my strength or form. Its a negative environment which causes great mental breakdown. The owner told me the way youre jump roping is the exact wrong way to jump rope then walked away from me. No coaching no correction just a negative comment that left me feeling like an idiot and a failure. I was left thinking if I cant even jump a rope how am I supposed to do anything else. After a few months at a different crossfit gym with some coaching and encouragement I am currently doing double-unders. Please dont waste your money on this gym. I encourage you to try classes at other places and find the box that works best for you. Crossfit is an inclusive sport and anyone can do it! You should never be at a place that only tells you that you cant.
There is a stark contrast between a regular Crossfit certified trainer and one that is genetically programmed to teach others to be their best. What Daryl brings to this community cannot be taught. Like Divincis ability to construct a painting by observing the natural world, Daryl can pinpoint an athlete’s strengths and weaknesses (both physical and mental) and create a precise roadmap specifically for them that keeps them improving at a rapid pace in a safe and encouraging environment. After 8 months Ive increased my squat by 75%, dropped my mile run time over 90 seconds (to nearly sub 6 minutes), and shaved off an hour of sleep at night. I have more energy than I can ever remember, helping me keep up with my two small kids and improving my marriage as a wonderful side-effect.Finally, I cant mention Crossfit without saying something about the community. Ideal is full of positive, fun and inspirational people and through osmosis you will learn to be consistent, persevere and work hard with a smile. The community reflects Daryls values and embedding yourself in this group will change your life - period.
I thought long and hard about posting this and almost didnt because of the friends I was forced to leave behind here possibly taking this the wrong way, but here it goes.I started at ideal crossfit in 2/2014 until 11/2015 when I was forced to leave. It all started with my idea that I was going to change my life and this was how. Id become leery but was talked into going here from a friend Id worked with. I was nervous but really enjoyed it. All seemed well, I was getting stronger, the coach seemed to take a real interest in me, and I felt proud of myself. Then something changed and I was asked to coach crossfit. I thought about it and did. Then I was asked by the owner to get certified in Level 1 Crossfit Trainer, which I did and paid $1000 out of my own pocket. Then things became personal and although previously known that I couldnt coach or workout on Thursday (my off day from work), the owner still expected me to alter my life to benefit his. When I didnt comply to his wishes, I was told to stop coaching. Mind you, I was coaching for free and still paying a membership to go here. That created tension and multiple times I thought hed make me leave a place I loved. Then more trouble came. Equipment was hard to come by and wasnt enough for classes. Weights kept breaking and wasnt substantial to keep a class going. We were promised new equipment for months on end. And when something finally broke, with a forced hand, we got equipment to replace to broken worn ones, but didnt add anything to the stock. Things got a little better for awhile. I was asked to come back and coach, I was very untrusting but tried it again anyways. Again I was coaching for free and still paying 125$ per month to go there. Having another job that actually pays, I had to make money to pay bills and couldnt come in as often as I would have liked. I was promised that when ideal starts making good money then well talk about payment however I saw money being spent on drones and gaming systems and regretted my decision to start coaching again. So I slowly stopped doing so. Then one random tuesday, when all seemed fine the day before, I received a text message telling me not to come in anymore and that I was being suspended aka kicked out for unknown reasons. I have found a new home that I love and wish I would have had the guts to leave myself.Couple other things, some people create their own enemies and I wont mention names. And if you ever try to point out his flaws, hell try to shame you on social media. So watch your tongue. There are multiple reasons I would urge you not to come here, and even more reasons I would tell you not to ever coach here. Moral of the story, just dont. Classes are at a steep expense, crowded, under staffed, with little equipment. Find a better place to call home like I did.
My 14 year old son started working with Daryl at Ideal Crossfit last May. He was small for his age and struggling with his self esteem because most other boys his age were bigger, stronger, quicker, and thinner. Daryl was so great with him. He challenged him without making him feel like he wasnt good enough. Daryl has always been ultra conscientiousness about making sure Nicks form is correct so he wont injure himself. I dont think I could ever trust anyone else to coach Nick. I dont think anyone would take care of him the way Daryl does. Now, almost a year later, he is a completely different kid - physically and emotionally. He has become lean, strong, confident, competitive, and proud. I love watching my boy build his confidence and his self esteem through Crossfit. This is one of the best parenting decisions we have made for him. I am forever grateful for the way that Daryl has invested in my son.I decided to join the class a few months ago. I had told myself that I couldnt do it because if several old injuries. Daryl assured me that he could work around my limitations. It turns out that I really dont really have as many limitations as I thought - I just needed to get stronger. After just a few months of Crossfit, I feel stronger and healthier than I have in years. I love the feeling of accomplishment that I get when I push myself to do something that I couldnt do before.I highly recommend Ideal Crossfit to everyone that I come in contact with. You really have to come see what you are missing!
I didnt go here
This guy is a MOTIVATOR!!!!!!
