See my COVID-19 reviews for other stores in the area.First, note that the store hours have temporarily changed. They are open seven days a week from 8am-5pm. I got there around 4:15pm on a Saturday (4/25). You have to line up outside the store to wait for a store employee to come outside to take your order. Customers are not allowed inside.There are no markings or guides for customers outside, you just have to maintain your distance from others on your own. When it was my turn, I showed the employee a picture of what I wanted. He found it quickly, came back out to confirm it with me, and told me how much it cost. I gave him exact change, but when he asked me if I wanted a receipt and I said yes, he had to go back inside to get it. We did have to within arm’s length of each other for me to pay and get the receipt. Otherwise it was fast and easy to get what I needed.

I came to City True Value for a belt for my snowblower. They had sold out but the older man working called around and found the belt I needed at a competitors (not a True Value) store. I was really appreciative of that and will definitely return to City True Value because of it. He was very nice and helpful!

I recently needed to replace exterior locks and to have my garage and back door rekeyed. Cost me less than $14 dollars compared to a lock smith. I fount the staff to be very helpful and prices are reasonable.

Im a newly separated individual and now the housework/yardwork is partly up to me. My backpack leaf blower needed help and it was going to be costly. They were so great and helpful. I rented one for the rest of the day at a very reasonable price. Not to mention the customer service at the paint section .

These guys are always friendly and have great customer service. Id much rather go here than the big stores. Prices on staple items are comparable, but service is much better than Home Depot.

My blower broke down yesterday at 10am., i went to the store and bought a blower, they delivered it by 130 pm and i was able to finish the driveway before dark. they also hauled away the old blower. You dont see service like this very often. awesome Joe

Can’t give it a worse review. Make a reservation for a piece of equipment to be delivered and instead of delivering “first thing “ like I asked they let someone else rent it and not return it on time. Burned my entire morning. They don’t care. I don’t expect them to honestly. What’s the point of a reservation if you let someone else take the equipment?

The whole team at City True Value Hardware are the epitome of excellent customer service. Further they take pride in being an integral part of the community. If you need two screws and not a packet of five or if you want a tutorial on your chain saw they can do it all.

If I could have given this place zero stars I would have... I never write bad reviews but I had to do if for this place. I never knew the store was there until I get an ad in the mail, I decide to try it . I go in to check out the place. Im looking for a present for my grandpa. First I walk around the store for a little too see everything. I start looking up information on my phone about a saw a woman comes up to me with an attitude asking if she could help me. I tell her no that I was just trying to figure out what saw my grandpa needs. She ask me to empty my pockets and that cameras saw me stealing!... Ive never stolen anything before! Why would I go to a hardware store to start! After she had me empty my pockets she asked me if I wanted to buy anything... like hell no. Didnt even apologize, just told me I was fine. Ive worked in customer service for many years, you dont treat people that! I was so embarrassed in front of all the other customers. What does she think, Im going to put a power tool or saw in my pocket, plus the store was very small with little options and a high mark up. At first I thought it would be okay to shop there from now on instead of the larger stores especially because I have a hard time walking with my sprained ankle at the moment, but getting treated like that is not worth it.

My father has been going there for years. We buy a lot of misc things from here and they’re always very helpful and knowledgeable. Much rather go there than a big box store!

Came in to get a piece of glass cut-great friendly service and didnt get charged-that rarely happens now a days!!!

Love this store. I get all my power equipment serviced there and they have great personal service and knowledge of all kinds of hardware needs. Also gas grills and propane refills.

Had an emergency window repair due to going out of town. I left the repair with them for a few hours. They called to let me know they got it done in less then 20 mins. Great service and speed.

Clear theres a trend here of bad reviews. With the competition of a big box retailer like Home Depot less than a mile up the road, youd think they would really make sure theyre customer service was above average? Absolutely not the case! I brought a screen in to be replaced. The frame had fresh coat of paint. Upon picking up, the paint was totally scratched and scuffed. The manager Brenton, even gave me a hard time about it. Extremely rude! I know the whole customer is always right thing is sometimes difficult when running a business, but a little politeness, courtesy, and accommodation would have been nice!!! It was like I was insulting them when asking what had happened. The owner Joe is no better. Couldnt be bothered because he was too busy with rentals which are more profitable, according to the woman behind the counter. Apparently I wasnt spending enough money to be bothered with and had no interest in speaking with me. Im all for shop small and spend you money locally, but people like these give the entire small business world a horrible name. Home Depot is 4 minutes up the road and has much lower prices. There is now no reason left to visit this store. If you are considering going here, just read the 6 reviews below mine.Horrible experience!!!!

This place is awful! I rented a karaoke machine for a party. When I signed the contract at the store I initialed in the box that I didnt want the optional insurance but when I looked at the receipt I saw that they charged me for it anyway. The guy wheeled out the heavy cart, which contained everything, to my car and walked away leaving me in the rain to try and load it into the car by myself. When I tried to get the refund for the unwanted insurance the worker seemed confused and offended that I didnt want to pay it and said he didnt know how to refund my money. When he asked his manager the manager said it wasnt optional, even though the contract said it was, and they wouldnt refund my money. Some of the CDs didnt even work for the karaoke machine and the guy didnt even show me how to set it up or use it. I wouldnt do business with these dishonest clowns again.

This Family Run Business is just plain & simple a GREAT place to go for hardware supplies & power equipment they sell,rent & repair it all !! Bill,Joe & Diane have the experience and great customer service to take care of you. MUCH Better than going to a BIG BOX retailer for sure .I Love this place !!!!

HORRIBLE! They kept $50 of my deposit for dirty popcorn machine! We purposely did NOT use the butter - they said it was not cleaned. Really?? It was dusty/dirty from just sitting in the store! This was from a SCHOOL that celebrated student success during testing and during TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!!! real nice! Will not rent from them again!

Horrible customer service. Person in the power equipment repair department. I went there to get a new recoil. I had a model number off the machine and the engine but he couldnt be bothered to look it up . I was told I would have to bring the machine in so he can see what type of engine. I googled model number and found out engine type . He couldnt be bothered to do that? I went here to avoid having to go to one of the big box stores. Never again.

Great customer service I bought a key that they didnt have in stock and they were able to cut it perfectly for me so I went back with another one today and had ot cut from a different employee and it didnt work in the ignition luckily I had the bike with me this time and went in and he fixed it for me now it works 100% great place if your looking for keys cut much cheaper than a locksmith and just as good I will definitely use them again

Time for a new snow blower I decided to try this place out since I like supporting small businesses. They have the machines parked right up front of the store which is great. I walked in and browsed around the store to see if they had any more machines, mind you no one asked if I needed any help. I walked out to to see the machines. LOL no one came out to help. Okay here is where it gets better...I walked into the store again and approached the counter and asked the guy about a the size of the smaller model out front, he said he thinks is a 26. I asked if they carry 24 the guy didnt really gave me a straight answer (Mind you I seen 24 on their website) he then tells me pretty much to shop around at other stores to find a the snowblower I needed. Took my business elsewhere!

Expensive as hell,disinformation when it comes to final.price...they hold insurance for what u rent in case of damages...and when returned even cleaner ..they refused to return the insurance..first and last time renting from them... a bunch of CROOKS...

The cheapest for reflective spray paint. Good for the occasional hardware necessity.

Had me wait half and hour to fill up a propane tank. Terrible service and competitors have cheaper prices. Only came here because it was the only place open on Sunday

Very unsatisfied! Will not do business with them again. As a small business owner myself I found the service to be gouging. I rented equipment that requires a pintle hitch. Not having one but being able to rent one or other true value stores have accommodated me with one but here was not the case. The store refused to rent one to me and was a forced sale ( otherwise loosing my deposit). It would have been better if they had told me prior to. I like to do business with other small businesses to keep the community alive but will not be returning to this establishment.

I have always liked True Value !

I rented an airless paint sprayer form them and could not believe what poor operating shape it was in. Every 5min it would stop spraying and then I would need to prime it and then set it into the spaying mode again. This went on for several hours of work before I stopped, cleaned it and returned it to them. I explained to one of the employees what problems I had with the sprayer and he could care less. Needless to say I will not be returning.
